[Resolved] HomeTown — Renege on Delivery Promise | |
My dear friends From whatever we read in the media... the gradual shutting down of the retail sector isn't owing to western economic recession but rather a spiralling effect of closer to home shoddy missions, visions and service ethics adopted by many indian chains such as HOMETOWN - a Kishore Biyani enterprize. They want to rake in their dollars on false comittments and poor service delivery; a falty business model on the drawing board itself that has obviously forced thier business to crash in less than 2 years of operations. I purchased a piece of furniture from HOMETOWN - Ahmedabad based on promises on specific delivery dates having made full upfront payments but I am now forced to spend days in a frustrated waiting game trying to call them up and ending up insulted and injured on telecalls too. I AM NOW DISSAPOINTED ENUF TO ADVICE PEOPLE TO STAY AWAY FROM SUCH UNETICAL RETAIL CHAINS WHOSE BUSINESS CRASH SEEMS WAS SCRIPTED IN THEIR BUSINESS PLAN ITSELF BY THE BEST KNOWN MANAGEMENT GURUS OF THE COUNTRY... I have bought a new Wardrobe from Home Town in the end of August. After almost 10 days it was delivered ..on 5 of Sep. After a few more days a fitter came to assemble and then we found that two sheets are in absolute bad condition and need replacement. we lodged a complain in the customer care desk around 15 th of September. Also the fitting was so bad that we were not been able to lock the computer. After several types of reminder the customer care is not responding to this. Please resolve this problem asap.
Home town sucks
I ordered a mocca queen bed and 3 door wadrobe on 25 may 2012 from thane with advance payment of 12000 and remaining to be paid 2 days before delivery which was supposed to be on 26 june 2012 . I paid the remaining a mt on 25 june 2012 and was promised to get the delivery by 27 june. I was told that the goods were defective and the delicery wuld be delivered after four days, then aft four days when i contacted i was told that it was delayed due to stock intake at their nagpur branch and so it would be delivered 1 week later then when i contacted 1 week lated they said the goods were yet not reached their godown so it would be delivered 1 week later then 1 was told that the goods are defective once again which seems to be their favourite lie. Todays 15 july and yet i havent got my delivery.

They say a retail chain's attitude towards customer service is best gauged in the stores. Unfortunately, I got a nasty taste of the bad customer service attitude at Hometown's Martahalli, Bangalore store today afternoon.
I had gone to the store along with my family today afternoon to purchase some home cleaning products that Home Town stocks. To be specific the incident happened today (28th July 2012, Saturday), sometime between 02:30 and 02:45 PM in the afternoon.
I was directed by the staff to talk to the person manning the customer services desk, about my inquiry about the availability of one of the products. While I waited at the customer service desk, the gentleman in white shirt manning the desk was busy chatting away on the phone (though the discussion was in Kannada which is not a language I understand very well, it did not seem to be an official discussion and most definitely not something which was serious). When I made my presence known, the person acknowledged that someone was standing there, and said he will get back to me soon. He never bothered even after I waited for few minutes. It REALLY irritated me, and left. What was astonishing that the "Customer Service" (??!!) desk person did not bother about my leaving at all.
I wonder why Home Town employs such people and that too as "customer service" personnel(??!!!). Dont they have any value for the customer or the customer's time??!!!
Hope the concerned person manning the customer service desk, is reprimanded by the management, if you really care about customer service!!!
