This is to inform you that i have booked two slots for me and my wife sumita sen for that captioned tour proposed by cox and kings ltd and paid the entire tour cost in three instalments. Rs.95000/- on 25 may 2019, rs.86000/- on 06 august 2019 and rs.93412/- on 13 september 2019 totalling to rs.274412/-. Hi cox and kings,


On an event in being unable to reach you even after repeated calls in helpline (Which seems deactivated), mumbai & delhi offices (Which is either deactivated or not picking calls), i am left with no other option to communicate with you.

A trip of mine has been cancelled without any formal notification and any reference contact and obviously without returning of my money.

In this scenario, i expect to receive a callback from you, within 24 hours. Otherwise i will be bound to register necessary complaints and undertake legal actions.

We paid for a trip to athens from newark, nj, usa and on arrival met by "travel to greece" agent telling that they had not received any payment from cox and kings and we had to pay 2233.04 euros if we wanted to continue our already paid for tour.       This is in reference to the subject tour as above booked by me (For my spouse and myself) through m/s cox & kings. The starting date of the tour was 7th oct. 2019. However, on 1st oct 2019, i was informed by an sms from cox & kings, mandeville gardens, kolkata 700019 representative, ms nayani nandy, senior executive, that the tour is called off. She also informed that official mail would follow. However, the mail was received only on 09 oct 2019 by means of a general letter cancellation intimation over email.
      I tried to contact mr neville mistry, operational head, cox & kings, mumbai office, over phone, which remained un-responded for a full day. However, after protracted whatsapp correspondence (During which i repeatedly wrote to him), he answered on 3rd oct. 2019 morning, that "this departure is called off and a written information is being sent to all passengers... Yes, you will get the refund in full along with interest as mentioned in our letter". Thereafter, i received a call from their mumbai office in the evening at 16.52 hrs (From no.[protected], informing the same news and that the mail in confirmation would be sent within 24 hours. He even confirmed my email id. However, the intimation general email was delivered only on 09 oct 2019 by mr. Vinay kadav.
      Mr. Vinay kadav, who patiently listened to me and gave me the cancellation intimation by email.

      My details as per the booking with cox & kings, are as follows:

      Tour : turkey greek sojourn - durga puja spl - 12 days/ 11nights - 07 oct. - 18 oct. 2019
      Departure date : 07 october 2019 early morning.
      Amount paid : rs. 4, 02, 350/ — (Rupees four lakh two thousand three hundred and fifty only)

      I have retired from service recently and had booked the holiday with my hard-earned superannuation benefits. I request you to kindly impress upon cox & kings authorities to refund the money at an early date. The cox & kings have indicated in their email that the booking amount would be refunded in 90 days alongwith 12% interest p. A. However, this seems too long. I request you to treat my case as a special one, and instruct the cox and kings authorities to arrange the refund as early as possible, if possible, immediately..

      I will send my bank details as soon as i am advised to fulfil the formalities required. Please note i was not issued any flight tickets or holiday documents by the company. Only the visas were done, which would not be of any use now.

      I request you to please take up my case immediately and oblige.

        payment of our tour agents in athens, greece

        We paid for a tour and trip to greece to cox and kings travel agency. They took our money and then did not pay the agents in greece for our hotels or tours. The only way we could continue was to pay an additional $2400 to t2g travel company in athens which was the amount cox and kings was to pay to them to handle our hotels and tour.
        All attempts to contact cox and kings by telephones or email or searching online have failed...

        Payment from cox n king is pending from last 3 months. Now they are denying that, their financial condition is not good. So, its very dicy. Everytime they are making new excuses. Mr anoop gupta is vice president of cox n king. I have sent many mails to them, but they never respond.

        Its really disgusting that how big corporates are playing with the money of people. Amount is rs 25660/-

        ITS relating to your Forex deptt. Ask them whether they have paid commissions to all parties, with whom they working. Mr Anoop Gupta ji, knows very well, who is saying that company is having financial crises. So We cant give.

          We have booked amhi travelkar advitiya europe tour (Booking date 28-may-2019) with cox and kings, thane branch for the departure date of 12th of aug 2019. We paid 80000 as booking amount. However due to medical reasons we have to cancel the trip on 12th of june 2019.
          We are eligible to get the refund of around 56000 as per the company policy. However its been almost 4 months we are continuously following for the refund, but there is no response from the said authorities.

            I have booked with cox and kings kolkata for the winter special egyptian wonders tour. Departure date:- 24th december 2019.

            For the same, i have paid rs.95000/- as the booking amount for two persons.

            After the event of recent news on shut down of cox and kings kolkata branch, no one over here is responding to my email/ phone calls. Please confirm immediately if the tour is happening.

              I have not received refund for my trip.
              The agent has left the company and customer service is not replying to my call.

              I had booked trip for :

              We used our retirement money for the trip however due to rejection of visa trip was cancelled. We were supposed t get refund based on visa protection plan but the same never happened.

              Its been more than a month of following up. Please help

                Booking i'd 1108325. They cancelled the tour on last week of august. Till now i have not received my refund. I call company on daily basis but they don't give any respond evenly they don't respond to the mail's also. Please provide my refund also. I don't think they evenly feel the guilty. No reply is provided and also provided the refund. I have an e mail in the month of september or august, we have initiated the process you will get refund on or before 12th september. Now it's october till i don't receive any refund. Now they don't respond to our mail's and calls

                    I have booked europe trip bid: 1106433 ex amd // amhi travelkar - adviteeya europe - summer 2019 ex amd - group tour // 12-aug-19.
                    As my uk visa got rejected i had to cencelled my trip. I’m senior citizen and i’m still waiting for refund. Its more than two months while refund was promised to be credited within 15-25 days.

                      Hi,
                      It is a great displeasure to have booked a tour package from Cox and Kings India.
                      We booked a foreign travel package in July for 04 passengers which was scheduled for departure on Tuesday, 24th Sep.
                      We immediately transferred a sum of Rs. 1, 76, 000/- to their bank.
                      On the night of Saturday, 21st Sep., we got a sudden communication from Cox and Kings regarding the last minute cancellation of the tour. They did not even share any reasons or just any info. on cancellation.
                      We got back to them for the grounds and did not get a documented response.
                      It has been 08 days but there has been no progress of refund of package cost. Moreover, on repeated requests and follow ups, they are stating that the passports shall be returned within 45 working days.
                      They seem to be least bothered about the customer and his further travel plans.
                      Their customer service does nothing except sending response after multiple attempts to reach them.
                      We are utterly disappointed by the cold state of affairs and response cycle of Cox and Kings and we are not sure whether and when they are going to refund the package cost and return the passports.
                      We sincerely condemn these sort of practices for the indian consumer and we seek refund and passports immediately.

                          I have booked uk delights for self and wife during december 2018 and paid rs. 2 lakhs. Even after 8 months, they could not arrange a tour program but they told me every month departure would be there for uk. They informed in the month of august 2019 the tour program was canceled. Without even confirm the date of tour program the visa team processed the visa for uk which is purely the internal mistake. Now they wanted to pay rs.177220/- instead of rs.2 lacs. Who will pay the interest loss for 8 months.
                          What i can do with the uk visa if they canceled the tour. While paying the amount through hdfc credit card they deduct rs.2000/- towards the fees credit card.
                          If the customer canceled the program they have to forego huge amount if cox and kings canceled the program?? Again customer has to lose money.

                          Now cox and kings forcing me to accept in writing for rs.177220/- for making a refund. It is cheap bargaining and i did not accept. They have to pay interest for eight months keeping my money with them

                          Hence i request you to forward the complaint.

However as on date-04.09.2019, i havent received the confirmed flight tickets and hotel bookings. Please help.                                 Sir,

                                I and a few of my friends had paid rs.50, 000 each towards advance payment for the proposed tour by cox & kings to indonesia. Unfortunately the tour was cancelled unilaterally by cox & kings.

                                I have made the payment through imps to cox & kings account on 26 july 2019. I was told on 4 aug that the amount would be refunded to me within 14 days. It is once month since then, still i have not got the refund due to me.

                                I have been in touch with mr. Vijay and ms. Pavithra of your office at anna nagar, chennai and the reply i get is "it is being processed by the bombay office" and that i will be getting the refund shortly.

                                Is it fair on the part of cox & kings to delay the refund when i had trusted your office and paid the advance as requested? I have made the payment on 26 july and it is 3 sep today.

                                Kindly talk to the people concerned and transfer the refund due to me to the account i had already given. Hope you will take the matter seriously and do the needful.

                                A line in reply and a prompt action will be much appreciated.

                                  I (S. B. Nandakumar) here to explain the difficulties faced by me for the trip to kailash & manasarover trip arranged by cox & kings. Giving payment (Rs.283000 for 2 persons), handing over passport for chinese visa and getting only permit, till then everything ran smoothly. On the night of 8/8/19 due to heavy rain cochin airport got closed. My flight tickets were cancelled by indigo. On contacting cox & kings emergency number mrs. Rachna vyas and through email of leena raghav, they informed me that, last moment cancellation, i would not get any refund and they suggested, try to book another flight from kozhikode to kathmandu. I booked ticket on 10th august 19 and reached kathmandu by 11th aug 2019 by 3 pm.in the evening at 4pm the coordinator, manoj kothari and his team of sherpa from fishtail called for a get together in le himalaya hotel. There we got information our visas were not ready. They had changed our itinerary from the original itinerary provided by cox & kings. We were in kathmandu till 13th of august with no sign of visa. Afternoon 12 pm received the news that visa is granted and we have to cross chinese border before 3pm on 15th aug.19. We left from a poorly maintained hotel the amadablam hotel in kathmandu to hotel namaste, syabrubesi (3 sharing basis) near the chinese border on 13th afternoon and travelling on a heavily raining night on a slippery road of nepal by bus was hair raising and dangerous. Total time of travel from syabrubesi was 17 hours (Including 4 hrs. Due to landslide)
                                  On 14th morning with fanfare we left syabrubesi after breakfast and after an hour into the journey, due to landslide we were stuck up for 4 hours. By afternoon, after having lunch on a wayside restaurant, we reached by 3 pm nepal –tibetan border. After crossing the border reached saga by midnight of 15th aug 2019. Had dinner by 2am chinese time or 11.30 pm ist. 5 persons dormitory was given in grand hotel. Total time of travel from syabrubesi was 17 hours (Including 4 hrs. Due to landslide). On 15th aug 2019 high altitude sickness caught up with 60 % of our group. This led to a frenzy and cox & kings coordinator and nepali sherpa from fishtail started using foul and insensitive talking. No loving words only grandmother stories. Then on 16th august we all left for manasorover. Total time of travel from saga to manasorover was 10 hours. 6 person dormitories for rest. After taking bath and doing puja on banks of manasorover lake, we left for manasorover lake parikarma by bus. Reached darchen by night 10 pm on 17th of august. Here dormitory with 14 person with single bathroom and toilet facilty was given. Here again cox & kings coordinator and nepali sherpa from fishtail started using foul and insensitive talking. They declared nobody above age of 60 yrs can go for parikrama and gave frightful experience of earlier pilgrimages. When more than 6 person became stubborn whose age was above 60 yrs rebelled, he told no responsibility will be on him. He told all ponies are sold out and cost of the ponies are rs.35000. (Later on trip we came to know it was only rs. 10000). He gave a fright if you don’t reach derapuk and halfway return back then our accommodation has to be rebooked by us and travel back to darchen is on our own expenditure. Both nepali sherpa was shouting and using derogatory language as if we were refugees in order to get asylum in their country and our coordinator supporting the same. All ladies, many young men fell into the prey of their foul language. Only 50% percent was ready to trek for whole parikrama. If nice soothing words and helpfulness was granted still some more persons could have joined us. Both our cox & kings coordinator as well as lead nepali sherpa was trying to back us out from parikrama. On 18th august my wife and my friend’s wife informed manoj kothari for booking return from tibetan border to kathmandu by helicopter, we are ready to pay for the same but fell on deaf ears. On 18th august left for yam dwar doing our prayers most of the ladies and some men folk went back to darchen. I and my friends started walking 12 kms with a plastic cover given by sherpa containing only an apple, 1 bar chocolate, 1 biscuit packet, 1 gauva juice tetra pack and few wet wipes and reached derapuk by 4 pm.5 person dormitories. There again cox & kings coordinator and nepali sherpa started all have to go for oxygen level test and adding fear factor of the danger for next day travel. I and my many friends were cool under this barrage of fearful experience given by our cox & kings coordinator and nepali sherpa. Many a time i felt whether they are human and why they cannot give good advice. I think lord shiva want to test us. Early in the morning of 19th august, by 6 am, 22 km. Trek with a plastic cover and with eatables, our entire group with sherpa started to move at a great pace wherein it was totally dark with rain and some snowfall.in pitch of night we were able to make our way through the rocks only by torch light. Neither cox & kings coordinator nor nepali sherpa were seen till daylight broke out. These two guys were resting and watching us struggling to reach them. No help on the way. Then again started picking up some members of our group and state that they have to return back. But our will power and religious belief to see mount kailash pulled us along. On the half way mark i and my bengali friends were having good walk but for slight breathlessness this nepali sherpa started using his belligerent shouting but we considered him as a fool who with no manners. Seeing this he walked off. After 5 hours we reached gauri kund. Then travelling down and flat plain reached zutulpuk by 6 pm. All 11 persons including 5 persons above age of 60 reached our resting place in zutulpuk. 6 person dormitories. I found right from manasorover no light was provided. No hot water was provided for cleaning our face and leg in zutulpuk. Neither cox & kings coordinator nor nepali sherpa helped us any way on this trip with kind words but only being hostile and trying to turn us back. On 20th august after 10 km trek bus picked us up and dropped us at darchen. Left darchen by 10 am and reached saga by 4 pm. 4 people in a room. Started from saga by 5.30 am on 21st august and got stuck up in jilong for more than 6 hrs. Again blame is not on the neither cox & kings coordinator nor nepali sherpa but, the group got into the bus late from saga. Again they were sidestepping on the mistakes they made. Left jilong by 1 pm and reached tibet - nepal border by 4.30 pm. The whole group was not provided with lunch or dinner on 21st august, 2019. We had only a small break for tea and biscuits at a way side restaurant. From 9 pm on 21st august till 22nd august 3 pm, all had to spend the entire night in the bus braving heavy rains and landslides. Next day morning, cox & kings coordinator and the nepali sherpa both were missing. No breakfast was provided on 22nd morning too. The coordinator has deliberately skipped on one day’s meals and we were left to fend on our own. All the people in the group and myself had to cancel or change our flight schedule to next day. Again neither cox & kings coordinator was not of any help, as net service was not available. But some members of our group had international roaming facility thus we could contact wife, daughter, sons for rescheduling of tickets but our cox & kings coordinator was absconding. His version was he was trying to book helicopter to lift us off from the mountain but not successful.in between my wife and my friend’s wife was in near exhaustion state so, we tried to book personally a helicopter through a person but no helicopter came due to bad weather. The sherpa from fishtail insisted me to give cancellation charges or they would confiscate my indian passport, again cox & kings coordinator was of no use. It was as if manoj kothari was under the sherpa’s influence totally. Wherein many members started questioning the part of the cox & kings coordinator in the whole trip. His nepali sherpa was also questioned for his foul language and inhuman treatment of an educated lot and highly placed officials as refugees. When they saw that they were being questioned, both of them fled the place. We reached kathmandu by 7 pm. On the way again cox & kings coordinator again informed that hotel charges to be paid by us and breakfast free but lunch and dinner to be paid by us. But later we were informed that we could stay at le himalaya free of charge for one more day. On rescheduling charges he informed that is for us to decide.
                                  What i got the impression is cox & kings coordinator is a passenger and he used to listen only to nepali sherpa from fishtail wherein he used his power to subdue us. If cox & kings which has more than 260 years of experience has to improve their standard of package to kailash manasarovar, then they must not enlist manoj kothari and the nepali sherpa from fishtail for further trips. They will bring shame to the organiser and tourist will lose faith on your capabilities.

                                    Came from kailash yatra a couple of days ago. The treatment which my group got from your side and fishtail was pretty bad. Neither cox and kings nor fish tail took care of yatri stranded in flood. Moreover never followed itinerary and as result there was one casualty in saga. Harshful treatment of travellers by nepal guide spoiled the entire charm of yatra. Should have taken care that yatris come after paying the amount you demanded and are meted with ill-treatment at the hands of petty guide s who even doesn't know to talk decently. We were left alone when flood came and whole group hadn't had lunch dinner or break fast. At least employee someone who is educated and knows how behave with guest.
