[Resolved] Citibank - Home Loan — Fixed interest rate changed to floating | |||
Citibank has been very sly on the home loan they sold us. The loan was on fixed interest scheme, but the Citibank authorities have cancelled 'fixed' on the application and terms and conditions document and have been charging floating interest rates. As a result, the EMI amount keeps changing every month. Citibank officials refuse to acknowledge, admit or even given in writing whether the home loan is on fixed or floating rate. For the longest time, they refused to explain why this was the case. Also they never sent periodic statements on payments made/received, balance, etc. After very many calls and letters and reminders have they started sending loan statements. Citibank — did not explain charges while selling investment product
To make some investment I called Citibank Wealth Advisor Nitin Arora who made me purchase Birla Sunlife ULIP without explaining its charges pattern.First year policy charged 65% of premium paid. When I tried to contact Nitin to ask for clarification,he was never contactable.Citibank — rate of home loan
I availed a Citi Home Loan and had asked for a downward revision of the rates by 1% as they were charging me higher than comparable loans to other customers. They agreed orally to reduce it provisionally by 0.5% and also said they will send a letter to that effect. He also promised a 0.75% reduction in writing. Two weeks later another rep called me for a rate hike of 1.75%!! Several Citi / TCS e-serve employees called me over the last 3 or 4 weeks asking for confirmation to increase the EMI. I have asked for a foreclosure and they are still calling me for increasing the EMI. Is there not a review mechanism. RM, M, SM and many more designations have spoken to me without understanding the real issue.
Its time i got Citi out of my life.
