[Resolved]  Vodafone — Rejected MNP to Docomo saying number or range is in contractual obligation

Address:Chennai, Tamil Nadu

Hi,

I requested MNP from my vodafone prepaid to Tata Docomo on 25-01-11 and got unique porting number VT129333. Today I got an update from Vodafone that my request dated 27 Jan 11 is rejected due to number or range is in contractual obligation. I have a prepaid and I dont know what obligation I have. When I called their custome care they where dont know about it and also they were trying to make me stay in vodafone itself. Kindly let me know why my request was rejected

Regards,

Check whether your number is in your name and address by calling vodafone callcenter. Also check your number is not part of any company /organization sponsored cellphone facility.

Clarify whether any dues, even a paisa pending to be paid ( at times even prepaid balance goes negative).

Try once more by sending your MNP request sms to 1900. Wait for the reply.

If you still get the same reply and vodafone is not helping, approach TRAI with a complaint on their website.

hi vasanth I still have 90 rupees in my sim so balance wont be an issue. Also my sim is in my name only and also my address is correct. As per the suggestion by customer care I have raised a complaint in their site as well
I submitted a request for porting my number from Vodafone to Airtel. I have submitted the documents to Airtel and got a confirmation of the request.
On 30th Jan I received an SMS from 1901 and from Vodafone that "THE REQUEST HAS BEEN REJECTED BY DONOR DUE TO THERE ARE SUBSIDING CONTRACTUAL OBLICGATIONS FROM THE SUBSCRIBER AGREEMENT"

I have cleared by current outstanding bill amount on 29th Jan. And I Believe there are no other contractual obligations from my side.

Upon Calling the customer care (111) on Sunday 30th jan, They informed me there is a "CONDITION ISSUE" and it will be resolved within 24hrs.
I got no response.

I again called the customer Care on Monday 31st Jan, I was informed that there is an issue with the servers, and they would be sending an email to resolve the issue and will be done in 24hrs

I called again today (Tuesday 1 Feb), to check the status and I was promised on the same info (resolution within 24hrs) and when I stated that I need more info, I was cold transferred to another support person who informed that the number was approved for porting. I now have no info whether or not my request has been approved nor a confirmation sms from you or from 1901.

Let me know whom should I escalate this further to get the status and to get my porting request approved as the 4 day deadline for approval by the Donor operator has already elapsed yesterday and the 7 Day Deadline to fully complete the porting would expire by Thursday (3rd Feb)
HI,

Still I havent received any response for my query with vodafone customer care. By seeing this forum I believe lot of vodafone customers are having this issue. How do we raise complaint with TRAI. Also is it possible to file a case against vodafone in cunsumer court. I am losing money I paid for the docomo which is solely due to vodofone rejection with out any reason
