Poor Service by Pilot Honda – Bhandup service centre, Mumbai, Maharashra, India
Dear Sir/Madam,
I purchased the new Honda Activa 125 Disc on 25th of February 2021 for an amount of Rs.98, 000/-. I wanted to fit a ladies foot rest on to the newly purchased Honda Activa for which the service centre asked me to pay 850Rs. I later found that the same stand was available on Amazon for a price of Rs. 499/- only. Which I purchased and I requested the service centre at Bhandup of Pilot Honda to fix the same on my scooter.
The Manager at the service centre told me that I had to pay an amount of Rs. 175 for fixing the stand on the newly purchased scooter which was just a week old. I told him that the local mechanic was ready to fix the same for 50Rs. Later he agreed to fix at a price of 75rs.
He, said the mechanics were having lunch and has to wait for 2 hrs. I requested to speed up as I had some other work, after few minutes he introduced one guy and said he will fix the same.
This guy took the scooter and started fixing the foot rest. After few minutes I followed the place where the work was carried out. I saw that the person who was fixing was not at all a skilled worker, he was struggling to fix the stand. After waiting for 40 minutes, he said the stand does not fit the scooter as it is of some other model and needs to hammer the chassis to fix it. I told him not to hammer my new vehicle and told him to return the stand and he did the same and closed the job with zero payment.
I brought the stand to a local mechanic who fixed the stand without any hassle and I went back to the Manager and asked him who was that guy who was trying to fix the scooter, he said he was a person from the showroom and not a mechanic.
This is a poor service by Honda, as such inexperienced and unauthorized persons handle our vehicles which we leave with them and trust them to do a better job with our vehicle.
It looked like they were taking revenge of not buying the foot rest from them.
In an another instance, I had left my old Activa with Pilot honda Bhandup for some repair work and requested them to consider servicing my active under the AMC taken during covid period and for which I felt some service was left over. He agreed and said it will be considered. Later when I went to pick the vehicle I saw a bill amount of Rs.550 added saying it was a paid service as the AMC had ended long back and no service was left.
The Pilot honda service centre did not even bother to call me and ask if the service had to be carried out on payment basis or not. They simply did some repair and replacement work and charged me 1000 plus Rs.
It looks like the service centre is not there for giving good service to the trusted brand like Honda, whereas it is just a business to extract money from the customers.
Overall poor service by Honda. We trust the brand honda and service centres like the one quoted just extract money without giving good service. I had witnessed many more customers fighting for some or the other issues faced by poor service at the service centre.
Kindly look into this seriously.
