[Resolved]  HP - Compaq Presario ATU9001 Laptop — Substandard product

This mail is about my Compaq Presario ATU9001. Sr# CND 8073N88.

I am mailing you because the Hard disk in the system crashed on 4th Nov 2008. I have ran a Self check and the error it showing is
(Replace harddisk_1 Warranty ID Error Code 10008)

If you see me case history in the below you will come know that this is fourth time that some wrong has happened to my computer. Its been only 7 month I purchased have the system. Please go through the email below to underhand the complete case history.

Last time I requested replacement of the complete unit but instead the CD Drive was changed (afte 3 times I went to the Service Station in vein).

After all these incidents I am certain that you are selling substandard product in the Indian market. The system I have purchased is not worth Rs. 42, 000.

I am also filing a complaint in the Delhi Consumer Forum of this incident. Please take back the complete unit and return my money. Its a shame that a company like HP is selling substandard products in the market, its certainly a malpractice. I do not want to be your cutomer any more.

I do not and any repair services or replacement services even if it is provided onsite. I want my money back.

This is my right as per the Consumer Law in India that I can claim money back.

Hello there!



This mail is about my Compaq Presario A900. The SR# CND8073N88 and the product # KB162PA#AJC.



I have also registered my complaint online on hp.com. Complaint # CCHSAP165185



I have been facing real hardware problem since I bought it, and the notebook is just six month old.



First, my screen became defective and there was red line in the middle of the screen.



Second the DVD Reader –Writer was not functioning properly, some times it was not able read and there was some mechanical malfunction in the trey.



I took my notebook to the Authorized HP Support Center for repair. Job# J9KS210802. The screen was replaced and DVD trey was functioning properly when it was delivered



But after some time the DVD Reader – Writer stuck. I took it again there and this time they promptly took the matter and on the old job number they repaired the system again (that’s what they told me).



Now today when used the DVD reader-Writer first time after the repair, its not reading just the orange light and no green light. I have made sure by trying a variety of CDs but its still not working.



This matter is very unfortunate and has cast a very bad impression. The only reason I bought a Compaq worth Rs. 42, 000 because of after sales service. But I am disgusted.

This is Asha here n i hv bought Compaq laptop on 13th May and the model no. is 09, CQ 40-327 TU. I hv charging issue tht my charging continues upto 59% only after dat the battery shows FULL CHARGE after disconnection of it again shows 59% only. I serviced it on 29th Dec., 10 in Pune bt still nw the same prob is going so tell me the solution n exact address & contact of HP service Mumbai.
Hope you do my needfull.

HP Laptop A900 — Poor Service

I made the biggest mistake of my life purchasing an HP Laptop. Just a week after the guarantee period, the webcam stopped working. I was fortunate enough to had the guarentee extended. The laptop came with a new screen, but with a webcam which would show only grains.The service centre located at Rajkot got another screen fixed, this time with a better webcam.Though I was not satisfied, I decided not to complain. Within a week I found that the DVD drive would open by itself ,and, anytime I used a pendrive, the system would hang. It was sent again to the service centre .The laptop was sent back to me repaired (?). I had a meeting that day and the entire presentation had to be postponed due to my simply great laptop which hung when I inserted the pendrive.I had to face the wrath of y seniors, thanks to HP.I sent it back, it came to me promptly after week with a new motherboard. Now as I started working a message appeared that my Windows wasnt genuine.I also noticed that the modem was dead.The laptop is now with the service centre at Rajkot and is with him with last one month.The next week which he promises, never ends. I have decided to buy another laptop from some other companyPLEASE DO NOT BUY AN HP LAPTOP.
