[Resolved] Tata Sky — SAAM MARATHI not available
Sir, I am TATA SKY user from last 2 yrs. TATA SKY DTH is not displaying Free To Air Channel SAAM MARATHI (channel by sakal Group) When contacted to TATA SKY, I heard that this channel is not being viewed by many and thus not added to any of the package. This channel is available on all leading DTH operators. Failed to understand why TATA SKY is not showing this channel. No proper justification by company. Regards, Shailesh Was this information helpful?

Being a valued customer of Tata Sky you should know the effort of Tata Sky in bringing in as many regional channel of mass appeal. FTA channels do not come as a separate pack and a minimum subscription for any of the Base pack is required to keep the account active. Tata Sky has introduced a lot of new channels including Marathi channels that have high mass appeal. Zee Talkies, 24 Taas, 24 Ghante are lately added Marathi channels it looks at a diverse audience with its limited capacity (transponder space)which makes the provider to select the most viewed regional channels that can benefit a large number and that have many viewers to that channel. Transponder space capacity is a shortcoming for all the dth providers and not only Tata Sky and hence no DTH provider can provide each and every channel telecast and bear cost for less popular channels. From a business prospective also looking at consumer needs Tata sky strives to add as many channels of importance which are important to individual viewers too. In comparison if you see there were almost no or only one channel for Gujarati viewers but in an effort to their benefit too Tata Sky added TV9 Gujarati. So channels are being added which best suit the audience.

What tatasky people told him is that its not very popular. this is tatasky and other dth providers have limited bandwidth but they have to cater to audience across india. So they cant have all channels of all regional languages. It looks like saam is a marathi channel. Tatasky does have popular marathi channels as well as tamil, telugu channels too. I don't think any dth provides all channels of all languages.
ALL MARATHI VIEWERS HAVE TO BRING THIS FACT TO THE AUTHORITIES OF MANASE/ SHIVSENA SOTHAT MANAGEMENT OF TATA-SKY WILL TAKE NECESSARY STEPS TO LAUNCH SAAM TV
