[Resolved]  Times Of India Newspaper — Delay in receiving paper everyday

I am regular avid reader of TOI daily. In the last 3 months or so the paper distributor in our area(Marol Military Road) has been delivering the newspapers between 7-9am stating reasons of delayed receipt of newspaper from TOI itself. Today(28-Mar) it was delivered at 8.30am. Today's delay is deu to delay in receiving from TOI. I am told that they received from TOI only at 7AM. I am one such person that if I do not have the fresh paper on hand by 6am then my day does not start. This delays further all my activities of the day. I its quite unbelievable and I fail to understand why TOI is delaying the distribution of the paper in first instance. Further the newspaper vendors have their own methods of distributing from the central channel to the local distributors. Our area distributor and the central distributor have formed a cartel that no one else can distribute the paper in their area except themselves due to which consumers like us have to live with whatever delivery speed we get from such local distributors. When we ask why such delays are happening they further argue with us that TOI has delayed the distribution and we have no control over this delay and hence delay in our distribution. This will bring a bad image to TOI just because of bad distribution channel and ultimately loosing credibility and market share due to wrongful doing by the distributors. I think TOI should look at creating a fair competition amongst the distributors so that customers have a choice depending on the quality of the performance of the distributors. TOI should check and get feedback from their customers on regular basis and evaluate the performance of their distribution channel to keep a check on them. I would expect some stricter action and penalty to be imposed by TOI on such distributors who violate the quality norms thus ensuring the customers satisfaction. Hope TOI will see this complaint in the right earnest and take corrective action on this without any further delays.
