HP Compaq Laptop — speed of Laptop is very slow

The DVD - RW in my PC has been defective since the start. It can't detect most of the DVDs. Once I booked a complaint since, my DVD writer was not performing at all. It was changed, and a new DVD - RAM was installed. But now, it can't detect a singly DVD. It can however, detect CDs.

The extremely sky rocketing price of HP Compaq Desktops is surely just a waste of money.

I am really sorry that I decided to buy from such a bad company.

I want to increase RAM of my system my model no is HP Model Presario V3000 (GN 367 PA #ACJ) System type is 32-bit operating system and processor is Genuine Intel (R) CPU T20 80 @ 1.73 GHz.
Just let me know how much is this system expandable upto and what is the RAM model compatible to my system.Please do the needfull as soon as possible.
