[Resolved]  Philips / MCD109 — Faulty Remote control

Hi,

On 15th of April '08 I've lodged my complaint regarding my mini home theator MCD109 DVD Player. But till now I am getting only daily assurance from Philips Customer Care and Philips Service Centre. Unfortunately, I have been a regular Philips customer, even when I was in USA.

I am calling them and service center too and the common reply is they will reach me in 48 hours. Pathetic customer care I've experienced with Philips, India.

Philips micro dvd theatre — Not working properly

We purchased a Philips micro dvd theatre through ICICI bank. Its been a year since we purchased. It aint working properly since the time we bought. We sent it to Di G waves solutions pvt lmd, authorised philips service center, Marredpally secbad 26. Phone no: 6633588. They said that liners werent proper and they charged us 1600/- on 13th december 2008. It worked for a day after we got it back. From the next day it stopped working so again we sent that back to the same service center. Now they say that CD ROM isnt working properly. The DVD player isnt proper. I think we received an outdated one. We kindly need a proper reply for this mail as soon as possible.
Dear Sir,

On 17th November, 2008 I purchased a PHILIPS brand HOME THEATER from Great Eastern Trading Company located at 20, Old Court House Street, Kolkata -700 001. The DVD Player that formed part of the set (Model No.3011 and Sl. No.68701) was delivered at my home the next day, but when I tried to use the DVD player for the first time to play a CD, I found to my consternation after about 10 minutes that the player was not working any more. When I restarted, the drive programme displayed a “No disc” message, but I also found that the CD was getting visibly affected with flimsy scratch marks on it. When I personally contacted the selling outlet, a responsible employee manning the service counter there advised me to get in touch with the service center of the manufacturing firm. A mechanic from the Service Center paid a visit at my home after a couple of days and asked me to deposit the DVD Player at the Service Center. The mechanic there saw to the defect and told me that he had repaired the glitch and I took the DVD Player back home. The mechanic advised me not to try playing cheap CDs. After a lapse of a few days the same problem recurred and I again had to take the DVD player to the Service Center for a re-look. As I took the set back again the mechanic at the Service Center admitted that there was a defect in the setup which he said he had set right. The problem however continued to persist and I had to contact the Service Center once more but they did not send any mechanic. On 29th January I was forced to request the selling outlet viz. Great Eastern Trading Company to replace the defective set but they pleaded their helplessness stating that they could not do so after a lapse of a week from the date of purchase. When I pointed out that I had come to the outlet on the fourth day after purchasing the set they refused to accept my contention and iterated that anything regarding any electronic gadget once purchased should be taken up with the Service Center of the manufacturer concerned and that the selling outlet could not have anything to do with it. Utterly exasperated and exhausted I left the DVD Player at the counter of the Great Eastern Trading Company and even after my repeatedly requesting for a receipt, they not only refused to give me one but showed me the door in a very uncivil and unacceptable manner.
As an aggrieved customer I do not know what to do and whom to look to for the redressal of my grievance. Should I not be taking the matter before the District Forum constituted under the provisions of the Consumer Protection Act, 1986?

not getting on. This product is in warranty period. I am staying in Thane, Godbundar road,

We had a problem in our 29"colour TV, Make;Philips.Subsequently we contacted Philips web site and authorised service centre from Cuttack contacted us after which Mr.Mohapatra, the visiting technician of M/s.Sainath Electrocare, Bajrakabati Raod, Cuttack came to Dhenkanal for inspection.As per his version, the micro-processor was to be replaced for which our set was delivered at the concerned service centre at Cuttack on 30.12.2008.But till date, we have enquired 100 times over phone and persons receiving phone there, alleage that the micro-processor has not reached them from Pune and as a result the repairing work has not been completed yet.This being an office material, I request you to take special initiation from your end and look into the matter and take appropriate action at the right time.

I feel that philips is hope less company because I bought a DVD player DVP3266 in the month of December and It worked only for one week and I gave for serviceing center they have taken one month and they did not repair (philips service center East marredpally Hydrabad. I feel that this company shuld be basnned because they not manufacturing the product properly and service center is also a hopeless one

I have purchased Philips DVP3266 DVD in month of junaury and it worked for only one week and I sent it to the srvice center at Secundrabad one months ago, still they haven't done anything. Philips is having very worst service network.and company it self is hopeless

I gave in my Philips 8-in -1 player to Philips Service Centre East Marredpally, Secunderabad on 3-3-2009. Three days later I collected it paying Rs.1200. But it didn't work when I reached home. I returned it again.
My set has still not been set right. It is more than 40 days.
Can you help me?
The service centre people keep giving false promises day in and day out.

Sir, I was one among the cheated by your sales man sakthivel, Madurai, 162, south masi street. Please help me. I bought a Voltas AC. I was about to order 3, when we got the 1st one. The gas leakage problem was not fixed in time and I worried about the service quality so I switched to Carrier 1.5ton Split AC. I went to shop to pay the remaining amount and get the bill. But the sales man replied that stock was not available and asked me to come by monday. when I went on monday(04/may/2009) he said free installation offer is not available after 30th april and asked me to pay extra 1400Rs which I rejected and asked him to cancel the bill or provide the installation free as he committed. Now I request you to help me to resolve this.

Philips goods were said to be one of the stable and high quality performer but today it has lost people's trust and faith. The reason which strikes on my mind is the services are not prompt, quality has compromised and complaints of the goods under warranty are not being attended promptly which has made philips to loose trust on company. I bought 5.1 music system which developed fault with in a week of purchase when customer service centre was approached the approach was negative hence the matter will be taken to grievience redressal cell n consumer forum.

Philips / Cassette+CD+DVD player — Given for repair, past 3 months same reply

Hi,

I have given my dvd player for repair in JP Nagar, Bengaluru in the month of March 2008.

Till now I have not received it back. When ever I call them, they say it will be ready by coming Mon, Wed, Sat and so on. Till now they are telling the same story "Spare part has to come from Chennai, it will be ready in next 2-3 days"

At the time of giving it for repair, only dvd was not working. When I went to take back, CD also is not working. They are not even in a position to give back my dvd player as it was...pathetic people.

I'm fed up of following with them. They (Philips customer care) are shameless to say the same story again and again. I never seen such a customer care center...they are customer-DONT care center.

PHILIPS DVD WITH WOOFER — NO RECEIVED THIS PRODUCT

I have no receive the product for last 1.5 months. i m already paid the amount of Rs 7598 on date 01/07/09. i have receive the msg for TM Bookclub, The oorder no. is OGA[protected]. i m countinous the complain the customer care but the customer care is commited with in a one week receive the product for u . the India TodayBook Club customer care deeply wrongly commited with me. Otherwise no receive the product in this week, i m complain in Consumer Court.
Sir, I bought a philips i pod before 10 days from Thane. But sorry to say that the charging function is not working clearly. As and when I have charged in full, within 2 hours the charge shows as empty i.e., charge can't save in i pod.

Please suggest and give us your valued openiion in this regard. When I approach the shop where I have purchased the said i pod, they told me to contacat philips service center, and they will check up the same and can solve the problem. But I don't know where is the philips service centre in Thane.

to do so. Since then Two month has been past no executive from the company

My husband bought PHILIPS DVD 3 years ago. From day one we are unable to play DVD. We have asked the mechanic about the problem. He told us that fault is in your DVD only ask them to change that part. We don't know to whom shall we contact for the complaint?

Philips 5.1 music system — Regarding no response for service of product which is still under warranty

I have registered a service complaint ( compliant no 148595 ) in Alap service centre in November'2009 which is an authorised serivce centre of Philips India in Ahmedabad. At that time they told me that they are not having the accessory to replace it and they have to order in philips for that which will come within 7 working days, after two weeks when i didn't get their call i approach their service centre and i was shocked to hear that the accessory was still not available with them they assure me that within 3-4 days my problem will be resolved and since from there they were just keep me assuring but till now my problem is still unsolved .

If this forum really works for suffering customers than pls help me, as this is totally a case of cheating from such a reputed brand.
Buying from vijay sales seems that they are procuring defective electronics items from Philips and selling at very low prices. The items get faulty and then the customer harassment starts . I bought a Philips dvd player in some scheme displayed prominently in the showroom and till now i am repenting . My advice to all that do not buy DVD Players or anything which is displayed as these may not be the items which are to be disposed off at low prices as either they are defective or not getting sold for some reason. Also post sales service at vijay sales??? ---do not even dream of a service at all...thier job is to chipkao the items at low prices to customers and then let the customer suffer.
