Free ADVICE to potential customers: STAY AWAY FROM ELICA, ITS A SUB-STANDARD PRODUCT THAT HAS NAME OF ITALY BUT DO NOT MATCH UP TO THE SAFETY AND SERVICE STANDARDS THAT ARE PROVIDED THERE. THEY POSE SERIOUS THREAT TO THE PEOPLE WHO ARE IN KITCHEN.
STAY AWAY FROM IT AND THANK ME LATER!
Firstly, I am not new to using glass hobs have been using Faber for past three years (without hassle) thought of moving to Elica as it was getting difficult to get spare products for Faber, in hindsight it turned out to be a really bad decision. Elica product is sub-standard and lacks durability, It poses serious hazards to people who are in kitchen that can be attributed to poor tests and service men who installed the product.
Here comes my ordeal:
We purchased Elica four burner(FLEXI PRO FB 70 MT DX) stove on 05-May-21, from Hyderabad Gachibowli showroom, had to wait for couple of days to get it installed. On 25th of May while preparing breakfast the glass shattered into pieces. Glass shards were all over the place, good that it hadn't hurt anyone. Called showroom folks who absolutely had no idea on how to resolve the issue, had gotten lame reasons from the folk that service men are busy, no one is answering and had no SLA's on how to proceed in resolving the issue from next day (26th of May) stopped answering our calls.
Called the helpline that is on Warranty card on 25th of May, we were promised that service centre will call us on 25th of May but no one called, upon follow-up on 26th afternoon, I got a call from service centre saying that it would take 3-5 days to get the glass replacement with no other alternative provided. They just use the reason that its lockdown, I know it's lockdown but you are running showroom also in lockdown and selling products then why not put customers issues the same attention, who had reposed faith in you by choosing your brand. We do not have alternative and left in limbo with an optimistic hope that someone will magically resolve our issue.
I have asked the people (both showroom and service centre) to give me the mail id where I can escalate my formal complaint on the way my issue is being handled so that some person who has power in his hand to take decision can take measures to course correct their brand image. I didn't get any, as a last resort am posting it here to raise awareness among Customers.
I am sorry to say that the brand that has so much of value abroad (believe me I have lived in abroad for a decade) is being sabotaged by their employees who do not care for the brand name and are very casual in their approach.
