Dear Sir,
There is a difference kind of Procedure is followed by the people who are reserving their tickets in Tatkal Quota in Tiruvarur Railway station. As a procedure, people should be there in on a queue in FIFA basis i.e whoever comes first in early morning they will be form a queue. But in the above said station people are keeping the duly filled reservation forms previous day night itself and putting a sl. no. on the form like 1,2,3.... and after keeping those forms they go to home, sleep and will come back on next day morning after 7.30 and will stand as per the sl. no writtened down on the forms. The problem is, even people like me , who reached the station early morning 3.30 AM, forced to put the sl. no and keeping it at the bottom of the forms [nobody will be there]. I asked the passengers who did so, not to do that . But they are fighting with me and told me that this is the procedure is following up in this station. This procedure indirectly accepted by the Tiruvarur Railway reservation counter staffs also. My sincere request is to "put a board infront of the Reservation Counter says that "NO ONE SHOULD KEEP THE FILLED FORMS WITH NUMBERING IN FRONT OF THE COUNTER AND ALL ARE REQUESTED TO KEEP THE FORM WITH YOU ITSELF AND FORM THE QUEUE. ALSO, THIS IS TO INFORM OTHER PASSENGERS THAT , IF ANYONE FOUND SUCH FORMS KEPT INFRONT OF THE RESERVATION COUNTER CAN THROUGH IT AWAY" - . I hope the Railway management can understand the pain of standing from the early morning 3.30 AM to 8.00 AM and if some people simply kept the form previous day night and go for sleeping at home- is it acceptable?. Directly Railway Dept is not involved in this. But indirectly supporting the frauds by not taking action against them.

Indian Rail — Ticket Reservation

While booking the Train Ticket through irctc.co.in, I have noticed some issues as mentioned below

A) Site is up and working fine till 7.55 AM, as soon as the clock touches 8.00 and Tatkal reservation opens, site goes down and will not abe to book the tatkal ticket.
B) After 30 min, when all tatkal quota booked, site came up and starts working fine.

Please look into this matter, even you can test and feel it practically, the problem we are facing as a general citizen of India.
Please take necessary action ASAP.

I agree with Fani Mohanty & Ankit jain. Even brokers claims that you can't book tatkal form online service and asked for 100rs extra on booking

the reason for that there is setting at higher level in irctc with agent network
i completely agree. tatkal tickets have become a big source of malpractice and corruption in indian rail. this phenomena has increased in last two years

    Filling of TDR against untravelled ticket under PNR Number [protected] was declared by railway as false case. When I submit my clarifications that I had actually not travelled on the ticket and the discrepancy is on the part of railway itself the concerned user id i.e. "prvn1959" was also deactivated subsequently without hearing my voice in this regard. Even after making all the possible efforts I could not convince the railway authorities that no body with high reputation will opt to file false TDR just for Rs.300(+).

    I am with the same type of problem. I have filed TDR for not travelling the train PNR [protected]. The railway deactivated my user-id and called it a false TDR claim.

        Hello,

        Today (21/04/2011) I have done an online transaction to purchase a ticket on 12811 Hatia Exp from Nagpur Jn to Hatia boarding on 06/06/2011 for Sri Mangesh. Unfortunately after the payment was made through SBI payment gateway, the error, "REDIRECT=https://www.irctc.co.in/cgi-bin/bv60.dll/irctc/booking/bankrespon... came up without giving me the confirmation of the payment and neither the ticket is generated. But payment of Rs353 is to be reduce in my bank account.

        This is really embarrasing situation and IRCTC is expected to help me at the earliest with the ticket if the payment is already confirmed at their end. If not refund the same amount.

        Expecting a reply as soon as possible.

          Some measures in the budget are good. But a lot still remains to be desired. Journey times of almost all the trains needs to be reduced, as there is vast scope of improvement. The law and order in the trains, is pathetic, as unruly crowd of daily passengers, regularly disturbs the peace and comfort of sleeper class passengers, and usurps their berths forcefully, in almost all the trains. Most of the stoppages, like the one at Hapur, needs to abolished at least for some trains. For example, the halting of Delhi-Faizabad Express (train # 14206 Down), at the Hapur railway station must be ceased at once. The huge rush of daily, rouge passengers, mainly youth, and criminals, who board the train at Ghaziabad railway station, for Hapur, prevent the Sleeper class passengers, mostly with small kids, to board the train, as the stoppage at Gzb., is just 2 minutes. The Hapur bound passengers, in huge nos., fill up all the sleeper class bogies, and create a virtual hell, till Hapur arrives. They can conveniently catch the Rewadi-Hapur-Bulandshahar shuttle, which arrives, a few minutes later at Gzb., in the evening. The legitimate rights of sleeper class passengers are being blatantly violated by these daily passengers. The termination of Hapur stoppage of train is all the more necessary, as the number of people boarding the train from Hapur is negligible, and they have several other viable options.

            I would lik to complain about station master for not giving me complain book andiinstead ignororing me for the same.

            Incident happened on 18th march Monday at 8PM churchgate station when I stopped at cafe caffee day outlet for getting a water bottle for myself I asked how much is it he told me 15 rs I checked the bottle it was RS 12 ans I started arguing on the same and he was talking rudely abt it and so I paid him 12rs and I went to the sattion master told him what happened he came there and asked the coffee shop man to provide complain book and told that guy guy to tell me sorry on what happened and told us you go I will handle it ..........
            I toldhim I am not in hurry I want something done on it right away STATION MASTER LIED US ON HE NOT HAVING COMPLAIN BOOK .....I told the cops abt the incident and they told you need to talk to station master on it ....................till the time station master left from there.........
            I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO TAKE SOME ACTION AGAINST THAT STAION MASTER who was on duty at that time because he is not doing the job for which he is not paid for ........

                  Respected Mamtaji,

                  Yesterday there was a news that some robbers throwout the Indian volleyball player sonu out of the train. This is a shocking and very sorry feeling news for all o[censored]s. We are continuously hearing news about women harassment in the train. secondly, I find some eunuch asking for money if not given they use very bad words to the common man infront of his family, especially in bhopal to nagpur route u see these eunuch(Hijras) asking for money.

                  My question is, do we have suffiecient police staff for the trains ?. what if 4 or 5 guards are available in the train in every journal and reserved coach with arms. will it cost very heavy for the railway department. These two problem is faced by common man daily. I hope that you will find some way out for this problem.

                  Pls do something for this problem. I will be thankful i[censored] do something on this.

                    IRCTC is cheating during online tatkal booking. I definitely see a scam going here. As soon as it reaches 8:00AM the website immediately displays "Service Not Available" and miraculously it return after 5min with all thetickets booked, only to find I am in the waiting list already. Can some concerned person take a look into this issue? I strongly feel there is some collaboration between the booking agents and IRCTC. Booking agents always gets the ticket booked with Available seats. Please have this issue investigated.IRCTC Cheating

                    If they are not cheating why don't they prove it through some records so that the general Public accepts it that IRCTC is not cheating the public.

                    Hope already many people would have complaint about this. Any action taken? Please share so that me as a citizen get confidence on this Co nsumer Complaints Web Site.

                    Agree with the views. There is some scam running since months. This happens on all the routes where trains go full. In some cases you cant get 90 days in advance. The site shows some error and as soon as you can log in, all the tickets are already sold. However if you give the same task to agents they will get you a confirmed ticket. Further its interesting to note the timing its exactly when the ticket counter opens. Is there anyone to look into this?

                      I ( Vijay Kumar ) was travelling in 12429/ Bangalore-New Delhi Rajdhani Express, dtd 13th April 2011 from Bangalore to Jhansi along with my wife and my 7months old daughter.
                      On the very first night I approached the coach attendant as well as the TTE ( capable staff) to increase the cooling, the technician came and did some thing but there was no cooling at all. It was informed to the railway staff who were on train but on 14th after noon also the problem was not resolved, more over my daughter was sweating due to poor or no cooling. We along with few co - passenger approached to the Nagpur Station manager also to resolve the problem, what he did i don't know but the problem was unresolved. Moreover we are asked to take refund. It was said to many co passenger also,
                      Please let us know, is this a Rajdhani Express who is claimed to be the most efficient train in term of services, facility & speed. But i was shocked to know that the coach was of below standard of railways a very old and poor coach was allotted.
                      We pay a very huge amount for travelling in this train just to travel with a little comfort and time saving. as we belong to salaried person in private sector, and sorry to note the approach and facility provided by the indian railways both in terms of services and facility.
                      A positive note and justice is expected for passenger like us in this matter.

                          5. Non Veg Meal - Rs 85/ for Chicken
                          in this time i asking the original rate but pantry car manger Mr. Rohit Kumar not show me the "original rate", After that i also asking for "complain book" he told me along with his all staff "Don.t ask complain book again otherwise we trough you from the train" in hindi " JADDA UCHKO MAT NAHIN TO TRAIN SE PHAK DANGE" after this i launch a complain to attending TT the complain receipt no is 078803 near at Raurkella station

                            Dear Sir,
                            To whomever it is concerned.
                            I have travelled by the Intercity express from Laundi to Varanasi on Thursday Apr 7th 2011.
                            The train is very good in terms of maintaining the speed and the time. It reachecd Varanasi at 12:15 PM.
                            But it was made to stop near the outer signal for 1 hr 45 mins. We didnt know the reason but on reaching the Varanasi station found out that it is stopped for 1 hr 45 mins because platform No. 4 was not empty. Many trains got signal except our train.
                            This is solely station manager's fault for not making another platform ready for this intercity. It is very very sad that we were made to wait under the hot sun. Please look into this issue.

                            I am not very sure if this will work.
                            But i wish to bring to light pathtic Train service.
                            I boarded New Delhi Sup Special train 2427 supposed to be on 15th Nov from Kanpur.
                            Scheduled departure was 11.25. Train started with delay of 2.5 hrs.
                            On the way train was further delayed to the extent that the journey which should take 6 hrs took around 12 hours. I missed my office, had to take a paid leave and face brunt of clients.

                            Do someone hold responsibility of such delays..so that trains ar etaking double the time they should have been taking.
                            Its high time either government privatize railways or improve.
                            They just cant go with this act of monopoly and continue cheating passengers.

                              Hi,
                              I booked a railway online e-ticket(Pnr no. [protected]) from Gwalior to Pune for two passengers. One seat was confirmed and another wait listed at the time of booking and the status remained same even after chart preparation. I boarded the train and my co-passenger didn't travel due to her seat not being confirmed. Normally, refund for waitlisted e tickets is credited within 3 or 4 working days from the date of journey but when it didn't get transferred into my a/c, i sent an e mail to irctc asking for it. Though they filed a TDR and replied that refund would be processed after 90 days after due verification from the concerned Zonal railways.But I doubt waiting for another 90 days would be worth since I have not been given certificate for non travelling of my co-passenger. When asked by TTE about my co-passenger's travelling status, i clearly told him that she couldn't board as the ticket was not confirmed. Despite knowing my co-passenger not travelling, TTE didn't issue a 'certificate of non travel' for me to be able to claim the refund. I also not cared to obtain the same as I was not aware of the railway rules regarding the partially waitlisted tickets. I was under the impression that same process would be followed as in the case of normal wait listed online e tickets. I still can produce a proof of non traveling of my co-passenger since after a gap one day she boarded another train to reach pune. I have that original ticket in my possession. As in one day she could not have returned to gwalior and again reached pune. Pl. take it up and help me get the refund. PALLAVI

                              For your information , two sets of ticket of passengers each were booked on the same train and same date with same name of passengers on waitlist ticket with a hope that one are birth tickets in each ticket will be available on quota.

                              On the day of journey , 3 seats in AC-III was confirmed and 1 seat in AC-II .

                              I expect the refund of 4 passengers as it was in Wait list and same man can not travel in two births at a time

                              III AC ticket from Varanasi to Cuttack for four adults in Train No. 2876 for dated 07-06-09
                              PNR No. [protected] and Transaction ID : [protected] . All the above tickets were wait listed . On the day of journey i.e 07-06-09 out of 4 passenger , three passenger seat was confirmed on VIP quota on 07-06-09 and rest 1 passenger was in waiting list.



                              As per my understanding , the waitlisted passengers money is to be refunded automatically in case of e tickets.



                              When money was not received TDRs were filed on 12th and 25th June 2009.



                              On December 1, 2009 I received only Rs. 651 against the first ticket booking. in my account . I was surprised to see the return money amount which is much less than of Rs. 4900 which is actually due for return.



                              I am attaching all the correspondence for your information and appropriate action .

                              I hope I will be able to receive the due amount immediately as already 6 months have passed.

                              I had the same issue where one seat of mine is confirmed and the other 2 are in waitlist status for AC chair car. When i asked TT he didn't even said anything about the certificate and he also said that refund will be done to my account automatically. I mentioned the same while filing TDR and they regreted it. I don't know how to get the refund back. Help me in getting the refund.

                                I boarded the train "12377/PADATIK EXPRESS" with a RAC ticket "PNR No. [protected]". Another passenger boarded with a RAC ticket from Malda. We had to share our bearth the entire way to NJP. On asking the TTE if another bearth is available he simply said no. But other passengers who boarded without ticket were comfortably sleeping in their breaths. Then what is the big deal in buying a railway ticket if the benefits without ticket are more lucrative. aren't RAC tickets supposed to get first preference of empty breaths ?

                                  This is to register a complaint about the lack of cleaning service in Indian Railways. Until sometime back it was seen that cleanliness and hygiene was the norm in the railways as there was regular cleaning and a proper waste disposal system in place. However my recent trip in the Sanghamitra Express 12295 showed that the service was temporary because I was informed that the company to whom the tender was issued had expired so the service was stopped. As a result there were cockroaches and rats in our compartment and the neighbouring ones too. I urge the Railways department to kindly take notice and re introduce the cleaning service as it helped the 25 million passengers that travel in it daily.

                                    I am from vadodara gujarat.I went to pilani for 29th international annual techfest-apogee 2011 on 25th march held at bits,pilani.so,i preferred to go chirawa from jaipur and gone there by meter guage train.When the train reached the station chirawa there was one another train on platform.I was new and no one in my coach.so,i think it may not chirawa.On this station only one side board notifying about station.so,i can not locate station.Eventually both train started at same time.suddenly,i see station chirawa.so,i try to pull chain but it was not stopped and i have to jump off train.i was injured.i inform and give complaint to station master but he did not respond me.I have given him letter to chirawa station master.My mobile nokiae63 is also damaged.so,i want back my 8000 rs for mobile.otherwise i m going to case on indian railway of murder attempt in court of law....

                                    Indian Railways — no proper service

                                    sir,

                                    i travelled in Tamil Nadu Express on 13/01/10 in ac 2nd class in coach A3 I was not givenapkin after request it was only given on 14/01/10 when I repeatedly asked for it. also there were a lot of cockroaches in the compartment and apart from this the glass door was not closing to full causing cold air to come inside as that day was itself cold it created a problem and there was no liquid soap in the toilets.

                                      Excess Fare for Sr. Citizen
                                      PNR [protected] from Cuttack to Howrah on May 21, 2011 by Train No. 12840.

                                      As per recent Railway Budget, Sr. Citizen shall be entitled to 40% discount on fares effective April 01,2011.

                                      The usual fare for the above ticket is Rs 709.00 and with 40% discount the fare charged should have been Rs 425.00. However, fare charged is Rs 545.00.

                                      Are we to understand that the budget proposals have not been implemented ?

                                      Indian Railways — Concessions to Sr.Citizens

                                      Senior Citizens were given some relief in the budget of 2011-12,but the Railways are still to implement them.Also the age for women passengers to be eligible as sr.citizens had been slated to be 58 years ,but the fate here also.Are the Railway implementing authorities are superior to Indian Parliament who have passed the budget? I pray them to honour the decision of Parliament.Dr.Jamanlal.(Age 66years)
                                      Excess fare has been charged towards booking of tickets from Bangalore-Chennai for the dates 01/7/2011 to 02/7/2011 vide PNR NO[protected]and[protected] of the train no: 12291 and 12292. Instead of offerring 40% concession to Sr.Citizens only 30% has been extended. The commercial circular No:18/2011 dt:13/05/2011 clearly indicates that the tickets booked on or after 01.6.2011 has been given 40% concession to Sr.citizens, whereas the railways not implemented the same and not issuing concession to the Sr.citizens as declared by the HMR during budget.Please anylse the lapse and do the needful to refund the excess fare collected.Early action is highly solicited.

                                      The Honourable Minister for Railways has announced during the Railway Budget for the year 2011-12 that Sr.Citizens will be given 40% concession in basic fare. This has also been confirmed by the Railway Authorities vide commercial circular No TC II/2161/2011/SRC/Policy dt:13.5.2011. The above concession will be effective from 01.6.2011.. I have made reservation from Bangalore-Chennai for the dates 01.7.2011 and return on 02.7.2011 vide PNR NO[protected] and[protected] for the trains no;12291 and 12292 of Yeswantpur-Chennai Express. The Railway Authority has not extended the 40% concession and considered only for 30% concession to the Sr.Citizen. They pleaded their ignorance to extend the 40% concession evenafter the said circular has been published in many news papers for the interest of travelling public. Thus the Railway Authorities have excess collected from the Sr.Citizen without adhering rules and regulations from time to time. The Sr.Citizens were kept in the dark and the announcement made by the Hon Minister for Railways is nothing but travesty of facts.The gulliable Sr.Citizens are being cheated by the Railways as seen from the above.

                                        DEAR SIR/MADAM I SALMAN BASHIR had booked a ticket of train Jhelum Express on 05/01/2011 from new delhi to jammu and departure date oftrain was 07/01/2011.pnr no. was [protected] and transaction id. was [protected].I booked ticket on www.irctc.co.in by jammu and kashmir bank credit card.The train was late more than 10 hours and the passengers not travelled.so, it is the fault of railway management and they have not refund my amount into the same account and j k bank has charged me interest,late fees as well from booked date to till today.,that is totally injustice with me .the total ticket amount was deducted Rs 1205.312. in my credit card at the time of booking.the details are as :
                                        Basic fare Rs 1174
                                        irctc chages Rs 10
                                        1.8 % gateway charges =Rs 21.312
                                        total amount =Rs 1205.312.
                                        After that bank has charged interest,late fees on amount Rs 1205.312 from booked date to till today (nearly 70 days more) and this amount becomes Rs 1850 .the due date of amount is 30/03/2011 if i cannot deposit amount in the bank till due date ,the bank will charges INTEREST again. so, i request kindly refund for Rs 1750 into the same account as soon as possible because it is railways` fault and is totally injustice with me.please assist better.I hope u will solve my issue
