I was travelling to Toronto with Jet Airways Flight which I boarded on[protected] from Hyderabad. The Connecting Flight was cancelled at the Transit Airport at Brussels, Belgium. I was made to stay there in Airport for 24 hours. Airline neither assisted in getting Transit Visa and make me stay at a hotel nor they arranged any lounge to spend the night there in airport. At last, I was made to stay in an open area of the Airport outside of security check-in. I lost my Engagement Ring which I was wearing. I held Airline responsible for this loss and have written to them at all levels but I am not being responded. The conversation with the Airline is attached below for ready reference. Also, I have attached the pics of the place where we were made to stay.

Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to inform you about the bad or I would say, the ugly experience I went through while flying to Toronto by Jet Airways. I boarded the flight on 14th from Hyderabad. At the Transit station of Brussels, the flight got cancelled and I along with many passengers kept stranded at the Airport for 24 hours.
Yesterday, I discovered that engagement ring that I was wearing was not there with me. I tried to find it in the hotel but could not. On seeing the pics I took when I just entered to Toronto, I am able to see that my ring is not there in the pics.
With this, I reached the conclusion that it happened during the period I stayed at Brussels airport.
When the flight got cancelled, we were told to submit the passports for arranging the Visas for staying at some hotel outside. After some time, we were told that VISAs' could not be arranged and were asked to proceed towards a section out of the security area in the airport where some beds were laid for us to spend our night there.
For the loss of my engagement ring, I held the Airline responsible as they were not able to provide the safe place to spend the night at the airport and ask for the compensation of INR 30000 for this.

This has reference to your email on 27th October, 2015 sharing with us the experience at Brussels Airport on 14th October, 2015.
We deeply regret the unforeseen cancellation of flight 9W 230 from Brussels to Toroonto which affected your travel plan. As you are aware that we were compelled to cancel the flight due to a bird hit that damaged the aircraft engines and the aircraft had to be grounded.
We attempted to assist the guests in the best possible manner, however, the Visa restrictions refrained us from offering hotel accommodation. We tried transferring the guests on other flights as much as possible based on the seat availability. Very regretfully we had no option but to offer you the next day flight to Toronto. As the cause for the delay was beyond Jet airways control, we are unable to offer any compensation for this delay.
It is very unfortunate that you lost your engagement ring as has been reported by you. As much as we understand your grave disappointment about the same, I request your understanding that the airline is not liable for this reported loss. The ring was in your personal possession.
Mr. Arora, airline operations depend upon many external and safety related factors and hence our schedules are subject to change and onward connections are not guaranteed in our conditions of contract.
We do trust that you will not let this experience influence your future travels with us and will give us future opportunities to be of service to you. It is and will always be our privilege and pleasure to welcome you on board our flights and to have you as our frequent flyer.

Dear Manasi,
Thank you for providing the response. But I believe that VISA was not even applied for me as many in the same flight were granted the VISA and therefore the safe Hotel Accommodation to spend the night over there. I again reiterate that the safe accommodation was not arranged and I was made to spend 24 hours in the airport and provided a place at the airport outside the security area, the reason for my personal loss.

Dear Manasi and Jet Airways,
It is not easy to get away with your responsibilities by NOT responding to the customer grievance. Please refer my previous mails. You have not provided Safe Accommodation at Brussels Airport that led to the loss of my Wedding Ring. I claimed INR 30, 000 from the Airline for the loss. If not responded correctly, I will approach to the appropriate level to my capacity.

I had travelled to Bangalore from Europe (international weight allowance is around 23kgs) and then Jet Airways decided to sting me for having 22 kgs when I was on an internal flight from Bangalore to Chennai as their allowance was 15 kgs.
Why have Jet Airways done this - move away from the international standards?
This means every passenger from international flight has to pay them a ransom
Well done Jet Airways you have found a fail proof system of fleecing people !!!
