Icici claims to have a good multilevel security in form of id password grid number n as per me best is otp. For my shock ..yes shock as per icici customer care otp is not important beware.
2 weeks back my wdife had a online transaction of certain amount to a person, on first attempt no otp generated n msg displayed as error she tried again as no botp generated so she was confident for no transaction but again no otp n error msg so she tried again n this time received otp but again error msg as this time otp received so she checked balance n for our shock all 3 transaction are deducted from balance. We contacted customer care n as per them system was down but they assure our money will be refunded to our account. Next day we forwared level one complain but no response on mail. Next day level 2 complain n received a reply by Mr sindhu that all transactions are in void status n we will get back money. But for our surprise my wife received a call from icici cc n as per them it is possible that without otp transactions can take place in icici n we have to contact 3td party to get back our money.
My point is.
1. If otp not necessary for transaction why to send it, to give false hope of added security.
2. I have records of mail and otp but RBI needs 30 days time to lodge a complain, why so .. My money is not important.
3.very interesting fact, try on your mobile, i[censored] login to ur bank account not on app, Google ask to remember passeord, and as best of my knowledge non of bank password is saved by Google even i[censored] opt to save as its a security measure by banks at least by satandardcharted and SBI bank which I m using. But again a poor show by icici, Google will save icici id n password both n would not require a otp for transaction.
4. In elaboration of last point, example... My wife keep my mobile n card in same purse, as most of ladies, so if some one stole her purse n get access to mobile, he just need to login to icici site n Google provide them id n password n grid number on card. So total loss.
