Dear Cadbury Team

I bought 2 bars of Cadbury Dairy Milk from a general store in Vasant Vihar, New Delhi. On opening the first bar, I found small white growths in the cracks of the chocolate. I checked the manufacturing date of the chocolate and it showed 06/12 which means its is within limits of expiry. I know that at times due to melting and freezing chocolate develops white spots on the surface and have seen them many a times and know it is not hazardous to the health but this is a growth or may be eggs of a worm/insect.

I did check your website for any citation of such things and could only find the below FAQ which no where resembles the growth that is there on the chocolate bar purchased by me.

The chocolate bar that I purchased has white spots on the surface? Why does this happen?
When chocolate has undergone prolonged exposure to heat and subsequent cooling it results in discolouration of the surface. This is caused by the separation of the cocoa butter, which solidifies on the surface giving it a white appearance.

Besides when I opened the second chocolate bar, it was completely fine with no such growths. It clearly means that its not the fault of the shopkeeper in terms of improper storage or because of the temperature changes that would have happened during refrigeration of the bar. I do remember the case when some worms were found out in chocolate and I guess now that people have completely forgotten and gone back with their loyalties of cadbury, company has decided to take the quality for a ride again.

I would really like to understand the circumstances under which such growth occurs from your R&D department and also the quality measures taken by the company to ensure that the food items delivered are safe to be consumed by the consumers.

I am attaching the photographs of the chocolate and the growth for your reference. Please do respond to the questions asked with a satisfactory reply because it dosent take time for these pictures to go viral and people believe in what they see.

    This is regarding the current Cadbury Bournville ad being aired.
    This ad has a very negative message and impact. Not only the ad is of very bad taste but also highly racist.

    Even if we ignore the portrayal of 'slavery, exploitation, color discrimination and colonialism' , there is no possible way to ignore how cruelly the bean (crying like a baby) is thrown away. Its plain cruel and disturbing to watch. This ad lacks in morality and in no way is ethical or suitable for broadcasting!

      Hi to all,

      I bought dairy milk fruit & nut from Shivalaya (super market) ,Ambattur on 7th august 2012. When i opened it today evening i found that the color of the product was light brown and immediately broken in to pieces e small pieces which is not the case with the usual brand. Then i took the chocolate to the shop were i bought, the person incharge replied that he cannot do anything for that and if i need he may launch a complaint by a week later. He also told that this is not his responsibility, the company have to deal with this problem.

      So kindly stop eating nuts for which i have the sample proof and shivalaya super market is not customer friendly.

      5 star fruit & nut — found worms & full of fungus

      On 4 march their was a gift from surat for 5 star fruit and nut we opened this chocklate we found worms and funges I already send this pictures to company and Mr suresh rao. He fill one form on 20 march 2010 but their is no response from company.

          hi i bought some dairy milk from my local coop and when i opened it it was all white and looked gone off it wasnt even out of date this was about three weeks ago now i should of written sooner but have been unwell, i have had chocolate since then and its been ok but im always worried now when i buy some just hope this dosnt happen again in the future.             Cadbury's dairy milk eclairs chocolate packet does not have MRP printed. The quantity, code and packed is printed.

            In india MRP is mandatory for the consumer products but it is not printed, how this is being marketed with the permission of foods & drugs department

              We made a complaint against Cadbury Dairy Milk Fruit & Nut 4 days back(on the day of purchase). The chocolate was rough in texture & became powderish when we had it. Looks like its spoilt. After calling the customer care, they just collected the contact details but NO RESPONSE. They only tell us that the complaint is forwarded. We bought 4 chocolates out of which we opened 2 and both were spoilt as visible in the picture.

                  I bought a Cadbury Dairy Milk Fruit and Nut on 20th June 2012 from Rajiv Chowk Metro Station, Delhi, India and I was not satisfied with the product so I immediately called up on Cadbury India customer care number but the call was received only after 15-20 minutes. I made a complaint regarding the product and the reference I got is #593507

                  I haven't got any call or any kind of help from Cadbury India till now. Its been full 5 Days!!

                  Is this how Cadbury India works and is this what attitude it has for its customers?

                  SAD!

                  I want a reply to my query ASAP else I am approcahing the Consumer Court!

                    I purchased a packet of freddo frogs for the kids lunches and when i pulled them out to put in their lunch boxes there was packets still sealed without any frogs in them...very disappointing as i always buy cadburys and i have had a few complaints but this is the first time i have actually put in a complaint! ;(

                      We are a regular consumer of Cadbury. Today we have brought a two packets of "cadbury celebrations". Once we opened the pieces, it was observed that it contains a worm in it and were not fit for consumption. I am attaching herewith the pictures with batch details in order to take corrective actions.

                      Looking forward for your action to prevent any kind of food poisoning on the eve of Holi.

                        I purchased a Cadbury Moist Coconut (50 g) 3 Luscious Bars, at a convenience store by our house on 02/20/2012. When we opened it, there were only 2 bars. We were very disappointed at the failure of your systems to observe this weight discrepancy during packaging. I do hope you have a 6 sigma program to determine cause and more importantly to reimburse the customer for the loss.

                            Box given for a present on thursday 26th January 2012. Opened it today and the chocolates all look and taste old. the use by date is 2/7/2012. I am very disappointed as We usually enjoy these but that would definitely make me think twice about buying them or giving for a present

                              The samples are couried to Cadbury factory in Bangalore for analysis purpose daily from the Contract manufacturing sites of Cadbury in Jeedimetla. From last one week the some of the samples are missing in the consignment. This was confirmed by tracking one particluar consignment ( Docket No:D[protected] which was booked in Hyderabad on 27th Dec & the same was recieved in Bangalore on 28th Dec.
                              This consignment was observed to be opened during the Transit & 3 pouches of the 9 in the box were taken out & the box was re-packed.

                              The box was opened at one side & some of the samples were removed & was packed again; color difference of the tape is clear proof.
                              We have sent 9 pouches I this particular consignment in which 3 pouches are missing.
                              The attached photographs were taken in Bangalore before opening the box.


                              We expect detailed investigation on this; as this unauthorized activity was observed from last week which affected our logistics & other department services badly.

                                I bought two boxes of cadburys heroes from asda for a birthday and it was dissappointing to see that 3 wrappers were empty with no chocolate in it,hope you can understand this complaint as asda refused to be responsible when I approached them,it was embarrassing explaining the complaint to them.

                                  I have 3 packs worth Rs.900 which quality is deteriorated
                                  I am residance of nagpur and i had not preserve the bill of purchase nor able to go to mumbai for the replacement
                                  In this scenario what will be the option to get that packs replace with the fresh ones

                                      This is to bring to your notice that I have purchased some cadbury celebrations from Sahkari Bhandar (Anushaktinagar Branch). Today when I went to return them in exchange of other purchases within due date of exchange. They refused saying they cannot exchange them as they were sold on Diwali offer and items on offer cannot be exchanged. On confirming from other Branch of Sahkari Bhandar, it was told that Cadbury Celebrations are not exchangeable item. The employees of Sahkari Bhandar doesn't know why they are refusing, but refusing to exchange because they want to refuse. Nothing has been given in the bill in this regard. This is not the matter of just money but its the matter of transparency.
                                      Sahkari Bhandar management should think over it.

                                        I have been a 'regular' customer of Cadbury Dairy milk fruit & Nut for quite sometime now (last 12 years+), i buy app 8 big bars of 230gm every month for self. Today when i was having the same, i could find a plastic piece which is quite big , the same got stuck in my teeth while chewin and took it out. If i had swallowed it by mistake then that could have been big problem to my health. This is totally dangerous and am completely shocked about the incident.

                                        I am still trying to find out the right place to raise this complaint apart from this one.

                                        I have made pictures of the same and have kept the balance chocolate inside the cover itself.
