The ktm service center gives very hopeless services it been a month my bike ktm duke 250 was totally damaged as manufacturing defect i was successful in claiming the warranty but the think is that on 13 nov 2017 i gave my bike to ktm service center and the date was 28 nov 2017 for returning my bike but yet my bike is not done everytime i just went to service center the always gave me the reason that they have order my part an told me within 1 week of december they will ready my bike and while in first week i went to get my bike they told me that my engine is totally damaged and i have to wait for again 13 days.

    I had purchased a bike i. E. Ktm duke 390 2017 on 12th june 2017.

    Post 3 months of purchasing a defect has been identified regarding the engine.

    Engine oil pressure low pops up on the tft screen event after getting it checked at the authorised ktm service centre for 6 times. Whenever i gave it to them to recheck at the service centre they keep the bike for almost 4 - 5 days and post check up the same defect pops again.

    Bike is still under warranty. It's been only 6 months i have purchased it.

      I have buyied the vechile on 30/08/2017 and from the new few days i have face the problem of clutch. I have gone to them regarding this issue they tighten and lossen the clutch again and again and said that if it happens again we will change and even they not written this issue in there paper.
      And after 1 months the one clutch plate does not work and then they are saying that you have to pay for it. Even from the buying day the headlight nickle is also coming out. The carbon filter is not working properly.

        Dear sir,
        I write this mail with utmost disappointment and regret as there are certain matters that need to be brought to your immediate attention.
        I had purchased a brand new ktm duke 390 from khivraj motors, indiranagar branch, bangalore on the 29th of july 2017.

        Since it was a saturday and the rto would not be able to register the vehicle that day, i was told it would go for registration on the following monday (31st july 2017).
        As soon as i was handed over the bike on 29th july 2017, i went straight to the fuel station to fill up the tank. The petrol pump was less than 3kms from the showroom where i picked up the bike.in the little distance i rode, i realized that there was definitely something wrong with the handling of the bike. I immediately went back to the showroom and notified this issue to mr naveen and mr. Edwin in the showroom who were the managers of the above mention showroom branch. I had clearly stated that there is a strong pull on one side. Mr naveen took my bike for a ride and realized that this was true. I stated that since the bike had not even been registered, please give me another bike rather than fixing this one, because i didn’t want to get a bike that i have owned for half an hour to go for repairs,
        Nor mr. Naveen nor did anyone else at the showroom heed my advice and refused to do so. They went ahead and registered the vehicle on monday anyway. They told me that the pull i was feeling on the bike is a small issue and will be fixed within no time. They gave me excuses that since the old duke had an under-belly exhaust and the new one had an exhaust on the side, hece there is definitely a weight imbalance issue (Indirectly they were telling me that ktm had probably not done their r&d).
        Since mr. Naveen refused to be even slightly co-operative i decide to call and speak to mr. Edwin, who inturn assured me that the issue will be sorted out during my 1st service. I kept telling them that the 1st service would happen 1000kms later and it would do further damage if i continued till then. So they told me to bring the bike to the kasturba road service centre on that coming saturday. I was told it is a very small issue that just need a little adjustment. I was extremely unhappy with the idea of taking a brand new bike to the service centre for repairs but sice no one cooperated with me i had no other option but to take it to the service centre.
        When i took the vehicle to the kasturba road service center, i was assured that they will not be opening up the entire bike but just align and rectify the weight imbalance. They gave me irrational excuses that ‘my tyre pressure was imbalanced’ and hence i was facing this issue.in spite of that, they opened up the front fork assembly and temporarily sorted it out. During this temporary fixing they did a vey crude job with putting it back together. They forgot to tighten basic nuts and bolts. I took the bike from the service centre and realized my mirror was loose, the rubber paddings on the handle weren’t fixed properly and my front guards on the handlebar was freely rotating. Nevertheless to say the same imbalance issue started acting up again in a day or two.
        Back to square one, i had to go through the same begging and pleading to fix my new bike. The next week i was asked to come to the service center again for this issue. This time they said ‘my handlebar was bent’ and they decided to replace that. I was very sure it wasn’t a handlebar issue but i didn’t want to argue with them as i thought they knew what they were doing. By the end of it they fixed a new handlebar but the issue was still persistent and the handlebar change made absolutely no difference.
        By this time the bike had done about 500kms and i realized that the issue was getting worse. To this they said please finish the initial riding-in period and give it for first service. They will check through everything and sort this issue completely.
        At this point i contacted mr. Sambhav, who was working in the kasturba road service center. Mr. Sambhav is an immediate relative of the owners of khivraj bajaj. Atleast then i thought it would be fixed. Mr. Sambhav said asked me to bring back the bike to the service centre and very confidently said it will be fixed immediately and he assured me that i will not have any more issues. When i did bring it in to the service center they opened up the entire front fork assembly and everything else they wanted to. Sad to say the issue wasn’t sorted but my bike was left with more crude scrapes and scratches due to their extremely crude workmanship. By this time the bike had done its running in, till now the bike had never gone above 70kmph as i was very careful with maintaining my vehicle. I had to do 100kms on a new bike with utmost unhappiness that it was getting stressful to even ride the bike constantly sitting at an angle and with the bike pulling to one side. The tyres also started wearing out unevenly and the chain sprocket started wearing out due to the imbalance.
        Once the running in was complete and i could ride it over 7500rpm, i decided to take it out on the highway. This is when matters got even worse. I realized that the pull was getting stronger and stronger and was impossible to stabilize the bike in most situations. Also the engine started heating up excessively, the ecu started displaying errors and the front console started misbehaving as and when it felt apt. I would get errors on the console saying “ecu failure” and the bike would randomly stop and not start for a while, the lights would randomly switch off whenever it felt like, i started getting errors saying “abs failure”.
        At this point i was very stern with mr sambhav, mr. Rakesh and mr. Anand at the kasturba road service centre. I had made it very clear to them that this issue is getting worse, the bike is having all sorts of errors and the entire suspension as sinking on one side. I also told them that this is a risk to my life and it could cause accidents in future if not rectified immediately. This was a risk to my life and also to other commuters on the road. They did not bother, nor were they concerned that they were putting my life in danger along with the other passengers if something goes wrong. They did not even acknowledge my concern.
        They would take my bike and mess it up more in the name of “fixing it”. I was also caused a lot of inconvenience as i had no transport and had to use public transport (Such as ola or uber) this was also an expensive affair that i had to face just because they kept my bike and i had to pay a lot for my transportation. I wouldn’t have minded it if the issue was sorted. But no, the issue was not sorted, instead it became worse, i also started having issue with the slipper clutch, it wasn’t working as a slipper clutch but instead was locking up my rear wheel during downshifting. Also, the rmp would rise in a jiffy but took a long time to come back down when i left the throttle. This was a clear issue of the clutch. On highways on an open road the bike refused to go over 135kmph. This was a major letdown. Not that i wanted to go over those speeds, but just to know that the bike wasn’t performing the way it normally should. The engine started heating up excessively and i would get errors saying “engine temp high”. I complained about it, but the service centre did nothing about it, as usual.
        After reaching this state i was unable to use my bike and had to be left in my parking lot because the service center refused to do anything about it. It was completely unusable.
        When i mentioned this to the kasturba road service center they again asked me to come and give it for service (I had lost count of the number of times this bike has gone to the service center in a span of 2 months).
        Very disappointing to say that they did not fix it properly even then.

        As a result of this negligence of ktm and khivraj bajaj, on the 23rd of novenver, i was riding and the bike suspension sank on one side and the bike lost control and i was forced to meet with an accident. I was left with a lot of injuries as a result.
        This is where i draw the line as there is no limit to the lack of quality service form ktm and khivraj bajaj. Neglegance was all i was provide with after complining so much. I had shown them enough proof of all the above mentioned issues. They accepted the issues were true but still did nothing about it even then. They are extremely lethargic and uninterested in their work, the heed no advice and concerns from customers, they don’t care if people’s lives are at risk even. They lack basic humanity.

        Hence i have filed a complaint with the national consumer redressal forum.
        Complaint number 517393.
        I would like this matter to be sorted at the earliest.
        The following is what i require compensated:
        · i would like my bike to be replaced with a new one. I do not want it fixed. I want it replaced.
        · i would like to be compensated for the inconvenience caused due to my medical injuries.
        · i would like to be compensated for the inconvenience caused due to lack of transport when the service center had taken my vehicle for days and i had no transport.
        · i would like to be compensated for the inconvenience caused due to my current transportation situation as i have no transport and have to pay for auto/cabs on a daily basis.
        · i would like to be compensated for all the other damages caused to me during the accident.
        · i would also like to be compensated for the inconvenience and the cost of filing this case in the national consumer redressal forum.

        All the proof of my conversations with the above mentioned people and photographs of the bike issues have been attached along with this mail. I have also attached images of my injuries caused due to the accident.

        I request you to take this matter with utmost priority and resolve it. I would be highly obliged if this could be sorted out at the earliest as i can not afford to spend more money taking cabs for transportation.

          Duke 200 meter problems
          I am facing problem of ignition/meter in my duke200. I had show that problem at ktm workshop aurangabad but they are not solving my problem. Still my bike is in warranty.             Ktm duke 200 needed service and there were complaints about brakes binding and nuisance high coolant temperature warning when headlight is switched on. Also broken rear turn indicator. The service centre said only motul 7100 oil is available as they are not allowed to put in anything else. Although till date at all my service visits ive been offered servo oil which is one third the price. I agreed to this.

            Received a call in two days that bike was ready for pickup. Saw that the bike was not even washed. I was billed for service, oil, filters and chain lube, clutch cable replacement and electrical wiring repair.

            Clutch cable had not been replaced so got them to strike it off, since i have k&n reusable filter, i asked them to remove air filter from bill. For lack of washing, they said it is complimentary service not covered under service. Brakes still sticky because spares not available. Likewise for turn indicator. Worst part was that they gave me the bike with a dead battery. Now imagine brakes binding badly and they offer to do a jump start and i should take the bike home. If the bike stops in between due to brake stuck, i cant even start the engine and with sticky brakes i cant even push it. I was frustrated enough to take the bike away. But will forever remember the treatment. Ready to race but never ready for customer service. Dont ever buy ktm.

              My duke 200 about 10 months old has a problem with the front alloy wheels .when informed to the showroom they told me that they will not allow any warranty to my broken alloy .its not the first time that they are denying my warranty .so kindly do the need and fix this issue as early as possible .hope that you will take the necessary action and will fix my problem as early as possible.

                I gave my bike in marathahalli showroom (Khivraj), bangalore, since my bike had throttle problem, without any proper diagnosis, they changed the whole throttle body which costed me 7000rs. But even after that, the problem did not get fixed. Now i have given my bike in mekhri circle since they were more promising and well behaved. It is going to cost me another 10k since they are running the diagnosis on the whole bike including engine.
                Khivraj motors marathahalli has to refund the amount because ktm has promised that a spare part will be changed only if it would resolve a particular issue. Now that this spare comes around 6k and including labor and othef charges, close to 7k, they should have ran a proper diagnosis which they did not.
                All the related documents for this issue can be obtained from the job card of the bike in any ktm showroom. Bike number - ka04hl1544.

                  Bought a bike less than 48 hours ago on saturday get it home plastic is trashed scratched to hell front fender looked like they cleaned it with contact cleaner so i said to lady need you to send me new plastic have pics will send them she said you can send them but i’m not sending you anything rude too so i️ called her a # which she was spend 9000 grand cash and my bike is unacceptable looks like someone dug into radiator shrouds so i️ stead of working with me she gives me attitude i’ll be getting plastic or dropping the bike off and buying a ya 250 never been treated like this from any of the japanese company’s never buy a ktm again customer service sucks

                    Ktm is the best motorcycle money can buy but people with very low knowledge about ktm bikes are doing very bad service at ktm alappuzha. The service head has the most worst & arrogant behavior towards customers. They never care to replace things under warranty and make us believe that the part is fine. I had noticed a break on my airfilter box and when i took the bike to showroom for replacing airfilter box under warranty, they said its fine and you will have no issues with it. As soon as the warranty is over they said it's broken and just applied m-seal.

                      Hi everyone.
                      This is the second time i am on this page giving a complaint about the service providing by the service centre in kolar as i have give my duke 200 at the service station for a general service and to fix the problems.
                      But the people over there have juat change the engine oil and the basic things on the bike and havent checked anything else.
                      I have got my bike after the service and my igniyion switch was not working.
                      I have called them and they asked me to wait for 1 or 2 days to get a new switch.
                      I have waited for that and it has been replaced.
                      And now the oil from the shock observer and from the engine is leaking out which is very pathetic.
                      I am maintaing the bike in such a way that i will not even drive bike if it is reached the desired kms for the service.
                      But now the shockobservers which were obsolutely fine is leaking now.
                      I am not ready to go to ssrvice centre everyday to get it repaired as its not local made.
                      I need a quick respone on this if not this will be into a different scenario.

To be frnk my clutch plate creating problem, so oprator tell me that clutch equipment[gasket clutch, clutch center pressure, kit fric plates] want to change... I m ready to give equipment charge.. Bt llb charge is ecceptable... Bcoz thats my first service...

                          Hi ktm,
                          I'm the owner of duke 200 purchased bike 12months back (2016 november). From starting onwards, i have been facing this self starting issue. I had bad experiences like while i'm going for a long drive if i stopped the bike anywhere, the bike's self start getting stop working and shows low battery indication. If i'm trying to start it again it throws an error stating error jg_1.7.7 message. Every time i get back my bike to the service center and they did some repair and resolve the issue temporarily but issue persists.
                          I am getting paid for every service especially for the replacement of parts even though i had warranty.
                          So kindly understand my problem and try to resolve this and give me a permanent solution.

                          Please file a case on this and keep update me.

                            I have come for my ktm390 first service at ktm kirti nagar (Bagga link) on 9 november 2017 at 9:30. The job card was made at 10 as there is no supervisor to attend the vehicle. At 11:30 my bike got washed that means in 1:30 hrs. While there are only 4-5 bikes for servicing. Till 13:30 my bike was standing idle. While complaining to the designated guy, he said sir its lunch time now will get it done after that. Till 15:00 i didnt gt my bike delivered. Worst experience i have ever faced in two wheeler service centre where staff is too casual in their work.

                              Hello Sir,

                              I am an Owner of KTM RC[protected]. Currently my bike covered 22500 Km in two and a half year. My bike has started giving out white smoke from exhaust. I am frequent visitor to authorized KTM workshop regarding servicing and maintenance. A month ago i reported this issue to KTM, they asked me to get my bike checked and they told me its an engine issue and engine work needed to be done. I want to ask you, is this the quality of KTM product, that with frequent and timely service, bike couldn't even last the warranty claimed 30K mark.What is the left on my side that engine is exhausted at such an early stage? I have always get my serviced on timely interval, used premium high octane petrol.

                              It is pretty evident that the quality of KTM is not up-to the mark. I have spent 2.5L INR on the bike and as soon as the warranty period is over the engine life is also over.
                              Who is responsible for such poor quality?

                              Please look into the matter.

                              I bought KTM RC390 bike in 2015 and clocked 22500 Km so far. Even with proper and timely servicing from KTM Authorized service station(kirti nagar bagga link), my bike's engine is torn out giving white smoke which is really bad for environment. There engine quality is so pathetic that engine is needing over haul at such an early stage. They are not even entertaining this issue. I am sure many of my fellow KTM rider were experiencing similar issue. i have spent 2.5L on the bike and bike couldn't even last 3 years/ 30K Km. I told service station people to provide me in written what all is wrong with my bike, they denied to write anything on there letterhead. They are not even providing the escalation matrix so that i can complaint to desired/concerned people in proper hierarchy. I have contacted them several times but they are literally not listening to my grievances.

                              They are charging premium amount for their products and delivering really pathetic quality. KTM bikes have serious quality issues.They might have emission issue as well. @NGT Please look into the matter as many of their bikes might not even be clearing the Emission norms as similar engine issue might be facing by many KTM fellow riders.
                              I would like you to please look into this serious matter of quality concern.

I want to ask you, is this the quality of KTM product, that with frequent and timely service, bike couldn't even last the warranty claimed 30K mark.What is the left on my side that engine is exhausted at such an early stage? I have always get my serviced on timely interval, used premium high octane petrol.

                              It is pretty evident that the quality of KTM is not up-to the mark. I have spent 2.5L INR on the bike and as soon as the warranty period is over the engine life is also over.
                              Who is responsible for such poor quality?

                              I received a call from KTM Kirti Nagar Service station asking me to pay a visit and let them check what is the problem.
                              I went to the service station today and after three hours of delay they confirmed that there is a issue in the engine.By White smoke they already knew that piston and rings will be replaced. By checking the engine oil they found out only 1200ml was left in the engine after 950 km since my bike's last service.

                              They want me to allow them to dismantle the engine and then check what all parts are faulty. Advised solution they come up with was half engine work like piston and rings will be replaced and they also told me the expected expense of 12-30 thousand INR. Whose is going to pay that much amount for the faulty, mediocre quality product?

                              It turned out that there is a serious flaw in the quality of KTM Product. The bike could not even managed to touch the claimed 30, 000 KM warranty mark in-spite of regular and timely service at authorized service station.

                              My bike is only 2 years 9 month old. Does it mean that as soon as the warranty period is over, bike is a piece of scrap?

                              what is the reason of such degraded quality you are providing?

                              Please arrange a solution at the earliest.

I never expected such pathetic quality from a brand like KTM. I regret my decision to buy a bike from KTM's brand name.
                              You are demanding such a premium price for such a pathetic machine which doesnt even last 50K Km. Even the relatively cheaper bikes perform well then my KTM RC 390 in term of engine life.
                              Please do something to address my problem.

                                Two months before i got a heavy noise while driving so took it to the service station they opened and said engine oil and coolent got mixed to need to change some spares and takes 20+ days and it will come under warranty.

                                I checked the status after 15 days they told it will take another 10 days because some parts have not reached them, and told me once the bike gets ready the message will come and will call you and inform.

                                But they called me last week and said i need to pay some advance, i said i'll come and pay them but when i checked the show room today still the bike is not ready they not even started the work and they are adding fake complaints to the vehicle and not informed me about the advance in last 2 months

                                No statement of work is there no products were ordered for my vehicle completed cheating is happening

                                Kindly take immediately action and i'm going to file legal case against them.

                                  Hi, i bought my bike in the month of may 2017. On the very first day i faced a problem in sensor and all the lights in the display were on.                                     Worst service provider for ktm on emergency we asked for oil filter they said it's not available that to i asked for 200ns oil filter they have stock said they should give to sub dealers! They are telling they cannot provide ktm spares as counter sales, i got the ktm genuine oil filter in local spares shop attaching the photos as proof!!

                                      My KTM 390 duke had been serviced by KTM authorised dealers Rockline Automobiles, 12269.However the problem recurred again after a fortnight while I was on a long distance drive from Bangalore -Kanyakumari- Rameshwara-Bangalore.

                                      It was absolutely very annoying when the servicing done has not rectified the issue and I had to face the same problem again.

                                        Bought new ktm 250 cc bike on 7th april and done 3 service as of now. On each service i am keep on complaining about bike performance and noise at the back side of the bike but they are not responding properly and they used to inform us that we will look into it on next service. I have visited 3 different service center (8th main, raj kumar road and kastura baa road)

                                        As i am working, i will not get frequent leaves but still i put leave and give my bike to service but still we are not getting proper response from ktm showroom.

                                        Below i listed my problems,

                                        Poor performance :- initial pickup was very slow compared to other normal bikes and maximum speed is also limited to 129 km/hr.

                                        Noise :- form the starting i am getting noise from some part of bike and on each service i used to inform same to the service center people but after 3 service also i am getting same noise.

                                        On each service they inform we will rectify it on next service but i am not getting good service each time.

                                        Hope you understood the problem and i want this to be resolved asap.
