I have paid Rs.249/- for 2 years subscription of Hindustan Times Subscription vide SBI cheque.no.508705. The cheque is shown as cleared in my statement of account on 9/12/2011.

I have not yet received the coupon for the same.

Please look into the matter.

We had subscribed to Hindustan TImes News Paper vide "Form No: R133966" for two years. Subscription was in the form of monthly coupons to be given to news paper vendor on monthly basis. Of the two years subscribed we had received coupons only for first twelve months. Hindustan times was supposed to give the remaining 12 months coupon at end of first year term. But Hindustan times did not give the coupon so I promotly called up the customer care on 67764242 / 67764248. The response from customer care was highly irr-responsible and negligent. Initially they said the coupons were despatched to the newspaper vendor directly. So we conveyed the same to the vendor and in anticipation of coupons he supplied the news paper for two months. Even then the subscription coupons were not delivered. So we had pay the vendor seperately for two months.So we had to incurr a loss on the differential amount we paid to Hindustan times and what actually the news paper costs. Then I called up the customer care again they said there was a delay in despatch and they were sorry about it and would be despatched immideatly. But till date we have not received the coupons and the money for one year of subscription has also not been re-funded. So I request the respected body to kindly interven and help me get a favourable compensation from Hindustan times.

I am in the same boat, i feel same.
Its a shame on such newspaper.

i had suscribed for two years 199 scheme on march 2007.
Upto march 2008 i used to receive the paper but since april 2008 the same service is discontinued.

When i spoke to my vendor Mr. A.M Nambi (Virar East) he told me that since he has not received coupons from Mr. Subhash Kadam He is not able to supply the paper.

I had even spke to Mr. Subhash Kadam(Mob. [protected]). He replied that the coupon are in shortage and then since no action is being taken from u r side.

After the all of the above circumstances Subhash Kadam is avoiding my phone calls.

I[censored] r not able to sort the issue kindly refund my money back..

In case no action is taken I will go to Audit Bureau of Circulation which can spoil u r name in the market..

Hindustan Times — Cheque taken Coupons not delivered

This is Jignesh Arvind Vora.
I had subscribed for Hindustan times newspaper coupons.
It has been around 4-5 months since we had provided the cheque of Rs 190/- to our local newspaper vendor.
The cheque number is 659488.It was for abt Rs 195/-

Since then there has been no news regarding the coupons.
We had complained several times but there is no response from the hindustan times side.
We even visited the local Hindustan times office but no progress.

I guess they are cheating the customers.
There will be several customers like me.

I want to know what can be done further.
I want my money back.

I got two year subscription from Hindustan Times on October 2007, after that I received paper only for two months and since then i had not received a single paper nor any coupon. I had given the cheque to the vendors person who use to put paper at our nearby society's now he also missing, my cheque amount is also get debited from my account in the name of H T Media, when I meet the vendor he says i dont know about your coupon and I dont know you too ! ! !. and he also says that we will cheack the same and inform you, but already 4 months passed no reply from the vendor. trying to contact Hindustan Times costumer care is stupidity, Nonsense, waist of time I am not bother for loss of Rs 199 towards my subscription, but worried for the despicable service of Hindustan Times, Very Very Very POOr Service...

I am one of your valuable customers who is reading Hindustan times from the childhood. I am staying in New Palam Vihar, Gurgaon, Haryana. For the last four months I am facing problem with the vendor who is distributing newspapers in our area. In February'08 when you were supplying Metro Now copy complimentary with Hindustan times the vendor is charging from us. When I spoke to him regarding this he told me that he will charge and if you want to complain to anybody go and do the complaint. After that he has stop delivering newspapers to our house. Inspite of our repeated request he is not delivering the newspaper at our house and as he is having his monopoly there no other newspaper vendor is ready to deliver the newspaper to our house.

The Agency's Name is Gupta News Agency and the vendor name is Yadhuvir.

Vichare...Positively you should get it on Monday 16.06.08. I have subscribed to hindustan times by the start of march.. till now i havnt received the coupons... The customer care ppl lodge a complaint whenever i call but i dont see any reponse. I have really fired the ppl and have also informed that i would serve a legal notice if not receiving the coupons within a week. i think these ppl have to be dealt leagally to teach what is Customer care!!!

The cheque has been cleared in the month of march itself and also the details of the number of calls could also be got from my bill. Is there anyone who had lodged a complaint or anything??

I am a regular reader of your newspaper, also participated in th HT win contest.
Apperently my name " Anil R" flashed in the 16th June's news paper stating that i had won a lap top for answering the 13th june's question right.

Was very excited about the news and was eagerly awaiting a call.

I tried calling their Mumbai office for assistance just to confirm if i was actually the one who won the prize.People just kept on transferring the phones from one number to other, in some cases i was made to listen to a pathetic prerecorded tune for more than 20 mins, people hung up calls.Later i was given an extension number, which no one has ever picked up.
all the joy of winning a laptop has completely sublimated by now and have decided to discontinue my subscriprion with the newspaper.
The worst part was that out of excitment i shared the news of winning a laptop with almost all of my frients, its been almost a month and they are making fun of me

I fall in the same bracket as all these subscribers, after having subscribed to HT from their inception in Mumbai, in fact, yesterday was my LAST DAY. My poor vendor supplied me till yesterday, without any coupons for almost a year, now I cannot literally 'pester' him anymore, for no fault of his ... in any case, besides HT's laid-back attitude towards its subscribers, even the quality of the English language has started deteriorating over the last many months. So, it's back to The Asian age & the good ole Times of India for me, may you Rest in Peace, HT ! !

Hi !

My name is sanket Vaidya and I had given cheque which cleared on 29th May, Rs.349/= for MINT newspaper(hindustan times) 2 years offer but till today I have not received my coupon.

Whenever I called on their cutomercare number I got reply that "You will receive your coupon within a week time".(Sometimes they said you may receive today or tomorrow)

But after 2 and half months also I haven't received the coupons nor any correspodence from Hindustan Times.

Can anybody tell me after how many complaints against this company, consumer forerum will take action?

Going through all the posts, i get some solace as till date I was thinking myself to be the only victim of Hindustan Times Fraud. The second year coupon is due from April and Customer Care is the most pathetic service I have ever encountered. Last month I had to pay the vendor, and I think the same will be the case for this month.
I don't know of any other city but it seems that Mumbai HT is cheating all its subscribers. Hope the concerned authorities will take a note of this and initiate a fraud case against HT Media

I received the ist year subscrruiption, but after completion of 1st year on 31st August 2008 till today I have not received my coupon for 2nd year which was assured to me by HT and for which i have already paid for it..

I have applied for 24 months subscription of Hindustan Times daily on the month of October 2007 and paid through the local vendor a cheque dated 13/11/2007 Axis bank Branch – Khar W cheque no. 069935 with the amount Rs. 195/- to the name of HT Media. Cheque was cleared on 2nd February 2008. And I received a call from HT Media subscription department regarding the subscription service of the circulation. I was happy about the circulation and was regularly receiving the subscription. 1st of November without informing me the vendor stopped the circulation and saying that he has not received the subscription from the distributor.

I am very much concerned of not receiving the circulation and kindly look into the matter and make available the daily subscription of Hindustan Times daily as early as possible.

Road, 4th Flr, Rno-4 Nr JJ corssing, Mumbai -3, I have renewed the subscription dated 07/05/08, and gave the cheque to the vendor whose vendor id is and he hs deposited the cheque and so far it bein 5 months i have not yet received the coupon and the most interesting part is that twice i have received the call from the Hindustan Times executive indicating that they have received the payment and will send the coupon to the contact address whichis mentioned above, howerer I have been since then for the coupon to reach my place and on regular intervals i hav trying to get in touch with Hindustan times customer care numbers which are 66539200 and 67764242, on both these numbers its just ring no one is answering the phone and i have also confirm with the vendor whether he has received the coupon booklet, he said he did'nt, now i am quit disappointed with the service as this has earlier happened at the the time of registering with Hindustan Times, and i am also confuse where to approach and get this thing sorted out. I dont remember the booklet number, however you can get the details from the name which is mentioned above and if it will be kind enough if you can call me up on [protected] and help me out of this.

Till today 15.10.08 no receipt of Coupons.I had given complain in customer care in September, after insisting so many times lastly they had given me the complain no-HT87592.Vendor stopped the delivery of Newspaper since July and insisting me to pay 7 months of the paper cost.After repeatedly complaining the same to the customer care there was no positive response.They had given me the no. of The Vendor Bhashkar Gaykwad and Sunil Variya but they are not picking up the Phone.i had intimated the same to the HT but no action taken till date and i am still waiting for the Coupon.I will wait for another one month for Max, in case no action is taken I will go to Audit Bureau For sure.

To all Mint subscribers who have not recd. coupons, note that their Executive Mr. Sunil has confirmed that the subscription coupons of the Mint are the property of the vendor delivering the newspaper.

It is amusing to learn that it is just like buying a new car whose warranty paper are retained by the company or opening a bank account whose cheque book is retained by the bank manager.

The company is indulging in unfair trade practice. If the vendor fails to deliver the copy of the MInt who is to be held responsible, the company or the vendor. I am left at the mercy of the vendor
who had collected the coupons on 20/08/2008 without my consent.

on 11/011/08 I had a tele. talk with Bhumika from the customer care dept. of HT who assured me that my coupons would be delivered within 2 days & today Mr. Sunil from the same dept. calls & says that my concern should be the delivery of newspaper & not that of the coupons.

I have realized that this is a trap where unsuspecting readers pay in advance for a subscription not realizing that it nothing short of monetary loss.

Once bitten twice shy, I have decided never to subscribe for any of the HT products in future nor allow any sales representative to put up a stall in our Society. I would rather opt for other english dailies available in Mumbai.

I am a subscriber of Hindustan Times. I had sent a check of Rs. 195 for 2 years subscription of Hindustan Times in Oct 2007. I had received coupons for 2008 (as in from Oct 2007-till Oct 2008), and now that October is over, I will get 2009 year coupons.
However inspite of repeated inquiries i did not receive any update on the coupons. Now even after 2 months. The coupons are not been delivered to me. I have inquired many times through Email but still havent received any reply.
The phone Support is the worst thing to be imagined.

I have paid subscription for one year for HT. But some times we do not receive full pages. Yesterday i.e., on 31-12-08 against 40 pages we were supplied 24 pages and today i.e., 01.01.09 we had received only 28 pages against 36 pages. So what is the fun of subscribing the paper if full copy is not supplied. It gives bad name to the company and the persons playing cheats should be punished. We live in Naya Nangal, Distt- Ropar (Punjab)

Hindustan Times — 2 nd year coupen not received

i have subscribed for hindustan times. 2 year coupen not received.

My reader Id is RADV3509. I had subscribed to your 350 offer - my coupon Serial No. is R159981. It seems I have fully enjoyed the subscripton, since I handed over the 12th month coupon (of the 2nd year?) to my vendor for December 2008.
Do you have any similar offer for renewal. How am I continue my subscription? The vendor could not give me any clue on this.

I had subscribed for HT newspapers almost a year back. Its 07th March 2009 and I have'nt received the coupon booklet yet. Some lady from the HT service center called up to check if I have received the booklet or not, I did inform her about not receiving the same. To which I was assured that the same would reach me within 15 days time. No body bothered to follow up after that.

You guys need to follow up with your customers, but its been the other way round. I spoke to Mario from HT contact center around 2 weeks back. I spoke to Prasanna today, who on confirmation with his manager (Ms.Sandhya Venugopal) he said I would receive the booklet within next 10 days. I just hope that this time I receive the booklet.

Such kind of service was not expected from HT

I had given a cheque for Rs.195/ on 8th Sept. 2007, for a 2 year subscription scheme. Vendor has stopped delivering the newspaper copies after a year.

Payment was made vide Cheque No.701258 dated 8th Sept. 2007 drawn on Indian Overseas Bank for Rs.195/ favouring HT Media Ltd.

I would like to lodge a complain against the vendor because :

1) He used to deliver the paper for a year, maybe, 5 times a week.

2) he has stopped delivering the paper after one year whereas the money paid was for 2 years.

I filed a case against HT and I have own the case. The court has directed HT to pay compensession for harassment.

I paid Rs 199 for 2year subscription, after one year delivery of paper has been stopped. Corresponding vendor has told that it would take time to come the coupons for next year. but how long it would take? Approximately for one month i am not getting newspaper. has hindustan times taken the responsibility to stop the world from making any news so that their reader would not suffer? can you please provide me ph number where I can talk?

It is utterly disgusting to feel that I have been reading such a paper after going through the complaints about non-receipt of news paper even after paying the charges.
I have paid Rs.195/- through cheque but I have not been receiving any paper. Vendor says he has not received the coupons. The staff of the news paper are so thick skinned that they do not react inspite of many calls.

I am a subscriber of Hindustan Times. I had sent a check of Rs. 195(No.659632) for 2 years subscription of Hindustan Times in 26 Jan 2008 Form No.280430. 1st year paper delivery was regular. But for second year, not a single paper delivered to me yet. However inspite of repeated inquiries i did not receive any update on the coupons.

Subscription for Two years contract, but 2nd year coupon due was 31st July, 2009 & not supplied till date


I got two year subscription from Hindustan Times on August, 2007 to till July, 2009, the coupon vide ref. is: R135604 but I have received coupons only for first twelve months i.e. for 2008, and Hindustan times was supposed to send the remaining 12 months coupon at the end of July, 2009. The Second year coupons which I supposed to receive before the month of July, 2009, four months passed but till date I haven’t receive the 2nd year coupon to my Kalyan Address. It’s very difficult to answer to the vendor.

So I have called so many times from July onward to the Customer Care on 67764242 / 67764248. The response from customer care was highly irr-responsible and negligent; they use to repeat the same word that it will be dispatching to my home address within short period, the same voice I was hearing continuously for the last 3.5 month. Initially about 25 days earlier I came to know from customer care that the 2nd year coupon is already available with one Mr. Faiyaz - Area Executive i.e. (M) [protected].


I have contacted many times (Mr. Faiyaz – Area Executive), but there were no such responses, and I could able to speak one Mr. Sachin about the is (R – 135604) coupon. He said that it will be sending within 2 days time, and almost 25 days passed but till date the said coupon has not send it to my home address, I mean to say that they have neglected to do their service/duty as they promised me, according to me they are ignoring their duty and spoiling the companies name, it’s unfair.


I want you to ask one question that being news Paper Company, instead of giving prompt services to the public, how these kind of poor services are provided by the concern staff members?, due to delay of sending/getting the coupon, please note that being a reputed person in the society why I should spoil my name through the vendor?


Keeping in view of the above, you have to take an immediate action to the particular department personnel that why the concern (R135604) coupons not sent so far after completion of four month period? And there would be some remedy of the delays which the staff’s were negligence to do their duties to the respective customers.

Sub : Subscription for HT (Rs.199 offer) not received and facing too many issues with HT's customer service people.

With sheer disappointment I’m writing in.I filled in a form for HT Rs.199 subscription on 24th Dec’09 and gave the form to Gulab Singh.(Form no.632840)along with a cheque of Rs.199 which got cleared frm my a/c on 13th Jan'10.


On repeated follow ups I was told my coupon has been returned due to incomplete address.On discussing it further with HT's executives we found out that the person who had done the data entry at their end missed out on writing the ‘H wing’ in the address while system updation.

The executive who spoke to me assured me that within next 10 days someone will call me and personally come and hand over the coupons to me.That never happened and I called again and spoke to an executive called Jyoti who said within next 4 days someone will come and deliver the coupons.On 2nd & 3rd Feb I spoke to this girl again who said if I have too much trouble I should write in at [protected]@hindustantimes.com.I even wrote this complaint there and nobody has even bothered replying!

Are these ways to harress customers or what is it?

On the other end when I followed up with Gulab Singh,he said he has left the job.He gave me the no.of some Kamlesh who he reported to who asked me to call up some other executive & just refused any help!

I’m thoroughly disappointed and hope and expect someone to change my thinking for HINDUSTAN TIMES.

I need to know when or whether I'll ever get my coupons or have they taken my money only to trouble me like they are troubling many others by not sending the coupons!

I paid Rs.199/- by cheque on 16.10.2009 to Mr. Arun Singh, HT representative, towards renewal of my subscription of Hindustan Times for a period of one year starting from November 1, 2009, vide Form #514383 The monthly coupons for this were to be sent to me soon thereafter, but even after five months I am yet to receive the coupons.

I have already made more than 2 dozen telephone calls to all concerned at HT office, Mumbai - Mr.Arun Singh, Mr. Bhushan, Mr. Mahesh, Mr. Sunil Gaikwad, Mr. Bhaskar Gaikwad, Ms. Zarina, and many others, requesting to expedite delivery of the coupons. Except giving assurances every time, no action, apparently, has been taken by them. I had also sent an email to the Editor, HT, Mumbai on 19.12.09 requesting to look into the matter, without any success. My email dated 4.3.2010 to the Editor in Chief and letters dated 4.3.2010 to the Editor in Charge and Editorial Director, HT, New Helhi too have not yielded an results so far.

Myself has taken the HT subscription on 4rth June2010 but haven't received it yet. And whenever I speak to customer care they always assure coupans will be delivered within a week but it doesn't happen.

Hindustan times is making fool to others. it is not expected from such a big company to do the same.

HT is probably not interested in keeping its readers happy. Their Customer Care Service Department is very poorly managed & its Supervisor level of staff have big egos & high attitudes. They expect you to remember names of their employees and they deny they have never made any calls to you for renewal of subscription. I feel we as consumers/readers/customers of HT need to protest against this attitude of HT and it seems like all our complaints are falling on deaf ears.

I think best is we should stop reading / purchasing HT and let all know how we are being cheated. Lets put it up on all social networking sites and make the citizens of this country aware of the practices being followed by HT.

Just like all of you, I feel I too have been cheated by HT. They made several calls to me on my mobile & landline asking me to renew my subscription. After confirming renewal, they now deny ever calling me and they are asking the vendor to keep delivering the HT paper and charging me for the same.

Their Floor Supervisor (Ms. Sandhya Venugopal) at the Customer Care Centre, has big ego issues and refuse to attend to Customer Calls.

The Customer Care Executive (Ms. Swati Kamble) refuses to transfer the call to the floor supervisor & informs that it is not the duty of the Supervisor to attend to Customer Calls.

Can anyone let me know why are Supervisors employed in Customer Care - if they are not interested in attending to dissatisfied customers. No matter what you do you complaints are gonna fall on deaf ears. So now it is we as consumers/readers, bring this attitude of HT & problems faced by us as consumers/readers of HT to all other people, so that they do not also become victims of HT.

Hindustan Times — Wrong guidance from the sale executive

Dear Sir,

I have taken a HT subscription for 2yrs around nov 2007. I had informed them that I would be out of the country for about an year so for the same reason I cannot take the 2yr scheme. The executive Mr. Bipin Pandey assured me that the date does not matter. No sooner the paper vendor submits the coupons he gets 100/- for the delivery of the previous month. Being assured I take the scheme. Now I am back in the country and is left with 6 coupons of last year which the fail to re issue the upadated coupons. Why as a customer I must bear the consequence of the wrong information of an HT employee.

i am not getting my newspaper i have subscribed to hindustan times newspaper with the from no.961472.i have not got my coupon booklet still. i want an answer and i have subscribed this newspaper on 22/8/10. i had payed 249Rs for it but not getting the newspaper. my subscription cheque no is 63211 and i payed it from my saraswat bank account.i want an answer.

hindustan times is a very bad newspaper because its users are not satisfied with it and i am sorry to say this but it is reality.

I had subscribed for Hindustan times newspaper coupons. Before 4-5 months since we had provided the cheque of Rs 199 /- to executive name Azim Ahmed.

The cheque number is 965981 .It was for abt Rs 199/- of ICICI Bank date. 15/07/2010

Since then there has been no news regarding the coupons.
We had complained several times but there is no response from the hindustan times side .even they not return my cheque or not send coupons also although they have my home address. I got nos. of calls of confirmation but still I am waiting for coupon. One time courier fellow called me & spoke with me confirm everything & told me coupon having with me I deliver tomorrow but he didn’t deliver. I called up so many times but its waste no one responsible person is there.
I guess they are cheating the customers.
I want to know what can be done further.

We had subscribed to Hindustan TImes News Paper "Form No: 4010794 " for one year. Subscription is in the form of monthly coupons to be given to news paper vendor on monthly basis.I promotly called up the customer care on 67764242 / 67764248. The response from customer care was highly irr-responsible and negligent. I have given cheque in the month of july till the date I had not received any coupons from hindustan times. The executive called Mr azim came to my home collected the cheque and went off. Customer care is not responding properly. I'm reading hindustan times since 3 years but i was not known that hindustan times taking money and not giving the coupons. Please do the needful as soon as possible

Hindustan Times Newspaper — Coupons not delivered

I have subscribed for Hindustan Times "news at 195 offer 2007" for 2 years by paying Rs. 195 in advance by cash in 2007. For the first year I received the coupon after certain reminders but for the 2nd year I have been waiting for 2 months and the coupons are still to be received.
Everytime I call the customer care, they require minimum 20 days to address the complaint. After the expiration of the period, when I follow up, again the issue is forwarded and conveyed that it will take few more days. This is a regular scene and when I tried for the 4th time, no one is answering the call.

I think there is no progress being made towards my problem. Pls help

Hindustan Times Newspaper — Non Receipt of Subscription Coupons

Cheque was issued to Hindustan Times vide Cheque No 609731dt 10/03/2008 of Bank of Baroda for Rs 195/- for 2 years Newspapers subscription . The Cheque has been encashed by Hindustan Times . However so far the Coupons have not been recd at our end . We need the Coupons immediately to handover the same to the Newspaper Vendor who has been supplying the Paper religiously without the Coupons .

Hindustan Times — Non-receipt of subscription coupons

I haven;t received my subscription coupons; the application form was received by Hindstan times, Mumbai in 1st week of November 2011. After weekly follow-up in December (4 times), I am still told that I would be receiving it soon.

Pl help me in getting the coupons.

I have subscribed to
1) Hindustan TImes News Paper vide Form No: 269343 for two years and made payment by cheque # 200045 drawn on Dena Bank in favour of H T Media Limited
and also for
2) MINT News Paper vide Form No: 130657 for two years and made payment by cheque # 200046 drawn on Dena Bank in favour of H T Media Limited.

Subscription was in the form of monthly coupons to be given to news paper vendor on monthly basis. Of the two years subscribed I have received coupons only for first twelve months. Hindustan times was supposed to give the remaining 12 months coupon at end of first year term. But Hindustan times did not give the coupon and the vendor has stopped supplying papers. I promotly called up the customer care on 67764242 / 67764248.

The response from customer care was highly irr-responsible and negligent. They said the coupon will be sent directly to the Vendor to which I have objected as I have made the payment and the HT was suppose to handover the coupons to me.

Till date I have not received the coupons nor AI am getting papers for which the payment is already made by me.

So I request the respected body to kindly interven and help me get a favourable compensation from Hindustan times.

i have lost my subscription coupon due to some reasons.so my vendor is asking for the payment for the month he has send me the news paper.for this i had asked mahesh (ht marketing department)(ph no:-[protected])to help me out for this by giving me a duplicate coupon for my lost one.he refused to do so and without giving me a proper response he neglected my phone and cutted it.

Coupons not received after they were dispatched back by the postal department

I've renewed my subscription with Hindustan times for 2 yrs by paying Rs 195 via cheque which has been cleared on[protected] but since then the coupons for the newspaper havent been delivered. I had been getting the HT till May 08 but after that it stopped. When enquired with my newspaper vendor, he said that the coupons are not given to him from Hindustan times and he was giving the newspaper to us for last 8 months without any coupon on friendly ground (as we are one of the his oldest customer). Also, when contacted Hindustan times customer care[protected] /[protected], the call gets disconnect during IVR message. I even tried to send a mail to HT ([protected]@hindustantimes.com) but it was not delivered as the receipents mail box quota was exceeded. I think their is a need of strict action against such negligence.

I paid a amout of Rs.249/- by cheque no.314528 on 27.01.2011 by CSB Bank Kalyan branch for subscription of hindustan times newspaper. I have received coupon for one year at the time of payment. But i have not received coupon for second year so that from April 1 2012 to till dat i have not received paper.
