My wife had purchased a Campus Wardrobe from Big Bazaar Guwahati on 31st December2009, which was supposed to be delivered on 6th of january 2010, but instead it was delevered on 7th evening after giving them the reminder for atleast 4-5 times, but we were told that the wardrobe will be fitted by their fitter next day within 12 o'clock. But noone from Big Bazaar Guwahati has come to fit the wardrobe till 9th evening.

Furniture — Delivery not on time

I had booked for a sofa set on 26th Oct 2008 paying full amount at Big Bazaar Kathriguppe Bangalore.

Staff at the time of booking insisted full payment for accepting a booking and promised delivery within 10 days. (12 days mentioned on the receipt)

Even after 20 days they failed to deliver and their follow up on informing the customer is pathetic.

None of the managers (by name Pradeep) pickup the call and Junior folks are all hunky dory about their job.

Now they are claiming out of stock and are ready to make a refund which is almost a month.

If Big Bazaaar can't deliver on time they should not accept bookings in the first place and defly not insist full payment.

I hope they refund my money with interest and penalty charges.
I had taken a set of Double bed, bed side table, almirah on 24/01/11 bearing bill no 65801 in regard to my marrige from Big Bazaar, Guwahati .
I was confirmed that the materials will be deleivered within 25 days of which Double bed and almirah had been deleivered 24/02/11.
But till now the bed side table hadn't been delievered whenever i call the customer care that too from different phones they just told me that the materials are coming .

Please suggest to take appropriate actions.

    Hello,
    We had purchased a television trolly from HomeTown Marathalli Bangalore outlet around 4-5 months back. We picked up the material on our own and Hometown carpenters came to install the trolly.

    However, after this purchase we went and recently bought 2 more products from them. But the trolly which we previously purchased has got its wheel broken and we are requesting them to replace/repair it, but call center are refusing to register our complaint becuase we dont have cash reciept of the purchase. But they know it was purchases as they could locate the entry in their software.

    I dont understand what kind of service is this? despite visiting personaly and requesting them 2 times and also requesting them twice on phone, they refuse to accept the complaint and repair the fault.
    I even told call center that, i am willing to pay for repairs, but there is no action on this.

    I am planning to first of all STOP buying from hometown, pursuade others not to go to hometown due to worst service and if this problem is not resolved very soon i plan to register a complain to Consumer Court.

    I totally agree, I have also similer experience of poor service of Hometown people.

      This is for whosoever reading it and wishes to act,
      It is with great regret that i express my complaint against the Staff of BIG BAZAAR Durgapur branch,
      I was Approached by a gentleman working in the Kids section on the second floor of the mall, where i was told in a most unfriendly and irritable manner "Not to touch the Toys"
      I do not see how i wud purchase the product unless i am holding it.
      I hope the Management teaches their employees to be a little approachful to the respective customers and act accordingly, thus selecting someone with such attitude,
      regards.
      Very Very Bad after sale service. We purchase a Microwave Oven from Durgapur BigBazar now the Oven is out of order.We complaint this thing to the BigBazar but the BigBazar's Electronic Division...

      This is to info u that Bigbazaar, Durgapur branch located at City center Durgapur is a basketful of cheat. Don't know its the big boss who is involved or not but the salesmen cheated me by giving free gift coupon of simcard T24 with promising about Rs135.talktime on buying items for about Rs 4000 on 2nd feb2011.I am an army officer of the rank of Major at present.They took my photograph and xerox copy of my Driving license of activating the sim card and talktime, but they never turn up.So I decided to produce this to consumer's club and most of all I advice all my colleagues, superiors and subordinates of the Indian Army to avoid this so called BIGBAZAAR and GO FOR SPENCER which is truthful and take care of their customers 10 times more than them .

        I had booked 2 mattresses at Hometown on 27th Dec and tried cancelling 1 of the orders but they are refusing saying the product has been dispatched from the factory and so on. When i called up to follow up on the delivery the concerned person (Vijay Tiwari and Krishna) said there is a strike/bandh and all that and it would take at least 15-20 days for the your order. the moment i said cancel the order the sales guy called up someone and told its on its way and will be delivered in 2 days!! Absolutely cheating and pushing the product down your throat!!

        I spoke to the manager Mr. Atul he said he would check and get back the next day (we had already wasted 3-4 days just in conversation). after 2 follow ups he also gave the same answer! India is horrible in terms of post sales!

        The receipt that we got doesn't have anything regarding the cancellation. They are not even ready to take it back (return) since i have a genuine reason (medical grounds). There is no policy mentioned in the document that was given as a receipt, which mean i should be able to return the product within a stipulated time.

        So its a complete case of cheating, false information, misguiding consumers! Absolutely unfriendly people at Hometown (Future Group), Ishanya Mall, Pune.

        Hometown Pune — delayed delivery and wrong items

        hometown pune is probably the best place to go if you are looking for months of frustration and harrassment at the hands of staff and management. On 4 different occasions i have bought stuff there and each and everytime they have been consistent in their false promises of delivery date, wrong/faulty item delivery...not responding to repeated calls and visits etc despite speaking to their manager.

        My Advise is to always stay away...my golden rule...if you can't carry the item out of the store with you, dont buy it from hometown.

          We bought a Dining Table for the first time , we suffered from false commitments, the second time, a bedroom set, we again suffered from the same problem,this time just last Sunday, after being given a business card to substantiate his tall claims, Mr Prashant Parekh, the Sales Manager of Kolkata Hometown missed it again. It seems they have a habit of betraying the customers trust. They talk big about their service commitments, even their adverts talking about 10 - 30% Discounts are a bluff.Nobody knows, what the discount coupons can buy you..everybody is asking everybody else..what to offer. Leave alone all those , the service deliveries, the products being installed, everything happens at their own sweet will, totally disregarding the customers need or convenience.The whole day has to be sacrificed for getting the delivery, thats not all, you need to wait another 48 hrs+ to get it assembled..The question is , is anybody listening ? We the customers suffer, but is there a place to go or a person to whom the complaints can be made?

          That is true. I am having a similar experience. I bought a refrigerator during Diwali and was promised that it will be delivered within 2 weeks. Now after a month when I called them to know about the status they say that they do not have stock and that we will have to change our model and if price is higher we will have to pay extra. Even after threatening them to complaint to the higher levels, they did not took any actions to supply me the product that I had paid for. Home Town was a reputed brand in my mind but after this experience I would like everyone to know the truth. Better purchase things from small dealers. At least they give you the assurance of faster deliver without any hassles.

            Hi Bought a Sofa and a Dining Table with a pre-sales commitment of a delivery to made within 72hours from their Dankuni ware house and fitment on the same day or within 12 hours of delivery... These things were clearly mentioned in my Bill before the final purchase.. However their Warehouse failed to deliver the product 5 days of purchase. If this the kind of Service Mr Mahesh Shah, CEO of Hometown thinks would attract the customers. Am sorry to say the Future Group seems to have a bleak Future.

            Am going to consumer court for a full Refund with interest and Mental Harrasment & Torture I have gone through to create a communication bridge between their internal Organizations.

            The entire team of Home Town are really a bunch of , who are probably thinking that they are working in a Govt Office. The sales guys are not excited to see the customers and forget about selling..

            Am also faxing a document to Mr Shah's office, congratulating him on his Herculeon Task of creating such a World Class Organization, which will close sooner than I hoped....

              Dear Sir/Madam,

              This mail is in regards to overcharging and rude behaviour of Big Bazaar Staff at Vashi, Raghuleela Mall.
              I purchased 4 packets of Kara coconut milk from Big Bazaar Vashi on 30 Dec at 17:13. The MRP was Rs. 22 per pack. While billing the cashier Mr. Vijay Tripathi, charged me rs. 150.48 for 4 packets of Kara coconut milk. At the time of leaving the store i checked the bill and asked him regarding cost of product. He didnt answer properly and when we told him it was 22 rs he started arguiung with me and my husband. He was very rude and asked to go down and collect the refund from customer care counter. Then i asked him to call the supervisor and he started using abusive language. When we asked for the refund again he vanished from the spot. The store manager Mr.Rahul Bijawar came after 10 min and did not give us a satisfactory answer.He blamed the billing system and said it was difficult to keep a tab on each and every item in the store. He refunded rs 63 but the cashier was not ready to accept his mistake and did not even bother to apologize.
              This is very sad and disappointing regarding a store like Big Bazaar and Food Bazaar and henceforth should stop such pratices and take strict action against such mannerless staff who have no etiqutes of talking to customers. This has caused us severe mental harssment.
              Please do the needful.

                I bought a Senator Bed Set with Coir Mattress, Side Stand and Senator Cupboard with Mirror from Big Bazaar, Coimbatore branch on 16th Aug'09 which was paid for fully by credit card on the same day. The same was delivered as promised within a week and the person came and assembled the same in my house. Within 3 months of the product being in my house, the Bed has cracked at the headboard, the screws have come off and the bed is giving a creaking sound when you sit on it. Today the door of the cupboard fell off, fortunately my daughter escaped from being hurt as she moved off just some minutes back or else it would have fell on her. I have been calling the furniture dept manager to inspect and replace the goods. Today i have given him an ultimatum to take the goods back and replace with a fresh pc or return my money immediately. If the issue is not resolved with the next couple of day, i will have no alternative but to take it to Big Bazaar and dump it in front of their shop.

                Can any senior manager from Big Bazaar get in touch with me and have this issue resolved on an immediate basis.

                  On 20th December 2009,I purchased Kurta & Pyzama in Big bazar ,Ameerpet, Hyderabad. I paid the bill for the both but in return i got only kurta in sealed Packing.After coming to home i checked sealed packing.And i apologize for my mistake & on 21st I went to that big bazar and asked for my pyzama to the concerned staff,they are not responding at all.So please consider my issue

                    I have purchases pulses and other items from big bazaar, invoice no. #726/15670 dated 11/11/09, some pulese like rajma & tur dal price tag on pulse packet as well as shown on local counter was 35Rs/500Gm & 122 Rs/kg respectivly, but when i cross check items with bill after purchasing these product , i found that these charge 36 Rs /500 Gm &134 Rs/kg respectively.
                    I complaint to there customer care counter next day the customer care representative checked after spending one hours to other work and confirmed that there is mistake from there end but he could not do any thing this time as his seniour was not available that time , as per him we can claim this amount any time , so when after few days we went there then another representative was there and according to him they entertain any complaint within one week, so they are unable to do any thing.
                    This is realy shame that how they treat to there customer while the problem is at there end , i register my complaint not for money but to improve our system.

                      I had visited at BIG BAZAAR, RUDRA POINT, S G HIGHWAY, AHMEDABAD,[protected] yesterday(13.12.2009) and deposited my luggage at the baggage counter(at 1420 hrs) and took the token from the lady. When I returned back to claim the luggage ( at 1610 hrs), i came to knew that the luggage was missing. As the luggage was submitted at counter so it was your responsibility to take care of luggage. i was having my documents and new clothing and some other miscellaneous items in the bag. On enquiring regarding the bag nobody provided a satisfactory reply and in the end they had taken token from me also.
                      The very next after talking to Mr. vishal of BIG BAZAAR, RUDRA POINT, S G HIGHWAY, AHMEDABAD he was ready to pay for the reshopping and also arrange for the issue of the duplicate documents. but after receiving the list of items for me he completely denied occurance of such incident on that day and refused to cooperate.

                        I HAD VISITED HOMETOWN KOLKATA JUST YESTERDAY, I SELECTED A BED FOR MY KID, THEN THEY GAVE A SERVICE ASSURANCE FORM, WHERE IT WAS WRITTEN THAT IF THEY WONT BE ABLE TO SUPPLY ME THE PRODUCT THEN THEY WILL RETURM NY MONEY THROUGH CREDIT NOTE, I ASKED THEM THAT I DISAGREE WITH THE POINT, THEN THE DM Mr. S.DEY TOLD ME THAT I CAN WRITE ON THE FORM THAT I DISAGREE WITH THE POINT. IT WAS OK TILL THAT TIME , THEN I WENT TO GIVE THE ADVANCE AT CASH POINT WHERE I HAD PAID THE 25% OF PAYMENT THEN THE SALES PERSON BROUGHT THE FORM AND SUDDENLY I SAW THAT ON THE FORM ITS WRITTEN THAT MY CONDITION IS UNACCEPTABLE. I HAD TO RUSH TO THE CONCERN DM AND I ASKED WHY HE HAS WRITTEN THAT MY CONDITION IS UNACCEPTABLE THAT TOO IN MY ABSENCE WHY HE HAS WRITTEN THE SAME. UNFORTUNATELY I HAD TO USE SOME BAD WORDS. IN THE MEAN TIME SOME SENIOR OFFICIALS CAME AND STARED PUSHING ME AND ONE OF THEM WAS Mr. ROYCHOUDHARY, THE COMMERCIAL MANAGER WHO BLUNTLY TOLD ME THAT I CAN COMPLAINT TO THEIR HO AND HE STARTED THREATENING ME AND ASKED HIS GUARDS TO THROW ME OUT OF THE STORE. I WOULD LIKE TO ASK Mr. KISHORE BIYANI THAT IS THIS THE SERVICE FUTURE GROUP IS PROUD OF. I HAD A LOT OF RESPECT FOR FUTURE GROUP BUT NOW LOST ALL AND I WILL SEE TO IT THAT THIS STORY WILL BE PUBLISHED EVERYWHERE.

                          I purchased one metal bed from Big bazaar, cinchwad ,Bill No- T8/49250, delivery date - 2/1/2009, Cost- 6498/-

                          and the bed was not strong , thats why the leg bend and the bed also, we cannot use that bed, due to bad condition , i had given written complaint to big bazaar, they r just avoiding my complaint ,
                          they told me i will give one year warranty,

                            Big bazaar (Trivandrum) is cheating people with discounts. They hype their discounts, but in effect when the VAT is added, then the total price will come to MRP of the item.

                            I want to alert all shoppers of big bazaar - this is correct - big bazaar may or may not have trained their staff to handle such big volumes of shoppers - i have already faced this problem twice - so it may not be big bazaar doing this.. but the ignorant staff - advice - check your bill always before leaving big bazaar

                              Big Bazaar MRP was more than the MRP of the manufacturer. i could see it as the sticker was not placed properly over the original price tag of manufacturer.
                              Such incidence makes you feel cheated as i had been a regular customer for almost twice a week since last 5 months. Minimum 20-25 visits so far as their outlet in Kalyani nagar, Pune is walking distance from my home. I dont know how many times have i been cheated like this since then and for what amount.
                              Such centres should be banned of their licenses and not to be allowed future licensing for some period.
                              I have proof of this incidence and has kept it for future reference and escalation to the consumer forum.
                              People, be aware on Big Bazaar purchases as they claim to be cheap, but we land up paying more.

                                I ordered a washing machine from home town by paying 4000/- rs(Approx 60% money of full amount) as advance and they committed me to deliver my order till 1 dec 2009 but till now i did not get my product.I make call lot of times but they all of them are not giving me proper reply.

                                At first time when i book order executives pressurized me to pay full payment but when i was not agree then they agree to take 4000/-rs as advance now after 10 days when i called him they all pressurized me to change order or take money back, not giving any kind of proper reply for why i do this.

                                  I dont know whether these forums are checked by repective authorities or any action will be taken. But i just want to let people know about the rude attitude shown by the staffs in Big Bazaar Manglore.
                                  Yesterday i went to Big Bazaar Mangalore and purchased an item to gift to my friend. I asked to the person at the counter and made sure that the item will be gift wrapped before i made the payment. Also the person who billed confirmed that they will Gift wrap it.
                                  I went to the counter where they Gift wrap the items and i asked the supervisor. He told me to wait for some time. Since there were couple of people who were in the queue i waited, and most of them came to collect the free gifts and to drop the coupons. I waited for almost 30 minutes and i didnt get my item gift arapped. There were lot of stafs who were idle and were simply walking here and there. I lose patience and i went out with my item not getting wrapped. I told the supervisor that its not fair and being an exective of Big Bazaar this is not how they should take care of customers. He was very rude to me and he told he cant help it. He could have asked any of the staff who was idle that time to get that Gift wrapped. But he did not took any action.

                                    I have been gifted with a couple of vouchers from my company.They are issued to me on the 16th of May as per the date on the Voucher.

                                    However I have received them only by the end of the Month.

                                    I have tried to redeem the same on the 27th of Nov,the agent says that they are expired as the date has already passed 6 months. Unaware of the whole procedure I have kept the vouchers since a long time.

                                    They are 4 Vouchers each worth 500.00, which amounts to a good sum.Request you to help me out with the situation so that I can utilize the same.

                                    sir i buy tata photon data card before 3 days they give the 600 rs gift voucher(big bazaar)wher i get.how i get this gift sir.plz give detail information...
                                    I am writting as one of the most dissatiesfied customers of Big Bazzar. I wanted to get Gift Voucher for Rs.3000/- and went to Big Bazzar J.P. Nagar Branch a few days back. The floor manager said they could not give vouchers as the same can not be billed due to serer issues ! Then I went to Big Bazzar situated at Shanthi Nagar Bus stop, voucchers were stocked out !
                                    Today I went to J.P. Nagar Branch again, some of the people attending customers not even know what is a gift vouchers ( poor knowledge of staff) and finally the shop floor manager said, they could not give today and told me to come tomorrow - Reason, the concerned person is not available today !
                                    How rediculous is this, such a big firm playing foot ball with the customer, especially when I intend to give business to them !!!
                                    This behaiour would not help - I have decided not to enter any Big Bazzar branch any more !!!!

                                      I have to admit that the overall service extended to me by Home Town (New Town, Kolkata) has been pathetic and highly unsatisfactory. I have been complaining and escalating the issue at regular interval, but things are really getting worse and unbearable for me. I have never seen/heard about such case. It has been most annoying and frustrating shopping experience for me.
                                      I was told by the representative/managers at the time of purchase/delivery/grievance redressal.
                                      1. Floor Piece is not delivered. – It was told to me that the floor piece (on display) is not for delivery and Customer will always get a fresh piece from the warehouse. For this reason, I was told that fresh piece of consignment will be delivered to me and it will take maximum of 45 days.I agreed to that. But after doing lot of follow-up, Queen bed, Shoe Cabinet and 4D wardrobe was delivered to me . I was shocked & surprised to see the 4D wardrobe in bubble packing and when I called up your representative, they accepted that floor piece has been delivered to me. Then, what about the policy? Does it change on regular basis? When they had to deliver me a floor piece then why to wait for so many days..!!
                                      2. Regressive Quality Check – When the side table was not delivered along with other items, I was told that dresser got damaged in transit and as per the policy, it can not be delivered and then we agreed to have delivery after another 10 days. After 10 days, we got the dresser, but it was a damaged piece. When the same damaged piece was to be delivered then why to waste 10 more days?
                                      3. Customer Service -- It has happen not once, not twice but thrice that I have to spend my whole day waiting for either the delivery van or fitter but no one turns up. Last Sunday (22nd Nov 2009), fitter was supposed to come to my home around 10:30 AM to complete the unfinished tasks and replace the damaged dresser but till date I have not got any update from their end. I am so frustrated with the representative that I do not feel like calling them and as usual they never care to call me to give any update on any of my complaints. My grievance has been heard by many managers , but the end result is same (unacceptable & dissatisfactory).
                                      There seems to be no cooperation among the departments themselves. They are unaware of the things and every department gives a different information if asked or chased.

                                      This was reallly the worst shopping experience I have ever had and seriously in future wont go or recommend hometown to anyone. Now thing better are the small shops / local shops than running behind these so called brand names.

                                      Dear Sir/Madam

                                      I, Dr. Nalini Hasgekar, am a customer of BPL Mobile for last 5 years. I was happy with the services. Fiteen days back suddenly my cell started showing SIM ERROR. I missed several important calls during this period. After calling to your helpline(50800) the officer on line said I should go to the BPL Gallery. On Sat. 4th Oct. 08 I went to the BPL Gallery opp. Sitaldevi Temple. Mr. Manish on the desk said there is no problem with the sim card & I should change my handset. So went and bought a new handset and put the sim card. The problem of sim error was not solved but on the other hand I spoiled my new handset and had to get serviced within a day of purchase. On Sat. 11th again I visited the same gallery and got the sim card replaced by paying Rs. 100/- The girl on the desk said the sim will get activated within two hrs. and there no need of any documents for veryfication . till Monday evening i.e.after 48hrs also it was not activated. I called at 50800 and the officer said it will start by next day morning(i.e. Tuesday morning) but now today at this moment 84 hours are over and still it is not activated. This is happening not only with me but others also. In my two visits I found atleast 5 customers in the gallery were unsatisfied and had arguments with the officers and rightly getting bugged because of the unsatifactory answers and service of the staff in this Gallery. Infact two of them cancelled their sim and went away. I would request you look in to the matter if the problem is with this perticular gallery and please try to improve the services. Otherwise you may loose your customers very soon.

                                      I have bought a dressing table in 15th august 2009 and as they were out of stock of the dressing table they asked me 1 month for the delivery and they had already been taken the advance before but it passed 1 month stil there was no reply we gave regular reminders but they were no response and they always had one or the other excuses that the dressing table got damaged while transporting to kolkata or it is out of stock and as usual they were lots of excuses but it had been many months they were still no step taken it has been after many reminders and callsss we got the dressing table on 22nd november 2009 almost after three and a half months later, then the dressing table was kept for many days and there were no people coming from home town for fitting it after frequent calls, finally after 15 days the fitter came and then also while fitting the fitter himself cracked the mirror and now it has been 1 months and still no response. On 26th december 2009 we went to home town and had a talk to the manager and they promised to replace the mirror and fit it within 3 days but still no action has been taken and though we are calling constanty but the misbehaviour of the manager made us disgusted of them, we are very regreted for buying from home town .It is my earnest request to take action as early as possible.I am waiting for your reply.

                                      I have interacted with Sukanka & Arindam & both are equally good at making false promises, the fault is not theirs either, as its home town mgt who as to come up with more customer centric policies so that they dont deliver damaged products again n again. Can you beat it I was delivered a warddrobe thrice..one damanged and twice wrong parts !!! I suggest hometown employees shud quit their jobs rather than listening to customer complaints whole day..

                                      I newly moved to Kolkata and hence had to buy all house furniture from scratch.
                                      I had ordered a complete room set (including a Queen bed, a dresser, a side table and a 3 door wardrobe) on the 1st of Feb, 2010.
                                      Till date I have not received any updates on the Wardrobe and Dresser inpite of my calling several times to the Customer Care.
                                      Even the earlier stuff that was delivered was late delivery followed by late fittment followed by late replacement of broken parts.
                                      The worst part is they never even bother to inform you of any delay or discrepancies.
                                      Every time I call they tell me they will get back which they never do.
                                      This has been frustrating and the worst part is I have to still live out of my suitcases.
                                      If they cannot deliver stuffs on time, why take all the money in advance and promise and make people pass through such pain.
                                      This is not expected out of a brand name.

                                      I bought a complete room set including Queen bed, a dresser, a side table and a 3 door wardrobe. The furniture quality is so bad that within 4 months the wardrobe locks stopped working and the plies bent down.Same condition is also with the bed too. Now the wardrobe is leaning forward so dangerously that it could cause an accident at any moment. Several times I followed up with the customer service and each time they made false commitment of sending service from their fitting department.No service had been provided by the "HOME TOWN". They are simply avoiding the complains.

                                      THIS IS A KIND ADVISE, AVOID BUYING ANY PRODUCTS FROM HOMETOWN, KOLKATA.

Promise to deliver my bed when got delayed, I had to run after them to get a new date. They have no sense of customer service - no bisiness etiquettes and best example of the archaic philosophy of- "customers exist because their business exists" Their head of Customer head even goes to the lenght of saying that we had not remembered the promise made by them... After the delay of 15 days, they made a revised promise of delivering it today between 5 to 6 pm ...appareantly the delivery van had a punctured tyrre as reported at 5 pm and since it takes more than 6 hrs to repair a tyre and it is 11.30 pm and I am still awaiting my stuff...unproffesional unethical to say the least...well I will have a view on the quality only when i get my stuff. God save me teh way things are going ..dont know what will be the experience then
                                      Hello people. Dnt ever try 2plan out to buy any furniture at Home Town. Salesmen are worst, don't have any idea to price and product features. Moreover any item u decide and finalize by yourself to buy; ultimately a polite reply wl tell u " Sir we do not have this item in stock". Also imagine about delivery norms, u pay the price and wait for three long days for delivery, which they say is their policy and another 2days to wait for fitter to do rest work. Truly Hometown has a wide display area with lots of products on display, but the item u choose will never exist in their stock. Hats off to the management as why they have opened such a mall where products are not available and distribution system is faulty. A better alternative to buy is from Ezone at Mani Sqare Mall. Products are choiceable and worth the price.

                                      I had bought a TV cabinet from Home Town, Kolkata on Aug, 2010. The stuff that was delivered to me was damaged. Though Home Town assured me that they will send personel to mend the damages but it never happened. I tried to contact them over phone atleast for 50 times. They are very casual to pick up the call. Once one kind hearted fellow picked up the phone and assured me of the service which again never happened. I feel I am cheated.
                                      I was told by many friends not to buy any big item from Home Town, Alas I didn't listen and agree to pay 25K advance for a sofa of 1.40 lacs, with a request to hold it for 18 days. My ordeal started. After waiting for over half an hour to pay advance, was told computer was not updated, another 15 minutes and finally hand written receipt was given with confirmation that Sofa set piece was lying in store and blocked for me. 2 days after I got a phone to pick up sofa in 4 days else pay holding charges. Got my renovation completed at extra cost and called up Home Town and was informed that Sofa was not ready, in fact it was never in store the day I booked it. I was informed that fresh order is placed and is expected by 4-5 November (close to Diwali) that too not sure, called up en number of times, there is no response, sales man says talk to assistant Manager, who says talk to customer Manager, who is unapproachable, all senior officials phones are not reachable as they all sit in basement.                                       Well, to me the hometown experience has been a mixed bag, possibly because I knew someone beforehand. I bought stuff for my new flat which includes sofas, recliner, coffee table, bar, bedroom sets(for 2 bedrooms), dinning table with chairs, extra wardrobe, bin bags, curtains, bedsheets, duvets, etc. All worth a little more than 3 lacs. The delivery and fitting was promptly done as promised and I was really impressed. But unfortunately there were a few problems with the fittings owing to wrong/short supply. I was initially a little disturbed as we had set a deadline to shift to the new flat. We were not expecting much from them but since we had humbly requested that we are really desperate to shift to the new flat at the earliest, we thought that they might take things a little earnestly. It took a lot of phone calls and cajoling to pursuade them to pursue my case. It has been more than a week since the fitting was done but me and wife are still hopefull that maybe by tomorrow all the pending jobs would be taken care of and our predicament would be finally over. I strongly believe that HOMETOWN KOLKATA does not really believe in customer satisfaction, cause I spend more than nine months a year abroad and I have seen how customers are treated. You cannot run a business by antagonising your customers cause if they cannot do any good they can surely do bad to your business.                                       Home Town is probably the worst amongst the Future Group. Display & variety might make you impressed, but the quality of product is shockingly poor. The behaviour of the sales person is equally unprofessional. The very first time I visited Hometown to buy GEYSER & AC, I was just passing bye the photo frame store..Those were kept in such manner in the shelf, that one of them fell into the floor. It was of Rs 800.. & the pasting, frame was so poor & the roughted, cheap iron nails was broken in such a way that it seemed to be of plastic!!.. It was of sooo rubbish quality.
                                      The salesboy immediately asked me to pay the money to which I agreed & payed it also. But I wanted to talk to the manager to show him such a poor quality of a photo piece which they sold for Rs 800 !!
                                      He, as usual, did not acknowldge it at all & told these photos come from Mumbai & they are not responsible for the QUALITY OF THE PRODUCT !!! Imagine...
                                      I have informd all of my frnds/relatives to not to get deceived by the glamour of home down products.. but to judge the quality first & then decide..
                                      I personally would never ever go to a shop so poor like HOPETOWN..
                                      Also, would like to mention if you just search googe with Hometown Kolkata, it will show first 3 entries out of 5 full of complaints...

                                      Home Town is one of most unprofessional bunch of people collected together to decive and fool people by good looks of the showroom. Worst quality furniture, no after sales service, no customer care attitude and false promises. They just don't bother after they get the money. Simply a bunch of crooks to cheat people any way they can.

                                      I have suffered enough for last one month after spenading good 45 K through buying a solid wood dining set and helplessly seeing it cracking piece by piece (wonder if it can ever happen in solid wood furniture !) and Hometown guys laughing their heart out on my pitiable situation.

                                      Sir,

                                      With deep regret, I like to bring to your notice the following facts for taking legal action:

                                      That on 28.10.2010, Smt Baby Sadhukhan, Lady Peon of Ichhapur- Nawabganj Post Office, Pin 743144, 24 Pgs(N), W.B., India refused to deliver my Registered with A/D Letter to my mother in spite of her request and on production of Authorization Letter which has duly been attested by the said Lady Peon and she ordered to collect the same from the Nawabganj Post Office.

                                      On 30.10.2010, I compelled to collect the said letter from Nawabganj Post office and again requested her to deliver my letter to my mother as authorization letter is lying with my mother but she ordered me to type out a new authorization letter and specimen signature of authorized persons will have to be attested in her presence at my residence, but till date neither she has come to complete the formalities nor intimated anything in this regard.

                                      On 27.7.2009 also, the said lady peon had taken back a registered letter without delivering the same in spite of requests of my mother & wife of my brother and even on production of authorization letter on my behalf and on the next day i.e. on 28.7.09, the undersigned went to collect the said registered letter from Nawabganj post office but the lady peon was not available from 9 AM to 10 AM and even she has not come to deliver the said Registered Letter for 2nd time since 28.7.2009 and for which a complaint has lodged to the concerned post Master & sent through courier vide letter dated 2.10.2010 and the same has acknowledged but neither any action has taken nor feel any courtesy to reply for the same by the Post Master of the Nawabganj Post Office.

                                      In past also she had not delivered Registered Letter which had been verbally reported to the Post Master of Nawabganj Post Office but no action has been taken from their end.

                                      It can bring to your notice that the previous postman was usually delivering my Registered Letters/parcels/postal materials/documents to my mother/authorized representative at my residence in my absence. Lady peon could have taken the witnesses
                                      at the time of delivering my letter in my absence. without returning the same on one visit and to pushed me in soup & forced to incur huge financial loss in the long run.

                                      As I am working with a leading International Educational Institution as Top Executive with lot of work pressure, so, I cannot take leave on my sweet will.

                                      In this regard I have lodged a complaint to the Post Master of Nawabganj Post Office, Ichhapur-Nawabganj, Pin 743144, Dist 24 Pgs(N), W.B., India which has been acknowledged by their office on 12.8.2009 but neither any action has been taken from their end nor any reply has been made to the undersigned till date which has not only denigrated the reliability/authenticity/service utility of the Post Office but also loss of Government revenue.

                                      The act of lady peon has reflected carelessness, negligence in duty, willful insubordination and contrary to the law and for her malicious & malafide intention, the undersigned forced to bear huge financial loss.

                                      So, May I request you, sir, to call for a report from the Post Master of Ichhapur-Nawabganj(Pin 743144) Post Office and take appropriate legal action in this regard so that proper service will restore in future & illegal activities should be stopped and banish for ever for the benefit of all, otherwise private couriers will occupy the place of Government Post Offices..

                                      I am a frequent visitor to Home town, kolkata. I was contemplating buying some furniture from Home Town, but after reading the posts have decided otherwise.
                                      I may add that I too have had some unsavoury experience at Home Town recently. My wife had bought a kitchen accessory. While checking out we were billed an amount which turned out to be greater than the amount printed on the tag attached to the purchased item. What was inexplicable was the fact that the serial number (printed with the bar code) in the tag matched entirely with the number printed in the bill ! The hapless salesman at the check out counter was of little help and we had no option but to leave in a huff!!
                                      Having said that, I may add that we do visit Home Town once a month and do enjoy the experience of shopping for our little needs. It just needs to be more professional, not only in its outlook ( which it already is) but also inside.

                                      I am trying to get in touch with D & Y team for quite a long time.
                                      My phone calls are kept on waiting for minutes and out of frustration i have to hang it up. i was curious to know if the product will really be delivered,after reading about cheating and fraud cases about the company.

                                      I got my bathroom refitted from Hometown and boy what an experience it was. In fact the process is still going on. Just had a conversation with one of the managers regarding the leakage in my wash basin.
                                      A 15 day job turned iut to be a three month nightmare (still facing problems after so called completion). There was no coordination among the different workers. They all worked independently without talking to each other and created a complete mess. Not a single thing got done in one iteration. Several reworks were called for and the quality of the work done in the end was also very very poor. the managers are utterly useless people with no sense of responsibility, when you complain they say its not their fault and that they are just employees of hometown.
                                      Hometown has made me realize that a 5X7 bathroom could cause so much misery.
                                      I have suffered at their hands and would like to warn everyone of you out there never to use thier services ever. They will make your life hell

                                      Best to avoid Home Town, E-Zone, Pantaloons & Big Bazar 'Coz they all belong to the same Group and all their services will leave you frustrated.                                       I wish I read your comments before agreeing to my wife's suggestion to buy furniture from Hometown, I was on a short trip to Calcutta from the US and wanted to buy a wardrobe for my flat. I paid all the money upfront and then they supplied the unassembled wardrobe -damaged in transit and of a completely different colour. For almost ten days we were going back and forth, making phone calls and personal visits, They refused to refund, Eventually the wardrobe was delivered and assembled a few hours before I was leaving Calcutta, I also bought furniture from local shops without making full payment upfrint- but their delivery and the service were prompt unlike Home Town's. I will never buy from Home Town,

                                      I had purchased a kitchen utility stand from Hometown on 23/05/12 and I understood it was to be delivered on 28/05/12. I had wanted a wardrobe, a book shelf and a kitchen stand urgently as I was shifting to a new flat. I was told that the wardrobe and book shelf were not in stock and I would have to wait for a month after paying the full amount. As the kitchen stand was in stock I decided to buy it on assurance from the salesman that the same would be delivered on 28/05/12 without the need for my following up. I got a call from 'Hometown' for delivery on 26/05/12 and I said that the delivery may be done on 28/05/12 as assured. I did not get the kitchen stand on 28/05/12 nor was there any call from 'Hometown'. On 29/05/12 I called many times but could not get through and finally in the evening when i got through, I requested for delivery that day itself as i would not be in kolkata from 30/05/12 to 08/06/12. I clearly mentioned that if delivery cannot be made on 29/05/12, my order may be treated as cancelled and my money be refunded. ‘Hometown’ assured me that if delivery was not made on 29/05/12, the order would be cancelled and my money refunded in five days. In spite of clear instructions I got many calls on 29/05/12 from 'Hometown' saying that delivery would be done on 30/05/12 and many calls on 30/05/12 and a call again today, that is on 31/05/12, to give the delivery when I am not available in kolkata and after i have cancelled my order and requested for refund. As it appears that 'Hometown' is quite disorganised and has no concern for customer service and in spite of cancelling the order, has not acknowledged the same, I had to look out in the net for logging this matter. Had I seen the numerous similar complaints on the net I would never have visited Hometown.
                                      HOMETOWN KOLKATA IS HORRIBLE IN SERVICE. YOU ARE A PREY OF THESE PEOPLE ONCE YOU HAVE MADE THE PAYMENT.
                                      THESE PEOPLE DONT DELIVER IN TIME. YOU CALL THEM TO HEAR STORIES FOR THE DELAY.THEY SUPPLY DAMAGED STUFF AND CANNOT FIX THE FURNITURE.

                                      I fully agree to you. I had ordered a queen size bed, a orthopedic mattress, and a cabinet for my aging mother. They delivered all three items but the mattress was not orthopedic. This was especially ordered because it is recommended by the doctor. First the delivery took over tree weeks. Finally I have been charged more but delivered a wrong mattress . My mother who stays alone accepted it not realizing it was not the right mattress but now they are refusing to change. It is hardly a week or so old and not damaged anyway. This has been purchased from the new store in diamond plaza. Horrible unfriendly service and no respect even when my visited the store alone and called them several times. I would not recommend anyone to go to the store. Very unprofessional attitude and they do not meet the international standards.

                                      I drop my idea to visit Hometown to buy furniture etc. for my new flat after going through all your comments. I do advise all who were cheated to go to consumer forum. This runs in every district usually attached to DM's office or district court. You need not take any lawyer or spend any money.                                       I too agree with a lot of you. I have bought a dining set, a 3 door wardrobe and a Queen size bed with a side table from the siliguri store in Feb 2014. The dining table is damaged and when I informed the store keeper, I was promised a replacement soon. Later I received a call from customer care and was informed that they are lodging a complaint and the set will be replaced soon. After few days, I again received a call from the customer care and I was told that since the model is out of stock so now I can either go the showroom and choose another set or else they would repair as it does not make sense to pay for a brand new product and then accept a repair. I opted for the first option and went to check if I could get something of the same cost as I have paid for the first piece. However I could not find any Dining set of my choice for the same cost. I told the manager that I did not like any of the dining set of the same cost ad hence I either need the same model or else I need the refund. At that point of time the manager told that they do not have the same model and refund is also not possible. Later the next day I received a call from the customer care and I was informed that now they have the same model and that they will exchange the set in 15 days. I fail to understand, initially I was denied replacement of the same model so how come all of a sudden they have the same model available in stock when it was clarified both by the manager of the siliguri store as well as by the customer care that they do not have the same model for replacement.

                                      Also there are minor scratches on the wardrobe and on the bed. It does not make sense that I pay for a brand new product and then I get a product with scratches.

                                      It seems that it is the fault of hometown across India to play with the sentiments of the consumers and make a fool out of everyone and not to value the hard earned money of the customers.

                                        this is to bring to notice the false committments made by peope at hometown,Pune branch.At the time of making the deal for our 2 modular kitachens (costin 4 lacs in total) and 2 modular wardrope (cosing 2 lacs in total) Mr. Sarfaraz mob no [protected] ,MS pranita[protected] and Mr. Anil Pande mob no [protected] were so nice with us .As soon as the order was booked, we got no response from them.We had given the kitchen order on 3rd Aug 2009 and wardrope order on 23 Aug 2009. When we contacted them for delivery after the time gap mentioned in their agreement ,they said they would get back to us. We were then directed to Mr Ashish mob no [protected] who they said was the product incharge. We got our delivery finally for the kitchens in which skirting was short, fillers were short and boxes were broken . When we contacted Mr sarfaraz ,Mr pandey ,Ms Pranita and Mr Ashish they were totally not aware of the above mentioned fact. Mr Anil Pandey was always having the attitude of callin back which he never did.Even on our repeated calls to him , he finally stared ignoring the calls . Finally we got half of the above menitoned shotage material after nearly 1 month and repeated follow ups . Mr Sarfaraz stared abusing us over the phone with no dignity towards the customer when we told him about our complaint. This was the worst sales team we had ever come across dudring our lifetime. Today it is nov 27 2009 and my kitchen and wardropes are still incomeplete . This makes a total of 4 months for hometown staff after giving full payment to them initially for just getting the shortage material to us. We would be going to consumer court for lingering on the completion for such a long time and unnecessarily blocking our money.

                                        We here demand the completion of the kitchen and wardropes at the earliest with full refund of the money that we have lost for 4 months blockage .We are still not receiving any calls from sarfaraz, pranita ,anil pande and Ashish . Rather we are following up rigourously with them and still they dont have nay clue when the matiral is coming. this is really the worst experience we have had in any kind of sales and future group here should compensate us for the terrible torture that we are undergoing from the above mentioned 4 people of hometown ,pune.
