We had surrendered the ICICI merchant services POS terminal in 2018. The device was collected by the company’s employee.
In November 2020, I get an email stating that a charge of ₹1000/- + 18% GST is being deducted from my account for using their services and device.
I tried to raise my concern with them by contacting them on their customer care number mentioned on their website. I couldn’t get thru the IVR as it only accepts TID which I didn’t have as the POS terminal was submitted 2 years ago.
Therefore, I sent an email to them expressing my concern and there was no response from them at all. All I get is an auto generated email stating that we will get in touch with you soon. After awaiting their response and no communication from their end I decide to visit the local branch and speak with their branch manager. Upon understanding the situation the manger gives me a contact number of the person who looks into this matter. On speaking with him, he gives me another contact number of the person incharge of our area.
After talking to the area incharge, he sends an email to the concerned team keeping me in the loop, asking to close the matter and refund the amount deducted.
Then a response comes from the team that as per their records the terminal is still active and therefore the charges have been deducted. Further to this, they also state that they have also activated cash withdrawal for customers and an additional fee of ₹1000/- + 18% GST would be deducted from my account. Firstly, I don’t have the terminal as it had been submitted to the company 2 years ago. Secondly, they activated a services without my consent.
On writing the same thing in the email they say that I need to show them the proof of submission of the POS terminal. I try to prove my point by asking them to check my statement and see that there have been no transactions since 2018. They still write that submit the terminal in order to close the case.
How can I submit the terminal again when it has already been done. Who keeps the proof of submission after two years. There have been no transactions thru the device which in itself is a proof.
Please help me get my refund and close the account for good
