I have to complaint against Cox & Kings for their irresponsible behaviour. Delay in acknowledgement of verbal commitments and false commitments on behalf of customers.

Upon frequent follow-ups the only response to queries was we are not updated yet. After 1 month, we are informed that the Head office has offered assistance with charges to be bourned by customer. The intermediate officer of Cox and kings confirms to the charges without our consent / even confirming with us.

    I had booked 9 nights 10 days package for my parents to dubai with cox & kings. 3 nights in hotel hitlon al mina and 6 nights in fortune grand hotel and apartments in bur dubai. Initially, everything was fine on the tour although they have overcharged for the transfers to us. On the day of arrival my father gave his local mobile number to the person who has picked them and person name mr. Sharma in order to communication my parents went very first time on vacations unaware of the conditions and everything. I have explained them well. They were booked for city tour, desert safari and dhow cruise which went well. Everytime cab drive used to call my father and that is how they got picked up from their hotel (Hilton). Later they got a transfer to second hotel fortune grand which turned out to be a nightmare. The room they got was okay but breakfast each day was unbearable and they kept repeating only 3-4 dishes on the menu. The tv remote in room did not work for all 7 days they stayed there despite multiple complaints. The landline phone did not work except the last day after multiple complaints

    The last two tours were dubai mall visit and abu dhabi full day city tour which was the highlight of their tour. Dubai mall visit went fine. The day they were supposed to get abu dhabi tour they were supposed to get their pick up between 8:30 am to 9 am in the morning. They were ready and as landline was not working my father went to hotel reception at 8:15 am and informed them about our pickup for the tour so that they should not miss it. They always got a phone call from drive except for this day and they missed the tour my father called mr. Sharma around 9 am asking about the cab he asked for some time to check and later said it would be there in few mins so my parents started to wait again only to find out that the cab had come to hotel and hotel people called on room landline multiple time (Which was not working and my father informed this to them and left his cell number at reception) no one tried to call them on their cell number and drive did not bother to call his manager and informed same. They missed the tour. And hotel people and cox and kings supplies stared to ask for usd 60 to rearrange the tour. Same day they asked usd 60 and next day also when i got to know the situation being in india saying it will be the private tour and they have compensated already usd 100 for the same tour. And did not provide even after multiple complaints and fault at the end only. I am highly disappointed with the way they behaved and just tried to make money out of this situation.

    I am seeking refund of the abu dhabi city tour which they missed and as well compensation for the mental tension and trauma they created

      Dear sir,

      I col manobendra roy had booked for a tour package for indo china departure date 04/02/2018 with cox and kings from their salt lake branch office at kolkata on 11/10/2017.

      Later after about a week i learned informally from a friend that i have been denied an additional discount of rs 2000/- by the aforesaid salt lake branch office of cox and kings. I then rang up another branch office of cox and kings located at park street, kolkata. On speaking to an sales executive i learned that i indeed was denied an additional discount of rs 2000/- (Which is over and above the printed rs 8000/- discount on offer) by the salt lake branch where i had booked the tour package.

      I then reported to the salt lake branch and told them to grant me the aforesaid additional discount of rs 2000/-. The sales executive simply said that i had not asked for this more any more discount which is an absolute false statement as i had repeatedly asked for more discount and every time i was informed that only rs 8000/- discount which is on offer as printed and nothing more.

      I then submitted my request in the portal of cox and kings website for favourable remedial action. My complaint was acknowlwdged by their customer cell executive mr manish kajana on 09/11/2017 e mail.

      However to my utter disappointment i received a e mail from the aforesaid customer cell executive that my request has been turned down by the management of cox and kings and therefore no additional discount of rs 2000/- will be granted to me.

      Finally i feel aggrieved due to the fact that injustice has been meted out to me inspite of my legitimate request.

      Rs 2000/- is a small amount and a small step up in the fortunes of cox and kings but this said small amount is a giant leap backwards in terms of patronage and good will for cox and kings.

      The aforesaid is for your kind information and action as is deemed necessary at your end.

        Sir
        I am (Manoj antony) writing a review about a holiday which i booked in your travel agency cox and kings, ravipuram branch.
        My wife and myself book a trip to kashmir. The hotels at srinagar was four point by sheraton was fabulous. The driver and the tour operator (Meena group) handled us with great care and respect.
        The hotel stay at pahalgam was horrible no elevators, room was not at all clean, the hotel was not up to the mark and the restaurant also was very bad they didnt have the most of the food items as per their menu. The houseboat at srinagar was ok.
        Secondly our return flight was not properly scheduled. The flight from srinagar was on 2 nd november 14.55 hrs but was delayed by 16 hrs. Our connecting flight from delhi to cochin by air india flight no. A143
        Was at 18.05 hrs on 2 nd november. There
        Was only a difference of 1.5 hrs between the connecting flight, connecting flight was from international terminal airport (Terminal-3) for collecting the luggage from terminal-2 itself will take 1/2 an hour and rush to terminal-3 and the boarding counter will close minimum 45 minutes before flight timing even if the flight was on time it will be so hard to catch the next flight. Unfortunately the flight was delayed for one hour we missed the connecting also.
        Kindly look forward this in future planning.

          I col manobendra roy has booked a package deal for indo china for departure date on 04 feb 20018. My id is 870539. I booked on the said duniya dekho package on 11 october 2017 at salt lake branch kolkata.

          I now regret to state that on around two weeks after when i spoke to an executive at park street branch, i was informed that i'm eligible for another additional rs 2000/- as discount. I immediately went to the salt lake branch where i booked... But to my utter dismay was told a blatant lie that i never asked for any additional discounts.

          This is utterly disappointing... The question is not about the money but about the way the sales executives are making such false statements... Which deplorably is not what is desirable.

          The above is for your information and action as is deemed necessary.

            I for treasures of europe tour we five persons deposited rs 20000/ in cheque as booking amount at cox and kings local office, agartala, tripura.

            Ii for uk visa we went to kolkata by flight and faced interview at u. K. Visa office kolkata on 30.06.2017

            Iii we came back home by flight to agartala and waited for the next call for schengen visa of european countries scheduled for the tour.

            Iv the tour programme was cancelled by the cox and kings and we were offered the american sojourn 10days/9 nights usa tour for 22nd august 2017.

            V after fulfilment of necessary formalities of cox and kings office and payment of expenses of 5 persons for visa and tour cost from kolkata to usa and back to kolkata, we were called for usa visa at us consulate kolkata.

            Vi we five faced interview on 09/08/2017 and 10/08/2017 at the us consulate, kolkata. Four were given visa but my daughter was not granted visa.

            Vii we four took part in the tour programme except my daughter.

            After returning from the tour i as father and guardian of my daughter had written to cox and kings on[protected] to get the refund of the tour cost of the 10 days/9 nights american sojourn cost from kolkata to usa which costed us ₹ 224031 per person, the tour she could not avail due to non issuance o[censored]sa visa. Till date i have not received any cash back from concerned company. This is pure harrasment and unprofessional behaviour they are reflecting.

              Dear sir

              My name is sahil dhingra we had booked services through cox and kings for bali. They literally delayed the package for more than 20 days and every time this company employees used to haress me. We had deposited 90000 rs in the company for flight bookings

              Now after 20 days of repeated harassment we shifted to other company and booked the rest of the package. Now the flight cost which they told me was 78000. They are denying now to refund my 12000 rs

              This company is literally harassing customers not giving proper service and then also deducting money

              Why??

              I have all the proofs on mail

              Kindly help me get my full refund of 12000 back

                Booked tailor made trip in sydney which included hotel, airport pickup and drop and sightseeing at 30000. Now starting date was 24 oct 2017,. When i reached australia, in 26 oct this company write a mail that they are not confirmed with the sight seeing activity, my total primise was to visit the place i was booked for, at last they cancelled, as all the money was payed to them for my journey i could not go ahead, now when i come back and ask for refund they are providing me with 3700 as refund, pl help

                  Sir.
                  Recently i had been to egypt with my family through your egyptian sojourn. I had tried to book through toll free no. And redirected to ahmedabad office. I had encountered problems from booking to the end of tour. Firstly i had received receipt of money paid after multiple calls and sms es. Sales agent manish kothari was difficult to contact and not replying to any questions and queries. Than i didn't get tour progamme till last 3 days of departure. Even i got just 2 bags instead of 3 persons of my family for whom i booked tour.
                  I was told that we had non stop flight to and fro by egypt air. But lately it was changed through kuwait air with a break. As i was travelling from i had to book a hotel at mumbai which incurred additional cost to me as flight time changed 3 hours later.
                  Our tour guide miss cheryl was totaly ignorant and arrogant lady without any knowledge of the tour.
                  Local agency at egypt_ south sinai ttavels was completely rubbish and irresponsible.
                  They changed local flight from 6.25 ro 4.0am for just gew bucks and harrasing all tourist. Food was worst i had ever eaten and at very dirty places. They didn't listen to the complaints. Local agencies main goal was to take us to shops for their commission rather than sightseeing for which we travelled a lot and spent money for.
                  Even during early morning flight we were not given tea or coffee and when complained we were badly insulyed by local agency guide and ms. Cheryl.
                  We were told that it was an all inclusive holiday but even we had to pay for water and many entry tickets.
                  At airport they insisted for conversion to local currency as much as possible and did not inform nus that reverse conversion is not possible. So we are all back with either lot of egyptian currency or stuff from duty free shops.
                  I had been to hong kong tour through you and had wonderful experience. So this time i opted to you inspite of multiple offers by other operators. This has been a horrible experience i had any tour in my life and never in my life i will go with you or suggest anybody.
                  In fact i will highlight my experience in various travel blogs and social media and let people know that how a reputable and big company is cheating tourists.

                    We, three people, had booked a trip to thailand last month through the chennai office and had paid the full amount (Around rs. 150000) for the same. But we had to cancel the trip at the last minute as one of the members got infected with dengue and was admitted to the hospital.
                    Cox and kings did not return a single penny to us; neither did they offer us the choice of proceeding with the trip within a year taking the flight fare additionally.
                    I can understand the ticket fares are not refundable. But they should have at least paid us back the amount meant for accommodation and other expenses.

It is understood the rate of foreign exchange as maybe prevalent on the date of final payment will be applicable, if the same remains lower or higher than 69.10 on october 26th when final payment will be made.

                        Myself and spouse senior citizens and retired central government officials approached the
                        Cox and kings branch office in indira nagar for our package tour to usa during month of may 2017.
                        After discussion we have selected the 10 days package tour to usa named american sojourn. The total cost for the trip rs 495882/- towards main tour and optional tours put together. The tour package was commenced from 22/08/2107 and ended on 31/08/2017. The optional tours selected by us are as follows.
                        Grand canyon west rim combo tour by aero plane cost per head 370 x 2 (740) us dollars paid on 22nd july 2017.
                        Bay cruise ride in san francisco, cost per head 45 x 2 (90) us dollars paid on 22/07/2017.
                        Despite my advance booking for the grand canyon tour the company failed to provide the desired service in us. They took us by the bus to the location which cost per head 215 us dollars only. The difference between two modes per head is 155 us dollars in total for two persons 310 us dollars.
                        On arrival back to bangalore during first week of sept i approached cox and kings office in indira nagar for the refund. I was asked to provide the bank account details for effecting refund and advised to contact customer care centre and mr sharan viswanath assistant sales head bangalore. As per the advice i addressed mails to the concern stating that we could not get the desired service at las vegas in the morning and forced travel by bus to the location. I was made to wait for more than one month stating that we are checking with us office and revert. On 06/10/17 received mail stating that we cannot concede your demand on no show up account which does not arise in this case. One day earlier to the booked service i informed mr farhad irani tour manager about our optional tour by air. The tour manager informed previous day evening to wait near the designated spot for pick up next day at 6 am and he did not shared any authority or mail with us despite one month in advance payment received by the company. We are in the spot from 5.50 am to 6.30 am and we could not get the service. Hence we called up tour manager and narrated the situation and we were asked to wait and after some time he called us stating, the service provider came by 5.45 am and left. We were instructed to come join with the group by 7.30 am for our journey to location by bus. During breakfast time he casually informed that service option by air 1 pm available which we declined since the service unreliable, no written authority or mail from the service provider was shared by the management further we do not wish to take any chances we had bad experience in the early hours.
                        At this juncture i would like bring it to your notice that the mail received from cox and kings stated that the service provider had cancelled trip to grand canyon in the morning hours due to bad weather which is contradictory to the communication given by the tour manager narrated in the previous para.
                        The inference from above paragraph exposed the flaw by the cox and kings further not shared documental evidence till date having booked the seats by flight for our journey to the location.
                        The difference amount refund sought for noncompliance of the desired service from the company rejected on flimsy grounds. I appeal to the consumer forum to look into the merit of the case and pass needful orders to the company for the compliance of refund, impose penalty deem fit for causing mental agony to the customers and protect rights of the consumers taken for ride by the unethical/unreliable practices of the travel companies. The action taken by the forum will caution and relays right signals over pan india to the travel companies to abide by the norms and rules and regulations.

                          Cox and kings decide on their own terms that when the customer will travel and book tickets on dates selected by them with no information to the customer. They don't think its imp at all to inform the customer about the flight details. I booked the thailand package with arshit shetty, my bad luck. I should have read his previous reviews. I told him that i want to book package for thailand for the date of october 20th departure and all in the mails its written about 20th october. As 19th october was diwali so told him that in no case will travel on diwali night and there is a flight available for october 20th departure as well. After repetitive reminding to the delhi officer mr. Gaurav jingala, he shared the flight details with me on october 18th with my departure date as october 19th at 23: 15 pm. There is no record for that date neither i agreed verbally nor there is any written information that i shared with them.in their thailand package pdf also departure dates of 19, 20 october were mentioned. Which they say is the first day of travel. As far i know english departure means you will be boarding the flight on that day and departing from the country. Even if they have this understanding then who will inform / explain to the customer. Will the customer have dreams about it..?? Mr. Rahul joseph (Arshit shetty ' supervisor from mumbai) and mr. Gaurav jingala (From delhi / ggn) ruined my diwali day by continuously insisting to board the flight as the tickets were non refundable and even they don't have any documention for the october 19th departure and now they say that neither i can travel with my deposited nor they will refund back. Even if its a company policy to book a flight on a different date if flights on a requested particular date is not available then under no circumstances they can book a flight at their own will without asking / informing the customer and force the customer to go on that particular date because they have made a mistake and want customer to pay for it. Even mr. Gaurav's senior mr. Ambuj sharma called me on october 19th and asked me whether i was given any prior information of flight, its date and time even if the tickets were not shared. None was done and shared and even he had no reply.

                          I also confirmed the details to a lady representative from mumbai office before mr. Gaurav, started further communication.

                          They are now saying that the amount is non-refundable as i had made confirmation without them stating facts and figures for which date.

                          I want my money back as why should i bear for other's mistakes.

                          Gaurav's mail denying my amount. Here no where he has stated that for which date i made the booking for.

                          As per our discussion yesterday, we would like to inform you that as you did not travel yesterday night as per scheduled flight, please be informed that the cancellation for your booking will 100% as all the services were issued. There will be no refund for any of the services.

                            I am writting this mail in connection to booking id no 869942 tour to srilanka. This is yet again to bring to your notice that as i had spoken to sanjana and samreeta that as per the itenary of srilanka tour i had the travel insurance included in the package. I had come in person in the first instance and met samreeta n tej for visa. I had requested for the necessary changes to the package as per my requirenment and tht was accommodated instantly and i was assured n promised rest of the package remains the same. So i went for the package.

                            Its less than 24 hrs for me to board and i still dont have my complete travel documents and point of tour contact person in srilanka and over and above all after knowing that i am travelling with a family and a small 4 years girl child i have been deprived from the travel insurance. 2 days back i received the mail for no travel insurance n i was surprised n call back to samreeta and then sanjana who blantly told me insurance is separate for rs. 1000 and not included in the package. I was shocked but believed them and signed tht form n send them but today when i was going through all mails i found the above saved screenshot i am mailing.

                            I blindly trusted cox and kings and this is the service i m getting. I dont get response of mails after mails. N to connect on phone to concern person it takes atleast 10 calls and more than 6 hrs. Dania habib is just a name i have heard of who is looking into my file and point of contact as mailed to me

                            But in all this the first point of contact for me samreeta has been of help better than any one here.

                            but still i feel cheated and rather than relaxing tonight for tour tom night i am writing this mail and still waiting for vouchers and tour guide contact in srilanka.

                            Hope it reaches to the concerned person who is concerned about the brand cox and kings and their customers and approprite steps are taken for our tour immediately

                                Such a pathetic and inhuman service which we never expected.. They are fraud and have a very # policy of fooling innocent people. We wanted to either postpone the trip as we are facing some serious health issue and they say, all the bookings are done so we wont be able to refund your money.. They don't give any written communication and earlier they promised to pay 11k out of 80k but now they are refusing to refund even that amount.. We have all the hospital and doctors reports still these sick minded people are not doing anything..in this digital world, every booking can be reserved well in advance and can be cancelled much before without any or minimum charge. Even flight tickets are refundable where you get some amount refunded.. I have travelled the world but never faced this thing of non refundable or no - postpone travel schedule.
                                Earlier they promised to postpone the trip if we provide genuine hospital bills and reports. Now they backed off. They are not even ready to refund some amount. Very cheap way of money making.. We have lost all our money. My father has serious health issues and these fraudsters are just making money out of people's hard earned money in the name of policy.

                                  I had booked 9 nights 10 days package for my parents to dubai with cox & kings. 3 nights in hotel hitlon al mina and 6 nights in fortune grand hotel and apartments in bur dubai. Initially, everything was fine on the tour although they have overcharged for the transfers to us. On the day of arrival my father gave his local mobile number to the person who has picked them and person name mr. Sharma in order to communication my parents went very first time on vacations unaware of the conditions and everything. I have explained them well. They were booked for city tour, desert safari and dhow cruise which went well. Everytime cab drive used to call my father and that is how they got picked up from their hotel (Hilton). Later they got a transfer to second hotel fortune grand which turned out to be a nightmare. The room they got was okay but breakfast each day was unbearable and they kept repeating only 3-4 dishes on the menu. The tv remote in room did not work for all 7 days they stayed there despite multiple complaints. The landline phone did not work except the last day after multiple complaints

                                  The last two tours were dubai mall visit and abu dhabi full day city tour which was the highlight of their tour. Dubai mall visit went fine. The day they were supposed to get abu dhabi tour they were supposed to get their pick up between 8:30 am to 9 am in the morning. They were ready and as landline was not working my father went to hotel reception at 8:15 am and informed them about our pickup for the tour so that they should not miss it. They always got a phone call from drive except for this day and they missed the tour my father called mr. Sharma around 9 am asking about the cab he asked for some time to check and later said it would be there in few mins so my parents started to wait again only to find out that the cab had come to hotel and hotel people called on room landline multiple time (Which was not working and my father informed this to them and left his cell number at reception) no one tried to call them on their cell number and drive did not bother to call his manager and informed same. They missed the tour. And hotel people and cox and kings supplies stared to ask for usd 60 to rearrange the tour. Same day they asked usd 60 and next day also when i got to know the situation being in india saying it will be the private tour and they have compensated already usd 100 for the same tour. And did not provide even after multiple complaints and fault at the end only. I am highly disappointed with the way they behaved and just tried to make money out of this situation.

                                    I hope and believe that your esteem organisation will arrange to refund the amount as desired by me and will take appropriate action against official concerned.

                                    Apart from other plus & minus and please arrange to refund the excess amount charged by your manager at bhubaneswar centre during my tour to europe under marvels of europe tour. All have promised to look into the matter before my departure and also assurance given by your manager at bhubaneswar before and after my tour, even yesterday i. E.21.08.2017, he assured me the amount might have been credited. I will verify and then will reply. The detail is appended below:-
                                    As per your t&c at the time of booking it was finalised that expenses will be rs.120000.00 per person ex-delhi and with this i agreed to accept your offer. As we are 4 persons, my cost will be rs.120000.00*4=rs.480000.00 and i planned accordingly. But at the time of visa i paid rs.172000.00 and before departure mr. Avinash, manager told me to pay rs.325000.00, otherwise he told me you will not get any refund. It was as per our company demand. For every query, he replied one thing i. E. It is company's demand. Hence i paid as under
                                    Total amount paid by me rs.172000.00+rs.325000.00=rs. Rs.497000.00 against your demand at the time of booking of rs.480000.00 as i have no other option at the last moment.. My budget got derailed and during this i have talked to your manager &. Official concerned, official of otdc,. But every body told me to first enjoy the trip and then we will look into the matter.

                                    Apart from cancellation charges of rs.68000.00 was paid by me, which was not disclosed till the rescheduling of the date. After my payment of rs.172000.00 to mr. Avinash, he told me cancellation charges of rs.68000.00 will have to pay by me otherwise my entire amount will be non-refundable. If he would have been talked me earlier, i would have been cancelled/postponed my tour after making payment of cancellation charges to our orgn. I asked repeatedly to him about the cancellation charges, but he never gives the details.

                                    Moreover, we travelled with other 6/7 families from different parts of india. I asked them about tour packages. Their tour packages was also booked @ rs.120000.00 per person and they have paid accordingly. They have also been supplied with one cox&king handbag, what we have been deprived off, even never informed about it.

                                    A lot of thing happens during this horrible experiences. Staying arrangement t hotel was far far below. I will rate 1 out of 10. All customers have complaint over staying arrangement & charges. Pl verify feedback forms. If you really understood my agony and financial loss as well as mental torture, please arrange to refund the excess amount of rs.17000.00 in my accoun. Plz treat the matter as extremely "urgent & important"
                                    Please refer to my trailing mail on several dates and arrange to solve my problem immediately and refund my excess amount, which was demanded on last day of the tour i. E. On 18.06.2017 over mobile phone by your territory manager posted at bhubaneswar otherwise your tour will be cancelled. I was at delhi at that time for departure with my family members, as i had no other option, i paid entire excess amount. I contact one my colleague and on the strength of my mobile message, entire amount was debited from my account. Everything i will submit in evidences including complaint of other travelers with me. Your office has acknowledged the excess charge taken but not yet refunded the amount even after 2 and half months already passed.

                                    Your reply from local sales manager:-

                                    We have mentioned about the refund of your excess amount if any, if the same is not acceptable, you are free to take up the matter to whatever forum you want. That is your right.

                                    It is surprised that how you are showing in your website that "problem is resolved"
                                    Please enquire the issue correctly and ascertain the truth, otherwise i have no option to proceed through legal process i. E. To rti cell, consumer court &
                                    Ombudsman.

                                      I booked a thailand package for 28th september from bangalore to thailand later the flight got cancelled and they rescheduled it to kolkata-thailand at first the package cost was 32000 later they said they were unable to book. Tickets and asked for 2500 extra, which was wrong but then they agreed and the employee arshit shetty agreed there will be no more extra charge if there is any they will bear, and just 48 hours before the trip they have changed the itiniery and when i complained they said that was for bangalore though i have for kolkata one as well for the same itiniery and also they are taking 150 usd for land package and they also they said before either it be from anywhere in india land package is same for all. Its fixed and now if i have to take those sight seeings i will have to pay 3000 inr extra from my pocket i have all the mails and call recordings they are cheaters. Please do something

                                        The agent roshini from asian famous tours and travels in singapore was extremely rude and unhelpful.
                                        She was uncooperative and a complete b*h. When we called her regarding our pick up from the airport, she didn't help us at all. We had to figure out by ourselves to contact the driver. Anytime we called her regarding any help, she was very rude and completely unhelpful. Thanks to her, we never want to travel with cox and kings again, if this is the kind of service provided.
