4.Complaint. I, Asha Bimal Bhatt, residing at D/65,Indira Park Society,
B/H Mother's School, Gotri Road, Vadodara, purchased MAH XYLO E8 m-Eagle
BS 3 2WD 8FF ABS Car, with clearcut mention of Spare Wheel. To my
dismay, I found that the spare wheel is Stainless Steel rim instead of
usual ALLOY Wheel. Problem: If I have punctured wheel on highway, how
would I drive the topend car with such SS wheel. That means I have to
take the wheel home and change the wheel and once again come back to the
site and change the wheel. When I have purchased the topend model,car,
does this look good from an aesthetic point of view. Company has
supplied all FIVE alloy wheels to all previous models of Xylo. Moreover,
the Company has not made any mention of SS Wheel as spare wheel in any
of their documents, the copies of which are enclosed. They have shortly
mentioned Spare : YES. But not which one. I have been supplied 4 alloy
wheels and one steel wheel. I have argued with this matter with Carvel
Pvt. Ltd., and their version is that they have received the said car as
it is from the Mahindra & Mahindra, and they have not changed the
spare wheel. Our plea is that Consumer Forum request the M & M to
replace the S.S riml sparewheel with alloy wheel. If they refuse to do
so, please take necessary action on behalf of the consume. Please do

Let me make you understand our situation.
At 5:30 am we left mumbai on 23rd
At 8:45 am we had engine failure lovcation satara highway near katraj.
At 9:25 we were able to connect to with you hamesha helpline
At 1pm the technician fron shayadri motor who was as helpless as us.
At 2:30 pm the we arranged for tow truck to take us to silver jubilee
At bieng stranded on a highway for 6 hours at 3:30 pm we reach silver jubilee
After the car was brought to silver jubilee at 3:30pm on 23-12-11 we were told the car will be fine in a few minutes, the minute they connect the smart computer they will figure the problem and sort it out. But till 10:30 in the night they could not even figure out what the problem was, everything from jets to commonrail to bad fuel were told. In a situation of engine faliure like ours which is when i was overtaking at a speed of 100kmph on a expressway with no power steering or power brakes we were lucky that we almost missed an accident.At 10:30 pm without having any food and water and being on our toes for nearly 17 hours me and my wife asked them if they are not able to fix it, then they can help ur arrange for a trailer so we can take the car back to mumbai and we were told and assured by md aman walia that the car will definitely be repaired in the following morning and they only need 2 more hours to troubleshoot the problem so we decided to get a hotel as it was not a comfortable place for a lady to be, due to late in the night being an industrial area we could not find any transport means so we were dropped to a hotel by the courtesy shuttle.. Next day we kept calling them from 11am to get update of the cars status and they kept saying one more hour one more hour.
At 2:45pm on 24thdec and after waiting 15 man hours of mahindra technicians and the smart computer at silver jubilee working and trying to figure out what was actually wrong with my xylo's and having wasted precious time and a lot of money being stuck in a city we don't know anyone in we had to take a call knowing that Christmas night would be impossible to get a hotel room we decided of taking the piece of junk back to mumbai. With no help from the service center who kept saying that the car will get okay although having troubleshooted all possible procedures with no results we had to arrange a flatbed trawler, getting the number from yellowpages.
The heavy price we had to pay due to mahindras incompetent system procedure to handle a situation like our is to the tune of;
1. Hotel booked at peak season 5000rs
2. tow truck from breakdown spot to silver jubilee 1800rs
3. taxi back to silver jubilee 500rs
4. flatbed trailer back to mumbai from pune 12000rs
5. holiday home booking at goa 6000rs per day
The so called procedure of mahindra is very misleading for any helpless stranded customer, the customer should be told that there are very complicated procedure to be follow once the smart computer detects the problem that it could take 15 minutes to rectify or it could take 2 to 3 days so the stranded transiting helpless customer can mentally prepare themselves and can decide if its worth going through more hassle of not knowing when or if the car can be repaired at the biggest service center in pune or just call a toll truck and head back to their own city.
The irony of the situation and our holiday ruined is not due to the failing of my machine which caused us so much physical and financial agony, its the people assigned to do their job who have failed us.
Pls look into the matter as you are the only hope for me now.
