I had purchased the subject HP Desktop Model Presario 3670IL on 27th February, 2009 from
Checkmate Computers Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai -400 092.

Though it is more than 3 months, I have still not received the free gifts viz.HP Alli One Printer (F4288)
+ UPS till date though I was informed that the gifts will be received witin 6-8 weeks.

The processing chares of Rs. 999/- was paid by me through cheque which was been debited to my account.

I received an SMS indicating the File No. as 96601 and that it is under process.

May I therefore request you to expedite forwarding the gift items viz. Printer + UPS immediately since
I am greatly inconvenienced in my day to day work.

Dear Sir,
I have purchased Compaq Presario Desktop Computer Model SG3630IL
S.No. INA904038Z under the scheme NOW OR NEVER DESKTOP Offer
from M/s Silicon Solutions, Sai Baba Chowk, Metro Road, Rohini, Delhi
on 21FEB2009. As per the scheme I have sent all the relevant documents
and DD of Rs.999/-to your Chandigarh Office under Redemption Code
No. 0X5MB7CELC on 26FEB2009. Accordingly, I was allotted Redemption
No.DNH-639208 under File No.80627.
On 19APR2009 I received e-mail from Innovative Support that they were
Unable to trace the record & accordingly I sent all details thru e-mail on
21.4.2009. I have received acknowledgement stating that my gift would
be sent on 5.5.2009. I waited till 10May2009 & sent a e-mail & then they
wanted all the details which I again sent.
As of date I have not received any intimation as to when I would receive
the gift.

HP all in one printer — NON RECEIPT OF HP ALL IN ONE PRINTER

Dear Sir, I had purchased a desktop computer and my file number is 76987 for redemption o[censored]PS and printer. I received an UPS as sent by you in july'09. Thenafter I received s SMS that vide ducket number[protected] my printer has been despatched vide ELBEE courier. After 17 days I have track the status of my consignment on internet then I was surprised to saw it that printer was delivered. Thenafter 4 days of it a person from courier company came to me for delivery of above printer. I found that printer was damaged then I call to HP redemption centre, chandigarh on phone number [protected] but could not contacted thenafter I call to ELBEE customer care mumbai on phone number [protected] in presence of that person they said to me to return the printer and fress printer will be delivered.
Sir, I would also like to draw your notice tat after 2 days of above circumstance I received call from ELBEE courier from Bhopal office from phone number [protected] to received the above damaged printer and they also told to me to pay a lump sum of Rs. 300/- to courier man. Sir, It is fault of courier company to mishandle the item and why I will pay any 300/- to courier company to receive above damaged printer.
Sir, there is a goodwill and reputation of HP company and Elbee courier company bleming all the fault and responsibility on HP, they also told that HP has despatched damaged printer, sir it is prove of fraudness of Elbee that without delivery of above printer the status was displated on internet that printer was delivered.
Therefore you are requested to to kindly arrange to send my above gift printer in OK condition and courier except than Elbee.
Hoping your early action in this regard.

I agree that dude... It took 7 months for them to deliver the printer and 3 months for the UPS.. They never keep up the lead time as promised.. But keep on sending them e-mails to innovative support (Chandigarh) and they will keep you updated about the status :)

    I have bought a laptop product compaq C795-TU & product serial no. CND828114Q under gift scheme. We have deposited the cheque amount of Rs. 1299 on dated Mar 11 2009 through cheque which has been approved by hp redemption cell on 13th of march. As per company policy and terms & condition they have commited to deliver within 4 to 6 weeks.


    After sending a lot of mails, i got a reply from them on 19th of April 2009 as follows

    The delay in gift delivery is very common. Untill they donot have in stock they will kill time. You pl. keep track record of DD delivered by courier and scanned image of invoice. Send them regularly by mail then they will send.

    so my many friends advice is never purchase anything from redaers digest,india today club,as they lure people by saying to enetre you in sweepstakes etc,but sweepstake results are well managed internally and they totally publish wrong names of wweepstake winners,so boycott reders digest and india today with consumer complaints and indian govt. should intervene to ban reders digets and india today malpractices..

      I would like to inform you about the gas regulator which is not operated properly as while installing new cylinder connection the gas likes heavily once it is put on. Even after repeated complains about this matter the the technicians just attend it and replaces some parts (brass valves etc.) charges heavy bills and rectifies it temporarily and again same problem continues next time.It is therefore requested to replace the regulator which is faulty.

      H P — Non -Delivery of Cylinder From 15 days.

      Sir,
      I M. L.Trimukhe consum no.604580 booked the cylinder at Bardekar Gas Agency, Rukhmini nagar on 17/03/2008. I had repetadely reminded for supply of cylinder on Landline & mobile nos.[protected], [protected], [protected])but no response was received.
      Sir, the HP 's slogan is take delivery with in 24 hours However due to some reasons the delivery may be delayed a week or might be two week.It is well understood . In this case more than 15 days are over, but no cogniscance was taken nither no proper distribution Nothing could be understand.
      You are requested to look in to the matter personelly & do the needful.

      Sir, I purchase a HP desktop in June 2007 at Delhi.         Dear Manager

        I have registered about problem of LCD Panel of my HP Compaq nx 7300 Laptop(Ref No.-[protected]) and was promised to get replaced within three working days.
        But service center does not mean three working days actually. I got a message that part has been ordered but still I have not received any further communication from the people. It is not matter of delay but the inconvineance and the sense of irresponsibility of the the concerned people. kindly look for the matter ASAP.

        HP Compaq Nx7300 — sucking service of hp centres. too much delay in their service. still waiting for my parts..

        i am college student dong b-tech in Chandigarhi had taken a compaq nx7300 model laptop but it a got a crack on its left hinge. i went to hp centre chandigarh.they registered a complaint and said we wil inform you in 4 or 5 days when we wil get your product. but i am still waiting for my product. their service is too unpredictable. my friends got the same work done in 4 days and i am waiting for over a month.
        thanks for the time ..its really been getting irritating now.. its been getting over a month now... its really disappointing. who can help me..

        HP/nx7300 — NO PARTS ????

        Hi,

        It is very unfortunate that i am writing a complaint to one of my favourite companies.
        But i must bring this to your notice that the kind of response i got from your service centers is heart breaking.

        I own a nx7300 GM 665 PC, serial no. CNU7191X94. Being a part of the bulk purchase by ICFAI hyderabad, i understand it is not a commercial model. The LCD base cracked and ripped out on basic usage of open and close i was told that many complaints & replacements have been made for this model.

        On 28th Feb. 2009, i deposited my system (without the hard disk and power cable) for LCD replacement at a HP authorized service center - R.T Outsourcing Services Ltd. at Chandigarh. As the extended warranty lasts in March 2010, they accepted it and gave me a time period of 3 to 4 days.
        [SERVICE CENTER CASE LOG - Application No. 2825]

        It is 14th march and i am going to Hong Kong in 2 weeks. Everyday i keep getting a message from them saying the part is not available. My query is that its 15 days and how much time does a part take to be shipped even if its at the remote most place?

        Kindly look into the matter because the only response i get from the service center is that they are waiting for the part. Please don't change my perception about the Brand you hold, and force me to phase out the idea of buying an HP in future.

        HP Compaq Nx7300 — INEFFICIENCY at HP at its HEIGHT

        Take this seriously, failing which HP might be in trouble. Many problems or say compliments for the entire HP TEAM:

        1. My laptop's (NX7300) power strip buttons aren't working fine. There is a problem when I make my laptop on sleep/hibernation. The display screen goes black but the laptop is still working. So everytime I have to shut it down.
        2. CD drive works intermediately. Sometimes it detects the CD and sometimes not. Even when the CD is detected, it doesn't work on my laptop, though it is working fine on others'.

        I am currently in Hyderabad. I went to HP's Somaji Guda office in Hyd., registered a complaint with the authority on 27th June, Saturday, for the aforementioned problem. They promised to return my notebook on 30th June, Tuesday. On 30th June, when I rang them up in the evening I got to hear that nothing has been done on my laptop and they are waiting for some new parts to come to their office from Bangalore and they will return back my laptop latest by 1st July.

        Though I was in urgent need of my notebook, I still gave them a day more to resolve the problem thinking it would be done properly this time. On 1st July I had to catch up with my friends for Coorg (a hill-station in Karnataka) which the authority was well-informed of.

        I called up the same office at around 12 noon and what I got to hear was: "SIR, WE HAVEN'T YET WORKED ON YOUR PROBLEM. THE PARTS WHICH WE RECEIVED WERE DEFECTED. WE HAVE REQUESTED FOR A NEW MOTHER-BOARD FOR YOUR LAPTOP AS WE JUST NOW FOUND OUT THAT YOUR LAPTOP'S MOTHER-BOARD IS CORRUPT. IT WILL TAKE US ANOTHER 2-3 WORKING DAYS."

        Hearing this I gave a hard knock to the call-receiver and then she immediately promised me to deliver my laptop latest by the day's end. After an hour only a lady called me up from the HP centre saying that the problem has been resolved and they have replaced the mother-board also. I told them that I will collect it at around 7 pm.

        When I went to the service centre, the person who addressed my complaint was in so much hurry that he wasn't even allowing me to check whether the problem has been resolved or not. He asked me to hurry up since the office hours are over, even though officially the closing time is 8 pm. I found something suspicious and switched on my laptop. I found out that nothing has been done and the problem is still there. When I told him this thing, he said that the technician has gone and nothing can be done now. At last I had to shout at him and then he went in some technical room to ask about the problem from some engineer. Again he made me wait for around 20 mins even when he knew that I was getting late. Forcibly I had to enter that engineer's room to see what is going in over there.

        At last from that engineer I got to know that nothing has been done on my laptop, CD drive problem hasn’t been addressed and the mother-board is still the same. I asked those people to make me contact their Manager. They didn’t tell me his name and said that he is not in office right now. But somehow I found out that the Manager was sitting in the next room. I thought atleast he would consider my problem but again NO RESPONSE TO CUSTOMER’S PROBLEM.

        He was acting very lethargic and so involved in his own work that even when I told him the entire stuff and showed him the problem, he didn’t take it seriously, instead was backing his office people by saying that the problem will be resolved only if I cooperate and give them 2-3 days more. He hardly seemed to be interested in what has actually happened. Thinking of lodging a complaint for what has happened, I asked him to name the technician, the man who attended me in person and the lady who called me up in the evening.
        The manager, Mr. K. SRINIVAS refused to divulge the names even after asking for it 10 times. From the security guard I got to know that the technician’s name is Mr. Manoj and the lady who called me up is either Miss GEETA or Miss JOSHNA. After all this I had to walk out of your service centre empty-handed. And just because of this I couldn’t go with my friends and I had to miss some of my office meetings so that I could collect my laptop on time.
        Please do make up for the losses and the inconvenience caused to me by your people asap. Either my problem should be addressed within a day or I will have to take some serious action against the company which I am well-capable of.

        HP Service Center — too much delay

        I went to hp center to replace my hard disk.they said it will take 4 to 5 day and 4700rs to replacey hard disk in exchange.they said they will call me when my hard disk is avilable again.but i didnt get and any call after week.so i called them they said i will take to or 3 days more so again i called them after that but they didnt answer.so after 2 weeks i demanded my faulty hard disk from them ,they returned it and told me again me they can replace in two days i didnt trusted them again and recievedmy hard diskback from them .I got relaced my hard disk from hp deler in just 10 minutes for hust 3000 rs.
        so i got a conclusion from this that they charge extra money from costumer and waste there time

          THE LAPTOP WAS UNDER WARRANTY FOR 1 YEAR,
          I KEPT ON COMPLAINING ABOUT MY LAPTOP BATERY BACKUP, SINCE I HAVE PURCHASED IT,
          BUT NO RESULTS FOUND, an hp employe takes customer personally he is very rude and advice not to come to customer care as the batery will not be changed, earlier when i use to complaint he use to do the batery check and advice me to use for few months and show again. hp employe also ask money for accesries or gadgets which are under warranty,
          SO PLEASE KINDLY CHANGE MY LAPTOP BATERY UNDER WARRANTY I WILL BE THANKFULL

            HP people are making a fool of their customers.They promise to give assured free gifts with the purchase of their product and the customers follow up with the terms and condititions, but the HP people try to cheat the cunsumers, I have read a number of complaints. So many people are fed up of their customer care yet they do nothing about the same. It is a clear message to all the harassed people/consumers that they should start filing criminal complaint under Section 420 of the IPC as well as civil complaints against the HP people so that they also get tit for tat

            I am Vishal Kumar, I have a HP Pavillion dv6767tx notebook.I am facing issue with Webcam, Fan, and DVD writter.

            Earlier i was visited to HP service center(RT Outsourcing Services Limited Noida) but Service center team leader said we are

            not supporting windows7.That time notebook have only 1 issue with the FAN.But unfortunately team leader(SC) denied to service

            my notebook.After a month i visit again to SC then SC people said to me to install Windows 7 now we are supporting Win7.

            On[protected] i was submitted my notebook to same SC and they told me we will update you on after 2 days. but no update.

            I regularly visit to SC bt no update.

            After 5 days they only diagnose and tell me that we requested for three parts(Webcam, Fan, DVD writter).and said after 2 or 3 days

            we will replace ur part.After 3 days i vist again to SC then they said we haven't recieved any part fron HP.I regularly visit to SC

            but none of the part recieved from SC.Team leader of RT Outsourcing (vikas mann) said i dont know anything HP knows about parts.

            On[protected] i took back my notebook in the same condition and they said part is not available in India. After that i regularly visited to service center.

            On 15 or 16 feb 2010 my notebook fan has been replaced by the service center. On[protected] i got a call frm updation team named(Suparna) she uapdate me to

            part is still on waiting when i recieved the part i will call you back. Then i asked how much time it will take, she said it will take 2-3 days she said part is shipped frm

            banglore. And she also told parts was recived and already fix on ur laptop but the parts not working properly i confirm with the (Suparna) she said i m sure but the main

            problem is that my notebook is still with me at my home because i already mentioned i taken back my notebook on[protected] so how is it possible to fix on my notebook

            that means wrong commitment and wrong updation given to customer from the huge and famous firm HP. On the same day i visit again to service center to ask about parts

            service center said i haven't recieved any part from HP. After a long discussion service center said we will replace your DVD writter today itself. Then I call to CCC banglore they said

            only 2 parts are ordered by the service center and the 3 part(DVD writter) ordered 5 min before. And the service center people told me your all 3 parts ordered but we haven't recieved.

            So tell me what is this who is wrong customer, service center people or HP tell me and clear me. On[protected] i again visit to service center and they replaced my notebook DVD writter.

            But still no idea about webcam how much it will take... they said part is not available in any country.so how we can replace ur notebook part they said you need to wait for it.

            I am still waiting my some important work still stop without WEBCAM . So tell me the TAT (exact date).Or i have to used my notebook without my WEBCAM. Or if you all people not able to replace

            my notebook WEBCAM then take back my laptop and replace the whole unit. So please do it ASAP. And tell me what i have to do after this.

            That means i m wrong to purchase ur HP product.If you dont have parts so whats my fault.I i am still working with faulty part of my notebook with too much difficulty.

            Now SC dont have any idea about when parts come and my notebook part replace.Tell me the exact date.Or otherwise replace my whole notebook ASAP.

            Or otherwise give me the warranty compensation till the all part replaced from the date of submitted.

                  I bought this laptop (hp pavilion dv 2700) appx 11 months backand it has a warranty of 1 yr.The battery back up since starting was not good but I continued but over a period of time, the battery back up has gone down significantly, a fully charged laptop works for just an hour maximum and the latop have also started getting heated up very soon, i have to continously work on charger and in case electricity goes off my laptop also goes off, please suggest a solution.

                        I am Vikram Kumar from Chennai . I bought my laptop on 21 Feb. 2009 and guess, what happened!!!
                        Its speaker problem, sound is not at all coming...its completely waste of money. I took my laptop to service center and they were saying that "Sir you have used VLC so the speaker is not woking". I said hell...c'mon they didnt get any better excuse apart from this. In addition to that they were saying "Sir we have mentioned in our website, not to use VLC". Isn't that a completely ridiculous excuse i have ever heard. C'mon the laptop is mine then whats the problem with this HP, to use any kind of software. If thats the thing then every time we need to ask HP, what software we can use and what not. I have never heard such a ...According to me HP is one the poorest quality laptop in the recent market.They itself spoiling their name...They didnt even know how to tackle the customers. I will recommend to people, not to buy any kind of Hp product, its completely useless.

                            I am Shashikant Sangle, I bought a HP laptop (DV5-1104TU) on 22nd February, 2009 from Vijay Sales - Goregaon Br, Mumbai.
                            As per the ongoing HP offer I sent all the required documents(ie Copy of Purchase invoice and Bar Coded product serial number sticker (original)) alongwith the at par cheque no.028228 (HDFC Bank) of Rs.1299/- payable to "Solutions Integrated Marketing Services Pvt. Ltd." on 27th February, 2009 to HP Redemption Cell. The cheque is already cleared by the bank.
                            Till date I have not received any confirmation even after several follow-up emails for gift redemption status.

                              I want to make a complain regarding the negligence of HP service centre in Chennai-RT Outsourcing Service Ltd., Peters Road Service Centre.
                              I went to this service centre to avail my extended waranty service which is going to exipre in near future(expiry date May 2nd 2009). But the service centre people told that there is no service extension done from your side and the waranty expired in year 2007. I showed them all the details but they were not ready to accept. They behavior was ill-mannered.

                              I also told them that I have already availed the service of extended warany from this centre in recent past. But they were not ready to accept this.

                              The worst part was the top engineer behaved in a very ill mannered way.

                              This is the last product that I have bought from HP, in near future never I will suggest anyone to buy HP products. As everyone know, word of mouth is also a way to promote a products of vendor and it can also works in reverse manner.

                                this complaint is for a kodak digicam offer which i was to recieve after sending some documents and a DD of Rs1000/- after buying a HP pavillion laptop from surat (gujarat).. this offer was valid till 30th november 2008.. i bought my laptop on 27 november n dispatched the documents on 4th of december after registering it online.

"they said my documents has been delivered on 5th of december".. i requested the M/S HP redemption to contact professional couriers at delhi for your confirmation of courier...
                                i have contacted a lot but now they dont reply... the validity of the DD is going to end on 27thMay 2009.
                                please help me as i have waited a long time

To get the promotional offer of Philips Home Theater I have registered with HP site and sent all the required document along with cheque of Rs.1499 to SOLUTION INTEGRATED MARKETING SERVICES PVT LTD which handles the HP's promotional offer.
                                And got the acknowledgment for the documents that I sent. The cheque was realised on 26/03/2009.

                                And the offer says that the gift will be dispatched within 6 weeks of time.
                                However even after waiting 4 months of time there is no sign of receiving the gift and there is no acceptable response given by the company which always saying the stock is unavailable.

                                And I am sure lot of people facing same/similar issue with HP promotional offer.

                                Hp / free gift from redemption cell — Regarding the delivery of free gift

                                I have purchased a laptop of hp by 2009 new year. i was promised to give a gift of Philips Home theatre and DVD player. I have sent all the needed documents to the Redemption cell. Now i am said that the gift is sent to Bangalore but it has been ceased by the sales tax department in Bangalore. So i am informed by Overnite Courier people that the gift will be despatched only if the Hp people provide necessary documents. Also i dont know why the Courier people shipped the gifts from Delhi to Bangalore without proper documents. The gift was despatched fom Delhi by March 30. Still i have not received the gift. the concerned people please do the needful.

                                  Kodak Camera 9.5 mp not reached with redemption code cko8enrf9r...the laptop hp pavillion dv2918tx with serial no.2ce837mjg2was purchased on 9/01/2009 from (the computer shopee) jalandhar...and the required draft was sended after 2 days but the camera has still not reached after more than 3 months...so please check your records and send the relative information to the above website and send the camera as soon as possible...

                                      I have bought my HP Pavilion DV5 -1217AX on 10th of May 2009 from Excite and from day one I started noticing problem with Battery which doesn't charge and the unit gets heated up faster which troubles me keeping my finger on keyboard.

                                      I called up with this issue to HP service center 3 times on this No:[protected] and spoke with Sahana, Divia & Manjunath and the case id: [protected] / [protected] / [protected].

                                      The case is still open and these guys have guided me to Indiranagar HP service center where I have visited 2 times and Jayanagar 1 time, they kept giving me excuses instead of replacing the unit.

                                      I have bought the laptop thinking HP is a good brand but now I feel I have done the biggest mistake choosing HP.

                                      Don't forget to see the attachment where the HP service centers name and address, original bill and Name of the HP service center person "Mr. Ali's" address and phone number.

                                      If anybody can help great or my hearty suggestion of never go for HP, good to with Apple, Lenovo or Dell.

                                      Let me see if consumer court can help me in this regards if this matter doesn't sorted out within HP.

                                      I also own a HP laptop but I have a higher end model with a price tag. I have been using it for over a year. So far the only problem I have faced is that the DVD writer stopped working. I took it to service center but faced lots of harassment. They have no immediate replacement policy. I had to submit my laptop to them. They lingered on and after 25 frustrating days, they finally replaced it. It worked fine for a month but now its malfunctioning again. It takes 2-3 hours to reach the nearest service center from my residence and after the first time debacle, I am reluctant to send it for servicing again.

                                      Overall I am happy with my HP laptop. It functions brilliantly. No regrets there. But I wish the Service Center guys were more helpful. Its a real pain in the rear to get proper service from them even if its under warranty.

                                      I agree with you. I own a HP entertainment series. It was all fine until the quick access button's power cord got cut. They said they'll replace the whole stuff. Ever since, all sorts of problems have cropped up. like overheating, periodic BIOS failures. Recovery Partition not working at time. They replaced the entire mother board and as of now, everything in that laptop, except HDD and CPU and 3D card and case has been replaced. But still the laptop overheats -> and switches off at times while using just Office 2007's Excel and Powerpoint for more than 3 hours.

                                      And I got the understanding that the service is being outsourced to many small-time companies where people actually don't have any experience of troubleshooting. Once they unwired the DVD drive off at delivery.

                                      And for the record: my laptop has been in the service center for more than 9 months for the last 1.7 years (since purchase). I've had enough with the service center.

                                      The take home is as long as the Product "behaves" itself it's good - The minute you think of warranty or service your problems have just begun.

                                      PS: My lappy is still with HP service center at the time of writing this mail.

                                      Sounds bad the way you are treated to get your lappy serviced.

                                      I guess you should reach out to Richmond Circle branch office where the direct HP guys are on service only if you are from Bangalore.

                                      Or the last option I see is to complain to consumer court.

                                      After a months round around, I had got the letter stating that the entire unit can be replaced and with no delay I had bought acer from the showroom where from I had bought the HP Pavilion DV5 -1217AX showing the letter given by HP.

                                      I am very happy with acer, its cheap and reliable, the HP costed me 42k and acer only 34k, the showrrom guys didn't refund me the remaining amount but they gave me a option of buying something else with the remaining amount.

                                      I am happy, I play lot of movies, write dvd's, play high end video game withought a graphic card but it runs amazing, may be because of DDR3 ram of 3 GB's.

                                      I hope you will get your problem solved in short time.

                                      well i have been using this since a couple of months and I would recommend each and evry 1 never go for this laptop.. it looks marvalous but whats the use of a nice looking toy which cannot perform in a real world... so what i am saying is this battery takes 5 hrs to charge .. can u belive it... and sometimes its only stuck on" 45% say let it be 80% or 10% .. wont go ahead of that.. let me reseat the battery or the F#### cord... no result ... well what i want is a complete replacement of this systenm.. as I stay in mumbai and Hp service centre is jus couple of miles away ... i am gonna get this issue fixed... issue fixed... yay .. no problem now... but guess what ... the same problem arises again and i am sick o[censored]sing this laptop.i have a high end desktop with amd black edition quad core @3.4 ghz and also a toshiba laptop whjich my mom usues gradually... but i have paid 45 grands for this piece of and it should work.. bieng a fan of amd i purchased dv5 1217 ax... but never knew battery would be the issue... i have to take this out for my presentation.. as i am in 1st year MBA from IIMS ... just a warning to those who plan to buy this ... its only the problem with the battery .. rest everything works absolutely fine ...but not fit for high end games as amd turion is ment for multimedia.. NOT GAMES.

                                      I have purchased HP DV5 1217AX laptop and its a nightmare.My laptop was costliest and good for nothing as compared to what my friends have got.
                                      Very poor battery backup and battery life. But that's something which is manageable (u can plug it in all the time).
                                      Star attraction is the "overheating and shutting down issue" .Now.. what can you do if your system shuts down..??
                                      Heats up so quickly while internet browsing through data card or wired connection.WiFi connection is like cherry on top.

                                      I've been to service centers they keep on saying "sir their was lot of dust inside causing it to overheat".. Surprisingly my flatmates don't face this issue with their laptops bcoz all the dust of my house goes inside my laptop only bcoz dust particles love HP1217AX :P :P i think I have to go to outer space to use this crap in dust free surrounding.

                                      Bottom line is:
                                      1- This laptop does not have efficient cooling mechanism to cool down its processor causing it to shut down in 15-20 min if CPU usage is 50% or more. (Its like having a FERRARI fixed with poor tyres which burst if you speedup a little :D)
                                      2- Cooling fan and other stuff doesn't work on this one.( I suggest not to buy and spend some more money for this crap)
                                      3- I think amount of thermal grease applied on processor is not sufficient.( this is what I think but I expected HP guys to do better than me and find a solution)
                                      4- Its design for air intake is faulty, as its from bottom which is narrowed if you place your laptop on a flat surface.

                                      HP SHOULD BE ASHAMED FOR NOT TAKING ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THE FAULT and FOR BEING UNABLE TO FIND A PERMANENT FIX FIR THIS ISSUE.

                                        I bought an Hp PavilionDV9601 AU...It cost me Rs 48, 750...2 months after my one year waranty expired the mother board got damaged. And I was asked to replace it which wil cost me Rs 22, 000.
                                        Now HP is legally in the correct, but let me tell you that if I go to a company and purchase a product for 48, 000 RS and 1year and 2 months later they expect me to pay another 22, 000 almost a half of the product cost they are seriously mistaken.

                                        (I bought the laptop S/n0 CN F7 392 VDG from Quad Media Chennai 9/ April 2008)

                                        You go to a reputable company expecting a good durable product or atleast just service. Hp might be legally in the correct. But I guarantee you that I will never buy an HP product again and I will make sure that none of my friends, familly and colleagues buy one either and there are a lot of them. I take it upon myself to spread the bitter experience of HP and I assure that I will adversely affect your sales, even if it is by a very small fraction, I am a freelance graphic designer and I use a lot of computer and computer accessories in my line of work, but I have never had such a bitter frustrating experience before HP.
