Subject: suggestion about a problem facing-non availability of tickets because of big Q.- availability of ticket in trains.
2.re instating the availability of ticket from any station to any station even in advance.
Respected Sir,
With due respect we Citizen of India, want to bring in to your kind attention about the problem we are facing at nilambur road- shornur line. you know that a large number of people are using that line now a days. The facilities of ticket supply is very limited in these stations. So on most occations the Q remains big even after train’s arrival. So t many of the passengers are forced to run to the train without ticket. Previously tickets from other stations also were available. Advanced booking also was very convenient. But now the authorities stopped this facility on unknown reason. I understood that even return tickets are not issuing. in train the examiners treat these tickets- less passengers as culprits. There are many who wishes to obey the law. Don’t force them to do otherways. I think this is not a situation of a particular line.
So I humply request you to see this matter serious. I have some suggestions
1. there should be a facility to get tickets in a particular coach with higher charge(say 30%) . this can be applied in all trains.
2. the facility of advanced booking and any station to any station should reinstated after rectifying the defect.

He was having big machine in his leg..and was totally unable to move even from a seat to another but just because of that TT he has to suffer. This was very very ridiculus job done by him..I know TT was totally wrong even he didnt think about humanity.
I request you to take proper action against them.If India is democratic country.

Indian rail ticket agencies — extra charges
Dear Sir,I would like to draw your kind attention that today i want to travel in rail from ludhian jn.to Jalandhar cantt when i approach the ticket booking agencies window no.57 first they refuse to give passange train ticket after several request he agree to give ticket but he charged two ruppes extra as per rule he can charge one ruppe extra from passenger as per ticket but he charged 11/-from me but instead of Rs.1 he charged Rs.2/-extra when i ask him why he charge Rs.one extra he say is you want to buy ticket or not?.I think railway distribute the ticket agencies to those people whos Dada type. Its very ashame ful to railways if he is not taking necessery step against agencies whos charged extra one ruppe from every passenger i think they people collect throusands ruppies extra till morning to evening. Therefore you are requested to kindly take necessary action against these agencies to avoid the extra charges to passengers whos want to travel in rail other wise it will effect to railways business and image
I understand that we cannot halt the trains for long at every stop, but whosoever is making the decisions about the arrival & departure should also take all the data into consideration before hand.
I'm from Chandigarh. Morning Kalka - Shatbdi Express is scheduled to arrive at 6:48 am and departure at 6:53 am. Today I went to drop my Grandmother who is 80 yrs of age. She walks with a stick and unable to carry her luggage too. The train arrived at the station at 6:49 and it took another 1 minutes for the train to completely stop on the station. There were 600 people to get to the train. While i was trying to find the place on the top racks for the luggage the train started to move. Unable to keep both the luggages I started to get off from a running train. There were people waving on the coach door. I had to struggle to get out and finally jumped out and fell.
What was the fun to pay so much and get to the train. In case it was a AC Bus Coach then it would have been more comfortable to get her to the Bus. 3 mins for 600+ people to get to the train???? and that too a luxury train like Shatabdi? don't you think this is insane? Himalya Queen halts for 10 mins at the same station. As chandigarh is the main station for shatabdi it should halt for 10 mins atleast. I agree that 5 mins is fine for Ambala as there is hardly 100 people getting up and down.
I request the person reading this should forward it to the right person who has a hold in decision making.
Please think and be logical. Thanks in advance.

Dear Sir,
This refers to the PNR No.-[protected], which I got booked for journey of my Father on dated 1/03/2009, from Delhi To Jaynagar Station, in Tatkal Quota of Train No.-4650, IRCTC authorised Agent M/s- Yellow Planet, Rajnagar, Ghaziabad-201001. The supposed journey date was 4/03/2009.
But on above mentioned date the train was late by more than five hrs. As per latest information the train was supposed to arrive at Delhi station very late, My 60 Years old father was not comfortable to catch the train, in such scenario he decided to cancell his journey for the day.
As per the Railway rules & regulations TDR could be filed within 30 Days, I dipposited my father's ticket on 6th March, 2009 at concerned Agent & TDR was filed at the same time. I was given one TDR ref. No. as - ekt[protected] & was told by the agent that you should wait for five to six months.
After seven months, I got information after inquiry that TDR filed by me could not approve & the refund is not possible.
As per agent wording - Your reserved berth was not shown empty by the TTE & now you are not entiteled to get refund.
Here it's not only the matter of five or six hundred refund.
I think this is completely concerned to the public rights which we are not getting.
Why should a general public should face such a biger problem...?
Why the rules are not being followed... ?
Should I move to consumer court... ?
you are requested to please look in to the matter as soon as possible.
Thanks & Regards;

Ms Mamata Banerjee
Minister of Railways
Govt. of India
New Delhi 110 001
Dated : 5 October, 2009
Dear Ms Banerjee
I am 68 and have been traveling by Indian railways throughout India since the age of 8. Whilst significant changes have taken place in the railways, many of which are credit worthy, there is still much to be desired. Please make a careful note of the following : may be you may earn the credit of implementing a few more glaring reforms.
Recently I traveled with my family [wife, daughter and grand daughter] starting from Hyderabad to Jaipur, to Dehli, to Mathura and back. The 10 days tour turned out to be a kind of nightmare on various counts (as discussed below) despite confirmed reservations all through in 2nd AC sleeper.
1. The worst was the experience of transportation of luggage, mainly comprising three suitcases with wheels and an attaché case, just about two coolies load. However, at each station, we ended up being cruelly fleeced by coolies or porters who proved a menace then a help as follows:
a. at Jaipur – Rs 100/- for transportation by trolley by just one coolie from platform 3 to outside
b. at Delhi Cantt – Rs 100/- for transportation by trolley by just one coolie from platform 3 to
outside
c. at Hazrat Nizamuddin – Rs 250/- (!) for transportation by just 2 coolies from out side to
platform 4 to board Taj Exp.
d. at Mathura – Rs 80/- just to load the luggage in AP Exp on platform 1 [the luggage was
brought to platform 1 from out side by US as no coolie was available even at 7 pm]
e. at Sec. – Rs 50/- just to bring out the luggage from platform 1 to outside.
Note that, everywhere, it is not just the hefty amount demanded, but the attitude aimed to
harass the passengers, esp. the ladies and “senior” citizens!
In this context, I suggest the Railways to initiate the following steps :
a. A constant vigil must be available by the Rly. staff to oversee the doings of the coolies;
may be surprise checks by plain-cloth Rly. personnel on platforms to deal with the coolies
when the haggling is going on and cancel the license of coolies on the spot if found asking
exorbitant rates.
b. Provision of escalators on platform at all important stations so that passengers can
transport their luggage easily from platform to platform.
[In Dec 2007, whilst traveling South with family, we were pleasantly surprised to see
Southern Railway having provided escalators at Egmore station and we had no problem
Transporting luggage from platform 1 to 2 or 3]
c. On every platform, at least one side of the foot-over-bridge to be of ramp type (as it used
to be at many stations in good old days), or the existing step-types can be improvised with
a ramp on one side. Since most passengers now carry suitcases with wheels, being fed up
of fleecing coolies, the ramp can be used to easily transport the luggage across the
platforms.
d. Self-service trolleys can be provided, against a small deposit if required, at the entrance
of the station to transport the luggage at least on platform 1
2. The next important point is about the up-keep and cleanliness in the AC coaches which is a far-cry from the times when AC 2-tier coaches were first introduced. I remember the first time I had traveled in AC 2-tier from Chennai (then simply Madras Central) to Howrah by Coromandal Express and the journey turned out to be a truly memorable experience with superb, personalized service. Now this time in AP Exp we witnessed cockroaches and mice freely roaming about around the berths. The window panes were dirty obscuring the view outside. With so much money charged in the name of fares and surcharge, the least the passengers could expect is clean coaches and berths. Why can’t a “safai walah” be provided to look after the coaches during travel? There are nearly 6/7 AC coaches in a typical supper fast train and the expense on an onboard cleaner could be well justified.
3. The help to passengers by the conductors (who just show up once to check the tickets) and attendants, esp. to ladies traveling by themselves and senior citizens like the yours truly by way of helping with the luggage, is never forthcoming. The passengers are generally not aware of their duties and so do not know what to expect. I strongly suggest that a comprehensive list of duties of conductors and attendants be clearly displayed in each AC coach and a complaint book must be available with the conductor to lodge a complaint against the defaulters(It is ridiculous to say that the complaint book is available with guard!).
4. The catering in the coaches, esp. the service for tea and coffee in dirty containers, is not up to the mark even after lot of noise having been made by the ministry now and then and leaves much to be desired. To improve the situation in this regard, I strongly suggest to add an exclusive dining car in between the AC coaches for use by these passengers at their convenience, at an added service charges if necessary, thus mitigating the nuisance of hawkers every few minutes from very early morning to late evening hours causing great discomfort. Please think about it; it may pay off in the long run!
5. I would also like to bring to your notice the ill-designed side upper berths in the 2-tier AC coaches which are particularly inconvenient to use (a torture?) by ladies and senior citizens. These must not be allotted to such passengers and should be automatically adjusted/rescheduled at the time of preparation of charts. If possible, the side upper berths should be completely dispensed with or converted to baggage carriers.
The above are some of the pressing requirements for your immediate attention and action; there may be many more small matters to make the journeys more comfortable and even enjoyable.
Looking forward to an acknowledgement and prompt action from you,
Sincerely yours,

In this context, I suggest the Railways to initiate the following steps :
a. A constant vigil must be available by the Rly. staff to oversee the doings of the coolies;
may be surprise checks by plain-cloth Rly. personnel on platforms to deal with the coolies
when the haggling is going on and cancel the license of coolies on the spot if found asking
exorbitant rates.
b. Provision of escalators on platform at all important stations so that passengers can
transport their luggage easily from platform to platform.
[In Dec 2007, whilst traveling South with family, we were pleasantly surprised to see

Dear Sir,
I m staying in bangalore and it was bus that i relied upon to travel to calicut, now since there is some restriction during night hours through bandi pur national park, its very difficult for us to travel, to calicut and near by districts.
Please put more trains to calicut, like yeswantpur-kannur and also make sure that these trains are on weekends, because of Travels like Al-Hind, PK travels (Railway MOS related travels), even earlier friday scheduled trains from bangalore has been changed to saturday.
Please take our complaint into consideration.

I was travelling at Sri jagannath Exp. and returned by Dhauli Express between Howrah to Puri via Bhubaneswar, there was plenty of cockroaches roaming inside AC coaches, when contact TT, he smartly said coming and vanished. Why Railway trying to make its travellers "friends of cockroaches?"Please do the arrangement by appropriate techniqueor write about the presence of cockroaches in AC coaches.
