best price guarantee offer denied

Hi, i made a booking online on makemytrip under the best price guarantee. At the time of booking, it stated that if you find cheaper fare then we will reimburse 10 times the amount. After that i found that there was a lower fare available on another site. I called up makemytrip and asked them about the same and the best price guarantee. They told me about the terms and conditions wherein if you use any discount coupon code, you dont stand...

Dear sir,

I am following shiv yog life and try to attend shivers being organized in various cities of india. One such 9 day shiver was planned at hydrabad from 29th sep, 19 to 7th oct, 19. Therefore i planned to visit hydrabad and made flight reservation. For bhopal to hydrabad & return to bhopal by spice jet through makemytrip company at rs.7010/. While i checked my name was written as sunanda sunanda instead of sunanda chavhan. I requested makemytrip & also spicejet to varify my authentic id's and make correct the typographical mistake in ticket and or to take care of me to allow in flight. Both agencies ask to rebook the ticket and apply for refund but indicated that as per rule there may not be any refund to you.

I therefore booked another return ticked at rs. 6687/- with same flight sg-1267 & sg-1268.

However due to cancellation of the hydrabad shiver i have to cancel these return tickets also & i inform them immidiatey and applied for cancellation & refund of balance charges after deducting cancellation charges through email dtd 9th sep, 19. I have not been considered for refund of any amount by makemytrip or spice jet.

I request you to kinly take_up this matter with these 2 companies to compensate me suitably.

Ref : my 2 return journey tickets from bhopal to hydrabad against booking id - nf[protected] & id – nf[protected].

Dear sir,

I am sunanda chavhan, female, dob 9th, oct 1947. I was registered to attend a shivyog shivir at hydrabad from 29th sep to 7th oct 2019 therefore i approached makemytrip for my return journey from bhopal to hydrabad.

1. Regarding my booking id nf[protected] i wish to submit that my ticket was issued in the name of ‘sunanda sunanda`. Though the name was spelled correctly but written twice due to typographical mistake probably at your or spice jet or my end. I was asked by your office to cancel this ticket and rebook another. While i have booked another ticket, my this ticket amounting to rs. 7010/- issued with id nf[protected] may please be cancelled & after deducting the cancellation charges the balance amount be refunded to my account.

2. I booked another ticket through you makemytrip again with booking id nf[protected] to attend the shivir. It was informed that shivir event is cancelled. Therefore this ticket amouting to rs. 6687/- may also be cancelled & after deducting cancellation amount balance amount be refunded to my account.

I request you to please take an early action to refund the due amount to me.

    Had made a booking on mmt for my anniversary from 21st nov till 23 nov 2019. This booking was covered under my doubleblack membership (Which they ask people to pay for) and also had free cancellation from the hotel till 20th november 2019. However, when i cancelled this booking on 12th september, to my horror only 218 rupees were credited back, however as per mmt they had processed refund of full amount of inr 8, 148. Upon contacting the support through chat i was told that i will get the balance amount is 24-48 hours. After waiting again and contacting them after 4 days i was told to wait another 24 hours and also was given an assurance that the refund amount will be credited the same day on 18th september. However, that also did not happen, upon calling them, i was told by customer support that the full refund has been credited to mycash wallet of mmt and the balance of my account that is around inr 8, 200. But i was able to see only inr 218 in the mycash wallet, and some amount in rewards bonus which was already there before this booking. After multiple time of telling this person that i cannot see this balance either in the app or website, this guy finally told me that maybe my email id and number is not verified so that is why this error is coming. All logic and common sense had already lost its way according to me as i have been using this email and number on mmt since more than 6-7 years. Infact, the doubleblack membership also is under the same ids. However, after still trying to tell them that everything is verified and i still cant see my refund, he took down a service request and promised a callback in 24 hours. After the expiry of 24 hours i contacted again and had gone through multiple long holds and explanations of the issue, i was told and promised by a lady that callback will happen by end of day on 19th sept. The callback never happened but late night around 11:30 pm i get a message saying that the issue has been resolved. I checked for the refund and by wallet balance, but no change was there. Again now at late night i called them up, this gentleman kept telling me that the mycash balance is over inr 8, 000, and i kept telling him that the app and website both show the balance to be around inr 218. Then, this person asked me for a screenshot my balance and promised a call back within 24 hours. I had shared the required screenshots on mails, but no callback happened. Again called them on 20th sept. Was again asked for a screenshot same story. Today, after over 11 days of the cancellation i finally got a call from mmt and they informed that they cannnot do anything about this since i had used mycash balance for this booking which i had earned through mmt rewards and which expire in 3 months. This amount was credited on 19 may 2019 and i used it within the expiration date on 19th august 2019. Total amount was utilized by me as per the policy stated by mmt. Now they tell me, that though i can cancel the booking and claim full refund but this amount will not be reflected as it has already expired. Firstly, that does not make sense as i have already utilized the amount. Secondly, at the time of cancellation this is not mentioned anywhere in the cancellation process, throughout i was made to believe that full refund will be credited. Thirdly, this policy is no where written on any mmt doubleblack membership cancellation or black membership usage terms and conditions. I has been a horrible journey to explain the entire ordeal again to mmt staff, they seem to only interested in defrauding the customers, through false schemes and promises.       I have asked delete my mmt account to mmt support. At first they told me it will be deleted soon and after several mails they told me that the account got deleted but when i try login, login was successful and was able to see my trips and all. Then i mailed the same saying account still exists but they stopped responding to my mails. I got fed up mailing them they are not responding. Please do something about this issue.

        I have created 3 mmt accounts accidentally. That's why whenever i am trying to attach email id to the account i use, it's saying email i'd is already in use.           My money got deducted on 19th september when i was booking a hotel and till now i do not get the refund. I contacted mmt customer care, they told me that the booking was failed due to some technical issues when i asked about my money they suggested me to contact to the bank. But the bank told me that they could not do anything as the payment was done using the upi of the mmt. Now whom to contact to get my money back?

            Complaint regarding wrongfully / illegal cancellation of my hotel and air travel bookings and inclusion of cancellations of hotel and air travel bookings of other unknown persons against my mmt account for the purpose of refund adjustment for bookings which have not been made by me and breach of my private security of mmt account

            Dear sir,
            1. 1. I am mmt user for last many years and i am also a mmt black customer for last two consecutive years.

            2. I wish to bring to your notice that w. E. F. 00.32 am on 20/09/2019, i received a series of message of cancellations of my air travel bookings with mmt. Since i was awake being at hyderabad airport i could immediately contact mmt helpline at 00.39 am on 20/09/2019 and informed the helpline executive about theses cancellations which were not initiated by me and requested to restore them. The executive after some time confirmed that he was able to restore my immediate flight that is 0435 indigo flight (Booking id - nf[protected] with pnr - facqd8v) scheduled from hyderabad to delhi and for the balance of the cancelled flights he informed me that he has raised a complaint which would be looked into at later timer frame and they would be resolved within 72 hours. Details of other cancelled flights are as under:
            A. Delhi to bagdogra (Return flight) - 28/09/2019 and 02/10/2019. (Booking id - nf-[protected])
            B. Bagdogra to delhi flight (Return flight) – 24/10/2019 and 29/10/2019. (Booking id - nf[protected])

            3. At 00.52 am, on 20/09/2019 indigo informed me about cancellation of my boarding pass of the 0435 flight (Pnr - facqd8v) from hyderabad to new delhi inspite of the fact that i had checked in and cleared my security also.

            4. I once again called mmt helpline around 1.09 am on 20/09/2019 seeking your help. However inspite of best of my efforts, the executive could only advise me to buy a new ticket at my own cost and wait for the resolution of my problem in next 72 hours. Having no other option i bought a new ticket and travelled to delhi in the same flight of indigo (Pnr-yfl2rf)

            5. On landing at delhi i received a message around 6.40 am, on 20/09/2019 that the balance amount of payment for my hotel booking at ludhiana from 22/09/2019 to 23/09/2019 has been deducted which was followed by a message that my request for cancellation and refund has been processed. (Booking id - nh[protected].

            6. I once again called mmt help line around 7.00 am on 20/09/2091 and informed the executive that i have not made any request for refund/cancellation. However once again the only answer i could get that mmt will revert back to me in next 72 hours as this matter pertains to technical team.

            7. Once i returned home and opened my mmt account, to my horror i found that not only my air and hotel bookings were cancelled but also there were other cancellations of some unknown persons which was shown in my account and the meagre refund received by me for the illegal cancellations of my booking was adjusted against these unknown cancellation bookings which were not done from my mmt account/myself. The details of booking ids of these unknown booking cancellations are as under:

            I. Nh[protected]
            Ii. Nf [protected]
            Iii. Nn[protected]
            Iv. Nf [protected]
            V. Round trip hyderabad to houstan 15/11/19 – 17/01/20

            8. I once again called mmt helpline around 11.00 am and informed the executive about these facts which she confirmed the facts narrated by me and also confirmed that i had called up mmt three times earlier to resolve this issue o[censored]nauthorised cancellations. She advised me that it would be taken up on priority and mmt will resolve my problem in next 72 hours.

            9. Having narrated the facts hereinbefore i must report that mmt could not provide any resolution to cater for my immediate help and also the helpline executives though face the brunt of customer anger and are your mouthpiece yet they have very limited authority to resolve problems which may require immediate measures to damage control other aspects like breach of credit card / debit card account credentials which are linked to my mmt account.

            10. Though i have made alternate arrangements for my hyderabad to delhi flight as stated above and also has done a fresh booking for my ludhiana hotel reservation on 22/23/09/2019 as well as my wife return flights from delhi to bagdogra on 28/09/2019 and 02/10/2019 respectively. I request you to investigate the cause of such breach of my account and those of other members of mmt and refund me my entire money at the earliest.in this regard please refer to my calls to your executives as well as my 6 e-mails and chat responses since 00.39 am on 20/09/2019 to resolve my issue on priority.

            11. The above mentioned illegal cancellations of my bookings without any fault at my end has not only caused financial loss to me but also the mental agony and harassment to my family members after receiving cancellation messages at 00.32 am of 20/09/2019. Having put my trust in your company inspite of minor glitches earlier, i am now seriously considering to delink my account from mmt primarily due to the poor damage control measures adopted by ill trained executives of mmt and also inspite of the fact that even after registering my complaint four times with you about loss of my hard earned money and privacy no one from mmt has reverted back to me in 24 hours.

            12. Though i failed to understand the slow and unconcerned response of mmt towards my problem, i am sure at my end that i won’t allow your company to get unjust enriched from an army veteran’s pension. I request you to respond to this email within next 48 hours as promised by your executives, failing which i will exercise legal remedies under crpc and consumer protection act to claim my legitimate damages.

                Bookingid nh[protected], hotel denied check in and said they have no such contract with makemytrip and have mailed mmt for booking cancellation. Mailed and contacted mmt many times, no updates from last week, no refund provess initiated. Mental torture. No one takes up teh issue they just say we will forward to concerned team and arrange call back. Didnt recieve any call backs yet. Pfa email from hotel owner to mmt forhotel cancellation but we were neither informed about it nor refunded the booking amount afterwards. Fraud company

                  I have made 2 hotel booking on 21st of june 2019 and 26th june 2019. The hotel was grand hyatt goa and carvela beach resort goa. While doing the booking i applied a coupon code hdfc10x2 and have made the payment using hdfc black diner credit card, which was successfully applied. Its been 90 days since then but i havent received my hdfc rewards points. On calling the hdfc bank they are saying we havent received any communication from makemytrip about the same. I have called makemytrip customer care many times and everytime they are just saying we will get back to you. Now neither makemytrip is replying nor hdfc. I am losing a lot of money in form of rewards point here. I had other option also to book hotels from other site, but i choose makemytrip and now they are simply troubling consumers like me.

                    I am a black member and was informed by mail that ibwould be exempt from convenience fees
                    On 14/9/2019 i bought an international ticket london - mumbai and return kolkata to london and was charged a convenience fee of rs 1019.00.
                    Please refund this as i am not supposed to be charged any convenience fees per mail sent by you on 26 july 2019 when i became a mmt black member.

                      This is padma vasudevan from bangalore. i had booked my airtickets for october 8th 2019 from blr-cdg, cdg-txl and october31st 2019 from txl-ams, ams-blr through make my trip, booking id nn[protected]. the pnr no.- ljnlkf and e-ticket nos.589-[protected] and 589-[protected]. my cancellation request has been initiated on 19th april 2019. i was told that the refund would take 45 business days. now it is 6 months and so far i have no notification or update on my refund status. Could you kindly expedite and tell me what is the present status and how long would it take for me to get back my refund amount. thanking you in anticipation for an favorable response.

                      We acknowledge your concern and truly understand the inconvenience cause to you on the matter.
                      Would like to update you that we are continuously following up with Jet Airways / concerned authorities for refund against your booking and the moment we receive the amount or any update on the matter, we shall keep you informed.
                      For reference, we have attached the refund application copies which is the proof that refund is pending for approval.
                      We would also like to assure you that MakeMyTrip is not withholding your money and never will. Kindly do note that the issue of refund being awaited from Jet Airways for customers who had future dated bookings with them at the time of discontinuation of operations, is faced by all flyers regardless of where and who they booked their ticket from, including airline's website. We thank you for being supportive with us.
                      For your kind reference, we are sharing below a view of the developments so far -
                      It has been reported widely in the Press that Jet Airways has been placed into bankruptcy protection as of 20 June 2019; and an Interim Resolution Professional (IRP) has been appointed by India’s National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT). MakeMyTrip has filed all details of customer claims due from Jet Airways with NCLT as per the prescribed process. As a result any refunds (full or partial) will now get processed as per the directions of the NCLT.
                      As per the latest update from International Air Transport Association (IATA) which is a trade association representing world’s airlines, it continues to work with the airline to manage the claim process but expects a delay given the bankruptcy filing. Further updates will be provided when additional details become available.
                      So far MakeMyTrip has filed claims of the customers due from Jet Airways with NCLT (National Company Law Tribunal) as per the prescribed process. Refunds will now get processed as per the directions of the NCLT. We will notify you as soon as we hear on the refund status. We sincerely hope you understand and appreciate our limitations in this matter, being an online travel partner and solicit your continued co-operation and patience in this matter.

                        I had a booking through make my trip from new delhi to newark (Booking id nn[protected] on 3rd sept 2019 but due to some personal issues i have to cancel the booking so i talked with make my trip customer care executive to cancel the same, as the cancellation is within same day of booking so there would not be any cancellation charges from airlines end. I requested cancellation on same day and executive confirmed me over phone that the same has been done by him but i have not received any confirmation regarding cancellation on mail or sms on that day. Then after doing many follow ups finally on 12th sept 2019 i spoke to mmt supervisor mr prathamesh where he committed and confirmed us that cancellation has already done and refund will be initiated within 72 hours but still i not get any confirmation on mail or sms. On 18th sept i again talked to mr prathamesh and i shocked to know that he has not initiated refund yet. Today is 20th sept and still make my trip team not responding on our refund status. I had paid ticket charges thru credit card and due date for paying my credit card bill is approaching soon and i am worried when will i get the refund. Need to resolve the issue on urgent based as i am already very harassed by makemytrip team.

                          During the booking of flight ticket at no cost emi the make my trip has stated that intrest amount will be refunded within 21 days. I had not recieved the amount yet. It is now stating that we have to wait three months. It is cheating the customers doing money frauds. When i have contacted the customer support regarding the return of amount they are not responding.

                            I have booked 4 tickets to and fro from hyderabad to jfk thru makemytrip. I was asked to pay rs.3, 19, 072/- which i have paid and i was told that was the best offer. To my utter dismay, seat numbers were not allotted and when i tried to block my seats in etihad flights, i have been advised to pay rs.16, 000/- additionally for allotment of seats. Neither the marketing assistants told me nor the ticket that was sent to me by makemytrip mentions that. I thought makemytrip will be very transparent but this experience of mine is otherwise. Please advise me the next course of action.

                              I made flight booking under ref:nn[protected] for mumba-delhi-kathmandu-mumbai on 11th sept 2019. I used their emi option for payment but when i receive the card statement, no emi is shown and i am asked to pay full amount as per the card statement.

                              Taking up the matter with their chat personnel is not effective since he does not appear to know the process.

                              A mail has been received and it is surprising they ask for details on EMI. This proves that this company has no record of type of Payment and EMI option at site may be bogus to lure customers and fool them. In any merchant site the EMI option is executed automatically within 3 to 5 days as per my experience with Amazon, Reliance Digita, Croma, Flipkart and so on.

                              This company appears to be in a mess. They could not clarify why EMI is not done and the customer care just informs it will take 15-20 working days (But they will not work) and just passes time. Now I have to convert to EMI with the Bank paying heavy processing fees and Interest @ 16%. This company claimed no processing charges and while booking EMI option Chatged me extra Rs 3320. All money lost in booking a ticket through this company due to fraudulent payment options to earn extra money.

                                I have paid all amount for my booking I'd mentioned above.

                                I have not received tax invoice, so yesterday I asked for that from MMT. Executive told me that Rs 1250 is pending to pay.

                                I have paid total amount then why they are asking to pay Rs 1250.

                                Also MMT is unable to provide invoice showing infant charges separately.

                                  I booked a oyo room thru mmt for my friend. The stay starts from 18th sept, 2019 (Tomorrow) to 25th sept, 2019. When i called the hotel to inform late check-in, i was informed by the hotel that they no longer have contract with oyo and cannot allot a room. I contacted mmt and they told me that they will get back to me within 1 and half hours. But its more than 8 hrs now. I didn't even got a single call till now. Meanwhile i called mmt 3 times and each time i got the same reply that someone will call me within 1 and half hours. Now i have to make a new booking. I believe these people doesn't care about customers when there is any issue arises. I need double the amount of what i paid for the stay for the frustration i'm having right now.

                                    I booked my flight ticket and cab from makemytrip. Cab timing was 11 am on 12th sep. After calling so many times to cab driver & your customer service, i didn't get any response from anyone. Because of your poor service only, i was running late. So i sent message at 11.10 am via twitter. Again i booked another cab and paid double the amount but i reached at airport at the last minute and not allowing me to enter for check-in. After requesting there, they allowed me to check-in.

                                    As you have confirmed the cab service and i paid the full amount, still you didn't provide the service. Requesting several times, you didn't refund my amount yet. When do you refund my amount?

                                    I am unable to use the MMT Travel finance options for sometime. Not sure what the issue is I can see it on the home page but on the booking page it's not there. Spoke to Capital float and they informed it's something to do with make my trip. Can someone look into it.

                                      I have booked my flight ticket through makemytrip web site for a travel from hyderabad to chennai on 14/09/19. Unfortunately amount got deducted but failed get the ticket confirmation. The total amount got deducted from my indian bank account is rupees 5131 (Rs. Five thousands one hundred and thirty one) with net banking reference [protected]. Please credit the amount back in to my account.
