Vide Order No. OD[protected] dated May 24, 2022, an order was placed on Flipkart App for iPhone 13 (RED) with exchange. There was no provision during the placement of order that the box, charger, cable etc. of the old phone must have to be given at the time of delivery. It’s to be noted, now Apple does not provide charges, etc. along with the iPhone, and it has to be separately procured.
A delivery executive Mr. Suraj Dipak Gajabe (Mobile No.[protected]) came for exchange on Friday, 27th May 2022, who demanded the box and charger for the old phone, which were not available with me. It would be interesting to note that the delivery boy dd not any physical ID card. After repeated request he shared the scan copy of ID cards, which is not a valid document as per law.
The delivery Boy then showed me an unofficial message showing that those items were required for exchange, else the order will be cancelled. The delivery boy also talked to one Mr. Mukesh Singh, who also instructed him to do so. Upon query, he tried to shout at me without any cogent reasons saying that he’s following his senior’s instruction. Meanwhile, as per his request, I had to remove the cover, screen-guard, etc. from the phone.
Ultimately, the delivery boy did not budge, despite my repeated requests that the demands are not as per written Flipkart order resulting into unnecessary harassment and wastage of time for delivery.
Thereafter I received an automated call asking whether I require re-attempt of delivery, to which I selected yes.
To my surprise, I received message that I have rejected the order and hence a refund is issued. Why, should I place an order in the first place? This is an illegal option exercised by Flipkart/ associates to harass the gullible customers. This practice must be going on with the help of the deliberate option in the software system. The order was cancelled by Flipkart/ associates and not by me.
Flipkart does not appear to have clear-cut SOPs in place to ensure customers are not harassed.
Kindly look into the matter and take urgent and necessary preventive and precautionary steps to ensure gullible customers of Flipkart and other online platforms are not harassed cheated like this in collusion with seller/ delivery staff.
Flipkart customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.
