purchased laptop from techno guide andheri (e) may 2007 within 6months got DVD reader writer replaced ie.october2007 after another month the motherboard went dead and was replaced. again after 3monts the piece went dead again. the system has major heating up problems, the design/technology used turion64seems to be the problem this information was given to us from the service center. even heard the company had pulled back pieces from dealer stocks because of this complaint, negotiated with the company service center several times on email but never got a favorable reply, now the subject laptop is a case of mental torture and agony. saw your programme pehredar on CNBC18 awaaz. was impressed which has given me the idea to approach you. desperately need help as big money is wasted for a machine which gave frustration than any help or work.kindly contact me as soon as possible. my mobile no. Hey, M having compaq v3029au laptop from sep 2006 nd u know, company has changed d motherboard 9 times n processor 2 times till now !! But still prob of display n heating is going on !! Nd nw they r nt even responding or nt even they r replying my calls or mails !!!

Nw m going 2 d consumer court, so any1 is having same prob ? plz help me 2 make compaq company feel guilty 4 it !!!
I have puchased the laptop Compaq Presario V3225AU in June 2007. Within first 1 year I replaced 2 times its display panel, 1 time its DVD drive and 1 time its mother board due to the heating problem. In the 2nd year I replaced the mother board 3 times due to the same problem. Now they have rejected in giving me the extended warranty for 1yr. So I am forced to put the same to dustbin with great pain.

this model is just waste of money... wasted a lot of money on this peace after buying it in repairs...
these bas***ds have not even replaced these models from the market. I have the same piece. Having SRK as brand ambassador surely doesn't means a responsible corporate.
Compaq & HP both the brands suck big time

    As per the offer I was informed I am eligible for a Home theatre, In order to claim that I had prepared for demand Draft #255887, in favor of “Solutions Integrated Marketing Services Pvt Ltd” dated 30th dec’08, I have couriered it through “The proffesional Couriers” bill # "blr91004387" on the same day i.e 30th Dec’08. I was told that I will be receiving this claim by 4 weeks which I haven’t received yet.

      Dear Sir, I went to Chroma Store at Phoenix Mill, Mumbai to purchase HP wireless Printer Adopter on 03022009. I have HP CM1312 NFI Coler Laser printer with all Wi-Fi Capabilities. I asked one of the chroma representative. The Conversation is as follows.

      Myself: Where are HP Wireless Printer Adopter kept?
      Manager: Sir, here it is, a range of HP Wireless Printer Adopters Q6259A.
      MySelf: I have a HP Printer, can i take this HP Wireless Printer Adopter for my HP printer?
      Manager: Surely, This is HP Wireless Printer Adopter. This will work on HP Printer.
      Myself: What is the price, Any discount?
      Manager: The fixed price is Rs3119. No discount at present.

      I went to payment counter and purchased.Now when i took that HP Wireless Printer Adopter and installed the CD in my laptop and fixed the adopter in printer, it was not working. I talked to HP customer care and they found out that this product Q6259A is made for eurpoe only...It is written on their HP Part Surfer page. They said that you go to chroma store and tell them to exchange as it is not applicable in india. I went to chroma store the next Day, and said that it is not working. They said, products once sold are not taken back. You should have enquirred before purchase. I said that you are here to assist us. You have only one category of HP adopters and u people have convinced me that this will work in my HP Printer...You should have told me that there are only certain categories on which this model works.

      I am a beginner in IT. Now what should I do with this product for which I incurred an expenditure of RS 3119. The Personnel Manager Mr. Saravana Chakraborty at Chroma Store said that you sell it others for which it is compatible or throw it outside. I cannot help in this matter. U should know IT else don’t come in chroma.

      I request HP or Chroma (Their channel Partner) to replace this product with my compatible HP wireless adopter or give me my money back. As they have cheated me and not following the fair practice with Customer.

        . Have not received the gift kodak digital camera yet despite numerous emails & reassuarancesredemp.code.( 6UQBWURAKT ). this is the last mail i wrote them:-you had promised to deliver the digicam by 6 weeks on 8th of december. now that works out to latest by the end of january.now you are asking me to wait a further 15 days which is a full 6 weeks late. does hp make computers or bullock carts.i have had enough of you!.i pledge not to ever buy an hp product & dissuade all who intend to buy it to shop around with more honest companies.in the era of the internet i think hp is the most ridiculous company.you are bound to go the satyam way.may you roast in your own hell.
        hp is the worst company at least in india.

            1. I have purchased a Laptop of your Compy Model CQ 60104TU on 22 Oct 08 from JL Technovision, Jaipur Cantt. But I checking after one month ie Nov 2008 DVD of Laptop faulity. DVD not run VCD and some DATA CD.

            2. I have complaint to RT OUT Sourcing, your Service Centre Japur on 02 Dec 2008. On the direction of RT Outsourcing that DVD to be replaced and who have the part ordered by their case ID No [protected] from your Company.

            3. After three months a lot of compalint to your office DVD send your office on 14 Feb 2009 to RT Outsourcing, Jaipur but not intimate me for replacement of DVD and after 07 days DVD returned to your office.

            4. I have again complaint to your office through RT outsourcing, Service Centre Jaipur vide their Cash ID No [protected] dated 19 Feb 2009. You are requested to send againt DVD of Laptop Model No CQ 60104 TU with any delay and confirm my mobile No [protected] that DVD send to RT OUT Sourcing, Japur.

              I purchased HP pavilion series laptop in the month of december and then within 15 days, i sent Rs1500/- DD and original stickers for the free gift. You mentioned it will take 6 weeks to deliver but i have still not recieved it.
              i hav even recieved an acknowledgement 11 days ago...it said that my documents are being processed...
              Please do send my free gift(5.1 home theater) at the earliest.

                my name is kamal arora, I am a student in amity business school, noida, I have got the hp laptop from the college and i have given it to the co, on 2nd of december to get it repaired but since then i dont have any status of it, i have called the co, 100 of times but they have shown a careless behaviour and they even didnt bother to reply once.

                with reference to my token no 5044. i have given my laptop(compaq cq45) for=
                repairing on the date 20 oct 2009 as my explorer was corrupted as said by =
                the service center in agra( opp sur sadan, sanjay palace).
                Its been almost a month and the service center employees are postponing the=
                delivery day by day.
                My laptop is well in the warranty period and the warranty is going to expir=
                e on 18 january 2010.

                i would kindly request your probing into the above mentioned matter to avoi=
                d further testing of my patience.

                  it is showing some kind of hardware problem
                  i have a laptop of compaq, model no.--presario v300, s/n--2ce7130z5s.and it is under warranty period.but from few days its not atall working properly.infact it has problem with its audio even.it is very slow.it blinks sometimes...and has got many problems.i called up at service center but no one came from there...i m having my exams and because of no laptop i m facing a lot of problem..so pls repair it as soon as possible.i really will be obliged to u.my add. is ...international institute of information technology, p-14, rajiv gandhi infotech park, hinjewadi, pune.

                  Take precautions while buying HP/ Compaque Notebooks...

                  I am a victim... There hardware have serious performance issues. I hardly used a compaque presario laptop 18 months... Its video chip damaged and is attached to motherboard. To replace a mother board, Rs. 20000 required.

                  Consult with one or two hardware techniciens before buying a HP/ Compaque PC's
                  please please please please please tell me where is the compaq presario laptop servise centre in vadodara, gujarat... i have a starting problem with my laptop, it is not start properly... PLEASE TELL ME SERVICE CENTRE IN VADODARA

                    S & A — Brand New Laptop - HP

                    Hi,

                    This is in regards to a new HP Laptop I bought from a reseller in Noida, India worth 45000/- INR. After working on it for 5 days, it started hanging up and as suggested by HP Customer Care, I had to submit the machine to Elite Business Machines, which is an authorized service center for HP. After 12 days of my daily up and downs, I finally got my new machine back with a new Hard disk.
                    Again for the next 2 days it works fine and after that the same problem comes up, Now when I go this Elite Business center, they again say that the Laptop should be given to them and they will revert back to me. This time I told them, I cannot do that as my work is suffering and I may end up losing my job. But no use, so again they take the Laptop and give me Job card. I tried to go the HP center in Okhla Estate, over there also the same scene, one Ms. Banerjee, requests me that they will make sure that I get a new one by evening. But which evening I am not sure,

                    HP Pavilion Laptop — Fake Promotional Offer

                    I have purchased a HP Lapton 2 months back and offer was a 10 MP Kodak Camera. I had completed all the formalities. Still I did not recieved the gift yet. When I call to the Redemption Cell, they replied that they have already sent my packet and it was returned back to them with the "Address Changed". However, I am staying at the given address for the last 15 months. Now for more than 15 days they are saying that the gift is being sent today. God knows when the most awaited 'today' will come. I have already paid Rs. 990 to them by Cheque as postage and handling fees.

                    I am really very much annoyed of all this. Really this is a cheating by the HP.

                    HP Pavilion Laptop — Having Inferior quality products & Prices are extremely high of every computer product

                    i was looking for brand new laptop since last december of 2008.After a huge workout i came to know Hp Pavilion laptops has good quality & after sales support.Due to this mind make up i went to my nearest computer shop in shopprix mall who had named PAN COMPUTERS.I was very surprised to meet their maneger or owner in which way he was trying to do my brain wash.He made each and every try to convince me to purchase other brand.But when i was not agreed then he gave me prices of Hp laptops.One more horrible thing is that when i saw on hp website i got RS/- 5000 or 6000/- diffrence between those prices which were given by there shopkeeper.Therefore i ignored that dealer.But from that day i got continous call from them regarding laptop purchase.
                    HP has totally let us down. Bought mine while travelling in Dubai, and HP in Canada will not touch it. Motherboard is fried like so many others. Time to gather the complaints for a class action suit.

                    HP Pavilion Laptop — Not recived the Redemption Gifts

                    I had bough a pavilion Laptop on 28 Feb 2009 & since then waiting for the redemption gift (DSP2200)

                    I had also paid the DD of Rs 1564/- & completed all formalities.

                    But since then whenever I call the Redemption cell its always busy. In spite of leaving messages no one responds back.

                      I have purchased one HP Compaq Presario V3225 Note Book, having S/N 2CE720304F, P/N RY301PA, from their authorised ealier, UPTEC Computer Consultancy Ltd., Lucknow, in June 2007. For about one year there was no any major problem. After that one day when I switched on the Note Book did not respond. I then approached their local dealer/service centre at Ernakulam (Kerala). They were very kind enough to rectify the problem. Again, hardly after a month, the same problem occured. I approached them again and explained the problem. Once again they rectified the problem. Now, after a month, similar problem occured and I seriously doublt its realiability. There may be some serious design fault with the system. Kindly advise to whom I should contact. Now the system is available at Durgapur (West Bental). Awaiting a favourable response.

                        purchased a laptop 2 months ago.send a draft of 1499 along with serial no and code. but i have not recieved any gift yet.
                        We had bought HP Pavillion Lap Top on 20th Jan 2009, S/N is CND83964CB, My redemption code is RIIK09VXS5, i had opted for Kodak Digi camera and had sent cheque also for the same and HP received the claim on 23rd of Feb. 2009. I have been confirmed by the cutomer care executive several times that they have received the application and appproved the same. It is a different issue that their Telephone No. [protected], rings several times and get connected and immediately gets disconnected also, so every time for contacting these people i have spent atleast 30 Rs.

                        Well coming to the point, intention of the company seems to be not giving the gifts as assured because their email link also for promotional offer ends up breaking your head to find out the link where they can be contacted.

                        I would like to bring the knid attention of the all the people who are suffering like me that such kind of Practice is defined as "Unfair Trade Practice" under Consumer Protection Act and as well as MRTP Act. Consumer Protection ACT inter-alia under section 2 (3) states that " any trade practice which permits the offering of gifts, prizes or other items with the intention of not providing them as offered would be an unfair trade practice". Therefore, if the company do not provide any gifts as promised we can have recourse to the law.

                        I purchased an HP laptop and after registering it on-line, I was told to send a cheque for Rs 1499 and other details regarding the purchase to the redemption cell at Delhi. Now it is just 3 Months I have bought this Laptop and i am facing multiple issues with this system and when I reached there Repair Center which is near to Kirti Nagar, They asked me to wait for more then 1 Hr and then I kept my laptop for more then 1 week to fix it.But when I received my laptop back, While checking in front of them same problem was there. The issue was related to screen and being a tech my self I know it is the faulty part. But first they want to tell me it is my OS, but after having a long debate, they agreed that it is the Screen and Promised me to get it replaced and returned my laptop to me by saying that we have a part number and they can get it ordered.But now it is more then 20 days since that day and I have not got any call from them and when I called them back yesterday, they informed me that the issue has been fixed and as per them there was no issue related to screen and now the case has been closed as resolved. This is not done. being a Consumer I have paid money to them and now when I need there Services they are back stabing me. I want to name the Person aswell who has done this, his name is Gautam.                         I have purchased a Laptop model dm1note book with TU1080 intel processor from M/S Lalith Infotech Vishakapatnam, which was supplied to me with a technician based at Yelamacnhili near Vishakaptanm.                         I happened to be unfortunate to have purchased one HP laptop model no HP 431 during the month of Sept, 2012 and I never knew that by shelling out hand some amount of hard earned money I am being delivered JUNK which has no quality . It started giving trouble within 3-4 months after winter at the time of setting in of summers with thermal heating and automatic switching off the system within 10 minutes o[censored]se. After hectic complaints the system was inspected and the fan assembly has to be ordered and replaced which wasted at least 7-8 day to comes. After repair/replacement it was assured that the same shall function properly for times to come. Again the system starte companyd giving the same thermal heating problem from the first week of June 2013 and got aggravated within a week time and system get heated up with in 10-15 minutes & shut off.

                        It appears that HP has lost its repo on account of its quality and selling its JUNK product to buyers who pays the cost for it. I would request M/S HP to look in to my problem and replace the system with some New System which could be utilized with some trust .                           I brought a C6180 printer from US and trying to get it regionalized for past several weeks.
                          The support response is pathetic. Mediocrty of the staff in responding or getting back should go annals of incompetence.

                          I agree. I've had numerous contacts with HP regarding the fact that my HP Photosmart c6188 all-in-one printer is regionalized. Since I recently moved from country of purchase (China, 801 ink cartridges) to a different country (USA, 02 cartridges), it will not accept the cartridges which are identical in all respects except programming. HP has done worse than refuse to help me. They gave me the "run around" and are wasting my time.

                          First of all, HP never mentioned in their promotional literature or packaging that the printer was regionalized. I paid full price at a European based store in order to get a truly international, quality machine. If they had told me that their very own programming would cripple the machine for international use, since I was an expatriate planning to move back to home country eventually, I would of course never have purchased the printer. So in the first place, I feel I've been lied to.

                          But I did like the printer and wanted to keep it. Like most HP printers I've owned, it was a little workhorse and functions well. It's wireless, convenient. I liked it enough that I air shipped it back to my home country (cost about $300 to airship, about $100 less than the cost of replacing the entire thing).

                          When I arrived in the USA, of course the cartridges didn't run out of ink all at once. When I went to replace the first one, I was surprised to find the cartridges had a different number. I purchased them because they looked identical. These are cartridges that cost about $10 each.

                          Eventually, I purchased cartridges through the HP online store. At a cost of about $80 total to replace all the cartridges. When I tried to plug in the new one, that was the first I heard that the printer would only work with cartridges purchased in China.

                          By email, HP told me it was "too complicated" to send me instructions how to reset the regionalization. They said I would have to do it by phone. Okay, can you reset it or not, right? They told me it could only be reset a max of three times. I said OKAY. Half an hour.

                          By phone, the first thing was that they charged me $40 for technical support on the basis that my printer was "out of warranty". Well, yes, it is out of warranty but there is nothing wrong with it except the way YOU PROGRAMMED IT! Life is full of frustrations, some things you just let go of. I paid the money. Half hour down the drain.

                          But in the meantime, I had misplaced one of the new cartridges when I had put the old ones back in to use the printer (while it still had some ink in the old cartridges). Over the phone, they said to put the new ones in and hopefully it would reset itself. I had to hang up to find the new ones. When I plugged them all in, the printer still didn't work. Another hour down the drain.

                          The next time I called, they first verified I had paid for their d*mn technical service fee. Fifteen minutes on hold and to verify that they had gotten my money.

                          Then, they transferred me to a guy overseas who said it was impossible to reprogram. He said I would have to purchase a new printer. He really wanted me to buy a new printer and spent a lot of time trying to convince me to. One hour down the tube.

                          So far, I'm two and a half or so hours into this, have spent $80 on new printer cartridges, $40 on the service fee, and still have no printer that works.

                          I WILL NEVER BUY FROM HP AGAIN. If anyone ever sues these people with a class action lawsuit, let me in on the deal! [protected]@hotmail.com
                          same story here!! bought my C6283 from Saudi Arabia. Moved back home to the UK. The ink of only one cartridge has run out. I cannot simply replace with HP ink from UK...No! - I will have to get the priner regionalised and then shell out a load to replace ALL cartridges. AND i will have to pay HP for them to fanny about and do what is probably a 30 second job to regionalise my printer to UK (Im out of warranty)...I might throw the printer in the reception of HP in UK -
                          Same for me. I bought C4380 from Canada and after I came to India, I bought the cartridges as per the HP cust care suggestion and then they gave me the story of regionalization and evetually they came up by giving me an offer of replacing my existing printer with a similar printer of Indian version at a cost of Rs 7500. The the best part of the story is, the C4380 printer I bought for CAD 120, which is apprx Rs 6000 only. Not sure how a company like HP can have such corrupt business strategies.
                          I have same story.
                          I bought All-in-one 3180 deskjet printer in Japan. It worked well there then it worked well in Australia. Now it's working ok, well till last week. Now my Yellow ink is gone. I called HP and they first told me, no they don't have the 177 ink. The tech support referred me to Online Cartridge call center then they bounced me back to tech support.
                          Now First she refused to help me as mine is out of warranty. Then after insisting that i only need cartridge and my printer is working fine, she put me on hold, 5 minute she came back ok we can do it, you need to change all 6 ink set. after i said yes, she disappeared again for 5 minutes appeard again to print a test page with pressing cancel and ok together. Done. disappeared again for 5 minutes and said, i need to buy all new pack of six for HP801, send them receipt and my airwaybill with description of transfer from other company. Hell, why they need it only god knows, i don't have any, it was air cargo. Now, I am suppose to call them back with in 3 days and to send purchase receipt of new ink then they will tell me how to reset the code.
                          Not asked money till now. Not sure if they will ask me money AFTER i buy it.
                          Any one ready for filing at consumer court? Please let me know. I still have no idea how things work in India now as i came back after 12 years.

                          HP / Inkjet Printer — Concealing the fact about cartridges in new printers

                          Sir I would like to point out that HP sells its Inkjet Printers with Introductory cartriges, which are actually demo cartridges and very limited number of printouts are possible from this. This fact is not highlighted anywhere, even the dealers are not aware of this fact (They just hide this fact in the technical Specifications and on the printer box - which very few people read and it is not always possible to read).
                          The same printers (Probably a different model) are available in US at a lower price than in India, but they carry original cartridges.
                          Is this a FAIR Practice?, Whenever any feature which is existent is withdrawn is it not legally binding on the part of a Multi-National Co." like HP to bring it to the notice of it's customers?
                          I sincerely request some Govt. Organisation to intervene and ensure that these Multi-Nationals do not take India for granted and do whatever they wish to.
                          I just run into the same problem. I brought a C6188 in China, just moved back to US a month ago. I run out of the black ink yesterday and went to a store to get a ink. I was told to get a HP 02 ink. After putting it into the C6188, I was suprised to get an error message that I have to use HP 801 ink. I looked for the HP 801 ink in a few stores in my city and none of them have HP 801 ink. I tried to look for a solution online and realized that I have to change the regional code for the printer, I was pissed off. HP is too greedy.
                          HP are in the business of fleecing consumers. I have had the same experience movingt from Australia to then UK. We need a good lawyer to sue for the time we and many others have wasted on these products,

                            i gave my dv2701tx for repair at salem, (T.N) service centre on nov 24. they said the display problem is due to motherboard and they have to replace it.they asked for a week time.but even after 20 days it was not repaired. then i forced them alot so in hurry they replaced it with a incompatible mother board of compaq.my 256 mb nvidia was not be seen in device manager and some of my oringinal drivers were not working. i went again and complained they say format the system it will work.they did the formatting and made me to sit in their office for 5 hours.i had to leave that day to gujrat so had take that half dead laptop home.again i gave it for repair on 20th jan after coming from home and till now that is 11 feb i haven't received the laptop they say no parts..nearly 3 months of warranty has gone in repair..that too not repaired yet..and with an added bonus of ill treatment at service centre..this is a true fact of HP service..NEVER BY A HP PRODUCT IN LIFE>>>GO FOR DELLLLL>>THE BEST IN SERVICE>>>> IF ANY BODY CAN HELP ME WITH THIS COMPLAINT MAIL ME>>>THANKS

                            I bought a "HP PAVILLION DV2701TX" on April, 2008(with One year warranty). Now after 1.5 years my warranty expired and my problem is, when I switch on my laptop i am just getting a junk display on screen. I contacted HP Service Center (Indira Nagar, Bangalore) and was shocked to hear the reply as
                            "This is a known Issue with dv2000 series laptops and the solution is to repair/replace my motherboard which is going to cost you Rs 9000/Rs 18000 respectively."

                            I was shocked to hear this kind of a reply. What do they mean by known issue? When it’s a known issue, why I was not intimated about this issue when HP Customer Care people called me at least for Warranty renewal. When it’s a known issue this has to be addressed by HP irrespective of Warranty periods.

                            HP has recalled a series(dv2000 series) of laptops, but my laptop(dv2701tx) is not mentioned in the list.

                            In last 18 months I have bought 3 HP Laptops and now I got a reply like this for my first laptop and now I repent why I need to buy a product from such a manufacturer who sells a defected product.

                            The problem is exactly the same as mentioned above i.e., NVIDIA problem. Actually the issue is like NVIDIA chip gets heated too much and the NVIDIA IC type is BGA(Ball Grid Array) which is gives the actual issue. IC gets dry soldered or damaged which is hard to replace or repaired.

                            I logged a complaint in HP site and i got a call from them after two days. He said its impossible that HP service center guys are replied in such a way. Then he said bring your laptop again to our service center we make a best deal out of it like replacing the motherboard(for Rs15000). and he said i will get warranty for next 90 days.

                            I was totally disgusted with their answer.I didn't give my laptop to them. i did it with my own service engineer and paid Rs3300 which is just a temporary fix(means again the IC has to be replaced in the next 3 to 6 months) for this problem.
                            One more information i need to share here actually if your laptop is under warranty and when they say that they need to replace some parts. Actually what happens inside the service center is, HP don't do chip level servicing. They outsource the board to other small companies. Here the parts which are serviced already like second handed serviced boards(like exchange offer laptop boards) are replaced for the new laptops and send back to the customer(HP guides the small companies for doing this process).
                            I am (unfortunately) an HP consumer. 1.5 years back I bought an HP DV 2701TX laptop by spending an amount of Rs. 54, 274 trusting the so called HP brand name. Now, I have realised what a big mistake it was. My laptop always had problems such as overheating of battery.
                            I took some workarounds to avoid it. However, bow the VGA card has failed because of which there is no display on my laptop. I have been asked to spend Rs. 12000 to get the motherboard replaced by the HP support service personnel. However, after speaking to atleast 10 other people with the same model, I realised that all of them had faced similar problems and were wondering how my laptop survived even for a year.
                            Numerous online forums will let you know that this model is faulty - the battery, the vga card (which leads to display issues and finally mother board replacement).

                            If you cant make good products then stop advertising that you rather than making inferior products. The least you could have done for my laptop is giving a free replacement of motherboard of free servicing. Unless that happens I will make sure that noone in my friend circle buys from HP and would also publish the same on consumer forums. Don't underestimate the power of online media - an image once tarnished is gone forever.
                            I have purchased HP 2701TX in 2008. since i had a problem of over heating. 2 weeks back screen display started showing strange colors and display stopped frequently while working on notebook. Then I took it to the HP authorised care centre. after 2 days they gave me a quotation of 21000 for reparing my pc which basically involved replacing of mother board.I requested them that i can not afford to go with that quote as It is too expensive.Then later they told me to wait for some days as they had put a mail to the HP for revision of the quote. They promised me that they will get it done below 10000 Rs/-. But after a weeks time i got a call from a lady from the dealer asking why didn't i go with the 21000 quotation, When i told her that a person from the same centre via call told me that he would be sending me the revised quote, then she started saying " what is his name", "no revision in the price can be done " " please collect your laptop". I dont really understand why the spare spare price fo HP mother board which is supossedly a defective model -is priced at almost half the price of the pc...the price with which is is possible to buy a mini laptop of same HP manufacturing that too new one -new fetures.


                            Guys please let me know what solution did u find for the replacement issue. Is there any one who offered a lesser quote for the mother board
                            Repairing The Display Problem in HP dv2000/dv6000 series
                            PROBLEM
                            Last week when I turned on my laptop HP dv2701tx, there were multiple screens appearing on the display instead of one screen, and some times the screen even didn’t appear. I reinstalled and updated the nvidia drivers (as it has nvidia 8400GM) assuming something might be wrong with the drivers, but when the notebook restarted the multiple screens appeared right from the time it restarted, i.e. there were six boot screens, instead of one. I logged on to the HP website and updated my bios, but the problem didn’t solve. I ran the system restore, but that was also useless. I searched for the problem on the net and found that there is a die-packaging manufacturing defect in nvidia GPU of G84 and G86 which was officially announced by NVIDIA. These nvidia GPU are in most of dv2000/dv6000 series of HP pavilion laptops
                            Solution:
                            My laptop’s warranty expired last and was also not covered by HP Limited Warranty Service Enhancement. I talked to HP, they confirmed it as a hardware malfunctioning of nvidia GPU (Graphics Processing Unit), but refused to repair it free of cost (estimated cost by HP was $300+shipping charges). I being a student couldn’t afford that much. As I was out off options so I decided to get it repaired locally.
                            The local techinian immediately identified the problem. Actually the problem is in the Ball Grid Array (BGA) of Nvidia GPU. With the passage of time (approximately 1 year), the Ball Grid Array Soldering of the GPU gets damaged due to heating. When it gets damaged, some pins of the GPU loses the contact with the motherboard, and hence displays nothing. The local technician told that there are two methods to repair it
                            1. Temporary Repair
                            2. Permanent Repair
                            Temporary Repair
                            In temporary repair he would air heat the GPU, as a result the soldering balls in BGA would get settled and connections would be re-established, but the problem may show up again in a week or a month.
                            Permanent Repair
                            The permanent repair was more risky then the temporary one. There is 80% chance of getting it permanently repaired and 20% chance of permanent damage. I took the risk and finally the problem was resolved. In this repair the GPU was be detached (Desoldered) from the motherboard, and the new balls were made for BGA and the GPU was again fixed to the motherboard. When the laptop was turned on, the problem was actually resolved. The technician told that he has repaired many dv2000/dv6000 notebooks with the same problem, and none have reported the issue to him again.

                            Ball Grid Array are surface mount packages (smd) that uses metal balls and spheres to provide electrical interconnection
                            The problem is the same as reported in XBOX 360’s GPU’s BGA.

                            Hi guyz. A friend of mine also had the similar problem and we got a very good solution for this. Thanks to the people who have given the root cause of this problem with HP pavilion-dv2701tx machine. For all of you who wants to get it fixed and without replacing your motherboard, Just go to SP Road in bangalore and meet mr XYZ(contact no). we paid some 7k (as my LCD was also damaged otherwise the expenditure to fix the problem will not cause more than 4k at max). My Friend is running laptop happily without any issue. I will publish the details of Mr XYZ in my next comment.

                              Your engineers from ESCORT, Vapi & Surat have attended the complaint & replaced almost all the spares. About six times my printer is opened fully. However the complaint is not resolved. It appears that, you have supplied a substandard machine.

                              Still the nature of complaint your engineers have not diagnosed. It reveals that, the machine is out of your repairing reach. Therefore you replace my machine. I do not intend to open the machine any more. I feel that, you are selling the article & sending the engineers for training on the customers machine.

                              Since one month you have failed to solve the problem & therefore I directs you to do needful in regards to replacement. Kindly call me on my cell to understand my problem in detail.

                              HP is fraud company especially in India. They do not attend the custopmers complaint & lying the machine idle since one & half month wihtout attnending the defects. HP is failed in resolveing the problems with my printer 2840.

                              If the same is not attend departmnet will proceed for consumer court. Look in that we are also a government sector.
                              HP is deliberatly not resolving the complaint of a government organization. They have opened my printer about seven times. However the printer is not set to the working condition. Every time their service out lets submits the order for a new spare & pulling out the time. Servie out lets are not replacing al the parts they have ordered. Since one & half month a governemt organization is loosing the business.
                              I have lodged compalint three times in past one month vides the complaint forms displayed on net . Compalint references are CCHSAP 190531, CCHSAP 190673 CCHSAP 192523. But HP has responded none of my aobve complaint.

                                  Dear Sir,
                                  I have purchase laptop on 4/12/2006, From Nagpur, on 25/11/2008, i have face problem in its Mother Board. Tho I have extended warenty up to add. 2 Years.

                                  I had put my laptop at HP Service center at Sakinaka mumbai on26.11.2008, case Id no=[protected]. But after waiting 1.5 month, i have't receive +ve response from your end.

                                  Then i have transfer to Pune on 1.1.09 I have put my laptop to HP Service center Pune"Simceptc Computronics ptv ltd"(HP Compaq authorised service center", Add=" sai prasad 6 floor, shila vihar colony, paud rd.Pune paud fata. opp to planat ford, pune 411038". on 3.1.08 Case ID No=[protected].

                                  But still from 3 month i am wating for part of my laptop.

                                  Please take strich action against this issue.

                                      Sir,

                                      I am studying MBA in NIT Trichy. I bought HP pavillion DV5 1102 TU laptop on 31st October. I could use it only for Two months then it was found defective of mother board. I gave it for servicing in HP service center. It has been under their cutody tfor more than one month. Their reply is that the spare part for the laptop is not available in India. whenever i call and ask them about the stutus of the latop they say "whenever the part will be available we will inform you". I dont'n know why they are delaying so much. I have so many works to do like assignment and other things. and it is dicouraging response from the company. I bought it with premium price but i am getting this kind of servive. Suppose i would have invest money i could have earned much money. really this is disgusting and erresponsibility from the company.

                                      Please solve this proble. whether the laptop should be replaced with new mother board or new piece of laptop sould be provided to me. I request you humbly, please solve my problem.

                                        Dear Sir / Madam,
                                        I do not know whether any one is going to act on this complaint. However i thought of giving it a try if at all some one can help.

                                        My father who is an NRI bought this laptop from Dubai International Airport somewhere in October 2004. It costed a whopping INR 1.25 lacs at that time which were paid to the dealer selling it at airport.

                                        After using the laptop since then suddenly some of the keys from its keyboard stopped functioning. This time in Fen 2009 my father happened to be in Ahmedabad where we took the laptop for repairs (we are ready to pay for the repair) at HP AUTHORIZED SERVICE CENTER in ASHIRWAD COMPLEX, USMANPURA, AHMEDABAD.

                                        Those guys did not even look at the problem but straight away refused to do anything saying that this series of HP laptop is not supported in India. This came as a news to us. What is this?

                                        How can a company like HP who sells globally provide support area specific. This is ridiculous. Another point to think upon is if this was the case why were we sold that laptop at the first instance. The person selling should have informed of the same. There is no such mention on the support booklet that came with laptop. It simply mentions all support locations for the laptop including Asia-Pacific.

                                        First question:
                                        1. Is it HP that is curlprit?
                                        2. Is Dubai Internaitonal Airport sales dealer curlprit?
                                        3. Is the HP authorized service center in Ahmedabad curlprit?

                                        I think from all three of above number 3 is the person who is not doing his job correctly.

                                        What can be done further? We are ready to pay for repairs. Without keyboard how can a laptop work. However the service center in Ahmedabad is not in a co-operating mood at all. Only he can do something in this matter. He should escalate the matter.

                                        I hope some one can intervene and bring the HP service center to his senses. If HP itself follows ridiculous support policies then HP as a company must be made to change their internal processes which are doing nothing but cheating people of their monies.
