I have traveled to Nepal and wanted to prepone my return ticket. I contacted MakeMyTrip. They said I can prepone however my charges of return ticket was equivalent to one way new ticket charges. Instead proponent of my original ticket I bought new ticket and traveled back. Now i wanted to cancel my ticket so that some amount will be refunded to me. MakemyTrip guys say my onward travel charges were more than To and Fro ticket charges and no refund can be given. My ticket was confirmed and not check fare ticket for which only cancellation charges are applicable. Neither during my one way travel I was upgraded to higher class. I am unable to digest the logic. No clear explanation is being given by them. Very poor and bad services. I suggest not to book any ticket through them as if some changes are to be made during your travel you will get into trouble and will have to shell out lot additional money.

    Hi,

    I and my wife had booked a travel to Gangtok, Darjeeling and Lachung premium honeymoon package with MMT from 29th May to 4th June..

    Lachung trip was suggested by holiday expert and we found it worth visiting and included it in our package against Peiling and Kalingpong.
    When it was risky or not possible then why is it included in itinery or suggested to customers and attracted with less information
    We were not informed about cancellation of Lachung till the time we reached gangtok, and the alternative for Lachung was trip to Ravangla(Buddha park and Namchi) and the accommodation wasn't satisfying as per Premium amount charged, 1 day trip was extended to 2 days which wasn't worth the money... we need a solution for this... and we had booked a honeymoon package, which had to include(1 candle light dinner, 1 cake and 1 wine bottle), for which we waited for last day but wasn't provided.. and the tour managers in Gangtok weren't responsible enough to call us and inform about next days event.
    As per confirmation voucher provided, we were supposed to get Summit Norling Resort but after reaching resort we were sent to Orange Village Resort( Where we had to waste around 3 hours in travelling).

    Let us know what solution MMT can provide us as overall experience wasn't as expected because of poor management.

      I wanted to book a flight from vizag to hyderabad on 3rd july 2016 and while checking during air india offer, i found 1500 fare and booked five tickets (4 adult and 1 infant)
      By the time i went to payment, i saw that two tickets fare was adjusted to 2800 and to verify i went back to flight results page and saw that it was still 1500. However, i went ahead to payment after selecting the appropriate flight and found that it was 1500 for all and paid for the tickets. Much to my shock - the flight booked was not from vizag to hyd but rather it was hyderabad to vizag. I realized it that day evening after i received the itenary mail from make my trip. I am utterly disappointed with such a buggy code and i booked my flight one more time - have to book air costa due to your mistake, paid extra fare too. I want my first flight fare to be refunded fully.

      This is insane. Until my payment page, i see that it was all fine with flight details and how the hell did the flight get changed like that!!!

      Please save your reputation, i had been a frequent user of makemytrip for sometime and i have some regard for your site.

      Don't charge my money for your website issues!!!

        A highly disappointing experience with make my trip. The worst ever!!! Despite making the full payment in advance, i’m waiting for my tickets and vouchers. I’m bound to travel on the 5th, i. E. Day after and there are no signs of my flight tickets. How am i supposed to travel???
        Ms sandeep kaur, a twit wit from their team has conveniently gone on leave, without handing over the responsibility to anyone leaving it all to destiny. She doesn’t seem to have even an iota of professionalism in her, else she should have responded to my mails or would have answered my phone calls. The company needs to get rid of such employees if it has to maintain its goodwill, else god be with them. Anyway, the reputation of the company doesn’t matter to me anymore as i’m not going to plan any of my holidays with make my trip after such a horrible experience.
        I have called the toll free number at least five times and got the pseudo assurance that i shall be getting my tickets and vouchers in an hour, after every conversation i did, but that hour has not come since then.
        It's a lot of mental harassment to not get the tickets and vouchers even two days before the date of travel.

          Really poor and bogus customer service..make my trip is a fraudulent company.. Once we book the hotel and get confirmation, the same gets cancelled by them just because they get higher booking rates later.. We should not even try this fraudulent companymy booking got cancelled later after getting a confirmation. It happened with me.             Dear sir,
            On 13th feb 2016 we had booked three international flight tickets from makemytrip.com with details provided below:

            Booking id: nn[protected]

            Departure:
            27th may 2016: delhi-moscow-barcelona airline pnr: rjldtk

            Return:
            4th june 2016: amsterdam-moscow-delhi airline pnr: rjldtk

            Travellers:
            (1) mohammad abu bakar; (2) aquib naseer; (3) arafat azhar fahim

            Total amount paid: 16250+28334= 44584 x 3= 135027

            Despite booking our tickets in advance we had to cancel my trip due to some personal emergencies. As per the tickets mandate provided alongside the tickets, we came to learn that we can make amends to our booking between 0 hrs - 365 days for an airline fee difference plus makemytrip.com charges. We gave a call to the customer desk to reschedule our tickets (After reading terms and conditions) for alternative dates. However the response received by us from repeated calls made to makemytrip.com customer service was extremely disappointing. The summary of the conversations are mentioned below:

            Calls made to toll free no: [protected]

            First call: 26th may, 2016 at 18:29 hrs (Call duration: 13 minutes)
            Caller 1: “sir there is nothing we can do our end. You have to talk directly with the airline.”
            As per the guidance of the makemytrip.com customer service advisor, we had to call the indian office of aeroflot airlines in new delhi to request for rescheduling post which we were once again suggested to contact the international head quarters of the airlines in russia. We made that call on +[protected] at 18:53 hrs for 1 minute and 18:55 hrs for 13 minutes and were informed that with a penalty of 100 dollar per passenger rescheduling of tickets could be done only through the travel agent.

            Second call: 26th may, 2016 at 19:09 hrs (3 mins) and 19:12 hrs (45 mins)
            I again had to explain the customer service advisor about my entire case to which she agreed and inform me that i have to shell out 8500 rupees and 500 rupees make my trip fee to which i agreed and the airline difference. She kept me on hold for about 10 minutes and then informed me there was no seat on my return date and hence she asked me to alter it. Now with new travel dates i have to pay additional more than rs. 20, 000 per passenger (Airline difference) when the actual fare listed on their website was only rs. 42, 000. This was a clear arm twisting done by makemytrip.com’s advisors because of my compelling situation. They were trying to cheat us and earn the most out of our distress situation. When we refused to accept such ridiculous charges, we were put on hold again for few minutes and call got automatically disconnected.

            Third call: 26th may, 2016 at 20:20 hrs (Call duration: 28 minutes)
            Spoken to another customer service advisor and patiently explained the entire situation on which he assured us that his superior will get back to me within two hours with a possible solution.

            After waiting for another 2 hours i again rang them back to know the status of my request.

            Fourth call: 26th may, 2016 at 23;12 hrs (Call duration: 29 minutes)
            A lady took my call and this time when i have to repeat my request to amend my dates again she told me that she couldn’t find any suitable dates for my journey neither in july nor in august. Hence again call was disconnected.

            Fifth call: 26th may, 2016 at 23:46 hrs (Call duration: 90 minutes)
            We again spoke to the senior line manager of makemytrip.com named mr. Amit saha explaining him our situation and requesting for a reasonable solution but this man only stalled us for almost an hour and a half, appearing to solve our problems but infact he was just trying waste our time. At the end of the call, he told us that since it was 01:00 hrs of 27th may, 2016 and the flight has already departed, therefore it is a “no show” and nothing could be done by makemytrip.com

            Moreover, we again contacted the russian headquarters of aeroflot airlines at 20:02 hrs on 26th may, 2016 for 17 minutes requesting them if they could assist us with the cancellation in anyway but again and again we were told that only the travel agent (Here, makemytrip.com) can assist with the same.

            Having vehemently tried to contact the customer service for a solution and spending a lot of money on calls made to russia and delhi, we have lost much more money that we initially spent. This has also in turn become a mentally harassing situation for us.

            Next morning at around, 04:27 hrs a call was made at our phone number which we could not attend because of obvious reasons that it is an indecent hour to receive calls and we were sleeping for the night. This call was made as an eye wash just to prove their point that they tried to contact us. We received an email at 04:35 hrs on 27th may, 2016, stating the same that they tried to contact us but could not get through. This was again a lame attempt by the makemytrip.com advisors to clear their position, as calling someone at 04:30 am in the morning is naturally an odd time for any one in the indian subcontinent to take official calls.

            This has been a ridiculous and painful situation for us and we would like to press serious legal charges for harassment and misleading by makemytrip.com. Further, we would like makemytrip.com to either refund us the ticket money we spent or provide us with a replacement ticket for a future date plus additional money as a compensation for our mental harassment and international call charges

                Misguidance on hotel booking
                We had booked our london holiday through make my trip with booking id in1603b0s266293 from mumbai from 18 may 2016 till 24 may 2016. We had three people 2 adult and 1 child of 12 yrs. Make my trip provided us complete holiday package including air line ticket, hotel booking and few local tours.

                Although this was holiday booking to my surprise this is done just as individual booking which any individual himself can do. There is no organize tour like thomas cook, etc, where there is guide including transportation to each tour points and guide. We ourself need to find out how to go to the tour location and take public transport etc. And get our self guided. They are marketing as holiday package but it is just individual bookings as stated above.

                To our further surprise after we reach our booked hotel we find that the hotel which was told to us as 3 star hotel is not even 1 star. Has no staff to even keep our heavy bag ages on upper floor. You need to climb staircase on our own with heavy luggage. Room for three was of so small size that there is hardly any space. Has no facility to match 3 star hotel rating. Just manage three people extra bed was provided due to which there was no movement possible within the room. On holiday you cannot expect such basic room even when it was told that it is three star hotel. We immediately contacted makemy trip staff and informed them the same. They said that they are also surprised and asked us to see if we can get upgrade to better rooms and they will reimburse our cost. When we checked with hotel they did not have any such rooms and all rooms are similar. We then again contacted them and informed about the same and asked for other hotel which they said that you can yourself find out and see with no support.

                As room was so small to stay we just spent a night there and booked novatel 4 star hotel on our own and cancelled the balance 3 days booking in the hotel. We had informed them the same and asked to reimburse the cancellation amount atleast to be given back to us. We had spent 500 pounds for additional hotel booking we did with almost 3000 inr spent for calls.

                Make my trip hotel booking as in "orchard hotel"

                After coming back to india we had written to their respective people to give us reimbursement but they are not replying to our mails. They had completely misguided us on hotel rating and booking similarly calling these individual booking as holiday tour.

                We are completely dissatisfied and want to complaint on above fact. We need our money reimbursement for hotel booking as we spent lot of money on our own for better hotel due to them.

                  I called up make mytrip for darjelling/ gangtok trip and asked them to provide me itinery and charges for same however makemytip executive asked me to b online and put me on hold .After 10 mins he told me that he doesnot have full information regarding this trip and his executive will give me a call within 5 mins . But its been 2 days der is no response at all. Please note on the other hand yatra guyz acted very fast and forqard me full details for package within 30 mins. I would never ever in my future would call makemytrip
                  As these ppl have sm level of arrogance and does not how to behave with customers. I strongly request to the top guys of makemytip to look into this matter. If they hv same level of arrogance ...sorry to say guyz...even i donot need ur help...yatra .com ...guyz u are much better than makemytrip and keep rocking ...soon tables will turn.

                    Our majour complains to make mytrip

                    From your side, car vendor sent chevrolate enjoy (1.2 cc) instead of innova (2.5cc).
                    Very first day start our journey the car driver arrangement informed us at last movement.
                    We can, t do anything to say him and during journey we have unsafe fever to my family.
                    I have my own car innova so prefer to car as innova not chevrolate so you understand our
                    Unsafe fever to whole my family under un-comfirtable.
                    This is big cheating from your side that we remember through out our life, because this is
                    Unconcious to whole family members.

                    In our trip planning already booked preplanned from manali to rotang on 26-05-16 and we read their
                    Board that every one can take permission online. But driver dont co-operate to us and finally we unnecessarily
                    Paid 8000/- instad of 500/- its a very mistake from your side and how we can bear this much big difference,
                    You presume that people are come over their for enjouying journey not for unnecessary harrasment.
                    We request you to guide properly to people so that they dont wastage money unnecessarily.
                    We are not satisfied with your transport vendor.
                    Please reply with clarity because this is very big cheating with customer for such a
                    Reputed company like make my trip.
                    So kindly refund the money and solve the facing problems particular to vehicle vendor
                    Punishment from your side, do not repeat the same with other customer.
                    If you not satisfied to me i will go to the consumer court to take big action.

                      Hello,

                      This is in reference to my booking made on may 30, 2016 with booking id as:
                      Nn[protected]
                      From new delhi to zurich on august 2 and from zurich to new delhi on august 23.

                      I haven't yet received the eticket and had raised a complaint with the customer care as well.

                      I recently got a phone call from the customer support who informed me that the booking shall be cancelled as my booking was made with some server error.

                      Please note that owing to the booking confirmation, i have also booked hotels and done onward planning for my trip. Further, i believe it is hugely unjust that an error on your company's part has to cause such an inconvenience to a customer.
                      Moreover, your customer agent on the phone only gave me two options which was to either cancel the booking or pay ₹ 70000 more to continue with my booking and to get my eticket.
                      I find it utterly uncooperative and feel that makemytrip is unnecessarily causing inconvenience and this is very bad customer service on your part.

                      I do not wish to receive the refund for this booking. I wish to carry on with this booking at the price as it has been booked becayse it not the customer's fault at all. If at all there was an error, it is entirely the responsibility of the company to bear any losses for the same.

                      Kindly cooperate and revert on this. I shall raise this issue on other forums as well, henceforth.

                      Further, in reference to your complaint, we have validated your case with our concerned department and found that due to a technical limitations in our systems, an incorrect amount was charged instead of actual ticket cost at the time of booking.                         I made a flight booking through makemytrip from new delhi to paris (Cdg) for 13th august yesterday i. E. On 30th may at a discounted fare. Against this ticket booking, i proceeded to book additional baggage from air france website for which i am attaching the e-mail confirmation. Also, i made my hotel and airport pick up bookings based on same.

                        I just got a call now from make my trip team that there was a technical glitch on their website due to which incorrect fare was reflecting on their site against which the purchase was made. Subsequently they have proceeded to make my ticket void.

                        Make my trip should honor the bookings. This is very bad service experience as now i have to talk to multiple people (Additional baggage/taxi/hotel) to ask for refunds which may or may not be possible.
                        Also, i was speaking to a make my trip customer care executive while making the booking at discounted fare and he told me to proceed with that.
                        I am planning to register a complaint in consumer affairs forum.

                        Make mytrip should honor the booking made.In case i have to cancel this ticket, i will never use makemytrip again which i used quite regularly in the past.

                            With your mismanagement, i was unable to board flight for airline pnr - kkiwha from

                            (Air canada) ac-71 — del to toronoto (Fri, 25 dec 15, 00:45) & going forward missed air canada to austin

                            While asking for tickets at an air canada counter they were not allowing me to fly to canada. As they can't issue my tickets on my sticker us visa (H1-b) as told.
                            I was completely shocked at that point where my commitment & future schedule was in jeopardy.

                            Originally, i came from airline pnr (3in8hg) & its operated on the rules of lufthansa. I was helpless & not able to seek any kind of help from them also as their flights & staff was off on the eve of christmas. I was having us number with me, but somehow it's not working on roaming. I rushed to local airtel booths for calling & follow ups (Booth numbers are mentioned below for reference). Due to paucity of time, i had taken help of my wife to help me change the ticket date for a hassle free travel, therefore with lots of hope she approached us - international customer care dept. For help to shuffle the travel date / arrange next immediate flight with different airline, (Call details, voice conversation details can be fetched from your system and for further reference name of the representatives and numbers used have been mentioned below.) we had high hopes as with the changing trend organizations like has reinforced agent culture and trust, therefore i have been a repetitive customer, but this notion of mine has been broken to a level that, i would urge to retain it back for me or i might never opt for an agent ever and would prefer the conventional booking style.

                            On first call to customer care, my wife on my behalf, explained them the urgency and briefed them, how due to lack information miss from make my trip has plunged me into the trouble, she requested them to change the ticket, but they simply harshly refused, to give us any sought of help.

                            On second call, after again repeating the history / urgency, and with all conversation we were given a piece of advice to get in touch with lufthansa, which was not even an operating airline rather just partner airline, and representative made us believe that they are the only ones which who can help us at this point of time, challenging the last hope, and feeling empathic for the situation my wife approached lufthansa customer care, i must say they proved they are professionals, understanding and supportive after all they are foreign company and customer matters to them, therefore on one go they agreed for an alternate ticket and started suggesting the dates as well on my present scenario, but the moment they went deeper they realized an agent in between and then what they said was "we are sorry as the agent is in between then only he can do it we are helpless"

                            Even i approached information staff / counter airline staff, all were saying it’s because of you are in such trouble position.
                            I was left alone in a mess. I was running pillar to pillar to timely arrange an alternate ticket as i had legal commitments, during that time both me and wife were busy struggling for alternate options on individual level and off late i booked one directly and updated my wife to request a refund so as to ease the loss.

                            Third call my wife, requested them that i am not in touch due to lack of local number, despite repetitive statements by my wife that i lack a local number and even she did not knew what was i upto. Hence a long approx. One hour discussion lead to nothing but a policy repetition, case mug ups and on ""40th minute the representative lightly said he will give an alternate ticket"" now how should i take this on a refund call???
                            When i already booked alternate ticket after getting no response from anyone in due course of time.

                            Why this was not offered on first call??? When i was in pain and felt harassed and denied entry in the plane in front of a big queue, as if i am a terrorist??? No body extended their phones to me when i pleaded??? A customer friendly agent would have played a dynamic and everlasting role by pulling me put of this situation, failed tremendously, because they proved indian companies are money minded and after their success they forget their customers who actually made them something they are today proud of, my family is your customer since you came into existence and we have always recommended you over other agents look this is what you have gifted us for our years of loyalty, today i wish i would have opted expedia / priceline or a direct airline, at least foreign companies respect their customer and its a globally famous how important the customer is in usa, just opening the office on foreign land or a.com version does not take you to their level. By this approach practice of asking a travel agent to book an airline ticket is flying out of the indian window.
                            When i was asked about my passport information by before generating confirmed tickets as my journey involved us travel than why they haven’t told me about canada journey definitely required transit visa to [protected]@makemytrip.com.


                            I would again request you humbly to refund my ticket as mentioned below, i am genuine therefore not requesting you to pay me double or for the additional unplanned cab taxi fares to reach destination. What i am requesting is to refund the route i purchased.

                            Below all the names of representative to the best of my knowledge, also to remind you on my wife's several request not even one of your senior managers and team leads came into picture rather ensured a silent listening to the conversation which was evident to me, this shows how incompetent the team is and how they are afraid and incapable they are to handle their customers.

                            Call quality was very clear; rather all calls were more a harassments mentally and emotionally. Can never make up to or pay us for the mental torture and harassment i have been through, but at least can pay my losses.

                              Ref: First booking made # NN[protected] booking was made in name of Samantha Yuvaraj for HYD-EWR-HYD| 17 May onward, 12 Jun return.Booking made by Radhika Iyengar (sister)

                              Above was cancelled on 14 May by Radhika Iyengar and a new booking asked to be made with onward date as 22 May but same return date, AND with explicit mention about the caller not being the passenger and to use the cancelled booking details.

                              The booking ref INI605B2S616413 was made by agent Naveen kumar mishra and the seat was blocked. Next day the payment was made by pax Samantha Yuvraj and booking confirmed. First Email recieved without pax name. Later when complaint was raised that the booking was incorrectly made in the name of the caller and not the earlier cancelled ticket passenger, the team said they would refund the amount. This simply has NOT HAPPENED. The pax trip was messed up, she lost on hotel bookings and was stranded in Hyd. Now the REFUND is delayed by more than a week saying they are verifying the call trace that happened with the agent who blocked the ticket...

The transaction got failed, the amount got deducted from my account and transferred to inb avenues india pvt ltd. But, the amount is not refunded to my sbi account. Kindly request you to take required action and refund my amount.

                                I made my booking through makemytrip.com for 7 days 6 nights to Pattaya and Bangkok, Thailand. Overall I felt quite disappointed with their service, going back on commitment, hidden cost etc. I will give the overall experience 0.5 star due to following reasons

                                1. Flight ticket - Trust me you can
                                i. cheaper flight
                                ii. at better timing (not at odd timing) on your own than what is recommended by MMT
                                MMT will tend to recommend you costlier flight at odd timing.
                                2. Food voucher -
                                a. In the name of Indian food, many travel advisors (I saw MMT, Kesari etc.) book the same hotel like Great Punjab in SOI 13, Bangkok. Not sure why because there were at least 5 other Indian restaurants in the same vicinity. May be the restaurant was charging penny to these travel companies.
                                b. The travel advisors take Indians like herd (a lady carrying flag and many following her is a common sign) to the restaurant
                                c. Hotel treats travel advisor customers like second class citizen. Even the entry for travel advisor customers / group booking is not from the front gate but from the behind gate as if they have committed some crime.
                                d. The restaurant
                                i. gets extremely crowded – long queue for self-service (travel advisor customers are not served; others get served)
                                ii. AC hardly works – you will profusely sweat if you have got some corner table
                                iii. provides poor food (Rotten / spoiled /burnt vegetable/ dal etc.)
                                iv. and poor service (long wait time for refill of rice and chapatti)
                                we paid 9101 INR for 5 days’ lunch / dinner, which amounts to 1800 INR per day for dinner. I guarantee that in similar amount (or probably lesser amount) you will get much better food and service.
                                3. Booking experience-
                                a. MMT is quite prompt when it comes to taking money. There advisors won’t mind you to call even at 12 midnight
                                b. Once money has been taken they become elusive. They won’t respond to the email, message etc. MMT leadership is another farce who will never look into any reported issue.
                                c. MMT hires ITC in Thailand. It may happen that MMT would mention that on day X there will be visit to a particular location and ITC can handover different itinerary to you. In the MMT voucher, it mentioned Nong Nooch on 23rd whereas ITC mentioned it on 24th.
                                d. ITC staff will say, I am just the worker not the owner, you please call Mr. X …
                                e. If you have done your own booking seeing MMT didn’t organize anything in any given day, you might get into trouble of handling ITC. We had booked SIAM Niramit on 24th seeing no activity by MMT on 24th. I had real trouble just because ITC arranged something on 24th. In fact, our whole family had to go in wet clothes from Coral Island to Nong Nooch village on 23rd because ITC told they won’t be able to make arrangement otherwise even if we delay by 10 minutes. A bus is going that side and we need to go in the same.
                                f. MMT / ITC will not include best of places like Royal Bangkok palace, Ancient city etc. but will include travel to Gems factory. As if you had gone there to see shopping places only.
                                g. In the beginning MMT will tell you all sightseeing included. But later they can give you ticket and ask you to make your own arrangement for travel. It has happened to me with Safari world. I was given email, which states Safari world & Marine Park with lunch + transfer + tickets – x amount . Whereas later I was told transfer is not included.

                                  I had booked my bus ticket from delhi to jammu in star bus volvo ac sleeper but at the departure venue instead of volvo bus they send a local sleeper bus.If they are not having such services ask them to edit the details they provide to their customers and stop spoiling their trips and mood.Very disappointing services.                                     These all are same type of bookings for the same hotel but when i am refunded the money after doing cancellation a month before the check-in dates, i get rs 800 deducted from two transactions as a cancellation fee. When i enquired with customer care, they said the balance of total rs1600 would come to your wallet. This wallet balance will expire in 3 months and you cannot redeem it fully as your bank account balance. How on earth are they believing it to be same.
                                    In order to create stickiness and create repeat purchases, let me tell you that you are going to suffer big time by doing all these fraudulent practices. Even ranveer and alia have been featuring on ads and saying zero cancellation charges.
                                    I hope i get a solution from here as i am fed up of explaining this to your not so caring customer care service.

                                      On 17th may 2016 i had did hotel booking via make my trip and did online payment from my icici account worth rs. 1830/-,
                                      But unfortunately due to some reason i had cancelled the booking on 18th may 2016 and as per merchants rule they had refunded rs. 1830/- to the same account from where it had been credited on 19 may 2016.
