dell is really the worst company i have ever faced. Details of complaint are in the form of letter to their maanger:
Sir,
I am a regular customer of dell, I have purchased 4 Laptops
already, this is the 5th laptop i am purchasing. I am very sorry to
say that the customer support and commitment of DELL is depleting.
Case Status:
I had booked dell vostro 1510 laptop on 31st July 2008 and was
commited by the salesperson Abhishek Shukla that my osder would reach
to me within 15 days, but now it has been more than 20 days that my
order has been received. I made a call at dell on the 13 or 14 and my
call was attended by Ms. Kaveri, She told me about some part shortage
problem and also promised that the Laptop would be moved from
manufacturing department by 14th ATMOST and my order will be received
by 19th August. On 18th again i called and i was told that the part
shortage problem still persists, i was totally dummed and i was given
a small compensatation to breifer my anger. i requested her to tell
the exact date on which i will receive the order but she didn't
cleared me exactly which date my order will be received. Today again i
called her and again the reply was same, I asked her to tranfer the
call to her manager, she transfered to her manager Mr. John. I talked
to him and again the same thing i listened .
Also, my father had to guwahati on 19th and was supposed to take the
laptop but now he has to face a lot of problems.
Not only this, among all stated above i had to call several (30- 40)
times to talk to kaveri reason being????????.
Among this, i am in class 12th (non medical) and undergoing crucial
year, and your representatives are not bothered about anything.
Therefore, sir it is requested to please look into the matter
personally, and if you cant deliver early, then please atleast give
an appreciable compensation.
Please reply as early as possible. I will be grateful to you.

sir this is not the complaint but i need your help in the matter. sir i am lab incharge in college we are using your company pcs. sir, someone put the password on the harddisk and this not broken by using jumper sir please give me answer in this matter that how to remove the hdd password. i shall be very thankful to you.
i bought a dell studio 14 a couple of days ago for rs44500.. initially my web cam picture quality was like a vga camera...then in few hours o[censored]sage my touch pad started hanging.. so i made a call to costumwer care n i was told to restore factory settings...after doing that i realised that my laptop was asking to shut down.. my w lan stopped working.. internet explorer stopped working...since i got this laptop from a dealer the costumer service at toll free never listens to what i say n hangs the phonee down after in wait for my turn to speak after 20 minutes of phone..i bought derll coz i believed that it has a strong trouble shooting back up.. but facing these problems with no solution provided till now even after loddging a complaint by mail i feel i should hav bought some other brander pc at the saME PRICE...
dell is totally a laptop which is made of faulty parts and the backup of cosymer care is so poor ...they make you wait for long hours to reply.my laptop crashed because of the dell backup team.they had no resolutions of the problems i was facing with the laptop.the service engineer which i was given had little or no knowlege of the machine.he was struggling to see the wifi signal catcher..moreover he was like a machanic and not an engineer...i am not writting this to defame dell but beacause wat i am writting is pure truth .dell kept my laptop with them for 2 months and then gave my money back..this shows how lame their service support system is...so friends and ppl...do give a second thought b4 goin in for dell...shell some more buy hp...or buy sony...atleast you get some peace of mind with these products...if you can shell some more buy apple coz i heard it never lets viruses enter in it...i was crucified for the 3 months till my laptop was with dell team.. to answer their calls and send emails i had to bunk classes..one more thing when you buy dell laptop from a shop and upgrade it your warranty goes for a toss which dealer never tells you and when you are in trouble you get messed up..you have noway to go...buy any laptop ...hp sony apple...even acer is good...for dell read my article..this one and the one above

I am a student. I paid for Warranty Extension and here in my hand now i don't have any receipt of payment nor the extension of warranty period.
What to call this? Purely Unethical practice.
I called them for around 100 times in these 3 months and their gullible call center executives keep you on waiting then play with you stating transferring to the viable department or they will hang you out.
Don't understand why would dell receive GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE AWARD!!!

DELL INDIA — poorest service

I placed a battery for my studio 15 a month ago and i made the payment in cash. From the very moment after they recieved the money i got no call from the person who was attending me(Pallavi Singh, Amandeep Singh Bullar). I called the customer care a number of time all i got in response was a call trasfer to the concerned department whereas there is no department for the problem i was facing because they kept taking me for a ride in a circle. The call would get disconected while i was on hold and they would not even bother to call back.
My suggestion buy your desire from a company which has a dealership in your city so you can easily hold the guy there responsible and screw his happiness but NEVER FROM DELL.

DELL — didn't get the response of complaint for which i approached dell

i didn't got the solution of my problem which is seen again and again in my laptop. in past also i approached dell for the same problem and also last week i approached dell for same problem but i didnt got the response properly.
hope u will solve my problem soon.

Myself Syed Abdul Razzaq with customer no.[protected] and i have ordered a dell Studio 15 laptop on 27th october 2010 and it suppose to get delivered on 4thoctober 2010 as i have requested to the customer care executive beforepurchasing the laptop.Finally it got delayed to 3novemeber either because of no availablity of midnight blue color or black color which i suppose to get eventhough i got the order confirmation with blue color and after keep trying on to call customer executive who was dealing with it she did'nt even lift her calls because their was no availabilty of the latop color.so all this issue here tells that how Dell Executives plays with the customer.it was an urgent consignment and they are just keep delaying it.what to do now if such Big Companies does like this with the customer's need?and trust me it is waste to call Toll free numbers and whichever number Dell provides because you will never sought it the problem with them, they just keep pending and they dont care about service towards you.
If one wants to go through harrowing experience, one should place order on Dell (Hell?). You never see the face of the person you deal with. You might as well be dealing with Ghost! You have to pay up front. Dell takes seven days to present the cheque to your bank though it is a local clearance, but promises to deliver the computer by the eighth day! An order is placed on order and you are informed to track. Suddenly, the order is cancelled and another order is placed. You make phone calls, the person concerned is always in meeting or training session. Someone suddenly tells you by mail that the order should have been placed through a Partner of Dell. But, the joker in Dell who sent you the quote seems to be blissfully unaware of it. Eventually, the money (Rs.50995) is refunded, less five rupees. Probably, someone in Dell wanted half a cup of coffee!? I had ordered for four computers. One all-in-one could not be supplied as dell cannot supply its own product directly! Other three computers are supplied about sixteen days beyond the committed delivery date, but without power cord for the monitors! Some more yelling over phone and abusing over e-mail eventually gets the three power cords delivered about four days after the supply of computer. Dell is hell. It would be great social service if they close their operations in India.

DELL — poor service and parts

Dear sir, I am Soman Biswas and I have a dell studio 1745 laptop with service tag number 4TW1RK1, purchased from Ohio, USA. As the warrenty in india was not valid I took a extended warrenty valid till 12 May 2011. I had a screen blackout problem in 7 May 2011 and so I submitted my laptop to a dell service centre at Shop 5,Kuber complex,Andheri, Mumbai under warranty service.The laptop was given to me with a replaced motherboard and DVD drive as per dell. Although the screen problem was made alright but as I played music on my laptop at my home the speaker sound quality was found to be poor and so I took my laptop back to the service centre. There they refuced to carryout any free repair as my warranty period was over, but atlast accepted my laptop as I got an approval from dell tech support for a free service as the problem arised after the repair.Since then my laptop is with the service centre and as per them the speakers were replaced but the replaced speakers too got damaged because of a circuit problem in motherboard.Which clearly indicates that the motherboard supplied to me was faulty from begining and because of that my laptop's speakers got damaged. Inspite of this dell is not providing me services and insisting me to pay for the repair.I am very much dissapointed with dell's poor response and so I have reached you for help.please do the needful by protecting my rights.Thanking you

i have a complaint that the speakers of my laptop are not working.
nd when i talked to customer care executive, he made excuses for using the VLC media player,
after viewing this type of behavior, i'll never buy any product of DEll.

    I have purchased laptop inspiron 1525 online from dell
    india pvt ltd on june 1st. it document in bill that '1 year limited
    warranty(next business day service -parts & labour)' .
    I wanted to change colour of my laptop.then dell sent me colour panel for
    laptop. but to put/fix it in my laptop i need technician or engineer, i
    call dell custumer care to sent engineer but custumer care transfer call
    to technical support two times but technical support told it is not a
    techanical problem. then again i called to custumer care then they
    transfer call to sales. sales told it is not sales problem. i made around
    20 call each of duration 20 minutes to 40 minute. finally my call
    transfered to installation department they told our engineer will call you
    today(wednesday, 6th august) and will come to you on thursday or as your
    convinient time but even saturday is over nobody has called me.
    during this period i send mails to custumer care, technical support,
    sales, sales person etc . dell claim to reply on next working day but i
    got reply after 3-4 days for each mail. and they send mail that this
    issue has been solved. but it is not solved. but nobody resolve my issue.
    i have given warning to dell to raise this isssue in consumer court but
    still they are not responding. please can you help me. i am sending you

    Dell is not providing services as expected

    I ve bought a new dell Laptop inspiron 1525, through one of its dealer in Nehru Place Delhi, after 9 Days i ve got the delivery of the product on 17 Mar 2009, infact i was happy with buying a product like Dell, a brandname & image.
    Since then i have been waiting for a technician who can help me out to get it started, to install all the updates including my MS office, that can do the partition in the system, as well to make all the requirements for the system.
    Since then i am trying to get in touch with anyone who can help me out, if anybody knows please kindly do let me know.

    Dell XPS 1330 System heating issue


    This is Ravikiran. I am using Dell XPS 1330 Laptop. Recently I got a Problem with My Battery, It's not given proper backup. I contacted dell and they sent a new battery. That new battery was good and giving good battery backup, but Laptop getting overheating. I checked with Another Friend’s battery and Adapter that it's working fine, without battery also working fine. So I contacted to dell and logged a compliant for another battery on 30/3/2009. The representative said that, we are ready to replace the battery, but we can’t give assurance on the battery backup. Sometimes there may be compatibility issues with mother board. Hence forth we will send you the mother board and cooling fan first. If still the problem was not solved we will give you the new battery. I have clearly told him that my warranty will expire on 31/03/2009. I have accepted for his words and he has sent the motherboard and cooling fan and it was replaced by your service personal. Still I am facing the same problem that the laptop is getting overheating. Your service personal also find the problem with battery and he said, OK sir I will contact to Technical Support and we will replace the battery. But till date I have not received the battery or any update from dell. After One Week again I contacted to dell TS. They are saying that Your Warranty Expired. But the complaint was logged on[protected]. On the day when I logged the complaint my laptop was under warranty. And the call was not closed. How your people could say that the warranty is expired. But they are not accepting and they are simply saying this problem is not coved under warranty because it’s not functional failure. I was surprised to hear that, why they are saying that word. I don’t know what is functional failure is. Do you mean to say only backup of the battery goes wrong called functional failure. When I complained about overheating, why your person has suggest me to for changing of motherboard and cooling fan. He might have been sent the new battery on that day itself. If he sent the new battery it was covering under warranty. Hence forth you are requested to replace the battery and rectify my overheating problem at free of cost. I will not pay single rupee since because the complaint was logged on 30/03/09 and on that day when I logged the complaint my laptop was under warranty. It is not the fault of mine, Dell service people have misguided me to accept for replacement of mother board and cooling fan.

    Dell Vostro 1510 laptop bluetooth problem - Case ID 2004445

    I am not at all happy with Dell. I had purchased the Dell Vostro 1510sed on its configuration & it had Blue tooth as standard feature even in the handbook it is noted that it has a blue tooth. But ultimately the conclusion on the above case ID was the same does not contain a blue tooth & need to purchase amounting to Rs 3, 500/-(Supply + Installation )

    This is nothing but a cheating to a customer from Dell. I request your attention on the above at the earliest on urgent basis.

    Dear Sir,

    The battery of my laptop (Service Tag no.- B533T1S) failed within 15 months. I am not getting any power backup from that. Please tell me, what is the reason of failure. I had a talk with your representative and was told that the battery can not be replaced FOC as it has only 1 year warranty. But if the original battery is having only 15 months of life, it is not acceptable.

    Secondly I requested your representative on 04.05.2009(reference no.[protected] to send me the quotation of the battery. Even after his assurence that I will receive quotation within 48 hrs., I have not received any quotation. Today since morning I have made several calls, every time your representatives assure to send the quotation but I have not received any quotation. I am sorry to say that whenever I need some service or help from Dell I didn't found any support. Have I made a mistake, purchasing a Dell Laptop and I will be punished like this only?

    Dell India Pvt Ltd — Warranty upgradation.

    I bought a DELL Vostro Notebook 1000 (Service Tag: 4GYBW1S) on 11.06.2008. Whose warranty was upto 11.06.2009. I contacted the DELL Helpline [protected] on 11.06.2009, Mr. Abhineet (from Bangalore) listened my words & according to my request he transfered Rs.16148/- (Rupees Sixteen thousand one hundred forty-eighty only) from my Standard Charterd credit card for the warranty upgradation for two more calendar years (Transactional Ref: INSO2550517). He also told me that this upgradation will be reflected within three business days.But till date (01.07.2009), it is not reflected. I have called them for number of times & every time they have assured me that they will resolve the issue by end of the day. Still its not resolved yet, so to save my money, I am registering this complain to the forum.

    I agree with Rajiv the Dell service is getting worst by the day and also the product quality, this is one of the problems of a big organization where you have so many departments and ppl seating behind their seats are so well instructed and the consequences for them to help you out of the way is so bad that they just want to swipe hand with anything that is not from their plate.

    I had to wait for a quote for 10 days for my battery that did not pull itself through for even a year and the warranty for the battery was just 90 days, i could not believe myself. And or 10 days i almost spoke to all the departments but the Billing department cause they were never on their seats or as i assumed that due to recession the billing department was removed by the DELL management and no one from the other department was aware of it and they kept transferring the call to them and we always hit rock bottom.

    Finally i got a Quote after 10 days of turmoil and now i am thinking if it is worth owning a laptop, as my desktop never troubled me so much in the past 5 years and i have not spent a penny on it. So in 5 years i will have enough money to buy 2 desktops for the price i have paid on my Laptop battery.

    Owning a DELL LAPTOP is a yearly expense of Rs 5500 for the battery alone cut aside the other laptop problems you are going to face. I learned it the hard way but then for my work a laptop is a must so i have no choice.

I have purchased this new Dell Studio 15 Laptop on thursday i.e. 9/7/09. and i have this problem regarding the facial recognition in my laptop ... its been two days that i have been trying ur toll free no. but it seems that nobody s interested in listening to ur prob every tiime you call them they ask you ur service tag no. and then they tell u to wait after that u keep waiting and waiting and after 10 minutes they disconnect ur call
    whenever I need some service or help from Dell I get any support from ur service centers.
    Have I made a mistake, purchasing a Dell Laptop and I will be punished like this only?

    i brought a Dell studio 15 from Dell center which was located at Croma in Bandra, Mumbai two weeks back. Whenever i log on to the net to send out a mail or type something., the key board gives me problem. I am unable to type properly without missing out on some words. My mother bought a Dell Inspiron and she too is facing the same problem. I am in the US, ( which i had clearly stated to the salesman there...that i will be taking the laptop to the US)..how do i proceed?

    Please dont open dell exlusive stores like S.C.O 57 sector 20-c chandigarh ...[protected] they have disconnected my calls several times...and they aare not providing me services i have to resolve my complaint by taking your desktop along with me on my platina bike to sector 35 c to resolve the complaint of operating system...your dell dealers always making wrong commitment i have spean 33 thousand indian rupees to purchase dell computor but i dont think so you people really providing me good services...even you people dont know how to attend the customer on customer care..they always put me on hold and taking long time while taking single queries and also they transfer calls to one dept to another i think you should stop selling dell desktop speciall in india as all people are fraud and mischief..i want to talk with your manager and the person who is taking care of indian customers i still dont think you will resolve my complaint ...if you dont then go to hell...i think i have make a big mistake by getting your desktop...

    Dell India Pvt Ltd — Laptop Delivery Not Done till yet

    On 6th Oct 2009 I had given purchase order for Inpiron1545 laptop via order no:0417597 Customer code:872691. I was told that system will be delivered before 12th oct as on 13th Oct I was going out of station for diwali vacation. This thing I had clearly mentioned to DELL on 6th Oct itself and I was given assurance that delivery before 12th oct will not be a problem at Hyderabad.

    But on when I didnt get the delivery till 11th oct I called up Dell Sales executive to find out why delivery has not been done he told me that now it is not possible to get the delivery on time, so I asked him to cancel the order and refund my money.But later he made me promise that if I can provide him FORM 17 madatory for uttaranchal then he would make sure that deliver is done at Dehradun on 16th Oct. So I had given him scanned copy of FORM 17 as welll as the hard copy by 15th oct. But till yet i.e 30/10/2009 no delivery has been done. I have made several compliants to their customer care , and written mails to their senior manager but nothing has been done. The sales Executive is not picking my mobile and no body is replying to my mail. I have asked them to refund my money but nothing has been done all they is that your delivery will be done next day.. I have decided to take the case to Consumer Court.

    I also had big problem with Dell warrenty. I was moving from US to india and my warrenty was expiring. I asked dell chat support agent, if it is possible for me to transfer my warrenty to India and he told me yes so I took the warrenty. When actually I ask them to change it they asked me $204 I was upset but still I paid it (for a $502 laptop I paid $313). When I reached india. I had a problem with charger and DC power jack. I talk to support agent and they asked me to got to Lajpat nagar new delhi dell service center. They changed the adpater but for DC jack they asked me to upgrade the warrenty to complete care. I changed that by paying $77. Now When I went back to the same service center they told me I need to pay further Rs17000 or the same technician can do it without going through dell for Rs 4000. I am not whether to upgrade the warrenty or pay the bribe in dell service center. Ultimately one year warrently is costing me more than the laptop price and it is not getting repaired either.
    I will never suggest anyone to buy dell laptop.

    I had purchased Dell All in One Model from Dell India Pvt Ltd . Model Dell Inspiron Desktop One19. After Purchase on July 2010 the system immediately stopped working. I had registered the case id 5477177 through Dell support. Dell support visited my place after 12days and finally said that there is no availabilty of the spares so the issue shall be rectified by 15days. Today it is almost 100days there is absolutely no response from Dell team. Our faulty unit is not yet replaced and when contacted the Customer Care they reply sayin due to High Volume in calls please call after 2 hrs. The same is being repeated frequently.

    This issue should be taken seriously.. This intends to huge loss of our time in Business and also money..

      i purchace my dell laptop vostro 1000 last year in november. But before completing one year it shows battery problem like battery back up is only 30-35 mins after full charge. & it shows one line at the time of starting of laptop " The battery cannot be identified, this system will be unale to charge this battery so pls. solve my this problem as early as possible its so important for me.

      Same here. Must be something with the Vostros made in Nov/Dec 2007! I purchased my Vostro in November 2007 & within 6 months the battery could not be identified & would not charge. I've read this could be a problem with the battery, charger or motherboard. Dell refused to fix the problem from day 1 so I've been stuck with having it plugged in constantly since each of those issues cost between $50 - $200 to fix. Words cannot describe the worthless customer service that Dell has. For this reason alone I will never purchase another Dell & I encourage everyone I know to do the same.

        I am a management student and to make my life easier on the campus, had to purchase a laptop.We placed a bulk order for around 150 DELL Latitudes from our campus.Till now 114 laptops have had a problem with the motherboard.Proper servicing could have mitigated this to an extent.But it is equally poor.The chronological order of the problem is as follows:
        1.You get vertical lines on your LCD.You call up the Dell call centre and tell them the problem.They diagnose it and say the problem is with the LCD screen and give a time of 2 days.
        2.After 2-3 days the engineer visits your place and re-dianoses the problem and says the problem is with the motherboard.(I dont know why this has happened with almost all the 114 lappys).
        3.You place an order for the motherboad and you are told it would take another 20 days as the part has to be imported from malaysia/singapore.You have no other option.You got to wait.
        4.After 20 days you get your motherboard, which may/maynot work.At present my motherboard is not working and i have placed an order for another motherboard.I am waiting for another 20 days(Total 40 days).
        I dont understand why it takes 20 days to get a motherboard when all the laptops have this problem.Why can't Dell expedite its suply chain in the India.WHy can't they have an inventory of spares?WHy should the customer wait for so long?

        Cycle time of any operation is a function of the responsibility.You call up a fire-squad and say your neighbourhood is on fire.He would rush becoz he knows his responsibility.That is not happening with Dell.

          Hi, Now i know dell for lack of committment, service and consumer service, I got this new monitor in june, The sales rep told me that i will get the monitor in 3 days whereas i got the monitor in more than 2 weeks. Just within the first week o[censored]se it started giving me some problems, it used to turn off the screen with power light on sometimes. I tried to call ell tech support but due to such a long time (i was on hold for 30 minutes) i used to disconnect the call. but after a month it used to turn off the screen very frequently.. once in every two minutes, i have to press the power button two times to make it working, I complaint to dell tech support at last.. they told me that they will send me a replacement.. i thanked the technician but after half an hour, i got a call from dell dispatcher that the monitor is not in stock so he cancelled the dispatch and hung up upon me. I called dell tech support next day (after taking some tme to be on hold), The next tech said that he will take some time to see where the monitor is available, he said the monitor is in malaysia. he took additional 35 minutes just for the dispatch, again i got a call that it has been cancelled, after 3 attempts i forwarded this matter to dell unresolved case team, I have a 3 year warranty on the monitor, they shipped me a bad monitor for 17, 000 and they are making their service sick, i will wait for a day now before i register with consumer court.

            I had ordered a Inspiron 1525+ Accesories and the same was quoted to me vide quotation no IRSO1521516 by sales person Mr NathChiranjit on 18/06/08 for Rs 49875.81.The payment was sent to Dell India Pvt Ltd vide Demand Draft payable at Bangalore.I had scanned a copy of the draft and sent it vide email before despatching the draft by courier.The sales person called me on recieving the draft and told me that the price of the laptop had been increased by Dell Computers by Rs 3793.00 and if i was to get the lap top i would have to pay an additional amount.I found it quite absurbd that a company like Dell gives a firm quote and then on reciept of the quoted amount asks for additional amounts for processing the order, the same reeks of a scam on the customer.I was later approached by a supervisor M/s Roshni Singh who made amends saying that the sales person misquoted the amount, if the company representative does misquote an amount then how is the customer responsible, and why is he coerced into paying additional amounts.I would be extremely cautious in dealing with Dell as they are undercoating prices to lure customers in their sales trap and once the payment is recieved by them they tend to make additional demands on the customer.I have yet to recieve my laptop as i have just finished with the sordid saga of additional payments, i only hope that i recieve the laptop as ordered by me in the time frame required by me.

                I purchased a DELL Inspiron 6000 as per following details:

                Amount paid : AED 5, 560.00

                I do not have the original Invoice/ Receipt. However, I purchased the
                Laptop using my Credit Card as per following details.

                Amount Charged:INR 69, 457.74
                Transaction Reference:VT[protected]
                Less than a year after I purchased the above Laptop, the LCD display
                became defective. It displayed vertical lines of varying thicknesses and colours. At the beginning they were not causing much problem but soon
                they occupied more than 70% of the screen and it was impossible to use
                the display. While this defect was developing, I was on a long
                international tour and could not contact any DELL Service Center.

                Eventually when I returned to Bahrain where I was stationed for a
                reasonably long period, I was told by the local DELL dealer that the
                Warranty had expired and that I had to pay for replacement of the LCD.
                At that time I managed using an external monitor and did not pursue the matter further to have the LCD replaced.

                I have been in Bangalore, India for the past few months when the Laptop's Hard drive crashed. I tried to contact the DELL Service Center for necessary
                repair aganst payment. After advising them my Service Tag and my name, I was surprised to be told that the Laptop was not appearing in my name as per DELL Records. I was also told that unless I "established ownership" of the
                Laptop, DELL could not give me any information or provide any assistance
                in having the Laptop repaired (against regular payment!). I do not plan to visit UAE soon and do not have a visiting Card of the Salespersons so that I could contact them. All I can recollect is that I purchased the Laptop from a large showroom in a prestigious Mall at Dubai. I can not he held responsible for some error that the salesperson might have made in registering ownership details with your Systems.

                One of your support persons said that DELL did not have any sales outlets in UAE. I am quite scandalized by these statements.
                If DELL has such stringent processes in place which incidentally I am
                not aware if any other company in Electronic Consumer durable Industry
                follows, it should make them known to unsuspecting customers like me who
                could be trapped into this kind of situations and who might have to
                suffer protracted ordeals besides losses due to business discontinuity.

                I requested DELL via e-mail, to please investigate this matter and advise me the next steps. Obviously all this has happened due to some errors/ lapses. I
                would like to know who are esponsible for these, what action DELL is
                proposing to take and what action/ legal recourse is available to me.

                To this I received a reply saying
                "This request is being closed.

                There is an issue with the Tags or the Account below, that prevents
                ownership transfer or country to country transfer.

                You will need to contact the original purchase country's, which is the
                United States, customer service or financial department to discuss
                resolving the issue.

                Once resolved you can resubmit the transfer request, use the following
                link to do so."
                On explaining the position again and requesting thier action, DELL replied as follows:
                Hello,

                Thank you for your reply. However, there is nothing we can do for you.
                You did not purchase the computer from Dell and our records show that this service tag is from the US and is on hold and cannot be transferred, there is no manufacturer warranty on this item.

                You will need to work with the company that you purchased this from to see if there is any warranty from them that they will honor.

                This is being closed as transfer is not possible.

                Dell — 40 day delay in delivery, Pathetic Customer Care

                I am having a harrowing time myself.

                CASE HISTORY:

                • I chose to Buy a Laptop Dell XPS 1645 from Dell in the 11th of Nov with the delivery date as 1st Dec.

                • On the 28th of Nov this was arbitrarily cancelled and on the 1st of Dec the delivery date was updated to 9th of Dec.

                • Today on the 8th of Dec they arbitrarily chose to extend this to the 21st of Dec.

                Going by the above stated facts it is clear that I have made a grave mistake trying to associate myself with Dell. Also it seems the customer doesn’t exist for them because nobody has contacted me and told me the reasons to the delay or even asked for my consent if I am fine with this delay in the first place.

                This is the second revision in delivery date being made for the Laptop, ie, they are unable to honour their own ‘revised completion’ date that they themselves chose in the first place. I’m thought this is an aberration as such slackness does not augur well for a company of this stature and will definitely do them no good but this clearly shows their slack work ethics.

                I am scared to buy this product because of the fact that they are unable to deliver it in the first place therefore, lord forbid, but if the laptop develops problems then, they would take years to get it rectified.

                I placed the order on the 11th of Nov and they are now suggesting to deliver it on the 21st of Dec. It is preposterous to deliver a gadget/product in 40 days from the date of booking, this clearly shows that they do not know what they offer in the first place. I have not asked for anything fancy, as i simply chose the default configuration they had on offer, still they are finding it difficult to honour their commitment, this is extremely sad state of affairs.

                I want the delivery of the laptop asap or they should return my money along with interest as they have unnecessarily charged me without themselves knowing when they can honour their commitment of delivering a laptop.

                Dell executives are also exceptionally unfriendly and unhelpful. When i brought this to their notice they simply said parts are not available
                It is shameful for a company to give such a reply, and my misfortune that i am buying a laptop from them. My neighbourhood electrician/mechanic or computer guy would never dare to say that ‘the parts are not available’ after taking the order and money, because of fear of losing business, somehow they seem to be confident of their company’s conning tactics.

                If they didnt have the requisite inventory then why did they accept my order in the first place?
                I am buying a Dell Laptop for the sheer joy of getting good service and here they are unable to even deliver the laptop besides, taking no interest whatsoever in my case.

                40 days( with a 20 day delay) for a laptop to be delivered is completely unacceptable, i am sorry that i dared to buy a device from dell, and will make sure nobody in my neighbourhood goes through this ordeal again

                Dell — vostro 1310 battery

                I bought a Dell laptop some 8 months back. it is a dell vostro 1310 and it was supplied to us by college.
                The stand by time of the battery is only 45 mins now.
                This is disgusting and goes against the reputation of dell..We being an institute order in bulk from dell and seeing this kind of quality will never order from dell again.
                I WANT MY BATTERY TO BE REPLACED AT THE EARLIEST.

                Dell — premature expiry of antivirus/Technical problems

                I purchased Dell Inspiron laptop directly from Dell Bangalore on 23rd May 2009. By January 2010 the lincessed version of Macafee antivirus got expired. Now i dont have any antivirus & the dealer say to buy a new version of antivirus.

                Also I am not able to dowload any document etc from internet. The Error message of "Access Denied" appears everytime i try dowloading any documents/songs/pictures from my emails or even from safe internet sites.

                i am not finding any support from DELL Services also.

                Dell — Failure to provide goods

                I purchased a Dell computer online as they said it would take 7 days to deliver. They promptly charged my credit card and din't deliver. I tracked the delivery on the internet - it didn't move from "arrived in Australia". I sent 3 emails to Dell - got automated responses saying a customer care person would be intouch within 3 days. That all started 12 days ago and nobody has contacted me. I phoned to be put on hold for >40mins at a time.
                I finally demanded a supervisor, Hazel, customer care Australia ( working from Malaysia), who said she would ring me back on my mobile. 3 days leter I had to make 6 calls to Dell, sales ( the only one that answers), to get Hazel again. She said the carrier came to my home, and there was nobody there.

                That is a deliberate lie, as the delivery address she and the carrier have is my workplace that is open and staffed all day everyday. Hazel had no explanation for this. Again she agreed to phone me.

                Thus far it is 3 weeks overdue. I have made 10 phone calls, 3 emails, waited 70 mins on phones for no result. I have paid for goods not supplied, and at this point no resolution in sight.

                Dell — Quality of ProductProduct Support

                I had bought a Dell laptop on 6th February 2010 and within 15 days the system had developed hardware issues. I had logged a complain and still after a week of R&D done by them the issue has not been resolved. The techincal support as well as the customer care team is unable to understand the gravity of the issue and are just passing time. On asking for the replacement of the device the customer care is least interested in understanding the pain which the customer is going through and had failed to even revert back with a positive reply.

                Dell had failed to provide a quality product and customer support and would not suggest anyone to opt for Dell product.
                I have a vostro 1310 too about 9 months old. The battery backup seriously sucks. Mine lasts for around 15 mins only. Are Dell people listening? I need to change my battery too.

                I know your pain, early Feb I ordered the alienware m17x laptop and a i7 desktop for my business.
                As of this date I have not received either, I have made in excess of 50 phone calls, dozens of emails and heard just about all the lies they can think of. I cancelled the order with them over two weeks ago now and still have not see a return of the funds they were very quick to take from me.

                I complete agree, even I am facing the same problem, Onsite Engineer came from Wipro on behalf of DELL and came for getting hinge cover replaced. But after replacing a loose connection it worked. Also, not to mention in this xps touchpad never worked, not even by the onsite engineer, even after getting the system restored to factory settings and also after replacing the touchstrip of the computer.

                As per Dell Computer Technician: As there is a log stating the hinge cover has damages which wont be covered under the warranty, With the complete care warranty we can get the parts replaced which I have a mail from " indiaxps_ap <[protected]@dell.com>" before that I asked for the option where in the warranty it no where states that if the parts have been damaged or broken by onsite engineer it won't be replaced and consumer has to suffer for the same.

                All the help I received from Dell computer is to purchase warranty for Dell and get it replaced, which is quite frustrating. Even after repeated emails I was not provided ticket number, which later I received after contacting Email Support of Dell as I wanted in writing the actions which were told to me over phone.

                Kindly suggest the way forward, as I will purchase the warranty, no issues ..but I don't want others should suffer like I did. I don't hesitate raising my voice against something that is being done wrong.

                My self Madan Mohan Singhal writing you this letter after getting frustrated form your customer care and after sale service center as I had purchased a laptop Ispiron 1440 at 1 Jan 2010 from dell center after recommendation of my friends over HP pavilion but my experience with you company is very horrible as it is giving me trouble from the beginning and after repeated complain on your service center they are blaming interdepartmental maintenance service provider ( as software division says it hard ware problem and vise versa ) service center people saying its hard disc need to replace. Sir I am a research Scholar from Delhi University and belong to a poor family and I have purchased this laptop from scholarship money for getting help in my research work.                 Ha ha ha...same problems with my dell studio laptop..after expiry of one year warranty, it's battery stopped working, DVD writer got damaged, screen started putting strain on my eyes.I think they've started putting poor quality parts to lower their price.
                I purchased Dell inspiron 14R in Jul 10, order number 0631696, service tag CYW46BS. There was an accidental crack on the display on 09 Sep 10. I spoke to customer care vide SER #[protected]. On the phone one Mr Shivam quoted apprx Rs. 18000/- for an accidental cover for 2 yr and display replacement. However subsequent quote of Rs 18875 was for 1 yr accidental cover and the display replacement was sent by him on e-mail. My reply mail asking breakup of cost on 10 Sep has not been replied by DELL. One Mr Gurpreet Singh ([protected]@Dell.com) called me up on 14 Sep and informed that the 1 yr accidental cover and replacement would be aprx Rs 12000 in lieu of Rs 18875 quoted earlier. On my query, he also said that replacement of display this route would take only 3-4 days and if I don't take the complete cover warranty, the cost of display replacement will remain apprx Rs.[protected] and it will take over 04 wks for replacement. I requested him to mail these quotes, which has not been done till now.

                This is a case of cheating and blackmail. I want to know, if it is a Dell policy to replace parts only if there is an accident cover. If so Why did company not tell me at purchase time that repairs are not welcome without accidental cover. I also want to know that what kind of company is it which tells that a display replacement will take over 04 weeks. My laptop is lying defective since 6 days and there is no response from customer care. Pse resolve

                I have purchased a laptop from dell. the order was initiated on Aug 16 2010.After much delay the laptop arrived on 4th Sep 2010.After that the laptop was not working.I was not able to start it up for once even. I lodged a complaint in the dell tech support on the same day.On 6th Sep I initiated a request for the system replacement wherein i was promised to get a new laptop within 21 working days.But there was no response from dell for 1/2 weeks.Every time i called up dell support i was told that a callback will be arranged and a new order will be raised, but nothing happened.On 24th Sep my laptop was taken away by dell logistics and again for a week I did not get any confirmation regarding that. Again I called them up an after much harassment they raised an order for a new laptop on 11th of Oct.That too they said that the original configuration cannot be processed as dell has stopped giving that configuration.After much negotiation i had to go for an alternate configuration. At that time i was again promised that the laptop will be delivered within 7 to 10 working days.Now they are saying that the laptop cannot be delivered before 12th Nov as they are out of stock. I will be out of town for 1 month and there will be no one to receive the laptop at that time.
                This is sheer irresponsibility on Dell's side and i am suffering because of that. I sense some foul play as well from dell's side.
                Also I have called them up so many times and every time they used to give me false statements without any credibility.
                I had no option to escalate the issue as there is no way i can escalate it over phone.
                So it is been around 2.5-3 months that i am waiting for a laptop from dell.
                The cost of the laptop is around 50K and i am very much concerned on this.

                i had a problem with my dvd driver whenever i put any cd/dvd inside it does not read and pressing the start key the dvd/cd come out ...
                so to get rid off this problem i called to dell technical support on august 2010 that time my laptop was in warrant period means my warrinty was finishing on oct 2010 .after that call they told me that they will replace dvd driver and they took my address but waiting two week i did not get any call from any engineer that whether he is coming or not ...

                i purchased my dell studio 15 laptop on 9th of march 2010.it started giving prob from July itself.in august the ram and mother board was replaced.in Sept the blue tooth had problem so the blue tooth card was replaced and when the engineer left the touch pad stopped working.so after fighting with the customer care they agreed to replace the laptop on 13th of September.i scanned the required documents and emailed them.on 15th of Oct the laptop was collected and i was told withing 15-20 days it will be replaced.after calling the customer care several times about the delivery status on 9th Nov they called and said there has been a delay from our side and we will send u to email and u acknowledge again and we will start the process and ull get the laptop in next 15-20 days.i still haven't received their call nor email.dell is pathetic please don't buy dell products henceforth.customer care is worst.

                I am writing this email to highlight my pain and agony while experiencing issues with DELL XPS M1330 model (Service Tag: GDN3S1S). I purchased this laptop the same time DELL has released this Laptop. Ever since I purchased this machine, except hard drive all of the components has already been replaced because of one issue or the other (Please refer Case History of this Service Tag). I have lost count on how many occasion DELL has replaced the Mother board. I have taken even extended warranty, but that will give assurance only for a year. After spending INR 80,000 (including cost of extended warranty) have a machine which comes with problem every 1-2 month or so.

                Last time motherboard was replaced on Nov 2 2010 and it again broke down on Nov 30 2010, and after that DELL has sent a Desktop motherboard and closed the case. I have to call again to get case open. And moreover what guarantee DELL can offer that this motherboard will work. I can’t keep purchasing extended warranty, I had invested so much on this Machine and this is add on investment on yearly basis. If DELL had manufactured a faulty machine, why I should keep paying for errors. I trusted DELL brand name to make a decision to buy a premium laptop from them, but in the end its only me who ended up losing money. I am feeling cheated by DELL.

                One representative from Dell, offered that they will give warranty extension for a year. But again they cheated me by removing complete covere from warranty.

                I think Dell Customer Center and Service is one of the worst in the country. When I tried to purchase a battery for Inspiron 1525 laptop I had one of the worst experience in Online purchasing. The payment was done on 4th of January 2011 and they promised me that it will be delivered in 7/10 days, but now it's 17th of January, till date no news. When I tried to contact the sales person with whom I have done the transaction, he is unavailable permanently.

                Dell — complaint of poor consumer services provided by company

                my laptop has encountered some problem about a month ago.the company has showed meager interest in solving my problem, even though my laptop is in warranty period. The company's engineer has checked my laptop about 3-4 times and has changed some of its parts but the problem is still there.

                Dell — Poor Customer service by Dell

                While booking a laptop battery, an assurance is given that you just make the payment today and the delivery will be made within 6 days. Its been more than 3 weeks still no sign of any shipment.Such service is not expected from Dell which is well known for its global service .When they say they need 2-3 weeks for shipment and if we dont book stating the need is urgent and we will buy from a local dealer, they will do 10 promises to get the thing within 4-5 days, just you make the payment and then the only thing left is wait.

                Its a request to Dell to please respect the time and urgent need of customers.

                I agree again. Dell have lost the plot. Over the years I have pourchased 6 or 7 machines from them and been a fan of Dell for many years. But this last purchase made me realise that they cannot be trusted. On 17/3/11 purchase was made money taken from my card. All good. 10 days later no delivery. Call Dell. They have no concern at all. In fact blamed me for not being ready to take the delivery on 29/3/11. We were home all day. No phone call and no truck turned up. After many calls to Dell and treated like with contempt by Dell we are now trying to deal with Dell's courier. The Courier is trying to send our goods back to Malaysia. This is the correct procedure it appears. At no time has Dell bothered to contact us. It is now 4/4/11 still no goods. We think that we might be able to stop the goods going back to Malaysia and may be able to go and pick them uo from the courier depot. Maybe today at 12.00 we will get our goods.

                Dell cannot be trusted and ahould be avoided at all costs. I am writing my comments here because Dell does not have a facility to air such greivences. This further adds to the frustration.

                Up till this experience I have been trusting enough to make many on line purchases. Dell will kill off on line purchasing. Its all about trust.

                They cannot be trusted. They are a con job! They grab your money and then maybe deliver if and when they feel like it.

                  I was facing problems in my laptop mor many months. Almost right from the month I bought my laptop. On my repeated requestests an engineer was not sent to my place. Several times I called Dell both toll-paid and toll-free and they I also accessed my laptop over internet for hour long sessions and my problems were not resolved. In the problems many times I was told to reinstall my OS (Vista) and lost my data again and again.
                  Now, after 8 months they sent me a technician and said that my OS is to be reinstalled and they will take my laptop for reinstallation. Then, I decided enough is enough. I am behind 8 months as I paid the price in September '07. I told them I would not take any service now and I want a new laptop for the price I have already paid i.e. Rs. 62, 000.00 . I have made it clear to them and I going to fight it.
                  Now, I have got there reply stating- they won't replace, however they still want to offer just their services.
                  Well, by now I have not asked for any compensation. I want to settle it peacefully, for now. But I will take any step if they are rigid.
                  Please suggest me about how to go about it. I haven't ever made a formal Consumer Forum complaint or through any court of justice or so.
                  I am a 2nd year engineering student.

                  In the month of July 2009 i purchased a Dell's Laptop. Only few months gone and its Charger is not working means it is not conveying the required voltage. For it i want it to be replaced. Kindly write to me the procedure for the replacement of the Charger. Here the retailer is not taking the responsibility for the replacement.

                  Seriously, Dell is a Big Company, I purchased Dell in November 2012, Couple of weeks after the key of the laptop was just pulled, i called them constantly and they did the same troubleshooting online and blah blah kind of stuff, so they never came up to rescue, and when warranty was due for expiration, i got a call to ask do u wanna renew, i told my problem and told them and they said, keyboard will be replaced, after renewal, i called them again and they said, it does cover under warranty and this cannot be replaced, they conveyed false information to me and now they say there cannot cancel the dell warranty.

                  Big Dell India. All customer customer service working in india for dell are [censored]s, big [censored]s,

                  now i had filed a complaint against them through my bank saying that they forged me with misleading information and i need my money back

                    We had ordered a lpatop from DELL, after getting confirmation from Mr. Sandeep Sr. Manager that they shall delivered laptop with in 7 days by any means.We had told them that we are shifting from amritsar to chandigarh.If you cofirm 7 day, only then we will place order.They had given 100% assurance to us. We had place ordered on 20th march. but till date(31 march), we had not received laptop. Even their representative is not responding on phone.They even did not show any cursey to call customer regatdin g delay.We had cancelled 3 times travelling tickets due to this. They put us in mental harsememt.I am worried about that they will not delivered laptop to us, as they had taken money.By tomorrow morining(1April), we are leaving for chandigarh, as my son schoolois running.I am very much worried about my money.If this is service before sale, then what will there commoitement after sale service.Kindly accelerate this thing news and medai, otherwise, they will cheat others also.

                    I had ordered for an Dell (Latitude E5500) Laptop a week ago ( precisely to say on the 0n the 7th of April 2009), As per Dell... Once the Cheque has been processed, your order is Normally Processed / say it has been Confirmed ... and it goes out ... and they send you an E-mail confirming your Order NO ... Internet Reference No : etc...

                    But untill now ( That's to say its almost been a Week ), i have'nt received an E- mail Copy confirming the Order.

                    Finally I decided to call the The Accounts Manager (the Person who Took in the Order) ... She finally sends me an E-mail with just the Order No :, on it and she tells me that i can use it to track the order status. ... But i'd say it was a waste of my precious time ... that also did not work...

                    The Dell order Status tracker kept on showing an error every time i tried to enter the Order no / Email id / Quotation No etc ...

                    Finally I decided that I'll call her (the Accounts Manager) one more time ... That's when she told me that the Customer care in Dell who is Supposed to Send out these Email's ( Confirming The Order).. has not been replying back.. or to Say is Offline ...and it would take him a day to do that... i never knew that send a mail took so long ... ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

                    I think he/she should stay out, and offer his / her post to some responsible person.

                      I have Ordered for Dell XPS 1530 with ref to Quote id IRSO1254553.I have sent two demend drafts of Central Bank on India (DD no. - Amount)559374 -Rs30, 000 & 559373 -Rs26, 397. The Dell Sales representative Mr Hari Vasant confirmed me on 05/02/08 that both the Demand Drafts have reached him sucessfully. To my surprise I got a call from Dell Bangalore today(12/02/08) which is the time when my Laptop should get delivered, from Miss Pooja-Sales Manager (Ph.No. - [protected]) stating that by mistake they have misplaced my demand draft of Rs.26, 397 via DD No.559373.She has openly accepted that due to the mistake of Dell Staff the DD has got misplaced. I fail to understand that how can a company operating in online transactions can misplace the DD and moreover I have to rum from pillar to post checking with my bank about the DD status. Since the DD was from Cental Bank of India Thane branch and was payable to Bangalore branch, so the Thane Branch staff has told me that Dell should get in touch with Bangalore Branch of Central Bank Of India and get this matter sorted out. Now my question is why I should suffer from the maistake of one of the staff member of Dell. I feel that this type of companies should be thrown out of our country. Their Indian operations should be stopped.

                      "Hello Sir/Madam,

                      I am Abhinav Krishna. The service tag no. for my Inspiron laptop is 7VJH1BS. I am sending this mail to let you know the kind of difficulty and mental torture that I had to face while dealing with your customer service dept.
                      First of all, let me clearly explain what exactly happened. On the 11th of this month my laptop stopped working. Next day, as it as Saturday, I could not contact to customer care to convey them about my problem. On Monday morning I talked to a gentleman, Mr. Prem and told him what exactly I was facing as the problem. After a very brief talk that gentleman made me completely surprised by advising me to take my laptop to any near by computer shop and to get its hard disc memory out and take a back-up of all those data that this system must be having. I asked him very clearly that would you like me to go to any road side shop when my laptop was very much in warranty period. He clearly said to me that there was no other option I had.
                      So, here comes my first question. Do you agree with what your technical support executive suggested to me? What kind of warranty you provide? Had it been any other company’s laptop and had I gone in any non authorized shop to get my laptop checked, the company would have simply ended my warranty agreement. And I think that’s the right practice followed by any reputed company. They all help their customers to solve their problems as simply as it could be from their own end. And thinking about your reputation and brand standard I bought this laptop and what the I am being advised on the very first incidence of facing any real problem. Do you call it a warranty? Suppose that shopkeeper would have done something irresponsible, then would you have not made any move to close the warranty?

                      Any way, I, taking a risk went to a near by shop. I did not let him do too many things. After observing a little, he suggested me that it was not a software issue; the problem might be in some hardware may be in hard disc. He told me that I would have to incur an expense of almost 7 to 800 bucks and all the things would be brought to normal. That was when I felt disgusted and made up my mind to request for an engineer’s visit. Next time, on last Friday I talked to a lady, Miss. Dandya. She straight away refused to take my request for engineer’s visit and told me clearly that she was in the capacity to take the request and I should better do exactly what I was suggested. That was more than enough to ignite my fire. I told her to pass line to her senior. A gentleman, Mr. Anil talked to me and noted all the problems. He promised to arrange for the engineer’s visit on the very next day, on Saturday. He took some time to confirm the availability of engineer for the visit and after some time he promised me in very clear words that I would get a call first and then one of your engineers would visit my place on Saturday. He assured me hundred percent for the visit. But next day, I kept on waiting for the whole damn day, I left my coaching classes and some damn important works for it. But neither did I get any call nor any engineer visited my place. I felt like helpless because I could not even contact to customer service because it being a Saturday. On Monday I called again. After explaining him all the problem again I requested him to arrange for a call back as soon as Mr. Anil comes to the office because I wanted to speak to him. It felt strange as it was around 11.30 am and your employee was not in the office. But today it is Thursday passing and I am still to get any kinda call from that gentleman.

                      Here comes the second question. Is the HR management of your company is so pathetic that you end up hiring so irresponsible persons… that too for senior positions? Or is it the system that is so rotten that you give a damn about the problems that your customer might be facing? Who would be responsible for my missed coaching classes which cost me a good 750 bucks per class. Who would be responsible for the mental frustration that I was put under because of this so irritating behavior? Why the hell Mr. Anil should be penalized for this irresponsibility?

                      Today, on Thursday when engineer came, it was around 11.30 am. I had specially instructed in the very beginning to send engineer either on Saturday or before 11 am in the morning on any week days. As per the engineer, the problem was not that big. He made it alright within half an hr. he himself suggested that I should make some partition drive so that if in the future the same kinda problem comes then at least my data should not get affected. When I told him to do that, he said that he was not paid for it and so he won’t do it. For this to be done, I will have to talk to customer service again and then any thing would be possible. The reaction followed by me was, [censored]..! Any way he did his work and made my laptop run. As per him, the problem was coming in the real media player that was corrupt. And because I might have used it directly without starting the laptop, the system hanged and in the future also if I repeat the same thing then it would happen again. So he suggested me to take a back up of memory and then reinstall the operating system and all to get the laptop on right track. That’s it.

                      Before telling all this, I should have explained you the kind of frustration that the customer goes to get access to technical support people. Sir, have you yourself ever tried calling to this department on telephone. I bet, you would either throw your own cell phone into water or would slap the responsible authority for this kind of completely shameless and rotten management. You say that you help your customer on telephone itself for many small-small problems. But do you expect your customer to keep the cell phone holding to their ears for more than half an hr, at times for almost an hr and then to speak to any person. All the times when I called to Dell, I had to face this head burning exercise of keeping my attention to my cell phone. At the time of buying I was not put under any waiting mode, not for even a minute. And now when I am facing this problem, I am being told to keep on waiting for an hr on phone just to get access to a person. And this is happening when I bought the laptop being an employee of CAPITAL IQ, which operates in a huge business with Dell. This all must be present in your record. Is this the service that Dell promises? If yes, which seems true now, then I am completely sad and disappointed upon my decision of buying this laptop. And I promise you from my heart that in my wildest dream I wont suggest any body to go for Dell explaining them all the problems and frustrations they would invite along with the colorful laptop.


                      I request and expect a proper explanation for all this irregularity and a report about what action did you take against all responsible persons, the name of whom I have mentioned in this mail. Also, how I am going to be compensated for all the torture and frustration that your people forced me to go under. Obviously I would expect a prompt reply for this afford of mine. And I hope you would also introspect and repair your own loopholes that are blackening the standard you are trying to establish in the market for yourself.

                      Last week my Dell computer suffered a virus attack and I decided to use my reinstallation disc, but for an unknown reason I couldn’t accomplish the task. I then called Dell’s number to obtain assistance.

                      After 30 minutes or so with the first person in India to which I spoke, I was asked to give them a credit card number and be charged a $129 fee in order that my problem be resolved. I was referred to several different people and finally a technician told me that in order to be helped he would have to consult his manuals and would call me back In 30 minutes.

                      I never heard from him again.

                      I then checked with Citibank who is the issuer of my credit card and found Dell had indeed charged me for a service I never received. I then called a local computer expert who, after checking, advised that my hard drive would have to be replaced and all programs reloaded. He returned my computer this Monday and charged me $315.

                      I have emailed the service people and they have flatly refused to issue a credit for the service I never received. This is so patently unfair that I then decided to write to Dallas to appeal this shoddy treatment.
                      To-day Saturday Jan 9. 2009. I called Dell's support 800 line for some help in Scanning & uploading my two 4"x 5" photo prints to my Dell Desk top PC. After waiting for half an hour Hitesh, insisted he would first have to run a test on both my Printer and PC, before giving me the necessary information. Unfortunately, i agreed to what he originally said would only take half an hour. He never once even tried to assist me with the uploading issue. Instead he kept me on the phone for four hours, while he waisted a lot of time, trying to sell me high priced unecessary Insurance and other things all of which I repeatedly refused. When, I question him, why was it necessary for him to continue to go over everything in my PC & Printer when absolutely nothing was wrong, with them and all I was seeking was technical advise. He continued to give me a deliberate run around, saying that it was necessary to go over everything, and I should unplug this and unplug that. Then when I started getting annoyed and was still refusing his high pressure sales tatics and threatened to expose there scam, he ended everything and hung up on me.
                      Is this really the way that Dell has trained their representatives to treat their customers after one has purchased their products? I definetly will never ever purchase another Dell product and will certainly always tell every one of my bad experiences I' have had with then whenever I called.

                        I have had huge problems from day 1 and still unresolvd and system not yet replaced - the keyboard gets locked and i'm able 2 use only foll keys on keyboard: 'achijknsvwyz', numeric keys and space-bar keybard too get Locked ; keybard gets lockd if 'l' is typed either thru keybrd or using on-scr soft kybrd, i hv now spent over two hrs trying to type this using only soft kybrd and using copy-paste for every 'l' in the mail and restarting IE at least 15 times to release the lock each tme 'l' is cickd on soft keybd by mistake! DELL Customer care is extremey PATHETIC customer support and TERRIBE APATHY towards consumer probs! Have spent at LEast one hour every day trying to get to speak to and expLain the prob.to someone in DELL customer care.
                        Yes, i too have the same model and was purchsed in the Feb month, and i ve the problems from the day one dell does not react properly to get it resolved.
                        i also purchased xps 1530 from dell, its battery is not eorkin since last ond month, I could heard any thinfg from dell, if i get dell local adress i should syorely be go to consumer court

                        Do not expect Dell to solve any Problem . I dont think their customer Service really exists !!! Get a computer repair person to resolve your problem .

                          I have applied for two laptops, one is for amandeep singh, and second is for me. On the same day and same time through one cheque. NOw the cheque has been cleared and till date only one laptop is delievered and second is not which is for me. I am daily mailing to mahesh badam and abhiruchi. But even they ar not replying on email and not picking up their phones. so they are working with dell india a very big reputed company, but they do not know how to attend customers. So I am requesting you to kindly take necessary action against them and delivered the laptop. My order no is 2279392. Otherwise I am having all proofs that your company people are harrasing me and not delievring the laptop. waiting for the positive response. that is of dell india.

                          Dell Computers — Refused to supply laoptop at agreed price

                          On 03.11.2008, Dell offered a loptop branded VOSTRO 1310 for Rs 38, 800. I placed order for the same. Immediatly i received a refernce/ Order no. After half an hour i received a call from Dell Salesperson from Bangalore. he asked for confimration of the order, Confirmation of the Address and lots of other things. I confimred the order and whatever was asked by him. Later in the day when i enquired about my order status, Dell people informed me that the i will have to pay rs 56, 000 for the same. When I quoted the price advertised on website, they refused to honour the price. I asked them that Dell has confirmed the order for advertised price, why are they going back. Now dell people are not answering my mails and concerned person is not giving contact details of his seniors. Please ask dell people to supply the material at agreed price.

                          Dell Computers — Excess Charge of Spare Parts

                          Sir,

                          I ordered Fan and Heat Sync through Dell Customer Care for my Dell Inspiron 1300.

                          Mr. Babu sent me the Quotation of Rs.2392/- and when their engineer came to fix the parts he gave me the Delivery note of Rs.400/- for both the parts.

                          Now when i spoke to Mr.Babu for the confusion, he said that company charges extra for the Urgent Delivery and if i would have waited for 16days Company would have charged me Rs.400/- only. Now whose responsibility is this to inform us about this cost difference upfrontly. Isn't company liable to disclose all the informations to the customers. I never required these parts on urgent base and nobody ever took such confirmation from me.

                          Now when i have already paid to Dell now they are imposing the things on me. Why should a customer bear for the mistakes done by the Company's representative.

                          Dell Computers — Compelling to buy new license

                          Hello Sir,

                          I am planning to buy a new laptop. So, when I browsed dell's website to select a model, they all
                          are coming with new windows vista license.

                          My complaint is that, I already have a license for Windows Vista Home Premium and I really don't want to buy a new one. I only wanted a new laptop not a new license then why should I buy a new one ??

                          It's all against consumer rights !!

                          They should give the option of :
                          >> Windows
                          >> No Operating System

                          But they can't compell me for Windows !! That's Unfair !!

                          I faced a similar problem with my Dell laptop. The laptop was delivered to me after a month from the promised date of delivery. The worst part was that there were no updated ever from the Dell. I had to call them everytine to get an update. Even after writing esclation mails to Mahesh Badam and Sarat, there was hardly any impact. After writing a couple of more mails, they finally delivered it to me. For the delay caused, they promised me a gift to compensate but its been more than 4 months since, and I have not yer received it. Now when ever I call them, they simply dont answer my calls or give lame excuses and valueless commitments. All together I have had/having a pathetic experience with Dell India.
                          It seems that Dell values their customer only till the payment is done and after that, you have to depend upon their grace.
                          i agree to this.. even the worst manager was bal chand. He is one son of a , who promised to give a mouse free and till date havn't given it. through one of the sales guy i came to know that he's always bussy sleeping in the pussy of amanda david (one of the sales girl there) and never answer customer calls.

                          Dell Computers — old computer being sold

                          I bought a brand new laptop dell laptop studio 3 graphite grey (B116) on 13th July 2010. Just after 15 days I am getting a lot of problem in recharging my laptop and sometimes it shuts down on its own. I called up dell service centre no. as i though my laptop will be in the warranty period however they told me its a 2 year old machine and the address written on it is of some one else. i am really pissed of with this as i was not told that it is an old machine and will give trouble. i am still not sure if i am the first time user. i called up the service number of vijay sales many times but either they give the number which doesn't work or hang up. I am very upset and hence filing a complain in consumer court.

                          Dell Computers — FAILURE OF LAPTOP

                          I "SACHIN NAGORI" WORKING AS Sr. SOFTWARE ENGINEER, IN TELCOM SECTOR HAVE PUCHASE THE DELL LAPTOP - VOSTRO 1510 IN APRIL 2009. WITH IN TWO-THREE MONTHS ITS DVD-RW GOT FAILURE. AFTER CONTINUOUS CALL TO DELL-TECHNICAL SUPPORT AND REGULAR FOLOW UP FROM MY SIDE, DEEL REPLACE THE DVD-RW.
                          NOW AGAIN AFTER 1YEAR-3 MONTH, SYSTEM GOT FAILURE AGAIN.
                          POWER OFF THE LAPTOP IS NOT GETTING ON. AFTER GETTING IN CONTACT WITH DELL-TECHNICAL SUPPORT THEY ASKED ME TO PERFORM SOME CHECKS ON THE LAOPTOP TO KNOW THE PROBLEM AND THEN LATER THEY CONCLUDED THAT MOTHERBOARD HAS GOT FAILURE.

                          I SEEMS TO BE DISGUSTING THE LAPTOP OF THE DELL, THE BRAND NAME ALL OVER THE WORLD. THEITR LAPTOPS GET FAIL IN FEW MONTHS THIS CONCLUDE THAT NO ONE SHOULD RELIA ON THE DELL.

                          NOW DELL TECHNICAL TEAM IS ASKING FOR Rs. 16000/- FOR THE MAOTHERBOARD.


                          ITS BIG SHAME ON DELL. THIS SHOWS SHOW MUCH DELL PRODUCTS ARE RELIABLE IN THE MARKET.

                            I am Soumendra Misra. On september 2007 I bought a car from Fortune Ford, Khairatabad, Hyderabad. I financed it from UTI bank. Now I realise that I should have gone to some other bank to finance my vehicle.

                            To begin with, the representative o[censored]TI (Axis) is highly unprofessional and lack knowledge. He, showed interest till the deal was finalised and I was told that I will receive a welcome kit from UTI head qtrs, Mumbai. I havent received the welcome kit yet and have already paid six installments. I did not even receive my loan account number. I would have never known it, fortunately the collection guy gave it to me.

                            I tried to reach the UTI representative to get help on this. I even reached his manager for help. He gave me a contact center number[protected]. On contacting that number i get another number[protected] and on contacting this number I get another number[protected]. Here finally I could speak to a lady who assured me that I will receive the welcome kit via registered mail.

                            I havent received my welcome kit yet. I am trying to reach[protected] but am getting no response. This is what you call after sale service? Rediculous.

                            I would definetly not recommend UTI to any body. It has got pathetic customer service.

                              Hi,

                              I purchased an Airtel Data Card last year in October with SNR: ML36C5083 and IMEI: [protected], bearing the number [protected] for rupees 6099/-. I opted 599 plan as per the plan posted on www.airtel.co.in/datacard. Since then every month I am getting a bill in excess of 700 irrespective of my low internet usage. I was dealing with supervisors in Airtel regarding the incorrect/excessive billing, in April this year as suggested by one of the supervisors I have changed the plan from 599 to 999 which is supposed to be an unlimited plan. Unfortunately the plan change was never updated and I continued to get the excessive amount of bill irrespective of my less utilization of internet service. One fine day Airtel has send me a bill of about 6000 rupees and discontinued my internet services, I personally met the so called supervisor Mr. Gyaneshwar from Airtel in their office located in the Whitehouse building, begumpet to discuss about the same, after multiple reminders this gentleman send a request to wavier the excessive amount they have billed so far.
                              After all this drama, my number still remains to be barred. I have now decided to discontinue this pathetic service of Airtels and opt for a better service provider. I sincerely request all not to opt for Airtel data card especially as their plan is not transparent and moreover it gives lots of mental pressure. Airtel customer service is the worst as their agents doesn’t know what they speak and to my surprise they don’t know what a DATA CARD is. I have undergone the pain and mental trauma, I request other’s not to.
