Dear Sir,
I, Vivek Kodesia, R/o 798, Vivek Villa Civil Lines, Mal Godown Road, Budaun, U.P. Pin 243601 was issued a PAN No. AIHPK1359h some where around 2000 or 2001. I am continuously using this PAN No. and PAN Card for all purposes of Income Tax and Bank etc. MY employer companies also deduct my TDS against this PAN No. (I have the origional PAN Card issued to me). Today i tried to register myself on the INcome Tax Department Website for e-filing of Income Tax Returns. However, i was surprised to read the message that "This PAN No do not exist in our database". Shockingly, I called the Income Tax Helpline No.[protected], which told me to call again. After certain calls the executive helped me out that MY PAN No. as per Income Tax database available to him is AGLPK9822B. I again visited the website and submitted the form for payment of Taxes on https://onlineservices.tin.nsdl.com/etaxnew/PopServlet?rKey=[protected] and filled in all details of mine with PAN No. AIHPK1359H. Surprisingly i got the message that For PAN 'AIHPK1359H' given by you above, the name as per Income Tax Department database is 'VIVEK KODESIA'. Tax credit will be effected to the said PAN name. If the name is correct, then click on "Submit to the bank"
I do not know if the PAN no (as per my PAN Card) is wrong or it isw correct, how to handle these matters and if the no. is wrong in database of Income Tax Department, how it can got corrected as this year i feel there will be some tax refund.Moreover i am also not aware whom to contact in which office of Income Tax.
