My co-passenger and I had booked our flight on MakeMyTrip under the student saver scheme, we had provided our institute ID details and such. The scheme promised us 25Kgs of check-in baggage.
But the airlines refused to let us carry 25Kgs, and asked us to pay for the extra luggage above 15Kgs. We informed them that MakeMyTrip has provided us the 25Kgs information, but the ticket mysteriously only reflected our student IDs but did not reflect the 25Kgs that the App clearly shows while booking the ticket, and paid ticket only showed allowance of 15Kgs of check-in baggage.
When we checked our flight details after the journey in the MakeMyTrip App, it is clearly shown that we were allowed 25kgs of check-in baggage.
But when we contacted the customer care of MakeMyTrip, they did not help us at all, and we had to pay almost 10k (We are students) from our pockets which we had to borrow from sources to meet the high amount charged.
They are unresponsive to any form of communication that we have initiated. We want a refund for the money we had to pay because of the wrong information and wrong claims by MakeMyTrip. If they can't deliver on the promises made by their schemes, they should not offer them and extort economically challenged sections such as students.
MakeMyTrip India customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.
