Dear Sir/Ma'am,
I am Manikandan and a resident of Chennai, Tamil Nadu. I own
Elina Aqua SX 6 kg washing machine of IFB.
I would like to report an incident of mis-selling and cheating of one
of your authorized franchises (for services). We connected with IFB
toll free number for some repair services for my washing machine and
people from IDE Enterprises turned up.
They inspected the washing machine and said, water sensor, machine
front door and suspension have to be changed. They indicated that,
suspension would cost Rs 2, 500/- and water sensor would cost Rs
1, 500/-. In total, the repair charges would come around Rs. 8, 500/- .
They suggested to take AMC package costing Rs 10, 800/- instead of
repairing each part separately as it covers the cost of machine parts
for 2 years and we agreed.
Since, we were suspicious of higher charges quoted by IDE Enterprises,
we checked the prices of water sensor, suspension etc. online. In
addition, we spoke to our known technicians. Later, we found the
following:
1) Market rate of Water sensor is Rs 500-600. However, the
technicians from IDE Enterprises had quoted Rs 1, 500
2) Market rate of Suspension is Rs 1500. However, the technicians from
IDE Enterprises had quoted Rs 2, 500.
3) AMC charges collected by IDE Enterprises is Rs 10, 800. This is way
too higher than the AMC charges shown in IFB website (~ Rs 5000).
4) The bill given by IDE Enterprises didn’t give any breakup for
repair services (attached)
From the above, it is amply clear that IDE Enterprises intentionally
inflated the prices of spare parts to make me buy the AMC package.
Also, IDE Enterprises collected double the AMC charges quoted on IFB
website.
This tantamounts to mis-selling and cheating . We bought the IFB
product considering your quality of product and service. If such
mis-selling and cheating happen, how will I buy a IFB product in
future? I have lost confidence in IFB product and services. I deeply
regret buying your product. I never expected such a bad experience
from IFB.
Request to look into the issue and refund the excess charges collected
from me. I don’t want AMC. Pls charge for the spares and services
correctly and bill me. If the issue is not rectified, I promise that I
will not buy any IFB product in future and will not recommend IFB to
any of my known friends & relatives circles.
