RECENTLY I WANTED TO BUY A SONY HANDYCAM AFTER READING AN AD FROM SONY WHICH APPEARED IN ALMOST ENTIRE PRINT MEDIA WHICH SAYS THE PAYMENT CAN BE MADE IN 12 INSTALMENTS WITH ONE INSTALMENT AS DOWNPAYMENT. BUT WHEN I VISITED /CONTACTED VARIOUS SHOPS INCLUDING SONY WORLD SHOW ROOMS , I FOUND TO MY DISMAY THAT THIS SCHEME DOES NOT EXIST . I CALLED DELHI HEAD OFFICE AND THEY SAID THEY HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH FINANCING SONY PRODUCT AND IT IS BETWEEN CONSUMER AND FINANCIER. ALL SHOWROOMS INCLUDING SONY WORLD WERE ACTUALLY ASKING FOR MINIMUM FOUR/SIX INSTALMENTS AS DOWNPAYMENT PLUS A PROCESSING FEE.ALL SONY SHOWROOMS HAD CATALOGUES WITH THE MISLEADING OFFER AND STUFFS WERE FRANK ENOUGH TO SAY THAT IT WAS ONLY A MARKETING STRATEGY AND HAD NO GROUND REALITY.COULD SOMEBODY TELL ME WHY THEN SONY IS MISLEADING ITS CONSUMERS BY PUBLISHING ADDS WITH NONEXISTING OFFERS?.
ULTIMATELY I BOUGHT A HANDYCAM WITH 100 %CASH PAYMENT.

    I had got the Joy stick of my Sony-Ericsson K750i repaired from a Sony-Ericsson service center in Gurgaon, but after 2 days of that the phone display went white, and when I took the phone back to the service center the manager refused to handle the phone he said that the phone may have got damaged due to the software getting corrupted or some problem in the main board of the phone, how ever he confirmed that the Cap of the Joystick was not fixed properly. The cold response from the the Store manager made me write to the Sony-Ericsson customer service mail id, how ever I did not get any response from them.

    Sonyrv55 — lens problem

    dear sir
    i am customer leaving in INDORE (M.P) i have purchased sony rv 55 from lotus showroom INDORE,on date 02/02/2006 . but the system started giving problem in january 2007 so0 ihave given it to repair at the sony service center at kanchansagar building in INDORE. the service manager suggested me that the problem is in the lens of the system. so he changed the lens of the system.,and the problem solved for some time but now it is giving the same problem and the service manager again wants to change the lens. as my system is giving the same problem again &again i request you to solve my problem as it is a manufacturing defect.please try to accept my complain and solve as soon as posible.

    Sony Ericson W610i — Going to lounge legal complaint in consumer court

    Sir/Madam,

    This is for your information that i Mr.Dhiraj Bagul from Thane have Sony Ericson W610I which is purchased from Thane itself last 6 months back there is problem in its camera so i have given it for repair to your Sony Ericson Gallery in 12, Navrang Shopping Arcade, near Alok Hotel, opp Pantaloons Gokhale Road Naupada, Thane (W) on 24/9/2007, till date i am not getting any proper answer from the Executives from your gallery. In a day i have to call them 3 to 4 times then also they are not answering whether my cell is repaired or not every time they tell to call after wards we will check and tell you, same practice is going on from last 15 days.

    Today i had given 9 calls then also they are not telling me any status about my cell. finally i called their boss Mr. Nagesh on [protected] but he is also not answerable

    Please sir its my humbly request to look into the matter and please revert me as soon as possible or else unnecessarily i have to lounge a legal complaint in consumer court

    It would be very fine for customer to terminate such people who cannot provide service & also not attending their calls

    Sony Digital Camera - Cybershot DSC W35 — Not able to contact Indiaplaza.in over phone

    I booked for "Sony Digital Camera - Cybershot DSC W35" through http://emart.manoramaonline.com/. It is already 1 week over and they are not delivering the product. I used my credit card to book the product. Now, I am afraid and tried to reach them at the numbers[protected],[protected] given in their website. But, no such number.

    What to do now? How to get back my money?

    Sony Ericsson P990 — Product not delivered

    Hi all,
    I have ordered for a sony erricson p990 mobile through rediff shopping. Order number: 4186061.
    I ordered it on Nov5-07. Till now i haven't received the product. I don't know what to do.
    This is my last communication with sony service center. I sincerely recommend public not to buy any sony ericsson product as the company is dumping defective models in INDIA and the dealers hide warranty terms. there is no quality in the product. Its quality can be compared inferior to toy phones.

    this is a grievance email. Im a dissatisfied customer of sony ericsson from INDIA.

    I think SONY is a product known for its quality & innovation. but the recent experience makes me to rethink about my stand. I bought a SONY Ericsson j230i handset in chennai, INDIA. less than a week, the handsfree developed a fault and i take to the store where i purchased t. they direct me to a service center. there they have taken some documents (proof of purchase) and told that the handsfree will be replaced in a week or not more than 10days. but i received no communication. when i contacted them they said there is no response from the company. (ACCEL, chennai, ph no: 66213080, my job sheet no: 1465. after that i contacted the corporate office in the above ph no. the line is busy for more than 30mins. after that one lady picked up the call and asked for additional details like phone id, which i don't know what it is. she again directed me to the service center. already i spoke to the service center 4times on that day. now my handset is also giving trouble, the display is blinking at times. it appears like the phone is switched off. it gives lot of sound when i tune between radio station. the volume level is too low. this is really a surprise to me. the handset i believe is a inferior model even to the toy phone. i think SONY after realizing that J230i is failure model decided to dump it to INDIA. in the service center i have found numerous people complaining about that model. but most of the sets are less than a month old. but for me its less than a week. how bad it is. SONY ERICsson products are scrap & lemon. even a child doesn't like to play with that phone. the customer service is really poor. what for the company is, if its not caring its customers.

    Now i would like to know what is the procedure to return this set. the quality and service provider both are very poor. call me back anytime in the evening after 3:00pm (IST) to my cell.

    Sony Cybershot P200 Digital Camera — worst serveice centres

    I was a SONY lover, and have spent more than INR.[protected] USD nearly) on Sony products, and more than it i have made many of my friends and relatives to go for SONY products as i personally used to love them...

    Recently my 2 year old Sony Cybershot P-200 Camera got damaged, to which i paid 19000INR ( 525 USD nearly) 2-years bak, when i was taking snaps the lens was out and it just touched the wall hangging in my hands, Thats all the lense movements got stuck, i took it to bangalore/india local Sony Autorised service centres and they said lense got damaged and it costs INR 9000(300 USD nearly), For this price i get new Digi cam with double the functions , ZOOM and mega pix ones...
    What i feel is for the small shock to lense there might be misalignment and may be some gears which are used for focussing might have got damaged, And it requires some patience and may be 2-3 hours to get it repaired with max replacements of tiny objects inside it , and should cost max 1000INRs(25 USD nearly),But these service centre people are not interested in servicing it and telling me to replace the whole block which has focusing lense part and the lenses inside it which wud cost me 300USD's, So i started hating SONY Products now....and will never go for its products in future.

    BAD EXPERIENCE WITH SONI ERICSSON

    I have purchase problem from Soni Ericsson name W300i Mobile in Nov-2007. It has occurred a minor complaint of connectivity with computer. That’s ok it will be cleared by the Solara International Limited , SCO-206,207, Sec-34-A, Chandigarh. 2nd time after 10 days from the rectification of first complaint the display system is totally off of the set. On 29.12.2007 I submit the set in Solara International Limited , SCO-206,207, Sec-34-A, Chandigarh.under complaint ID (SES07CHD33233) in the name of Mr. Deepak Rana.In the complaint sheet under the head Problem Description the engineer has remarked DEAD SET. From 29th dec.07 to 14th jan.08, there is no progress in this complaint. Several time I contact to Customer Care Chandigarh[protected]www.salora.com) and also in Delhi no.[protected] but there is no positive response I have get till now from Soni Ericsson. From 29th Dec. 2007 to 15th Jan. 2008, my communication is totally disturbed due to soni ericsson. I have face problem in the set more than two time from the date of purchase of the set . If the set is declared DED SET (More than 80% cost occurred to repair the set) by the engineer than what is the problem with Soni Ericsson to change the set and give the new set to customer. Now I just want to know from Soni Ericsson that what I will do.

    Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) 60gb (Pal) — Faulty Product/Horrible Customer Care

    i have been a playstain gamer since the playstation first came out over ten years ago.. i dred to think how much money i have spent on games but it has given me hours of enjoyment..until now THE PLAYSTATION3...just because you have a new system out i think its disgusting that only some new games are comming out on the playstation 2..the best new games only comming out on playstation 3..well i think that is wrong..i will not be forced to buy the new console so i think i will be getting the xbox 360 out of princable...as with most complaints i dont expect anyone to reply as the big company's dont really care about the little people..what you dont understand is without the little people you would be NOWHERE!!!!!!!

    Smarrtcare Services, Sony Erricson — unsatisfactory response

    I,
    Rahul Sharma, along with my sister purchased sony erricson w700i phone on the 8th of november 2007 from Sangeetha(Jayanagar).
    The phone started giving problems(audio and display) within one week, after which it was given for service to "Smarrtcare Services".On the guidence of Sangeetha as it came under warranty period.
    The phone was told to have a defective motherboard.
    The motherboard was claimed to be replaced but within just 2 days the same problem(audio and display both) persisted.
    it was again given for service for 2 more times, and the company kept stalling us telling us that they would replace the unit.
    But in vain, i gave the cell for replacement again on the 24th of January 2008, as the problems kept on persisting.This time persaonally to Mr.Maniyan(In Charge), who promised to get the unit replaced and asked me to collect it on the 28th of the same month.As directed i called him up on Monday to ask whether i can come for the replacement but he kept on stalling endlessly till 6th of February which is when i got annoyed to the limit and told him to replace the cell right away but he told me to wait for some more days,I agreed but i told him to give me one final date failing which i would go to consumer right and complain, which he agreed to for the 8th of february 2008.
    But today(8th Feb 08)mr.Maniyan is again telling me to come on monday. when i told him that i needed the cell right away he told me that i should take my old defective cell if i asked for the cell
    again, i asked him how is it in his hands , he replied by saying he does and i have no option but wait.

    the screen is just blinking black and white after i deleted one of installed application
    some r saying that the basic software has been deleted .
    I had purchase Sony Ericsson K790i from Hot spot Rajouri Garden on Dated: 07.Nov.2007 from December I'm starts facing problem with my handset.Sometimes it's keypads stop working or sometime joystick & sometime Both were not Working.I had visited Service Centre Rajouri Garden several times.On last visit they took One Month to repair the set & they said that they had replace the Motherboard of the set.Now again I'm facing the same of problem.I'm very harras from this situation.

    I have lost my mobile, while travelling from Pune station to Baner. It was a SE w900i phone (IMEI no:[protected]. I have blocked that SIM and am using another new SIM with the same Mobile no.

    My concern is that i want to recover my phone back. It cost me a lot of money and there were all my contact information in that mobile.

    I have lodged a complaint with the police, but i doubt that would be of any use.

    k800i — Not accepting java files

    I have k800i. When I click games and application icon, it shoes operation failed. Why is this happening?. How can I rectify this defect? please reply.
    I have purchase Sony ericsson k750i. It is in warranty. My first problem is on 2nd-Jan-2008. Camera door problem. I am given it to a Sony-Ericsson service center in Secunderabad(Solara International Limited) A.P, he checked and it is physical damage you have to pay 750/-Rs. I paid it and it is replaced on 12th-jan-08. It is not problem, But from that day onwards am getting problem with Bluetooth connectivity. Mobile is unable to connect to other Bluetooth device.
    So again am given my mobile to Sony-Ericsson service center in Ameerpet (Solara International Limited) on 14th-Jan-08.This problem is rectified on 28th-jan-08(After so many times I request to rectify the problem early) and he told me problem with board so Board is replaced.Finally it is Bluetooth is working is fine. But I found another problem with my mobile is Joystick is not working properly. I asked so many time to replace the joystick , the sony ericsson Authorized person told me right now stock is not available so please come after a week. Day by day joystick is not working properly finally keypad is struck. And 1,2,3 and phone switch off key’s are not working. So again am given phone to Sony-Ericsson service center in Ameerpet (Solara International Limited) 14th-feb-08.after so long time sony service center return back my phone on 8th-march-08, in this mean time so many times I called to sony service center regarding my phone status no response he is telling always some reasons and escaping. I checked my phone immediately in service center keypad “zero”(0) key is not working I asked and it is rectified. This time also he told me again board problem, and board is replaced. On same day I found another problem with my sonyk750i. it is not connecting to computer using USB cable. Next day means on 10th-march-08 again am given in sony service center Ameerpet. He checked and and told me problem with board. I asked how many time you will change board. And how many time it is getting problem. He taken and mobile for service and given to me same day evening. Again he told me bord problem and board replaced. Ok fine.. Again am getting problem with Keypad am given for service in same service center on 11th march 08. till knw no response.. please help me. I would like to complaint in consumer forum AP.
    I had purchased a Sony Ericsson mobile W700i
    on 16/02/2008 from on of your dealer on Trivandrum ( Kerala ) i got a fresh packet, but at the time of buying i d'nt look the head phone.     Sony India / Wega TV And DVD Player — Unscrupulous business practices involving supply of reconditioned products as new

    I was appauled at the unscrupulous business practices of Sony World, a company outlet at the aforesaid address in Kolkata, India. I bought and paid for a new Wega 25 inch TV and a DVD player on 8th March for SobhaHealthCare, a nonprofit organization. The same evening, two obviously reconditioned appliances were delivered and attempts were made to impose the same on us. As a result, cardio pulmonary resuscitation courses had to be cancelled at the Health Center causing immense grief, inconvenienceand monetary loss to the Center and the participants.Eventually, the new appliances were delivered at 8-30 pm on10thMarch after a lot of grief and anxiety.amounting to harassment.

    Hello Sir/Madam,
    I bought SE P1i on 24th Feb 2008 from a well known dealer UNIVERCELL (Avadi, Chennai branch) .The handsfree given along with the handset is a faulty one.The left ear piece have distortions while listening to music.Why a product from a world class company such as Sony Ericsson do get such problems within just 20 days from purchase?Who should be held responsible for such issues?

    With my faulty handsfree I went to a SE authorized service center ( SHYAM ELECTRONICS, Ambattur, Chennai).The so called service professionals over there do not even have the basic courtesy of dealing with a customer politely.
    When I enquired when will I get my new handfree, the response was a pre-determined statement " We currently dont have stocks, You need to wait for another 15 days ".I mentioned it as a pre-determined statement because I heard the reception representative telling the same statement to all of the customers who came there and also to them who enquired over phone.
    Unless they go and inform concerned authorities, how will they get the stock? If the Service Center doesn't have the stock, who is responsible for getting the stock ?Is this a customer's job to inform the concerned department and get the things under the roof?

    Till date, I didn't receive the replaced handsfree and will wait for another 5 days, as mentioned by the signing authority (Mr.Venkatesh) at Shyam Electronics.

    Note : Iam preparing to file a legal suit against Mr.Venkatesh(Signing Authority), Shyam Electronics, Ambattur Chennai and also against Sony Ericsson in consumer court.I will be taking it further legally from here on.Its just the final call.

    Now my general concerns are :

    1) Do Sony Ericsson take the responsibilty of all accessories given along with the SE handset at the time of purchase ?
    2) Do all accessories and handsets go through QUALITY CHECKS ?
    3) If yes, then why more than 90 % of SE customers have problem with their SE products, that too in their warranty period itself ?


    " Nothing can be perfect " I do agree with that but then we have got something like " WARRANTY PERIOD " .


    Why do we have that and who is responsible for making sure that customers do get the best service atleast during the warranty period, if they face any issue with the product they had bought with their hard earned money ?

    Only opening many service centers in and around city is the responsibilty of Sony Ericsson management? Who is then responsible for making sure that customers do get best service out of them ? Who has to take initiative to resolve this problem ?



    Being a Sony Ericsson customer, I need you to address the above concerns as soon as possible.

    sony ericsson mobile s500i — awful condition of cell made by service centre

    I purchased a sony ericsson mobile model no. s500i from Sony Ericsson Experience Store (U.K. Enterprises)- Panchkula, Haryana on 10th nov. 2007 bearing IMEI no.[protected]
    This was the day when I did the biggest mistake of my life…. (Sorry but that’s the truth)
    I have already sent my cell to more than 6 times to your service centre Salora International Limited, sec – 34, Chandigarh. But after getting such services, I guess you yourself will ask them to shut their office. I am enclosing all the receipts of the complaints (being filed). Kindly consider them and take some serious action so that I get justice. All the complaints are as mentioned with the condition of the cell when received back.

    Problem reported in mp3 player as the songs were intermixing automatically when a song was played.
    Service provided: software upgraded.

    Problem reported: keypad started getting cracked, lines in video and still camera.
    Filed on: 18th dec. 2007 (as the reqd. thing is never in stock with these people)

    Reported on: 25th dec., 2007 (4 days after getting the keypad replaced)
    Problem reported: keypad cracked (even after the assurance that it won’t crack), lines in camera.
    Filed on: 3rd Jan. 2008 (these people celebrate their holidays 366 days a year)
    Service provided: keypad replaced, software upgraded, bonzer swap (which ruined my cell)
    Received back on: 28th Jan. 2008 (but the date in the receipt is 16th Jan. Till 25th it was not even repaired)
    Condition of the cell:
    Outer body got loose and it was not less than a toy which makes irritating sounds, body was found cracked near the volume button.
    Left side of the central dial got pressed inside and it did not work properly.
    Clearly visible scratches found all over the cell (which were never there before submitting the cell at the service centre)
    Lines in the camera still reported.

    COMPLAINT 4:
    Reported on: within a month of getting the cell swapped but was denied to be filed (as service centre was closed on 3rd Saturday instead of 2nd)
    Filed on: 21st march, 08
    Problem reported: central button not working properly, songs intermixing, lines in camera, crack near the volume button.
    THE COMPLAINT FILED IS TOTALLY DIFFERENT FROM THE PROBLEMS REPORTED (maybe that receptionist was dreaming…..)
    Service provided: cell was swapped with an assurance that it won’t trouble me anymore and if it does, they’ll surely replace it this time.
    Condition of the cell:
    Countless scratches (quite big ones this time)
    Cracks on the body.
    Central button not working at all.
    Gap between the slider is almost 2.5 – 3 mm now.

    Reported on: 25th march just after seeing this pathetic situation of my cell
    Filed on: not filed as yet as the engineers deny to accept the fact that they have created a mess out of my cell.
    I was unhappy with the services provided but now that unhappiness has turned into shear anger because of this management. They clearly hope that by keeping silent, I’ll go away.
    Every time I went to the service centre, I was naïve because I thought that they intended to resolve the issue once they examined my cell.
    Your customer care is exceptional in its awfulness. Customers are passed from voice to voice via automated machines and are left dangling on the line at their own expense, never get to talk to the same person again and as a result, never get the same story twice.
    I’m afraid that customer care problems are beyond solving even by the M.D. but my cell phone is an issue that you can fix at a stroke. I’m relying on you to clean up the mess that your service center people have created. Please consider my plea and take a considerable action as soon as possible.

    Sony/P1i — VERY POOR SERVICES AND COMMITMENT, I never see

    problem loading pc suite/Java Run time Error/Mail attachment is not working

    i hve bought a sony ericson p1i phone 1 month ago and I faced too many problems of my phone device...
    I contacted Sony Authorized service center for the same and got the DOA also for replacement, Based on test engineer request, I took back that compalint and he assured me problem will get resolved.
    After that visited one more authorized service center and had lot of communication with Stupid call center persons and their managers.
    Nobody knows the problem and tries to resolve the issue instead of saying the handset is OK and we can not do anything.. stupid managers/test engineer.
    I requested those managers please give me written statement on Sony Erricson letter pad with Signature of Country Manager, India.. they are totally denying to give any written statement and not rerady to replace/refund money the handset.
    I will sent this complaints first you people across the web with more details asap.
    If SONY has name then immedialty it needs to be resolved and will take proper actions against stupid test engineers/call center supervisor/p1i expert team/executives.

    Sony Sb100 DVD Player — Repairing not done properly

    My sony DVD Player was repaired by MADONNA PLUS PLAMOOD; so called sony authorized service center. They changed the power unit and the ic. After a couple of days the player is in standby mode and never turned on. So i took the same piece to them and they rectified it. After that i have to take the piece again to them because of same complain; ie the player is not changing from standby to power on. So i took this to them again and this time they took a couple of days and rectified the piece. Now this set went on to work till one month and again it became faulty with the same complaint. This time they checked it and said that the DVD board has some problem and the this piece cannot be rectified. Please help me on this and let me know possible soultion. I strongly doubt that this happened because of their carelessness. Please help me on this.

    I got SE S500i on 24th Feb 2008 and it started giving problem from 10th April.2008.
    It has all kind of problem like
    1. Phone is getting hanged at least once in 2 days for 10-15 min. then starts automatically.
    2. Calls are getting dropped off in-between,
    3. Memory card problems,
    4. Keypad problems
    5. Very poor battery backup
    6. Now cell has switched off for forever...:)
    Went to service station and now they said they will replace some body parts of handset but they won't give me complete replacement.

    It's of very poor quality...we R spending 10K on it and it's not working only...I don't kw what kind of cell Sony Ericson is producing...plz don't buy at least this handset...n I suggest not to go for any SOny Ericson Hand set if we face this kind of problems in a 15 days o[censored]se. When they are pricing the things too high i.e. 10K and above they should be caseful about all these things.

    Let's see what the replacement quality will be and if that's not up to the point I personally ask all SE customer's to move on some better options available in teh market that's the only option we have now.

    I came across this site while I was searching for imintpoints.com in Google.
    In my credit card statement, I came to know that the points I have earned on purchase of the handycam have been transferred to imint. More over, the balance lying unexpired in my account has also been transferred to imint.
    I am not being able to log on to imint.com, but from some of the complaints I have seen on this site, It is totally uncalled for.
    Before a person purchases a card, the option of reward points is advertised very aggressively. Later on when you earn some points and want to redeem them, you are taken in for a ride.
    This is unjustified and not in keeping with sound business practices.

    I purchased Sony ericsson w580i phone from chennai with one year warranty. But within 3 months i got display problem in my mobile(black lines on the screen). It day by day increased. I approached the Sony service station. They reason what they told is very shocking for me. They said due to water get inside the display got affected and this problem is out of warranty. In this hot summer the temperature is more than 100F. I argued with them. They told due sweat in hands the phone was affected. (I think we souls use the phone in Himalayas only). They are not at all willing to replace the display. They asked 2000 RS for repairing my mobile. I can give 100% assurance i never expose my mobile in wet area. They cheating the customers. When i was in the Sony service station three more w580 mobiles were come with the same problem. They repeatedly telling the same story to every one. If we got problem in key pad, charger etc kind of low price items only they changed. Otherwise they bluff like this only. I planned to book a legal act against the Sony errisson and my retail seller. I have proper bill, warranty without any use. These kind of response and problems only encouraging the grey market. Then what is the different between the authorized shops and gray market.

    SONY ERICSSON IS JUST A BRAND HYPE AND DOESN'T ABOUT THEIR SERVICE TO CUSTOMERS. ITS ALL FAKE PROMISES THA YOU GIVE
    I had a Sony ericsson K750i mobile which I gave it for a service in an authorised service cetner of Sony ericsson - Durga Communications, Kammanahalli, Bangalore. I gave it on 9th April 2008 and was promised that it will be ready in 4 days. Now till date I am behind the service center person without any use. In the mean time I called the customer service center of Sony Ericsson 3 time and all the time I was assured a call back which never happened. This is giving great difficulty to me as a customer. I am not expecting this kind of a dealing from companies like Sony ericsson. Sony ericsson support center is some thing which gave more insult to me than the service center.

    I purchsed W580i on 11.05.08. This is my first SONY ERICSSON phone which was bought because of its BRAND IMAGE. As per the sonyericsson website specification sheet, it is mentioned this phone as 2 MP camera with 4x zoom. In actual, 4x works only for VGA mode, which I came to know only after the purchase & from its brochure . I WANT TO EMPHASIZE THAT INCOMPLETE/WRONG INFORMATION WAS GIVEN TO ME (BY SONY ERICSSON SITE & RPG CELLUCOM (DEALER)). Based on this wrong information I have purchased this phone which doesnot fullfill my requirements o[censored]sing it as camera (2mp) which is its one of the highlighted feature. I WANT PROPER SOLUTION/COMPENSATION FOR THIS PROBLEM.

    Complaint for the same has been logded with customer care with complaint id: SE534-8426 on 12.05.08.

    I have saved "A COPY OF THE WEBSITE SPECIFICATION SHEET", captured on 12.05.08 which doesnot specify the correct data.

    I am not able to get any contact no. of SONY ERICSSON official/represenatative personnel to raise the issue & get possible remedy.
    They (Customer care) are not accepting for providing any compenstation or taking back the handset nor they are accepting their mistake.

    Sony Mobile W910i — bad product and rude dealer

    I have bought Sony W910i on 17th feb from jlk Enterprises(galleria) for Rs 17000. From day 1 I am experiencing problems like
    1.call disconnect.
    2.Voice break(in local calls and in std you can only hear 2 words of a sentence)
    3.No voice clarity
    4.Signal problem(Emergency call message is there almost all the time)
    5.Display goes off.

    I have contacted dealer several times but first he told me that it's a software update problem. After updating the software the problem remains there. He is a very rude and unprofessional dealer. Now he says we don't manufacture products its a sony product go to sony don't come to us.I am fed with the mobile. Don't know what to do.

    I had purchased Sony 520i about a year back, and since then the display problem has been coming . About 4 times I have changed the flex cable, and each time I give for servicing it takes about 4-5 days to get it rectified . and only Salora Services in HSr layour - bangalore has this facility and no other service centre accepts the same.I hd changed the cable on 4th april and now its again not working. Everytime I cannot be spending Rs790/- on the cable .

    Is there any solution to the problem ?

    I bought a Sonyericsson P1i in Dubai Duty Free late September 07. A month later, in Kuwait where I work, the phone turned itself off. When I turned the unit back on it went in a loop of turning on, showing the SE logo, displaying the progress bar as if to complete the boot, and then turning itself off - it has been like that since.

    I contacted the service center(Fono) in Dubai that was on the warranty. I was told that they cannot honor the warranty and that I should contact the place where I bought the unit.

    I contacted the SE service center in Kuwait (Barrak) where they looked at it for a couple of hours then told me "to bring it back to dubai."

    I went back to Dubai in December, 07 and contacted the Customer Service of the Dubai Airport Duty Free Shop - where I bought the unit. I showed the person at the counter the problem (booting on and off) - I was told that they will arrange for the unit to be sent to their service center. I went back to Kuwait.

    In JAnuary, 2008, the Duty Free emailed to inform me that they couldn't do anything with the unit and attached to the email was a report from the service center saying that the motherboard of the unit is bent; and that the unit has been misused - and that I should collect the unit.

    How could I have misused a brand new phone for its motherboard to bend? So I wrote back in protest.

    They said that the SE service center in Kuwait might be responsible - and that I should have contacted the Duty Free first. But the warranty said that I shoud contact Fono - which I did. Who contacts the retailer for repair anyway?

    A lot of pages of email later, I went back to Dubai in March and collected the unit.

    So now, I have a Sony Ericsson P1i that's been used for only a month, that boots on and off and still under warranty (until Sept.2008). I have long since bought a Motorola Z6.

    Lessons learned:

    Do not buy a phone in Dubai Duty Free Shop. If I had gone home to Australia, it meant that I had to go back to Dubai to have it repaired. Also, what is the sense of issuing me a warranty card that was inaccurate? I will never shop there again.

    Sony Ericsson's customer care service is appaling. The service centers in the Gulf are incompetent. I have two service centers pointing fingers at each other. By the way, I bought my first Sonyericsson phone in 2003, a T610. The same thing happened (booting on and off) but there was no problem fixing it in Australia. But because of this bad P1i experience, I will not buy another Sonyericsson phone again.

    I am thinking of hiring a lawyer. What do you think? If there's anyone who could help please contact me.

Almost more than one week has happened, no service engr has attended the problem. This is a very poor service by one of the leading brand company in world.     I have purchased a Sony Ericsson 790i mobile phone from Crystal Cell Phone-Authorised Dealer in Chennai.
    I was quite convinced with the features that this phone offered. But to my dismay, there are a few technical faults in the product.
    Firstly, the speakers give distorted output. I have inquired to many users of the same model-they seem to be happy with their product which naturally means that my phone has faulty speakers. I tried to explain this to my dealer but he says, this is the only way the 790i speaker works!!
    Secondly, for an outgoing call made from this phone, the sound of the caller and the receiver suddenly mutes and I have to cut the active call redial. The duration of the call when the unit goes on mute mode is not fixed and so I could not prove this to my dealer when he was testing.
    But the fact is that both the problems are genuine and I need help either from the company or a third party to solve it.
    Please advice.

    Sony Ericsson Mobile (w700i) — Sevice Center not performing well

    My sony erricson mobile W700i (which is in warrnty period) was showing some problem regarding Battery Charging through a charger. As per my understanding it was just a problem of mobile Socket in which we connect charger. As my walkman and mobile charging was also working in once when i tried for thrice from a Month because of same reason.
    I had given my mobile to service center(Goyal Shopping Center, Borivali(w), Mumbai) they told me that within two days they will give me estimates if something which is not covered in warrenty preiod.
    After two days they called me and said it will take around 750/- for some technical reason and they need one week to get it doen. I said ok.
    After a week when i went to collect my mobile they told me they need more two days as some parts they have not received from Sony.
    Still today they are jsut telling me with in two days it will get ready.
    Now its around a month and now they are telling me that your moile motherboard is having some problem so your estimated has got changed and need to pay 1200/-.
    How we can believe this service center guys?
    Are they killing time intentionally?
    Do they want to make more money by keeping sony erricsson customer on hanging?
    Are they tellign us don't take sony erricson mobile again as you are aware how we are proving you the service?
    Are they having that much workload that they can't manage?
    Sony erricson has to take it very seriously? When i went to service center for my mobiel i always found big queue of customers? Is this the quality???? Is this the service? ...

    sony ericssion k-530 — unprofessional approach

    i bought a Sony Ericsson k-530i around 9 months ago, and the phone is still in warranty period. in this phone i have charging problem and also i have facing some video problem in vidio some lines are occure but your Customer Care excutive monica (Vaishnavi Services, A1 Archarya Niketan, Muyur Vihar, Phase 1)did not properly behavie with me her attitude are not good plzs do care whatever u do.hope ur response would be possitive.

    sony ericsson/W700i — cell phone submited for repair but not returned yet

    dear sir/mam
    i have submited my cellphone on 11-june-2008 for repair which is in guarantee period. Since two months had passed but there is no positive response from there side. I hav made around 250 calls n visited several time at there repair center.

    I have been using a Sony Ericsson and alas over the weekend it landed in the washing machine, went through all the cycles and was taken out 4 hours later -- I dried it and left it in the son, i swithched it on last night and to my amazement everything worked. Thought i would share news of a good product.
    This is true
    I strongly agree with this. Please take initiative to stop this kind of irresponsible franchises!!!

      i bought a w810i mobile in the month of august 2007.with in two days i observed a problem in software of camera.i.e;when grabed the picture i found rectangular frames on the image in different colours like red dark blue black.after few days it is effected by drops of water.when we approched for service center they are asking for charge.what i have to do for this?initially it is having problem,how does it get rectified?

          I bought a sony ericsson w580i mobile phone from Subiksha mobiles. on 8/Dec/2007. After one week on 15/Dec/2007 the phone was set dead. I was not able to switch on the phone. I gave the phone for service in the nearest service centre (Shyam electronics , Ambattur). Till today i have not received it back. They say that the spares were not supplied yet by the sony ericsson. The worst of all is the sony ericsson customer service. When i called there was a customer support executive called tanushree from chennai, She did not respond properly. She cut off the phone. When i again called she attended and cut. Is this the way a leading company giving service to the cutomers. Very much dissatisfied with the customer service and the company.

          yes i too bought two w580 sets and one of the sets became dead within 15 days. i contacted the sony ericsson indian office and got the replacement. after the six months the other set also went dead. again i got a replacement for that also. dont give the set to service centres. give it to sony ericsson authorised distributor. actually the model w580 itself is a failure model and everybody who bought the model is getting fed up of it. the key pads are also getting broken within 15 days. also many times when we try to attend a incoming call by opening the slide the call gets cut and becomes missed call. w580 is the very worst model. u may contact the following e mail ids for better results.           Sony Ericsson's Customer Support is so poor.I bougt a W580i in 28 Feb 2008.One Month before my phone automatically switch off when head phone is conneted.I gave it to Sony erricsson customer service centre in last month.due to their unprofession approach I didn't get my phone back.Nokia's customer support system is so quick and efficient.

          I have never before been motivated to write a review in my life however this phone is the worst phone that I have ever owned in my life and AT& T has been unhelpful in fixing it. Lets start by saying within the first week I needed to get a replacement since the screen broke the second day. Then when I was on vacation the bottom part come right off and then the next day it just stopped working. My insurance refused to cover this since a part was missing and had to pay over 50 dollars to do this. And a couple days later the speaker just stopped working. So now my phone works fine but won’t ring or make any noise. I talked to the AT&T and Sony Erickson people and they both refuse to fix my phone since the little dot under the battery went red. I never dropped my phone in a puddle or even had time to get wet in the rain before my speakers stopped working yet because the little red dot (moisture indicator) was detected they are at grounds to refuse fixing the phone. In my opinion this is the worst phone design that I have ever used and will go back to using the black and white phone I used before this which proves to be reliable. The W580i has only been a weight on my shoulders. If you are still convinced and set in your ways on buying this phone go to a store and check it out. Turn the phone over and try to remove the back cover (where the battery resides). When I brought the phone in the first time to get fixed the woman at the store took five minutes trying to pry it open and had to get help from another employee. She said that some of them are hard and others work fine. Thus from my numerous experiences I beg you not to buy the phone. Thanks -Sara

          Sony Ericsson-W580i — Faulty mobile phone not being replaced by the service centre

          I have purchased sony W580i mobile phone from Hotspot outlet on 29/06/08.Model #W580i, IMEI# [protected]. After 4 days of purchase, I found that the LCD display is faulty with several lines appearing all through. I approached Hotspot store on July 3rd 2008, where Mr Vinay Kumar guided me to approach the Sony service centre since as per them, after 48 hrs they have no responsiblity for any damages, even if it is a manufacturing defect.
          I approached sony service centre on July 4th, 2008 and Mr Manish Kanodia told me that this is a common problem with the set, so the LCD will be changed.But till today(20 July 08) they say that the LCD is not available from the company.
          I am not able to use my mobile properly as the visibility is very poor and am very frustrated with the services provided by Sony.

          Sony Ericsson — Faulty Phone W580i

          I had purchased a SonyEricksonW580i on 31/5/08. After a month the LCD conked off & I had submitted it with their Authorised Service Centre "Oren Infotech" at Borivili. The Phone
          was returned after 10 days, though the LCD was functioning the
          Key Board panel was broken. I suspect the service centre has changed the Panel which was in good condition & substituted it with a damaged one.I took the phone to the Mobile Store
          for replacement but was directed to the Sony Service Centre & they have taken the Phone but have not repaired it till date.
          The Excuse, they don't have spare Key Board Panel.I would like Sony to live up to the reputation of being Globaly respected Brand and set an example for good business practices in India. This would include disciplinary action against the dealer in question and stronger dealer certification and quality control.
          I am facing problem with Sony ericsson W580i. Oftenly it gets hanged. This time it's turned off during call and not switching On. Please suggest how can I switch on this set.

          Sony Ericsson W580i — Faulty Mobile

          Respected Sir/Madam,
          I purchased a mobile phone “ Sony Ericson W580i Black” Model IMEI No-[protected] on 25th July, 2008 from HOT SPOT RETAIL Ltd (K/2 B, Lajpat Nagar-II, New Delhi – 110024 ) for Rs. 10, 000/- . Please find attached the scanned copy of Invoice. Following have been the issues faced by me with the phone
          1. February, 2009: Head Phone stopped working and it took almost 1 month after repeated requests to get a new set of the same.
          2. March, 2009: The phone stopped receiving the calls (failed to perform its main function) and the keypad was damaged. I contacted “TECHNOCARE”, a Sony Ericsson service (E-17, Central Market, Lajpat Nagar II, New Delhi). The whole data, back-up, memory, contact list and software were formatted and I was ensured that no problem would occur in the future. The whole process took 1 week.
          3. April, 2009: One week after the last repair done by the service centre, the battery of my phone stopped functioning and it used to take 2 minutes for my phone’s battery to discharge completely. Phone used to get switched-off automatically. I don’t know how many calls I had missed because of that.
          4. April, 2009: I again contacted “TECHNOCARE”, a Sony Ericsson service (E-17, Central Market, Lajpat Nagar II, New Delhi), for the problem and when I received back the phone (again after 100% formatting, I don’t know how much data has been lost in the process.) my phone’s display was badly damaged and I couldn’t even pick-up the first call. I wonder what they did with my phone.
          5. 15th May, 2009: I had contacted “TECHNOCARE” again for the recent issues with mobile and have not been able to receive my mobile even today. I was promised that the phone would be returned in 2-3 days. 1 week has passed and nothing has happened.
          6. 18th may, 2009: I contacted “Sony Ericson’s corporate complaint centre” and they registered a complaint (Complaint Id: SE[protected] and promised an action within 48 hours. They haven’t contacted me since then. When I called them up on 21st May, 2009 they informed that I would receive response by 25th May, 2009.
          My mobile’s warranty is expected to be expired by 25th July, 2008. After this period I don’t expect any assistance from the company.
          So PLEASE HELP…….As a result of this my regular work and my relations with friends, family and loved ones are getting affected.

          W580i — phn not working properly

          I bought W580i on 10th jan 09 from mobile store in Noida.After 2 days it started showing some problems.I took my phn to an authorised service in sector-18, Noida.They updated the software of my phn bt again after 3-4 days it started showing the same problem.I again took my phn to the same service station nd again they updated the software and said now it wont create any problem.But after a week or so it started showing the same problem.Now when i went to the same service centre they submitted my phn and said that they wil send the phn to the company to replace its motherboard.I got back my phn after 15-20days and they said that its motherboard has been changed.But again after few days it started showing the same problem and some mre new problems.The problems of my phn is increasing day by day.Now i request you to plz replace my set as it is still in its warranty period.

          Sony Ericsson _W580i — Costlier failures

          Myself and one of my colleague had purchased the following Mobile handsets from Sony Ericsson distributor in Mar'08.
          1) W 200i - IMEI No.[protected]Price Rs. 4900)
          2) W580i - IMEI No. [protected] (Price - Rs. 10,300)

          2 months back, both the mobiles were not switching on. (Complaints on both handsets with interval of 2 days).

          Just a red light in the handset was blinking.
          After submiting the handsets to Sony Ericsson authorised service centre, we came to know that there is defect in the motherboard of both the handsets and motherboards of the same need to be relaced.
          For this, we will have to pay @ 70 % cost of the handset price.

          Thisis really surprising that the defect is in the product and not due to customer usage or abuse since both the mobiles got switched off suddenly.

          Why should the customer pay for the defect in Product ? If such failures are going to occur in such a little life of product, then how Sony Ericsson products can be considered as Reliable one? Why should we pay such higher costs for these products ?
          It seems like to buy a Sony Ericsson phone is a crime in India atleast in Delhi because of their poor service. First of all there is no list of their service centers on their official website, one needs to call the customer support everytime to know about that which is obviously not toll-free & even they have half information. Secondly they just have 2-3 in whole delhi & their service is pathetic to say atleast. This is my 3rd sony ericsson phone & it is still in warranty & it took me two weeks just to find their service center other than the "lajpat nagar one" which is like an antique shop coz once you give your phone it'll never be repaired or will take whole lot of time & even then it's not sure. Finally i find one in nehru place, Hope it will work otherwise it's better not to buy sonyericsson mobiles in India.
          In my view the company needs to do something in terms of their after sale service otherwise the day is not far when the name of this international brand will be washed away from Indian minds especially in mobile sector.

            Respected sir,

            My name is mahesh i bought a song handset mobile phone on 13th May 2007 from Univercell mobiles in besantnagar Adyar.

            My mobile phone was fallen in a rain water and its not worked at all. Then i took my mobile phone to the sony service station. They said the motherboard was to be changed and 65% of the money to be needed for change the motherboard.

            But i really wonder why the branded and famour sony ercisson dont want to give any support or warranty for the water resistance. My brother who using motorllo phone and he never had anyproblem even if he dipped his phone in the water.

            I am really disappointed and upset with sony ericsson as i Bought this phone by Monthly EMI and before the emi got over I lost my phone.

            I dont know what i should do now. Please help me out if possible

                I have purchased Sony Speakers (Item #[protected] from ebay site but these were not genuine. I have opened a dispute with ebay but no action has been taken against the seller - he is still selling un-genuine products of reputed brands . Please advise me in the matter - what course of action can be taken against these fraud sellers. I am also surprised that Ebay has not taken any action in the matter as they are earning good commission on these sales.

                  I have Hi Fi music system Model No DHC FL5D last in May ie/ 2006 i had problem with it's switches for which i contacted its service centre 'Teknika Electronics Dombivli''. System was attended and delivered to me but with new problem it's DVD section was not working properly. Every time i contacted service centre he used to give new exscuses from humidity to poor quality CD but was not able to repair perfectly afterwards he started avoiding my compliant and even roughly behaved some instances.I registered online compliant and dialled toll free number for my compliant but every time i was told Sony's person will contact me but never contacted me. At last i got phone number of there executive who was incharge of service department but when i contacted him second time when he failed to contact me he straight away said don't bother me by making calls. Later i was told to pay (at concession)for servicing of the machine whichwas damaged by them Why because company policy.Later on i started procedure for filling in consumer court but even by that there was no change in his attitude This shows that he was quiet experience in such kind of cases and i was not the first.During this complete episode he did not followed any guidelines stated by SONY in handling service compliant right from begining till end. But most distrubing thing is that he escaped and i received punishment by paying the expenses of repairing why because i blindly believed them because of brand loyalty and my music system was lying idle for 1 1/2 years. I have decided that from here onwards i will never bye SONY's product in my life. We Indians are not AT PAR with our counter parts in USA or Europe in treatment by this MNC.

                    I purchased the W 580i set in the name of Biswarup Mohanty in the month of october 2007 but the battery backup was very bad so I went to the cell planet Shop which is situated at dolamundai, cuttack(orissa) and gave the set on 18/12/2007 to the executive of sony erricson Mr.Mukesh which he handed over to Mr. Anil Patra his TL the next day itself, but due to their negligience the set was submitted at the service centre and the job sheet was made on 22/12/2007 and till date they have not rectified my problem for which till date I am not having any mobile set with me.
                    If this is the type of service you render to the customers then better stop selling your company products in our state.
                    On 27/12/2007 I am going to file a case against them at the consumer court.
                    Plz ensure it and reply back asap.

                      I had given a laptop (VGN-FS940), for repair on 18.12.07 at the sony authorised service center in Lajpat Nagar.
                      It was promised that the laptop will be serviced at I will be informed the status within 48 hours.Till today (22.12.07) everytime I call up the customer care , I am told that the Laptop has been fixed and is under observation.I fail to undersatnd that what kind of after sales service does Sony belives in?? Does it take 3 days for Sony to identify a problem in Sony Product???
                      On the service job sheet its written that all mondays will be a holiday , whereas today(saturday) when i called up the customer care i was told that the head office is closed due to some INTERNAL meeting at the office, and tomm(Sunday) again the office will be closed. I was suggested by the customer care representative that I can collect the laptop on Monday., But again the Lajpat Nagar center will be closed in Monday.

                      I never expected this kind of poor service by Sony...

                      i purchased a new vaio from gurgaon's authorized sony showroom and from the starting day it was having a problem regarding DVD writer .I have given vaio to gurgaon sevice center 10 days back and till date no response from the customer center .They are saying it is to be replaced and it will take only 2 days . Already 10 days have been passed and still they need more days to get it done . I do not know how many days they need to get DVD writer replaced .
                      Sony give extended warrenty in approx. 6000 rs for 2 year if they can not maintain the service quality after sale so why sony is waisting time and money of customer . really very disappointing .
                      Really I liked Sony Laptops But due to its poor after sale service.
                      I will suggest even to my enemy to go for any other but not Sony Laptop.
                      I don't know what there testers do before handing over the product to showrooms.
                      And there Service Centers are one step farward. I had given them my Laptop 10 days back regarding replacement of DVD Writer and still they want more time.
                      They say that they don't have Part and they have to take it from foreign, really very for poor customers like me.
                      Dear readers go for any laptop or live without it but never purchase Sony or You will feel cheated.
                      Sony higher authorities, Are you sleeping ? Close all your shops and stop making customer fool.
                      Specially at least take back the dealership of your Gurgaon Service Center . I don't know they do, No response or status they tell me whenever I call them. Just say that It will be repaired but When?
                      No answer.(10 days have been already passed.)
                      They are relly too careless and spoiling the name of Sony .

AT CHENNAI IN THE AUTHORISED SERVICE CENTRE THEY ARE TELLING THEY CAN NOT REPAIR STATING THE SONY PRODUCT PURCHESED AT US CANNOT BE REPAIRED AT INDIA EVEN THOUGH IT IS HAVING WARRENTY. THIS MULTI NATIONALS ARE SIMPLY CHEATING POOR INDIANS.
                      I would suggest my enemies to purchase sony vaio laptops so that they will get screwed up heavily...my friends, please don't buy sony vaio notebooks. you will never get any type of services at any cost. I too suffered a lot.

                      I totally sympathise...I have found Sony Customer service absolutely frustrating. My lap top( only 18 months old) has been out of service for months...first they told me to buy a new battery which was infuriating as others in my house with cheaper lap tops and had heavier use and were older had no problems with their battery. I replaced it (Very Expensive)and that was not the problem at all... I have had all emails to them unanswered since. If any one knows why a window keeps coming up saying 'switch off, take out battery, replace and switch on again ' please let me know as that has been the problem both before and after new battery.                       I had 3 vaio laptops in 4 years time, they all died. Yes i'm an ! The first one i haved repaired, new motherboard, $800, 8 months later broke again. My brother and i bought the same sony TV, first his tv broke down, six months later mine. I have a sony video camera, it's broke allready twice, lucky i have an extended 5 year warranty on that camera.

                      I bought Sony Vaio VGN-NS 150J in Nov 2008.

                      I am faced with a problem that the system restarts automatically.

                      I tried formatting, but even the recovery disc doesn't work now. (In the past, I faced a similar problem and the recovery disc came to my rescue restoring my computer to its original configurations).

                      I went and showed the laptop to Authorised Service center in Ahmedabad (Sachet Area), Gujarat, India. The customer service executive offered very little help. He could not identify the problem even after examining the laptop and said that the problem can be identified only if I keep the laptop with them for a week and still he was not sure if he could help me solve the problem.

                      Where on earth am I expected to take my laptop for repair if the Sony Service Center cannot help me?

                      by some means as i was outside india i cldnt extend my warrenty period and now my lap top is completely shut
                      and wen i go to service centre they say its a prob with motherboard and an estimate of 20, 000 rupees with no warrenty at all for the changed component...
                      i cant extend my warrenty by paying extra amount even, such is the policy of the company which is followed by no other manufacturer of lap tops in india...

                      Another bad experience with Sony Service Center. I have a Sony Erricsion P1i mobile. I got problem with It's display in May 2009. I submitted this to "Neeru Enterprises " sec-18, Noida and they said you'll get this after 2 weeks, after repairing. After lots of followups and visit till Aug, 2009, finally they said "YOU are being impatient, it takes time to repair, we don't have screens these days. Once we'll receive the screen we'll repair your mobile." Again He said " Yedi itni hin jaldi hai then apna mobile le jao". I saw one of the most harrashed and rude behaviour of a service executive. Even I complained this on sony Customer care. but don't know what action the took.

                      Now I do agree, sony is one of the worst company, in terms of services.

                      My mobile is still in the same condition till March, 2010, I am not going to purchase any sony probuct. I lost all my faith in its product and service.
                      Am not impressed with the Sony Vaio aftercare service - a 2 year old laptop costing £800+ has a graphics problem. I visit my local Sony shop to be given the premium rate phone number of a call centre in Cairo, Egypt, who state there has been a NVidea graphics fault previously and should be repaired free of charge as warranty has been extended. I advise problem and am rung back on the wrong number given, I call back again (at 35p per minute) to be told it will be £230 to take the laptop and diagnose the fault. Then it could cost between £340 and £850 to repair. I think PC World at £229 per repair would be a better choice. Not a very impressive service for such a renowned company. After purchasing 2 Sony Viao laptops (daughter has one also) I shall steer clear in the future.
                      Sony Sucks...I bought Sony E-series laptop only one month back... they said to make recovery disk but whenever i try i fails at exactly 23% saying unable to write DVD... my 4 DVDs are already wasted. i don't think there is any problem with DVD(which are sony product again) because every time it fails at 23%.

                      i can't make partitions before creating a recovery disk.

                      why Sony doesn't give OS and Driver CDs like dell, i have no idea.
                      and then there is no service support.

                      I have got Sony Vaio VGN-CS3AGH hardly 10 months old which i recently upgraded to Windows & from Vista. Now i am having issues with my screen flickering when i boot my system or start it from sleep. I contacted the Microsoft product support team and they informed that its not the Windows 7 issue but the drivers are not compatible with Windows 7. When checked on the website i didnt found any compatibel driver for my model. I dropped an email to Sony customer support and they replied that compatible Windows 7 is not availabe, since they have not tested Windows & for my model and they are not sure about the timelines for compatible driver availabiliy which is rubbish.

                      On the website they promote "Sony Recommends Windows 7". Also my model figures in the list of eligible models for upgrade, then why these people dont have compatible drivers till now. The after sales service is very poort. The customer service numbers are invalid. Its a pain of owing a Sony Vaio Laptop. I will advise people not to buy Sony Vaio. Extremely poor after sales service.

                      I bought the laptop from UK and when it is fully charged and turned on its working properly. But when the charging is over when I tried charging it for the first it has shown the charging status (blinking light) in charging adaptor but in couple of minuts it is stopped and it is not working now. If I take to the servicing centre (sony vaio) in India will they get it serviced free of cost as I am having warranty.. or they will charge any service charge or something...
                      Sony service is most disgusting service I ever got. I gave my handycam 2 months back and everytime I call them for status. These people at lajpat nagar center are most pathetic I ever met. So lousy. I hate to go there to see there dirty faces but they don't change.

                        I bought a Sony Ericsson w580i Mobile phone on 08/12/07. Just after one week the set was dead....
                        Immediately I went to the sony ericsson service centre (Shyam Electronics) on 15/12/07.

                        They said that the PCB was out and they told that it would be replaced as soon as they get it from sony ericsson company.

                        After one week also they say the same thing that They did not get the spare yet from the company.

                        To enquire this I called Sony Ericsson Customer Care, Chennai on 22/12/07 by 10.00 am. There one lady name THANUSHREE took the phone. She did not respond properly ....

                        When I again called her she cut the phone. I thought may be technical problem and tried from another phone. Immediately she only took. As soon as i said my name she again cut.

                        Is this the way Sony ericsson providing customer service? Really very much unsatified with the service.

                        sony ericsson/ W580i — UNSATISFACTORY PERFORMANCE

                        Dear Sir/Madam,
                        it is brought to your kind notice that i purchased a sony erricson mobile somewhere in Nov. 2007 and ever since its date of purchase it is not performing upto the mark. The keypad has broken twice and also the keys on the upper pannel are not in very good condition. the charging point is not responding properly. This time I had to wait for 2 months to get the replacement for the damaged keypad.
                        I am not satisfied with the performance of the handset and want a replacement as it had some maufacturing defects and my phone is within the warranty period. After all this is not the kind of product that i expected while purchasing it under the brand name of " SONY ". waiting for a positive reply.

                        i have given this w580i set before 14 days and still didnt recieve the set yet now. this is a bad service and this will make acustomer to fear for buying the product.

                        Sony Ericsson Mobile Phone — poor product sales

                        Dear Sir,
                        I am a customer of Sony Ericsson Mobile phone and purchased model W 580 I in 11, 200 INR from Hot Spot store in Dec 2007.

                        First of all would like to know that I am a limited user of mobile phone and do not use too excessive in my daily routine.

                        1- Within a short span of my use, I have encountered several flaws in this handset for example. Getting Hanged, not picking up call, not getting charged properly etc. I did not complained as despite these issues, I was able to get my work done through this handset.


                        2- Suddenly one fine day, while working in the office, I noticed, this set has lost its display. I went to Sony Ericsson Service center GNH Telecom Noida and they identified as Liquid Damage.

                        3- Although I was not convinced (but since I am not mobile technician), I agreed and handed over to them for repair on 09/08/08. They have asked me to wait for a week and confirmed to call within a week for delivery. I kept on waiting and then called on 19/8 and received a response that I will receive call in 10-15 minutes with the status. Unfortunately, I did not received any call and I kept on trying but no one picked up the phone OR bother call and update me with the phone status.

                        4- Again I tried almost almost an hour today to get the status and after a VERY GOOD LUCK, I get through the line and online I received a very HARD, PATHETIC AND UNPROFESSIONAL response. “IT HAS NOT YET CORRECTED. WE DON’T EVEN KNOW WILL IT GET CORRECTED OR NOT. WE WILL CALL YOU IN NEXT 2-3 DAY”.

                        5- I requested them to please get it faster but they sound like a govt. organization and said nothing can be done early.

                        Now as a customer I would like to share with you my opinion about Sony Ericsson as a company for being a future customer.

                        A) I am using mobile phones from almost 8 years but I never faced a complain like liquid damage in any of the handset used in the past. I am that much sincere enough that I will not use mobile in rain or will pour water or any other liquid and still say that no such incidence happened. The other possibility is that sweat has pass through while using. But if this is the case then I am absolutely feeling sorry to myself buying Sony Ericsson mobile phone.

                        B) Facing all above issues regarding hand set performance and treatment after sales, I believe Sony does not have any responsibility for their customer and they are only concerned of selling the product at first time.

                        I have sent thsi request to Sony Ericsson customer care 2 times but they did not even bothered to reply as checking with me as why i am upset or what the actual problem i am facing.

                        Kindly check with them on my behalf and atleast make them aware that they have certain responsibility towards customer and they must listen and resolve the issue when customer are in trouble. Appreciate all your help in this regard.

                        I have bought sonyericsson w580i(imei no:[protected] on 18/09/2008 from J.M.Electronics, guwahati, assam. At first the cell phone was overheated within a short time. The problem started the very next day of purchase. So i have consulted the problem with the service centre(assam, guwahati, opposite city mart) on 19/10/2008. I went to service centre late beause i was out of station. On the very day, they simply changed the battery and asked to use the cell for a time being. But it didn't solved the problem. Again on 21st i went there. Now they are commenting that the circuit board has to be changed. But they can't replace the cell instead they will relpace the circiut board. I did'nt knew that replacement can be done within 3 days of purchase, as no one told me in time of buying. As a result i agreed to do so(dated:21/10/2008). But after delivery, nothing changed and the problem turned worst(delivery date:05/11/2008). As a matter of fact, they said that they will deliver the cell within 10 days and will call me. But nothing such thing happened. Now along with the over heating problem, one new problem got added i.e. now network fluctuates. Overall there is no network on the cell. So i request u people to help me out as soon as possible as i m no millionaire to buy another cell. And also it will be very kind o[censored] i[censored] replace the staff members of your service centre that is located in guwahati, opposite city mart, assam. They behave very rudely with the customers and simply dont have knowledge about mobiles.

So I gave the set for repairs to your official repair center through SRG Business Center.However the set was returned under caption "25-RUR".Code of the service center is 410921 & ASP code is E26 as seen from the job sheet.Following information is seen from this sheet warranty type -in warranty, fault code customer abuse.Various aspects coming under this category are water seepage, broken, burnt.However none of this happened to my hand set.I could remove & insert the sim card at the time of sending the set for repair.But when I received the set after so called repair from service center it became impossible to insert the sim card.The job sheet shows useless information such as start dt.10/11/08 14:03, complete dt.10/11/08 14:20 time taken for repair less than 24 hours.However symptom i.e. can't insert /remove sim card given in this sheet is totally false which be vouched by the owner of SRG Business Center.Action taken shows "sim tray damaged".Thus one can conclude that damage took place during repair only.As aresult of the shoddy work carried out by your official service center my hand set was rendered useless. Now I want compensation for the damage caused either in cash or by way of replacement of the hand-set.

                        it's been just 7 months since i bought my w580i mobile phone from a sony ericsson dealer in trivandrum.inspite of the advice from friends about the fragile keypad of this phone i insisted on buying this phone because of the brand name and it's popularity.
                        within 3 months the keys started to carck but still i was using the phone.and about 7 days back the problem occured.the phone would go off when the headset is connected and it was not getting charged.i approached the sony ericsson service centre at mettukkada, trivandrum and i was assured that i'll recieve it within 5 days to be precise on 6/01/09.i couldn't make myself available at the service centre that day so the next day i.e on 7/1/08 i rang them up and enquired about the phone.they told me there was some complaints with it's board so it will take some more time.that reply was okay for me but when i asked them how long it will take they couldn't tell me a date.the person at the reception told that they cannot tell me the exact date since the new board has to come all the way from chennai and that it is supplied on priority basis and so they cannot specify it.i would like to know if i'll get the phone replaced by a new one since it is in it's warranty period.
                        what is sony's response to the whole episode.

                        I bought Sony ericsson handset (w580i) on 6/3/2008 from Subhiksha Trading Service Ltd on the name of Davender Chauhan.In which i have got the warrantee of 1 year, According to my warrantee if there is any problem in my handset you people are liable to resolve the problem and liable to give me the resolution of my problem as Earliest as possible, but you people are not realising the fact that you people are from service industry & what kind of services you people are providing to your customer, its not up to the mark & also its making a bad brand name to your Company.                         I have some problem in my sony erisson handset and for the same i have visited your service outlet of dwarka branch there i have met Mr Harsh and miss sonia, i have discussed my hand set problem with them after listning every problem they peple have asked for my original bill i gave them on the spot. After that miss sonia has checked warrante period of my handset whether my handset is in warrante or not.She told me that my handset was in warrante then she asked for my handset and she went to talk with mr Harsh & after she came and said that sir Emi no is not cleared on your handset so sorry we are unable to help you then i asked her to let me talk with Mr Harsh for some clarification & after i had word with Mr Harsh regarding the same problem he was not ready to listen anything and start debating about the same i have told him that i have a original bill & box with me you can check my Emi no on both the Documents but that gentle man has no adiquate how to talk & how to handle the Customer quaries, sorry to say but he only knows how to debate & misbehave.The same time i have asked for the customer care number from him & he was not ready to give that also, after that i have find your custome care no from your site.

                        After a day i have contacted your customer care support there is a gentle man called mr Ankur he assist me with his services & i was obliged while talking with him, he is sach a nice person he tried to help me in my problem, he make me to speak with his Manager Mr Kishore & i explained each and every thing to him & he assured me that sir you go and visit our dwarka outlet again and make me speak with Mr Harsh, i did the same as Mr Kishore guided to me i have taken out the time from my busy schdule & visited the outlet again & make him to speak with mr Harsh, after a 15 or 20 minute long discussion Mr Kishore assured me you will get the resolution with in two day.After disconneting the call of Mr Kishore, Mr Harsh came to me & said now you do whatever you want you will not get any resolution to your problem & misbehaved also his behavior was very rude to me & he was not accepting the mobile phone. With due respect to Mr kishore i again called him & told each and everything to him he was shocked to know this then he called up directly to Mr harsh & they people had talk i was not aware about what discussion they people were having. After 10 min Mr Kishore called me and said sir mother boad of you Mobile phone is dead thats what Mr Harsh told to Mr kishore Without taking my handset in his hand how come he got to know that my mother boad is not working i m really shocked that Sony Erisson has hired Astrologer on his rolls. After all the things happened Mr kishore has again assure me the sir give me 7 days time your problem will be resolved, with due respect to Mr kishore but sorry to say they all were making me fool & doing all scrap with me After i have realize i have wasted my time as well as i got to know the image of the Big Brand Company.

                        The screen of my son's 580i developed a crack on 27th Jan.2009. We contacted the only service centre i.e. S.C.O. 327/ IInd floor, Sector 40 D, Chandigarh on the next day, they told me it'll require a replacement. even within warranty period we'll have to spend Rs.1300.(though it is much cheaper in the market but we cannot repair it from the market as that'll make the warrany void). We agreed and they asked to come next week as the spare is not available. Then the harassment started. We made 7-8 rounds and made many calls to the service centre and were asked to come after few days every time. After few rounds I met the chief of the centre Mr. Vikram (Phone No. [protected]), who repeated the same sugar coated assurances but refused to give anything in writing. I don't even have any material proof regarding the duration of this harassment. Today is 6th March and I am still not being able to make any headway after 7 weeks. They don't have a system to lodge a formal complaint with a date on it, hence we can't produce any proof for how long we are suffering. If meanwhile the warranty period expires God only knows what game they'll start.
                        We are in agony, please help.

I diwas srivastava bought w580i model just 1 and 1/2 years back. early in this year problem started with it's upper keypad, so i gave it to nearest sony ericsson authorized service center M.J. interprises, gorakhpur.

                        Dear all,
                        i purchased sony ericson handset in jan09. it generated keypad fault and i delivered it in service center in Dec.09. Later when i went to receive the set, i found that at co's factory, the set generated slider fault. The person their suggested me to send the set again to co. factory. After that i continuously, back to back, many times delivered the set for repair of problem which was created by the co but to no avail.
                        After sending notices and running from pillar to post, the company at last agreed to replace me the set. Now the problem is its warranty has got over in Jan10 when my set is pending delivery.
                        I asked the co. to give me warranty on the replaced set of one yr. but the company denying that it can give warranty of only 1.5 months (during which the set remained with co. for repair).
                        Whether I m not lawful in demanding warranty on the new set because suppouse, the new set generates fault just after a month of its delivery, and i will remain helpless not to get it covered under warranty and co. has the scope of giving me low quality set as it would not cover under warranty any more. !!!!!!

                        Sony Ericsson Mobile Phone — Extremely Poor Customer Support

                        Hello,

                        I had a T700 Sony Erricson handset that was troubling me with frequent call drops. I had given it for problem fixing earlier wherein the service center just upgraded the software. This didn't resolve the problem. So, I had to give it back to the same Service Center (Ccom Services, Eternity mall, Thane (west)) on 12th Feb. Then in the first week of march i was told that your handset's mother board is having a problem and so we are giving you a different handset. The handset they offered was an old handset and carried no warranty. So, if something were to happen with this handset then there was no way I could go back and get it repaired. I didn't accept this and requested the service center that either they fix my original handset OR give me a new phone with warranty. After this there was absolutely no communication from the service center and everytime I call them up now they update me that your handset is in transit. This is definitely not the kind of service and support that I expected from a brand such as Sony.

                        I have still not received my phone and hence wanted to bring it to the notice of the consumer forum.

                        W580 — Useless Service

                        I had bought a new handset W580 on 20th February 2010. Its around 10 months the mobile is still having lot of complaints. I had given the handset to your authorized service center, where they had provided world most worst service. I haven't faced such kind of service from any of the other service centers.
                        Even after the last service am facing issues in mobile.. Mobile is not getting charged even charging. I tried replacing with the new battery, which cause the new one to be failed.

                        Could anyone from your frm can provide a solution for this.. Now its around 11 months i haven't properly used this handset...

                          We bought a mobile phone Sony Ericsson model Z550i from Vodafone shop in Australia complete with prepaid sim card, and it worked well in the country. But when we travelled to Indonesia and Malaysia, we tried to purchase/replace sim card there but Z550i did not accept it. Luckily we had another mobile phone (also purchased in Australia), an old Panasonic, that accepted sim cards from Indonesia and Malaysia! Complaint to Sony Ericsson in Australia had NO response. My advice is DO NOT buy Sony Ericsson Z550i (or other models, check it first) when you intend to travel outside the country!

                          I have lost my mobile and having currency nearly 45/-Rs, please block my sim and help me to retain my amount so others cannot misuse my currency.
                          My mobile dropped down from my husband's pocket on 15/03/2008. When I contacted the cybercrime, they told to give a complaint to the Local Police Station where I missed my mobile, so I did the same. But Now Cybercrime is saying that they will not follow up for the missing mobiles, and the Police Station will take care of the same. The IMEI no is [protected].                             I got an Sony Ericsson mobile model W580i on 8th Sep 2007. Not even a month was completed the keypad started cracking. I went to the service centre and they replaced me the keypad since it was under warranty. Again after one and a half month the key pad again cracked. Now i have given my mobile in the service centre and now they r charging me for the replacement of keypad which they replaced one month back under warranty.They say that we mailed to sony ericsson and they said the key pad dosen't cover under warranty.? How funny is this., one month back they replaced, the same keys now they said sony ericsson is charging. i dont know whats going on. Is this the way sony ericsson treats its customer.? And the keypad cracking is very frequent , what if the keypad cracks after my warranty period.? I never expected a very reputed sony ericsson's product to be like this. I didnt got in any local shop or something. i got it in your authorized dealer shop Univercell. Why is this happening.? kindly give me a solution as soon as possible.

                            Sony Ericsson W580i — Keypad Cracked

                            I own a W 580i handset which i bought in Oct 2007. After a months use both my keypads the numeric as well as the front pannel keypad had faults appearing in them.After which ,I contacted SE customer care who told me to contact the service centre.On !0 Jan 2008 my conplaint was finally lodged and was promised that , I would get a new keypad within a week . Its 26 of FEb 2008 till date none of the keypads have arrived and on asking the helpline people am give the same answer that we are working on it . And currently i have the handset without either of the keypads as the keypads have been sent to chennai. Neither was i given a replacement handset nor have the keypads come. And as i went through the comments made by others above i refused to leave my handset with SE people as i have no faith left in SE anymore. The amount of time and money on the call SE has just gone down the drain .I could really use some guidance to what other options can i consider as if the attitude of SE continues one day SE will tell me that the keypad has come but your warranty has expired .

                            I purchased thsi mobile in June 2008 and in two months time the keypads started to crack one by one. I went to the Lajpat Ngr service centre where they said the keypad will be replaced by the company while the mobile is in teh warranty period, however, the did not have the keypad available in that centre. They asked me to check with them a week later. Ever since then I have been to that centre for about 8 times in the last 9 months but they still do not have it and they still say it will come in a week's time. My waranty for the phone would be over next month and I do not want to pay them for the keypad incase I get a new one at all. Very very poor service.
                            well you see i have the same problem, my keypads are broken and i am addict to smsing, so its has been very difficult, but unlike you i havnt tried calling SE yet, ill have to at least rty, but i totally agree and have heard from people about their horrid attitude, after all that phone is not cheap and they shud have more manners<, , , , , , , , , , , ,
                            I am extremely disappointed with the Sony Ericsson W580i. I got one for my christmas and now 9 months later it does not slide properly if at all and my number 8 does not work, which is a big problem because its one of the main numbers in my pin. I have always liked Sony Ericsson phones but i am now alway experiencing problems with them.

                              I purchased a SONY VIAO laptop from USA. It was not even a year that the DVD HARDWARE got failed. When I asked a the authorised service center what's the cause of the problem I was told 1) Its an electronic product, nothing can be done. There is no reason to it (Vineeta Tyagi) 2) It can be because of more/less usage, running of scratches & pirated CD/DVD etc. (Vineeta Tyagi) The first point of them, I would like to ask then what's the difference between a SONY quality product and a CHINESE product. The second point of them, I would like to ask is the causes mentioned would make the lense weak and not the hardware would fail. All the non sense information is been provided. On asking a engineer why are you asking for Rs. 17, 742/- he was not able to explain, just a "rata answer" "dena parega otherwise nahe thikh ho sakta" Would also like to ask "this is why SONY ask for around 50% more for its product compairing to other companies. To give this quality and service. I just paid Rs. 1950/- to SONY for my sony car audio system which got failed with in a year again with NONSENSE replies "sir electronic hai, kuch bhi ho sakta hai"
                              sony porducts are getting worst day by day. And after sales support is a nightmare.
                              They charges heavily for brand and immediately as warranty over, product will give some problem and service people will charge too much.

                              Not recommending to buy Sony Music Systems at least.
                              SONY DVD RW, DVD/CD ROM, it works for 6 - 7 months correctly with no issues, maximum of 10 months, then is stats the problems. I have got writing problems, i always use sony disks to write Datas. When we go the dealer shops to ask about the services of sony, they will say sony servicing are too bad, if you got the problem within the warrenty period then they will look. Otherwise they wont!!! My SONY DVD RW, DVD/CD ROM is only 18 months old. Now onwards i suggest to every one, not to buy SONY DVD RW, DVD/CD ROM. They only got a good brand names, the other things are really bad. Buy some other burnner. If you ask to the dealers also, they will say Sony DVD RW, DVD/CD ROM is good, but buy other other DVD RW, DVD/CD ROM thats good for you. What is this means?

                                Hi,
                                I bought Sony cybershot DSC-H1 one and a half years back from US. It served me well until a recent trip, where it developed a de-focussing problem so all I could see was very blurred pictures. I took it to the Sony Service Center in Bangalore (Indiranagar) and they told me that they would have to change the entire lens structure and it would cost me 18000 INR which is very ironic because my camera cost me 14000 INR to begin with. I asked them to explain the issue with the camera and I got an unintelligible response - "There has been a lens contamination due to moisture. The lens has developed fungus and we will have to change the lens". I do not know whether the support staff was defining his intelligence level or mine with that response but that's about the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard in my life. I, then, took the camera to another repair center which happens to be authorized service center for canon and they told me that the problem is with the motor and would cost 3200 INR to repair.
                                I have heard similar stories from my other friends who were advised by Sony service centers to go for costly replacements when their equipment, infact, worked perfectly fine despite not going for them.
                                I do not know if my camera will be repaired but my trust in Sony seems to be damaged beyond repair.

                                    I had given Sony music system MHC VX777 for repair in Navi Mumbai authorised Sony service centre. The problem was the CD tary was stuck with the CDs inside and FM not working. The service centre is ill equiped without power back on power outage. The service centre informed me they would not mention about the 3 CDs stuck in the system on the service request form as they could not verify the same in the absence of power.
                                    Later I was surprised, when the service centre claimed ignorance of the CDs in the system and more surprised as they changed the CD lens instead and did not attend the FM problem.
                                    Now the service centre is refusing to handover the system to me and forcing me to pay for the repairs I had not requested and is also not returning the CDs. I had even requested the centre to put back the old CD lens which they are not agreeing.
                                    This is totally unacceptable from an MNC like Sony. The official complaint logged on the company website has also not yet been responded.

                                    SONY READER.
                                    I spent the evening lying in bed reading the Sony Reader, and using the left corner Page turner to turn the pages with my thumb. After a half hours reading, I switched off the Reader, and placed it on the mantle next to the bed. The next morning, the Reader would not function. Sony declares that I damaged the screen. The only way I could have done that was by turning 40 odd pages with my thumb. If so, the there must be a flaw with the Reader which Sony refuses to acknowledge.

                                        I purchased the above handset from Mobile King, Penta Menaka, Marine Drive, Kochi-682031 on 01.03.2008.

                                        The set became completely out of service on 29.04.2008 and I was directed by the dealer to contact the service centre. Accordingly I gave my handset to Messrs. Accel Frontline Limited, Opp. Veekshanam Press.

                                        The set was delivered back to me on 23.05.2008 saying that the board has been replaced and asked me to check up. Since I did not have my sim card with me, I tried to check the handset in the evening at home. The set is having the problem of becoming off and on, which was the original complaint.

                                        When I contacted the supplier, he informed that he cannot exchange with another set. In the meanwhile, I will be contacting your service centre once again. In case I fail to get a brand new set as free replacement, I will be forced to take suitable remedial actions. This is for your advance information.

                                        Dear Sir/Madam,

                                        I have purchased the new YARI mobile on 30th September 2010 and IMEI no.[protected] with the bill. After 15 days my set has been switched off and never started and I have contacted the retailer and he has provided the new YARI model after 25 days.
                                        I have received the new YARI model IMEI no.[protected] on 5th November 2010 and on 23rd january 2011 my mobile again switched off and never started.

                                        I have contacted Customer Care to take followup to the higher level but nobody escalated my call and until now I have not received any call from sony ericson company

                                        Kindly do the needful in priority basis as within 4 months my 2 YARI set has created problem for me and it has a bad experience for me to the Sony ericsson company.
