After this we received a letter from Standard Chartered Bank accepting our Full...

This is to draw the kind attention of authorities towards my request of home loan transfer from the person who is a defaulter of your bank. I Syed Iftequar Ahmed had applied on 15th December 2008 for transfer of loan from Asra Banu (Loan No. [protected], August 2005) and top up loan number 44717423 as she is a defaulter before signing an agreement with her, I discussed it with Standard Chartered Bank Team Manager Mr. Avinash and Field Manager Mr. Suresh, they both had assured me that the loan will be transferred within 15 working days. Although I submitted all my documents such as IT of 3 years, Bank Statement of myself and my wife, Business proof (I and my wife own different business), address proof, ID proof to the bank on 27th December 2008. I also met Mr. parthasarthy, Head of the Recovery Department who also assured me that the loan will be transferred shortly.

I met the Bank Manager Mr. Krishna Mohan and Assistant Manager Mritunja, they both gave me a positive answer after going through my documents and said the loan can be transfered by 5th of January 2009. From 5th January I have been closely following up with the above persons each one is asking me to contact the other person. I am really surprised why the bank is not transferring the loan from a defaluter's account to the most eligible candidate. I have already paid 3 lakh cash in advance for the purchase of her property and as the time is running short as per the agreement I cannot approach any other bank for the loan. Whenever I am approaching the bank officials they are saying the loan will be disbursed soon. I have a very good record with all the banks I am dealing with and I have produced all the statements of those accounts. From Citi Bank I have an 18months vehicle loan track record which never showed any late payments. After verifying all the documents the bank officials had proposed me to shift into that house for which I agreed too. Now I am regretfully approaching your forum to seek assistance in getting my home loan transfer approval. I hope through your cooperation I can get my request processed at the earliest. I shall be highly grateful for your kind assistance in this regard.

Originally, Standard Chartered Bank offered interest free credit on purchase of the membership of Country Club (India) Ltd. Since I took the membership, I have been promnptly repaying the monthly instalments to Standard Chartered Bank.

Last week, Standard Chartered Bank informed of a substantial reduction of my credit limit. By doing this, the interest free credit offered to me for purchase of the CCIL membership, falls outside the credit limit and hence will attract a penalty for over spending.

I wrote to the Bank asking them to explain the arbitrary manner in which they have withdrawn the credit limit, when they had specifically offered me interest free credit for purchase of the membership fo CCIL. They have sent me a standard reply that this is based on the review of the credit limit and in case I do not want to pay any penalty of over spending on my credit limit, I have to pay the balance immediately.

Standard Chartered Bank is simply cheating its customers by first offering interest free credit limit and then withdrawing it without any information. I am sure there will be many more like me who have been meted out such treatment by Standard Chartered Bank. I am an employee of a private firm with a salary of over Rs. 25, 00, 000. I have never defaulted on my card payments.

I expect the Consumer Complaint forum to warn the Standard Chartered Bank against such dubious practices and help me in getting my credit limit restored for the balance amount of the interest free credit.

On the 2nd Feb, 2009, I swiped my Standard Chartered bank debit card(Salary a/c) from ICICI Bank ATM .Though the transaction declined 3 times and the amount has been deducted from my account. Than I went to Standard Chartered Bank ATM than I came to know that I lost my 3000 Rs. than nothing was showing properly in Mini statement and Internet banking transaction record record.When contacted the customer care executive they said nothing to worry it would be reversed back with in 15 working days and saying that it is ICICI banks fault not our.This time they wanted me to fill the dispute form which suppose to come today but yet not received.Than I got call from Ms. Madhu from Mumbai now she is saying that we can not commit anything than when you will get amount back It can take 60 days or more than that and you have to send me a written complain latter hard copy but still not committing when I can get my money back.

This was very surprising and an eye opener to the kind of service that is being offered.If a person is holding a banks amount than it should be the responsibility the Bank to return money within 15 days.

I have spent my money and time calling them from date but i have had no proper response.

Can some one help me in getting back the money and also advise how this process works.

I had been using credit card of SCB from 1996 TO 2006, and never made any part payments and being a privileged customer of theirs almost for Decade.Due a small rift with the bank I had a due of 1589/- in the year 2006, and that was clarifed with the bank people thru customer care.And now I had applied for a Car Loan and they had recieved a report from CIBIL stating that a amount of 11514/- is written off.

And I had discussed with the Bank people and they are adamant and asking me PAY to the total amount for removing the name from the list and give clearance letter.This has totally damaged my prestige and very much embarssing for me.

At present I ma holder of Two credit cards from ICICI and HDFC Platinum cards.So I would kindly request you to take the matter seriously and clear the issue at the minimal level.

I went to ICICI Bank to swipe my Standard Chartered salary account.I put some amount n than it was declined.I did the same 2 more times and again transactions was declined.Than after 15 min. I went Standard Chartered own ATM & than I came to know that they have deducted 3000 rupee.I was not aware that from where they have deducted but later on through customer care executive I got to know that this deduction was from ICICI bank.I have transaction sleeps of ICICI bank.I have already complained to Standard Chartered.But no feedback after that.

I have a salary account in Standard Chartered Bank. They have given a facility o[censored]sing any ATM machine. I tried to withdraw cash Rs. 6100 from ICICI bank ATM. I got a system error and did not get any money. However my account was debited with Rs. 6100.

I have logged a complaint in Standard Chartered Bank they have given me a compliant no : SDP/IL/0209/1 and told me it will take 2 months for the reversal.

I am a salaried person and cannot wait for so long; when there is no fault at my end.

Standard Chartered Bank official fraudulently sold me policies that supposedly protect me from Credit Card Loss/Wallet Protection etc. I am told that particular officer was fired because of complaints from other customers about misrepresentations too. However, in spite of repeated attempts from Aug 29, 2008 onwards, I am unable to get the policies canceled and stop the recurring charges. TATA AIG says that Standard Chartered Bank sold the policies so they have to initiate the cancellation. On six different occasions different bank officers have taken my request and have promised to forward the request to the concerned department. However, I can't get connected to the 'concerned department' or get the policies along with the associated EMI's canceled.

This is to bring to your notice that the standard chartered bank is wrongly showing dues in my name for a secondary card which I never received.

I only received the primary card. Further I would like to bring to your notice that when I received the primary card I was not intimated that I will be receiving a secondary card also. If they would have done so I would have brought to the bank’s notice that I have not received the secondary card.

I am using this Credit card for the last four years but from last one year i have stopped usiing this card for oustanding balance which is pilling every month with late charges, interest, etc..for the amount outstanding which is not my actual usage or purchase amount but are unnecessarily levied to my account for which i have informed them through Customer care and in writing also to their Grevience Cell, Head customer care([protected]) several times.
On 05/08/08, To resolve the matter i talked to Mr. Anil Yadav[protected] and he guided the way out for reversal of these charges @Rs1700 per month every month by depositing Rs.500 in cash which was done on 06/08/08 and accordingly in the next statement some charges were reversed but again from next month the same oustanding amount was attracting late chares and inteestand there was no rev ersal as promised for which i again reported to Grievance Cell Head custome Care and requested mr. Anil Dey on 27/12/08 to kindly resolve the matter by all means even by paying some amount to end the matter and he promised to get it done within weeks time but in vain.
I am really fed up with all this and request your kind intervention to resolve the matter and provide justice.

I am one of numerous customers who have taken a home loan from Standard Chartered Bank at a "Floating interest rate" more than 3 years back. Needless to say that due a declining economy and global slowdown, the interest rate has increased considerably in the past 2 years. I started at almost 10% but as of now I am sitting at 13.5+ %.

Whenever there has been an increase in rate from RBI in the past, Stan. Chart. has been prompt to immediately increase my floating rate immediately, sometimes within a span of 15 days from the time RBI increased it. Also, for the first time that RBI increased the rate, stan chart was considerate enough to increase the tenure of the loan as against increasing the monthly amount. But that was just the first time, after that they have been continuously increasing my monthly amount based on the change in interest rate. SO much so that I am now paying almost 35% more amount in my monthly installment than I was paying 3 years back.

I was still ok with all this since it was the market trend. But the shocking part is that they have not reduced a interest rate at all since the RBI reduced it's rate. In the past couple of months, RBI has reduced it's rate more than 3 times but Stan. Chart has not made any changes to their floating interest rates. They continue to charge the same high interest rate.

This is cheating. When I sign up for a floating interest rate, I sign up to move my interest rate up when market is going up and getting it down when the market trends that way. With Stan Chart it's a one way street, they only increase but never decrease. While all the other banks including ICICI and HDFC have reduced their floating rate in the past few month, Stan CHart continues to be elusive. This is completely against the rules of Floating Interest rate that I signed up for.

I am almost on the verge of filing a case in consumer court for the malpractice of Stan chart.

I took a housing loan from Standard Chartered Bank for 15 years in 2003 starting with a low floating [protected]@6.5% and now it has peaked to 14%.They are not reducing rates eventhough all other banks have reduced rates recently. I would like to know is there any cap on maximum interest rate and what control RBI has on this bank.

Please help me.

My credit card got stolen and the next day, I called the bank to block my card. the card was promptly blocked but a transaction already took place. I disputed the transaction and raised a complaint. The investigation was initiated for I had submitted a form. After couple of months, I got a letter from the bank attaching the charge slip of the disputed transaction. Immediately I called up the bank to inform that the signature on the transaction slip was not mine and was of some Mr. Kumar. The bank did nothing but closed the complaint, saying that a letter along with the charge slip was given to the customer and hence the complaint was closed. The bank did not even bother to verify the signature on the transaction slip before closing the complaint.
I called up the bank again a few day back to confirm if the card was closed and to my utter surprise, I found that my name has been added to the defaulters list.
Having experienced such unprofessional service, I have decided that I shall never in my life time have any relationship with Standard Chartered Bank. My card number ends 6954.

I am a customer of Standard Chartered Bank Credit Card Since last 10 years. I was offered a upgrade facility to Manhattan card in Nov 2008, which I opted by aggring one time payment. Based on my past transactions in past, I had about 4600+ reward points which was asked to redeem within 35 days. Which I tried on number of occasion. Whenever I used to call Standard Chartered Bank Help line, I was diverted to Manhattan help line and on Manhattan help line, I was told that points are earned on SCB hence I need to contact SCB. Once, Manhattan accepted the request to adjust reward points against my monthly outstanding which subsequently denied. In this process, we lost 35 days and now I was told by Manhattan that my points are lapsed. I have not paid upgrade fees and my due date is 18th Jan. I have already sent the mails to SCB and Manhattan that I will not pay any upgrade fees unless my issue is resolved. I have already send couple of mails but there is no response from their side. I am willing to cancel the card as I can not follow with them again and again. It is like begging by a their top most available card holder. What should I do?

i have a serious complaint for Mahattan credit card payment .please help me with this ASAP .

I am holding MANHATTAN CREDIT CARD, i made a payment of some 26000 from this card .
for the amount i have taken 6 months EMI payment agreement from standard chartered bank .
I always got call regarding payments from collection department of the same bank .

As per the monthly installment agreement bank agreed me to pay Rs. 25974 through six months
installment of 4329 per months.

I always got call from collection dept. to pay me the amount and i paid them the same amount also
but after 1-2 months i used to get calls from collection department but instead of asking me to pay the amount
mentioned as per the agreement they asked me to pay 2000 when i asked why less they told me this is minimum amount you have to pay me
for this month and soon after they always asked for less amount or more amount that too twice in one month also .

i thought something is wrong so i called customer care to check if my payment is reflecting or not ?
customer care told me that your amount has been received by bank but when i asked why i get bills mentioning more amount they told me
you clear as per agreement later it will reflect correct amount .



Now after around one year i have already cleared mentioned amount of 25974 still i am getting call from collection department that your payment is still
left .
And best part is amount of 39000 is still pending .
I have been mentally tortured by collection department calls as they used to call me some 20-30 times in a day daily without fail
and out of so many calls 80% times noone speaks .
last to last month i got call from same department one of them assured me to make some min. payment and your account will be settled
and he gave me one account closing number also . but still its not closed and they make fool every month to get the payment
now what they ask me is to clear payment else my case will be sent to civil .
being a normal serviceman and citizen i dont want to get invlove in all such things so i paid some amount as being asked by the collection dept.
i have already paid some[protected] extra now

After paying extra amount i am still getting the calls
I called customer care they told me to mail all the receipts of the payment along with the EMI settlement letter
i scanned and mailed it to the id head.[protected]@standardchartered.com
i got a reply from some concerned person that you have not made the payment as per the agreement on time so you have to pay full amount
for more inquires i can contact to some concerned person . on calling to that concerned person i been told that they are not responsible for my case .
noone is ready to talk and hear me .


now i am so fed up with total bank responses and daily unlimited calls from collection department of the bank that i have no option left other then
complaining here .
My main concern is that i have not cheated with the bank also i am ready for settling my account but noone is ready to listen to me
and instead of making payment more than the required amount i am still getting bills for the payment of 39000.

Could you please suggest me what should i do ?
Please i need some help ASAP .

This has reference to the various communications i sent to Standard Chartered Bank regarding the High Interest Rate being charged by them - 14%. I communicated to them since I have taken loan ( Jan 2005) the interest rate for me has been increasing and now i am being charged at 14% which is too high and no other bank probably is charging that high. Inspite of my various efforts they are not ready to listen.

I was an employee of standard chartered bank from Nov 2005 to May 2008, i have put a resignation letter on 3rd june 2008, but my manager, did not approve the resignation, instead he abused me and said i cant resign immediately because as per the offer letter i was supposed to give one month notice or one month salary, I said i will give one month salary for which he refused..since i have been harassed by the same manager at my service i thought of quitting the company and on 5 th june i sent my resignation letter through mail and i joined the other company on 6th june 2008..
I didnt get releiving letters also i didnt get PF account number, the manager told that he wont give me the PF account number and releiving letter..

Please help me ..

We have home loan from standard charted, where interest rate is high all the time compare to other bank. inspite interest have reduced in all the banks, standard charted has increased the interest to 12.49% in dec 2008, requesting bank to show the proof on what basis they are increasing the rate. They have the standard answer, they feel constomer doesnt have any right to question, need to blindly pay what they are charging us. Is there any way we can inform the concern department so that they can take the necessary action.
