I inquired in Indore ,they informed me that my parcel had moved from Indore on 2nd May 2011 by Train No-16325-Ahilyanagri...

hi,

I bought Indian Railway Smart card to buy local train tickets through AVTM in St.Thomas Mount Station. After few months the AVTM machine is not working in all the stations.

Later when the AVTM resume working i tried to took ticket from the AVTM machine it shows a message that "Your card in Invalid". I have sufficient amount in that card and the validity period expires due to not using the card in the past 6 months that is also due to the AVTM machine not working.

When i ask the officer, he told me that your card is invalid not able to recharge. so you need to buy a new card and also not able to surrend the old card.

He itself don't know what to do if the card validity expries. Please help me how to recharge my card .

Also advise railways department to educate the officer about the smart card process.

    no trains stopping at boisar
    people are facing problems of travelling to northern cities/their hometowns like jaipur/new delhi and many more.
    daily public travelling for jobs even don,t get suitable trains .
    public is demanding more trains to stop on boisar with the stoppage of almost all trains stopping on palghar and dahanu road.
    no action taken till now.
    everyone is annoyed with it.
    please take action.

      my self amit tiwari resident of palghar(thane)i have checked tickets availibility in avadh express from boisar to lacknow(train no 9037)of 26/05/2011 tickets r showing available but when i moved to the ticket counter in palghar station in a minutes tickets were not available,they said me its waiting 17 no. again i checked after he said me but still there was an availibility,wat is going on just let me know,is it the another way of selling tickets to agents who keeps commission 300 on each tickets plz look to the matter ...yours sincere amit

        My parents (Age 58 / 52) have booked two berths in AC 2 tier on[protected] with journey date of
        [protected] from Chennai Central to Kazipet Jn.Train number 12759 ,Train name CHARMINAR EXPRESS
        At the time of booking, ticket status was PQWL 1/2 with still a month for journey date.

        They berth was not confirmed till the date of the journery (08.05.2011) while they had status of PQWL 1/2.
        for a month.

        TO THE SUPRISE IN THE CHARTING LIST WE SAW ---> WL 23/24 TICKETS, WERE MOVED FORWARD AND GIVEN SEAT IN AC 2 TIER. WE WENT AND ASKED THE TT INCHARGE ON THE DAY, HE HAS NO ANSWER AT FIRST, THEN LATER HE TOLD THOSE PERSONS MAY BE RAILWAYS OFFICERS.

        This is notorious, disappointing stuff from railways. Irregards of who the persons are what sought of influence they have inside railways or anywhere they need to allocate berths in sequencial order.
        Pushing from nowhere (WL 23/24) and confirming them berths has angered even the persons WL persons.

        I expect railways to change their bloody damn system, make their system reliable enough so that it takes WL numbers in serial order, without any manual interference of allocation.

          This is a case of how indian railway has cheated money by giving false/manupulated reference of document.
          I've filed a TDR on 14th of january 2011 for a ticket of pnr no. [protected](journey date[protected] from Gaya to Howrah) against the claim that the train was late for more than three hours and passenger not travelled.On 3rd May i received an email(attached below) from TDR team of railway stating that my TDR is stating that my claim has been repudiated because as per there record (ref. no.3351-ER/7) passenger has travelled on said ticket.
          I've not traveled on above mentioned ticket(i.e pnr [protected]).As i had to attend a very urgent appointment in Kolkata on[protected] morning.Because of heavy fog trains were running late so, i tracked my train status and found that train delayed for 9 hours from its originating station.So,i rescheduled my travel and booked a ticket with another train(no.12308) pnr no. [protected](journey date[protected] from Gaya to Howrah,around 12 hrs before from the previous booked ticket train) and i traveled on this train to Howrah.I reached howrah on[protected] morning and stayed in a guest house(if required proof can be given).
          Please note that i've sent a mail stating my point and details of my travel but till now no reply has come from concerned authority.I tried to contact them on phone no. provided but nobody is picking up the phone.
          Please look into matter and do the needful.
          Incase any document required from my end.I would be happy to provide the same.

          Below is the Email Received from TDR Team:-

          REGRET Dear Customer,
          With Reference to your PNR No:[protected], we regret to inform you that
          refund is not admissible as informed by Railways through their letter no : F/IRCTC/ETKT/10/2/25.04.11/ER and the reason being : 3351-ER/7 As per records Passenger(s) travelled on the ticket. The case is repudiated. In case you require any further assistance, please mail us at [protected]@irctc.co.in or call us on[protected]

                Two e-tickets bearing PNR no.[protected](for 4 adults) and [protected](for 6 adults) were booked for journey on 24/02/11 (Dep. Time 12 noon) by 13287 South Bihar Exp from Raigarh (RIG) to Asansol (ASN). Most unexpectedly, an accident took place few minutes before arrival of the train and uncertainly prevailed at the station for hours together. Hence passengers (of both tickets) were forced to cancel journey by train and they had to make extra expenditure for completing the journey by road.TDR for these e-tickets were filed in two steps
                1) One person from each ticket had changed his program on 24/2/11 morning before arrival of the train. Hence a TDR stating “Passenger not travelled” for them only (one person each ticket)was filed before arrival of the train on 24/02/11. As per railway rules 50% full fair (In this case 50% of Rs. 601.00 for IIIAC) for one passenger/Ticket was to be refunded, but they promptly refunded 50% fair for all passengers on 02/03/11 (Rs. 1200+Rs.1800) without filing TDR for other passengers. (for both tickets)
                2) 02 TDRs (01 for each ticket) for remaining 08 passengers were filed on 06.03.11 by e-mail to [protected]@irctc.co.in stating “passenger not travelled due to train more than 03 hrs. late” and requesting for full refund of 50%balance amount for remaining 10 passengers (Rs. 3010/-). Now railways is refusing to refund the balance 50% amount of Rs. 3010/-against these TDRs stating that “Kindly note that according to Railways Rules if party not travels on a confirmed ticket only 50% refund is applicable and you have yourself given the reason "Passenger not travelled" for filing the TDR” whereas the reason given by me states “Passenger not travelleddue to train more than 03 hrs. late” Railway authorities have IGNORED the fact that the passengers could not travel due to train being late for moe than three hrs.
                3) Again two e-mails (separately for each e-ticket)were sent to [protected]@irctc.co.in on 22/03/11 requesting to refund the amount stated above but same reply has been repeated by railway authorities.
                You are requested to look into the matter for getting justice for me in this matter.

                  Hello Sir,
                  I am a software engineer working in pune MNC.I booked a bajaj discover bike as luggage on journey ticket
                  from pune to allahabad.
                  Bike was loaded at pune station in the train (Gyan ganga Express) in front of me.
                  But when at allahabad station I enquired they said the bike is not here and might be it has gone ahead.
                  I waited for 24 hrs for bike to come but it has not yet come to station.

                  Dear Sir,
                  I have booked my motorcycle (GA06B5452) in luggage from Visakahapatnam to Arakkonam vide RR No.[protected] and PW bill no. A-0253286 on 31.03.11, along with my ticket PNR No.[protected] and it was lifted by train no. 13351on 01.04.2011 vide SLR No.SE 888726 from visakhapatnam and it is supposed to be unloaded at Arakkonam on 02.04.11, but it has not been unloaded, it is over carried to Alleppy .Since I am working in deffence it is difficult for me to went out every time to confirm whether it has reached Arrakkonam or not but till today(06.04.11) I went to arakkonam station 9 times but my vehicle has not arrived from Allrppy.I am incurring heavy problems and losses lack of transport. I tried to give complaint to nr cell regarding this matter but the number not responding . So kindly take necessary action against this matter and do the needful.

                    I am very sorry to point out that the Online Reservation System of the Indian Railways, is totally a failure, since most of the occasions, after making the payment, tickets are never booked of our choice. The Railways simply say that the amount is being credited to our account. We have to keep vigil whether the payment is refunded or not. This is totally unwarranted effort caused due to the negligence of the Indian Railways.

                    Secondly, whenever I try lower berth in the Online booking, for my 80 years old mother I always get either middle or upper berth. Even after giving option of Lower Berth, I am shocked to note that so many times the Upper berth is allotted. One can imagine, how it is possible for a 80 years old lady to climb to an Upper Berth. Many passengers do not cooperate to adjust in the train. I therefore request the Railway authorities, to do the needful, that the software should identify the senior citizens and allocate them the Lower berths. Otherwise, the system should ask the option of the passengers. I strongly believe that if the above suggestion is implemented, most of the senior citizens will be benefited.

                      sirs,my name is s.r.laddha,ve a punjab national bank debit card no.[protected].yesterday on april 26,2011 i tried to book a ticket from bandra {bdts} to jodhpur train no.12480 date of travel[protected],after entering all details sustem demanded security code which i did not knew and i failed to book this ticket.i repeated this exercise 2-3 times.but i could not got it done.
                      then today i got a message from mobile that Rs.279 deducted from the my bank although i could not book the ticket.please,help me&refund me back this amount in my bank account.

                        I am a NRI and finally return back to India on 27th April 2011 after 2 years duo to a car accident. I had to reach International tourist reservation counter at New Delhi Railway Station on 28th April 2011 for booking of my ticket from New Delhi to Basti in AC 2tier. Mr. Dilbagh Sharma, Enquiry & Reservation Supervisor was on the counter No. 3. he refused to give me reservation and told me that your passport contains exit visa. I told him that i am finally coming back to India after 2 years and you have to give me the reservation last time to reach my home. but he again refused and misbehave and shouting on me. After this i going to Ms. Neeta Dara, Cheif Reservation Supervisor, she listlen my problem and write a note on the reservation form and told me to go to Mr. Dilbagh and he will give you the reservation. After seeing the reservation form Mr. Dilbagh again shouted at me and he also shout on the lady supervisor. Then Lady told us to go to other counter where i got the confirmed ticket for 1st May 2011
                        I want to request railway minister that please take proper action against Mr. Dilbagh Sharma that again he may not misbehave with other tourists and travellers.

                          COMPLAINT REGARDING NON-CO-OPERATION AND THREATENING

                          Dear Sir,
                          1/ That I would like to bring to your kind notice that at the ticket reservation counter situated at Punjabi Line, Near Kadbi Chowk, the Staff at the reservation counter are not co-operating and threatening to call RPF Police on being asked for reservation forms.
                          2/ That I had been to the said counter today i.e on 30/04/2011 at around 10.30 am and had asked for 10 reservation forms at the First counter and the Male Staff after inquiring about the number of passengers and provided me with 5 forms and asked me to get other 5 forms from the 2nd counter.
                          3) That as directed I asked for 5 forms on the 2nd counter where a Female Staff was on duty who also inquired about the number of passengers, however though informed she refused to provide me with the forms and rudely told me to get the tickets booked from the Railway Station and she will not do the booking.
                          4/ That the Staff instead of providing with the forms asked silly and irrelevant question such as ‘Why do you require the forms’, ‘Have you done the group booking’ etc etc. That as I was insisting to provide me with forms, the Female Staff on duty threatened me and said “ Where is the RPF, Call the RPF Police , On hearing these words from the Staff, I had no other option but to raise my voice and it was only then 5 forms were provided to me.
                          6/ That it has been noticed that agents are accommodated and are provided with all information asked by them. It is only because of the rude behavior of the Staff on duty public are victim and the fear of the RPF Police force many to keep quiet and not complaint about such irregularities. I therefore request your good self to kindly look into the matter.

                            This is to complaint against the Parcel luggage staff stands near the Ticket booking counter at CST station (Metro) - Mumbai of indian railways.

                            The details of the complaint are:
                            1. No proper response if we approach the parcel luggage counter for booking to parcel the luggage to destination.
                            2. Tell the passengers to approach the staff those stands near the luggage weighing machine for any such luggage parcel booking.
                            3. The staff demands a lumpsum for any such booking and make a bill on actual weight of the luggage.
                            4. Recently, I had seen a passenger wanted to send household instruments to the destination, the staff demanded a lumpsum of Rs. 1200/- and made a bill of Rs. 550/-. Since the passenger had no alternative but to sent to it on urgent basis. So, he agreed to the lumpsum amount.

                            This kind of situation not only faced by me but other passengers are still facing.

                            Request your intervention on this and get this sort of corruption vanished at the earliest.

                            Agreed, that wealthy people never mind paying the excess amount but a common man never wants to do.

                            Please do revert me at the earliest.

                              I booked online railway I Ticket from IRTC website 5 days back , I did not receive ticket yet.
                              I checked with irtc customer care, and got Overnight express courier consignment number.
                              I checked online tracking it was showing courier reached at Lucknow 4 days back but still not delivered.

                              I called Overnight express courier customer care no one attended phone, after trying 1 hr, call has been attended they gave some different contact number to enquire about status, the number which has been given no one attended. Train ticket courier should be very fast it should not take 5 days to deliver ticket.

                                I had booked 4 tickets from Vishakhapatnam to Secunderabad in VSKP-SC GARIB RAHT Train dated on 02.02.2011.But some unavoidable reason i had cancelled 2 tickets out of 4 tickets on dated 11.02.2011.But there are two and more months from cancellation of my ticket i have not yet received my cancellation amount till now. So kindly uggest me that how could i get my refunded amount towards my cancelled tickets amount and make necessary action to my complain. Details are given below

                                    Dear Sir/Madam,
                                    This is to inform you that Train No.941 is churchgate to borivali, then it’s goes empty from borivali to bhayander yard.

                                    Now the problem are

                                    1) bhayander people board the train from churchgate to borivali and make train fully crowded as they found it is easy to travel up to bhayander,

                                    2) This is highly illegal and they harass the people who travel up to borivali.

                                    3) now a days train gets more crowded in goregaon, malad, kandivali station who are all stay in empty train that goes to bhayander yard.

                                    Hence you are requested to look into the matter by deputing enough numbers of RPF & GRP at malad , Kandivali & borivali station.

                                    Please find concrete solution on this.

                                      Dear Sir,
                                      There is a difference kind of Procedure is followed by the people who are reserving their tickets in Tatkal Quota in Tiruvarur Railway station. As a procedure, people should be there in on a queue in FIFA basis i.e whoever comes first in early morning they will be form a queue. But in the above said station people are keeping the duly filled reservation forms previous day night itself and putting a sl. no. on the form like 1,2,3.... and after keeping those forms they go to home, sleep and will come back on next day morning after 7.30 and will stand as per the sl. no writtened down on the forms. The problem is, even people like me , who reached the station early morning 3.30 AM, forced to put the sl. no and keeping it at the bottom of the forms [nobody will be there]. I asked the passengers who did so, not to do that . But they are fighting with me and told me that this is the procedure is following up in this station. This procedure indirectly accepted by the Tiruvarur Railway reservation counter staffs also. My sincere request is to "put a board infront of the Reservation Counter says that "NO ONE SHOULD KEEP THE FILLED FORMS WITH NUMBERING IN FRONT OF THE COUNTER AND ALL ARE REQUESTED TO KEEP THE FORM WITH YOU ITSELF AND FORM THE QUEUE. ALSO, THIS IS TO INFORM OTHER PASSENGERS THAT , IF ANYONE FOUND SUCH FORMS KEPT INFRONT OF THE RESERVATION COUNTER CAN THROUGH IT AWAY" - . I hope the Railway management can understand the pain of standing from the early morning 3.30 AM to 8.00 AM and if some people simply kept the form previous day night and go for sleeping at home- is it acceptable?. Directly Railway Dept is not involved in this. But indirectly supporting the frauds by not taking action against them.

                                      Indian Rail — Ticket Reservation

                                      While booking the Train Ticket through irctc.co.in, I have noticed some issues as mentioned below

                                      A) Site is up and working fine till 7.55 AM, as soon as the clock touches 8.00 and Tatkal reservation opens, site goes down and will not abe to book the tatkal ticket.
                                      B) After 30 min, when all tatkal quota booked, site came up and starts working fine.

                                      Please look into this matter, even you can test and feel it practically, the problem we are facing as a general citizen of India.
                                      Please take necessary action ASAP.

                                      I agree with Fani Mohanty & Ankit jain. Even brokers claims that you can't book tatkal form online service and asked for 100rs extra on booking

                                      the reason for that there is setting at higher level in irctc with agent network
                                      i completely agree. tatkal tickets have become a big source of malpractice and corruption in indian rail. this phenomena has increased in last two years
