Motorola rokr z-6 — Mobile has been stolen

My Motorola rokr z-6 sliding black color mobile along with 16000 Rs has been stolen on June 23, 09 at Jamshedpur in Jharkhand. At the time of stolen it was engaged with an idea Jharkhand sim if no. [protected]
Thief is a professional criminal i heard that it si poossible to track it with its IMEI no.
So plz if any one can help me.

I am purchased Motorola Z6 Black From M/s Hotspot Retail Pvt.ltd, Shop No G-1, Gopinath Marg, G.G.Tow, New Colony, Jaipur - 302001 and Cash Invoice no.[protected] dated 20/01/2008. This IMEI Number of the set is 355556/01/021746/3.

Now the service provider Airtel says:That the above IMEI Number is not valid.No service provider will give service to your mobile phone set after 29/11/2009 as per directive from government. Please look into the complaint and register the IMEI Number of this set.
