This is to inform you that I had a personal loan with your bank ( Ac. No.[protected]. I had received a letter from your end (Ref. No. : FFS/PIL/WOFF/CTM/NCM/FINCON/23042009/239, Dt. 23 April, 2009) for settlement with Rs.16000/- and settled the account by giving a DD (No. 486568 of PNB,Dt.28.04.09) of Rs.16000/-. After that I have received all my cheques which was lying with your bank along with a full and final settlement letter( Ref. No. DAL/PLB/COLL/IE , Dt. May,09).
After one year of all this , again I have received a letter from your Manager-Debt Management , (Ref. No. NIL, Dt. 25.06.10) stating that I have an outstanding balance of Rs. 35,315.19 with you. This is really ridiculous . I cannot imagine such a so called prestigious organization like yours can do such an awful irresponsible mistake and harass customers.
Expecting your immediate clarification.

      Dear all,

banks like hsbc, barclays etc seem to truly milking and harassing indian customers. Here is some startling data from Annual Report of 2208-09 of RBI Ombundsman.
Ombundsman handles complaints of consumers against banks in India.

      here is data:-
26% of all complaints against banks were credit card related.

In case of Public Sector banks 17.8% of all complaints were credit card related.

BUT IN CASE OF FOREIGN BANKS, 49% (YES 49%) OF ALL COMPLAINTS AGAINST THEM WERE DIRECTLY RELATED TO CREDIT CARDS. THIS IS INCREDIBLE NUMBER.
AMONG FOREIGN BANKS, BARCLAYS WAS WORST WITH 55% OF ALL COMPLAINTS BEING CREDIT CARD RELATED.

NEXT CHAMPION WAS HSBC. 50% OF ALL COMPLAINTS AGAINST HSBC WERE DIRECTLY RELATED TO CREDIT CARDS.

THIS IS A MONSTROUS SITUATION. WHAT EXACTLY IS GOING ON?

I WILL BE GRATEFUL TO ANYBODY WHO WILL TELL US THE REAL SITUATION. LET US ALL COLLECT INFORMATTION AND FIGHT TOGETHER.

What I observed is that these so called foreighn banks are looting Indians' money by following unethical means. They are charging 43 to 45 % interest per annum. They say it is 3.5% permonth. What they do is they calculate interest in the name of finance charges on daily balance basis and add to the existing Principal next day they charge 3.5% including previous days finance charge which tantamounts every day compound interest. They say that they recover 5% of the total outstanding balance. Actually it is not correct, this 5% recovery includes finance charges service tax and penalty for late payment. Thus the principal recovered at 5% is not correct. This way they will get more finance charges as the principal recovered is very less utstanding is more. They add to the principal the finance charge which will be the Principal for next day. They never say all thses facts and we can say that all these are hidden charges. In the recently passed bill by US Government on credit cards, the bank shoild specifically tell the customer that the amount outstanding will be recovered by a particular date.No such rules in India.(Mouliswar)

HSBC Credit Card — Harrasment by HSBC personnel

I was holding a HSBC credit Card in Apr/ May 2008, I had once used this card and made the payment as i recd. the bill. After that i have not used the card anymore. And no other correspondence was done from HSBC. But from last two months, i am continously receiving calls from HSBC collection centre for payment of an outstanding amount, when i ask them to send the statement, they said that your card has been blocked and statement cann't send to me. I said that without the statement, how can i make the payment of around 3000 Rs. The person Avneet from Delhi branch continously calls me and at my home landline also. He talks loosely and abuses a lot any day, anytime. when we try to call him on the no. from where he calls, HSBC people say there is no person by this name.[protected],[protected]

Please suggest me what to do and help me.
same problem with me for hsbc credit card
dont worry reply as rudely as u can they cannot do anything
Even I got the call from [protected] stating that he is Sub Inspector Mr. Satish Nair working at Hyderabad head quarters and asked me to call a Lawyer by name Krishna Murthy on [protected] to talk. Please make sure you dont harras us as we
are already suffering because of lost job. When issuing the Loan or credit card you enquire many times about our job and then issue us the amount. Then why dont you understand that we cannot pay until we retain our job. Please HSBC, do understand our Parents are no way concerned nor even aware of our Loan, and you dont have right to recover from them as you never asked them as surity.
Even I also got the same kind of call from [protected] stating that he is Sub Inspector Mr. Satish Nair working at Hyderabad head quarters and asked me to call a Lawyer by name Krishna Murthy on [protected] to talk.
I called him and he introduced himself as an advocate and legal adviser for HDFC bank, and i have to attend at secunderabad court on 17-12-10 which is a public holiday (Moharrum) since the warrant issued on me was non bailable.
He saying i've sent three summons to my AP address (Now i am not in AP) and you were not responded for them, thats why we the case has been filed and issued the arrest warrant. I asked him what should i do now as i dont have much time, Then said i can give you two options, the first one is you proceed through the court and you will be in remand for 15 days and have to pay Rs.95, 0000/- or deposit Rs.35, 000/- today itself.
I said how can i deposit such a huge amount immediately and without any proper evidences. Then he said OK you deposit Rs.15, 000/- tomorrow and remaining amount within an week and also he said, i will send a mail to my client (HDFC) and you can do as he said. Friends I dont know what to do, if you know any solution about this please mail me. I am ready to repay the outstanding payment the bank, but how can i trust these people as already having such complaints. Please suggest me if you have any solution.
Its their procedure of collecting due amount...U should ask them the case number and inquire it in court, if you have any advocate friend/relative practicing in same court (where the case has filed).(Result : No case must be there). For nonpayment of Credit Card bill NO CRIMINAL CASE can be filed against you...For saving yourself from these types of harassment You can do settlement with them by paying some amount.
(DON'T DO ANY SETTLEMENT WITHOUT THE NOC FROM BANK)
Actually I got a call from this number[protected] today. He said, he is calling from some courier company n there is a courier from my x company. He quoted my old home address n asked whether he can send it to my new address. I gave him n address as I was in a hurry but later realized dat I cann't expect courier from my x company 3 years after i left it. They even cannt hav my phone number which i got few months before. even calling that number remains unanswered. Plz plz..tell me what to do???

My daughter was a student hwen she delayed payment on her HSBC credit card.
After innumerable meetings we were given a letter which said she should pay 22500 RS ( though the CIBIL amount mentioned earlier was 15000 rs) by 17 Nov 07 .We paid the amount by cheque that was passed and to date they have not removed her name from the list.
They have also not given us a letter in spite of reminders because a Mr Syed who was in charge left the job.Mr Girish Kesavamurthy who introduced himself as a Senior manager too is unavailable.
I wish to file a complaint against the bank who promised her name would be removed. Moreover her name was added even as we were negotiating for settlement which I think reflects badly on the banks stance of threatening clients.

            Hi Sir,

I am a Credit card account holder of HSBC Bank and also have a Savings/FD account relationship with them for the last 10 years(approx).

Around 5 years back, I had received an additional credit card from the bank without any demand from my side.

Around that time only, I had placed a request to cancel the card to which no action was taken by the Bank. By mistake, I had used this additional card once for an amount of around Rs 2000/-.
As I shifted my residence to Pune, I could not receive the bills for this amount.

Though there were no standing instuctions from my side for auto-debit/ECS on the above mentioned card, yet the bank recovered the outstanding(and much much more) from me through automatically debiting my savings account and then card was closed three years back.

Even though the outstanding recovered and the card was closed 3 years back, last month there was an auto debit of Rs 21000/- from my bank to this credit card account and there is no money left in my savings account. The current card(that I have been using) has a ECS instruction set but becuse there is no money left, they are not able to debit my savings account. I am getting many calls daily even on weekends regarding the due payment.

I keep on telling them that the request has been placed by me to the bank to look intio the issue and the banking executives have reassuerd to me that they are looking into the matter. Yet the credit card people dont listen and keep on calling. I am getting very harrased. This has also spoilt my credit image.

I request you to look intio the matter and do the needful. My PAN number is AEVPG1764J. Pls.let me know if any additional info is required.

            With Regards,

            Hi,

I have a Credit Card of HSBC Bank. My issue is that this bank linked my Credit Card with a insurence policy of Bharti Axa Lif Inssurence without informing. When I got a certificate from insurence company, immediately contacted HSBC Bank. I informed them regarding this issue. They suggested me to contact insurence to cancel this policy. I did same and that company told me that it is alredy cancelled without giving me any proof. HSBC Bank is saying your Card is also cancelled but they are calling every month to deposit some amount (Rs. 6500) and they are adding interest on this amount everymonth. I am realy fed up with this issue but they are not interested to resolve it inspite of informaing them several time.
I am completely agreeing with the problem this gentleman is facing.

It is the worst scenario when you show mercy towards credit card sellers and opt for it even if you don’t require. You give them your all the details and then their recovery people chase you like anything. They do not hesitate to threaten you on the phone.

In my case, they are continuously calling me for the payment of Rs. 6000/- for the uses. I can’t understand that till date even I have not signed my credit card without which it is invalid and how come the charges applied.

This kind of cases need to be publicized to make people aware of the bank which are involved in this kind of practices.
Please allow me to introduce myself my name is Michael Mason-Mahon and I am a shareholder of HSBC Plc. I am based in London yet I am a very regular visitor to India.

At HSBC Annual General Meeting of Shareholders 2010 I did address my concerns with the Board of Directors concerning what HSBC India has been doing and is doing in India to our customers.

I may be able to help you. I can assure you that I will do all that I can to help you. I have been very successful in the people that I have taken up their cases with HSBC. Now they will not let me help anymore Indian's. You may wonder why, ask the Chairman of HSBC Plc Mr Flint why.

Please go to this site. This is an interview that I did concerning HSBC.

            http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...

If customers UNITE in India and decide to leave HSBC India in support of their fellow Indian's, who are making complaints about HSBC India then this may make HSBC Plc take action.
They talk about their Global Footprint and their Integrity. Please look at the following sites and see what the Indian people are saying about HSBC behaviour towards them.

            http://www.consumercomplaints...

            http://www.consumercomplaints.in/?search=HSBC+Bank

Now ask yourself is this the Bank for you in India.

So if you would like to contact me and send me your phone number I will call you personally.

            Kind regards

Sir i am holding HSBC visa card under name of jayant rajvanshi. Last year i have taken card protection plan for one year. But this year without my consents they have renewed and imposed CPP charges in my card statement.
(For your intormation my credit around Rs. 250 was lying with them).I sent mail to them regarding my disapproavl about the CPP and after my regular follow up i received one call from CPP that 50% amout has been reveresd and 50% i have to pay. Sinc i did not deposit the CPP renewal charges HSBC has imposed late fee charges which is not justified.
This is kind of harassment with the card holders. This is not first time.

Earlier HSBC and Tata Aig made a fraud with me three years back. And i lost my Rs. 25000/- in their some SIP plan. They have drawn Rs. 25000/- form my credit card account without my consents. I have wrote many mails to them but no action has been taken so far. They are so unreliable organizations and gulping hard earned money of Indian people. Your extra attention is requested in this regard.
I can speak all this thing infront of media.

Please help me and save Indian people.

              Thanks and regards.

I have stopped using their gold card and asking them to return my credit lying with them but instead of that they have charged annual fee while i wrote them many mails to cancel my card. I left no choice accept to go to consumer court.

                Dear Sir,

I am Vikrant Joglekar and have a very similar experience with HSBC credit card.HSBC has issued me a gold card with xxxx xxxx xxxx 1640 in 2006 promising about a life time free card which I do have used for less than a year, I used to pay the bills well in time till I was using the card. Being an IT professional I moved of the country for some time and stopped using the card.
In Dec 2007 when I was back in India I recived few calls from HSBC saying for some 2000/- as the dues when I checked with them what are the dues for they have not given any satisfactory answer to this I requested them to revert if any annual fees they have leveied on me as it was a life time free card. I also have spoke to there manager from chennai and asked him to cancel the card with immidiate effect as I am not using the same.
Due to my professional requirements I have again moved out of India and have not heard from the HSBC over these years assuming the issue is closed.
Recently I recived a legal notice from HSBC on my parents address stating that they are going to proceed with legal criminal action against me due to non payment of 18000/-
I really cannot understand the fraudulant behaviour of the HSBC, it is very harassing and torturus to get such notices where in HSBC thmeselves have commited a fraud and breach of trust against me.
Please help me in this issue

                With Best Regards,

                    Hi,

I am having HSBC Gold credit card. since last 4-5 days, I am getting calls from some collection agency of HSBC from Gurgaon location from the no.[protected] regarding my outstanding payment. Every time, I am giving them information about payment that payment would make before 26th-June-10 to all different guy on phone. even after that they just keep calling me atleast 10 times everyday. Once I have given the information or commitment, they should not call me everyday so many times. My HSBC payment due date is 26-June-10. Today, It is happened that one male guy called me up from same agency and I told him that I already given time line for payment made then why you guys calling me atleast 10 times in a day everyday. Then, that guy started speaking in so unprofessional language and harsh language, that I hardly beard it. I warn him as well not to speak in such language but he doesn't stop speaking. I contacted HSBC Customer Care, so they given me some head office contact no. of collection Agencies for such complaints. I contacted there then that lady asked me to contact Customer Care to register complaint for such case. I asked that guy's name while he was speaking in harsh language, he disconnected the call without telling me his full name and agency name.

Finally HSBC customer care not registering the complaint against this and the Office of Collection agencies might not take any action.

Request you, please arrange to initiate some action against these guys.

                    Thanks,

                    Yatendra Kumar

This agent from HSBC credit card section is truly unruly, Doesnot know how to communicate with customers even for money reasons.
She has been harassing me since morning with number of phone calls and also used unofficial words.

Hi! Have you received your card already? I have the same sentiments too. Actually, I got a text from them last 10June that the application was approved and to wait for 10banking days for delivery. It's almost 2months later, and I still haven't received my card and everytime I ask for an explanation, they give me different ones from can't locate billing address, recipient restriction, no further instructions for address relocation, etc., it even came to a point when THREE CSRs couldn't answer my queries anymore. Not that I'm in desperate need of the credit card, but 45 banking days of waiting is just wrong and unreasonable. This is a problem so serious HSBC should start resolving it.
I have the same experience with HSBC. It has been two months since i was approved yet my credit card has remained undelivered. I even set up a scheduled dispatch with their CSR twice to no avail. Whenever I e-mailed them for follow up they only say its on transit. Even my last e-mail asking them to just have my credit card canceled was replied with "Your credit card is in transit please wait 10-15 banking days..."
These incidents show that they don't have the capacity to provide a good customer service because to not even effectively addressed a courier incapability to deliver the credit card in the appointed time for two times reflects a failure in your customer relations.
i have the same problem, my credit card application was approved last oct.25, i was advice to wait for 10 banking days as well, but my credit card had not been delivered yet..

But last few days I have received a over dues call from your Bank side by Miss Poonam Gulati who behave very badly to me and my wife in her Words CUSTOMER ARE ALWAYS WRONG it means all the person who deal with your bank are fools and make great mistake to deal with your bank. Can you confirm me is it a right way to talk with your customer. I have already taped her all wrong arguments. It seems very bad for your Bank.

I faced two major problems from your Bank
 In your Executive Words your Bank letter Head has no value even it is signed by the Senior Authorities.
 Your Executive Miss Poonam Gulati makes more than one wrong arguments on me. Which are not tolerable?

Both these conditions force me to go the consumer court against you.

That executive was from collection department and don't have sense to talk with references, If really somebody gave my name.. They don't have any right to threaten me at any cost. Respected Sir/Madam,

I had used a card a long time before. I had also cut the card into pieces and submitted in the drop Box with an application to stop the card. I had spent an amount of Rs 14000/- and was regularly paying. But for the last two years and half years i didnot recieved any Statements from their side. They used to call and say that there is some due in the card to be payed. Everytime i had asked for statement they had the same answer that after the payment made the statement will be given. But it never hapened. Sir till November 2008 i have paid for the card but when i calculated i found that i have paid around 26000 or more. Now when i recieve a call from their side i straight away ask for the statement from the first day of my usage via mail. But the answer that i recieve everytime is that we cannot provide you statement of so old date. Sir i dont stay at my residence due to tranferable job. My parents stays back there. My mother and father are verry ill. My Mother is a patient of Hypertention. Now these peoples are calling and threatning them that they will send peoples to the residence. I used to own HSBC credit Card # [protected]. Due to some personal reasons I was not able to make payment. Than I got a call from Neeta Singh (working with HSBC), she informed that the bank is ready to settle the amount @ Rs 11,400, in case I make minimum payment of Rs 1,000 right away and rest Rs 10,400 in the next month. I aggreed and made the payments as asked, and got a letter from on Bank's Letter Head that the credit cards dues are settled and @ Rs 11,400 and I would receive an NOC letter in due course. Even After 3 months I did not receive any NOC, and again got a call from HSBC stating that I need to pay Rs. 3,000 as I paid Rs. 10,400 against settlement so Rs. 1000 due and rest is the interest amount on it. I explained them the whole case, but they said that their settlement manager Neeta Singh has just FOOLED me to get Rs. 10,400, and I need to pay Rs. 3000 if I want to close the case else they won't issue any NOC and won't clear my CIBIL record for the same.

Can you please suggest what should I do.

please do not make any payment now. you call to the customer care of HSBC and tell them the incidents happened. you may have to fax the settlement letter to their Bombay office.
abe saale agar letter mil gaya hai settlement ka aur tune time pe payment bhi kar diya hai to fir kahe ka tension.

Gaand mai danda kar de hsbc ke - rbi ko mail kar settlement copy ke saath - hsbc ka banking licence cancel ho sakta hai because ye fraud hai

Any one who wants to settle the account regarding credit cards must get the settlement letter first - become shameless to the abuses, bad languages of these recovery agent, call police if they threaten - as per rbi rules they cannot use unparliamentary language.

Tell them point blank you would not pay if you get the settlement letter first. Get the settlement letter and pay by cheque then get the noc and write the cheque no and get phone no of the collection agent.

I am sure by one year or so rbi will come up with some kind of rules that will waive of these small settlements may be less than 10k of actual purchase from the cibil list.

Till then simply [censored] these recovery agents and banks - saale kuch nahi kar sakte maadharchod wo -

I had registered for this HSBC premium circle program based on the promises made on the call early 2010. However when it come sto realization of vouchers offered there has been a pathetic response by Heritage holidays, who i understand is responsible for flight/ hotel booking.

Firstly they never tell you the segments & the hotels in the program when they make the offer an dthen you are left to somehow realize the offer with the VERY limited options available.

I have been in touch with Heritage Delhi office staff for my flight booking. And for my month old request of April 27th today they refused to book the flight tickets stating there was no availability. For the last 10 days the response hence been your booking is done, but the mail server is not working. They claim to have made reservations for my request , but i dont know on whose request they have made the reservations as it is not as per the voucher/my email.

Needless to mention, this has been a very frustrating experience.

I have been calling them up for last 2 weeks everyday – to confirm about the same but have been always given a non confirmatory reply.

Needless to mention, this has been a very frustrating experience.
I agree with the Complainant. The service is pathetic. The paltinum5 Premium offer of HSBC Bank Credit card offer is a fraudulent offer. They make so many tall promises when they call you up but when you get to know details, it will be too late as the options are very limited. In fact, regarding hotels and resorts, they say that it is 4 star and 5 star but they are not. For example, recently, I stayed in a Resort called Logoa Azul in Goa on self expense which is one of the resorts selected under this programme of Premium offer. This resort is NOT a 4 star one. Rather, this is not a resort which deserves any star. Similarly, there are many conditions and terms and very stupid policies they have which makes the offer useless most of the time. Like, there are restrictions on utilization offer like some months depending on places are excluded during which you can not utilize your voucher. Another funniest thing for example is you can fly Kolkatta to Hyderabad and from Hyderabad to Kolkatta, but You can not fly Hyderabad to Kolkatta and Kolkatta to Hyderabad on which point I am still fighting with them.

The whole scheme looks like a scam orchestrated by HSBC Bank in connivance with some private company. I am soon lodging a complaint on this with HSBC Bank or its banking ombudsman and if no satisfactory reply is received, I am thinking to complain it to RBI. I am not sure and do not know if there will be anything positive, but I think we must try not to let this scam happen.

Another irritating aspect is their call center heritage. Most of the time, they do not receive the calls despite phone ringing, and ask in typical Hindi accent and in a very monotonous sound and frequently say 'Haan ji' in Hindi without anything caring about whether the person calling knows Hindi.

We must protest against this corporate scam.

                                  Dear All,
Today, I received an email from Heritage Group/Plat5 Consultancy in relation to my Ticket Bookings. I had already paid Rs. 6055 on 30th January, 2010 by debit of my credit card amount. At that time, I was promised to give a watch worth INR 4000/-, a two nights three days stay in some resorts which I choose from the list and to and fro air ticket to certain destination. At that time, I was not told any extra payments required to be done. However, when I got a reply for ticket booking Hyderabad-Delhi and Delhi-Hyderabad, I was told to email an authorization to Heritage Holidays to bill Rs 5, 640/- ( Rs 5, 640/- towards Airport Tax/Surcharges ) on my HSBC credit card.
I not only got a shock but almost fainted by looking at such a massive fraud.
I have replied them saying that I will not authorize them to debit my credit card account and not to proceed with the ticket booking. I am also contemplating to initiate legal actions against HSBC Bank, and Heritage Group.

Another absolutely disgusting thing about them is that it looks they are shortage of men power or have been crowded with cheap labour in the markets who do not have enough energy to respond calls. Even when phones are ringing, no one picks up the phone and bothers to respond. It happens 9 out of 10 times and this will make a really frustrating experience to you.
We must protest against this corporate scam.

                                    Hi Team.

I have closed my HSBC credit card by making the payment and then i called their call center
and they accepted to close my card.
                                    afer the card closure.

There was no communication between me and hsbc.
Suddenly after 2 years i get a statement from them asking me to pay 10,000 rs
as they say its the late payment and finance charges that has been accumulated in my card .
i really dont undestand that how can they put the late payment when the card is closed.
i ask them the detail they send me the outstanding.
i have been mailing them every day.
they reply me with the outstanding amount.
they do not provide me any details.

i completely remember that there was no outstanding as i have taken loan fro other bank and paid for this credit card.

and it was the perfect amount that i have paid 2 years back.
as i was fed up with HSBC s hidden charges.

They have laid a trap for me and they have spoilt my credit history in the cibil account.
please find my credit card number and other details below.

My father holding the primary card of HSBC Bank and I Jitendra Goklani holding the supplementary card (add on card). My father is died on 27/5/08. Their is an outstanding balance on the primary card at the time of death of my father.

The bank has transfered the outstanding amount against my name in CIBIL and show me as defaulter in CIBIL records.

As per rules of the credit Card " PRIMARY CARD HOLDER IS THE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE OUTSTANDING OF PRIMARY CARD AS WELL AS THE SUPPLEMENTARY CARD".. But the HSBC Bank changes the rules by itself and make supplementary card holder is the responsible for the primary card holder .

                                      Kindly advice what to do.

                                        Address: Ahmedabad, Gujarat

I have been communicating with HSBC since 1 month and every 5th day they mail for another 5 working days to resolve my issue.
Below is my entire data alongwith communication made with HSBC on Mail :
HSBC hav issued 2cards in my name one which i have been using since 2006 & 1 which I hv never used and hv been receiving the statments.
Nw when i went for the Home loan I came to know that they hv givin my name in CIBIL.
I'm surprised when HSBC himself is not confident about my credit hw come my current credit card is working. ANd by their such action I have been in to lot of pressure as I have already paid mybuilder a partial amount...

It is really disgustting, irritating & pathetic for such an MNC bank...

Kindly advice what should I do next to get the loan.

                                        Dear Sir / Madam,

I have been a regular user of your HSBC credit card no. [protected] with annual transaction of nearly 2 to 2.5 lakhs. And have been using since long.

But, I have been reciving calls & statments of Credit card no. [protected] mentioning a long due amount. And this case has been further you have given to CIBIL whereby it has affected my credit in reciving the Home Loan. It was really insulting to know this.

I'm really surprise what kind of Bank it is because when I'm already using one of your credit card how come you guys take such action. If you yourself are not confident on my credit why my current credit card is working since 2006. This seems to be atiierly harashing a customer who has been faithfull to you regular in paying payments & still see such days. It is really pathetic & shameful for banks like HSBC who can't trust or judge the right customers.

Would appreciate to take immediate action on the above & take necessary action to remove my name from CIBIL. Also, would like to cancel all your dues & card for credit card no.[protected], As I'm nowhere associated with this card.

                                        Awaiting for the immediate response..
