i have been using videocon services for almost 2 years now. first year, i used videocond2h set which had the inbuilt DVD/USB media player in the set top box. i upgraded to the hd-dvr set top box and since then, it has been the worst experience being a videocon customer.
Started with the remote malfunctioning and functions failing in the evening for almost 7 months; next started the recording function that has always given a new error each week. i have not faced issues with the services center though. they have been courteous enough to provide me support and replacements of the product.
I would not call it a fault of the service center, if the product seems to have a problem. they visited and changed my set-top-box plenty of times for various complaints that i registered with the call center. i have got the lnb replaced, set top boxes replaced plenty times. each time, i am told that i am the only customer who is facing problem with the DVR set and am verbally offered data of dvr users at noida or up-east, to talk to them and confirm if they had a problem (was never given the data, or made to talk with any other customer though! also, i have been given plenty of funny and odd reasons by the technicians visiting for service viz- the paint of my room causes the remote to malfunction (paint has always been there, even when i bought the connection and used for first few weeks!) i kept insisting that there is a problem with the software or the back-end and the product is a failure, but was only given replacement sets, which itself is a process and takes its own time.
What is the point buying and paying for a dvr set top box, if the media guide has a problem al-through the year, or if the recording function is not reliable and currently doesnt at all work? I was offered a standby set over 3 weeks back, and i had asked the service center to get me a response from the company. Its very Unfortunatenever received a courtesy call-back from them. Last week I called and asked for a reply from company, and the history continues... currently, DVR DOES NOT RECORD AT ALL, I need to unplug the power and restart the system to view channels. i am told that the r&d team is working on fixing things and would take a quarter more. am i the only customer who is facing all this trauma? or am i one of the very few customers who are using videocond2h dvr set top box? I LOOK FORWARD TO WALK OUT OF THIS WONDERFUL SERVICE, but would like to have a genuine public opinion on this issue and also know IF I REALLY AM THE ONLY CUSTOMER USING DVR ? OR FACING SUCH ISSUES FOR MONTHS altogether?

During the exchange offer processing, instead of deactivating the exchanged SD Box:[protected], the existing SD box :[protected] is deactivated.
Hence the connection is suspended for the box and i am not able to view the channels.i contacted customer care and got a reply saying i need to wait for 24hours, so that the will audit and see if this is an issue from their side and i was informed to make a follow up call tonight(26-Sep-2012) to check the status.
Again now i have 2 connections active(1 HD box which is from the exchange and the box which is exchanged:[protected])
Kindly activate the existing SD Box : [protected] and deactivate the exchanged SD Box:[protected]
