I had booked two bus tickets through makemytrip.com from Nasik to Ahmedabad and return trip (Ahmedebad to Nasik) on 23/04/2015. Booking IDs NU[protected] and NU[protected]. Bus for onward journey (Nasik to Ahmedebad) was cancelled on 24/04/2015 and hence I was forced to cancel the tickets, and had requested for a refund on the same day. I had received sms alerts that the refund process would be effected within 7 to 14 working days, which is already over now, but no refund has yet been credited. I called customer care twice but no effect. Representatives are so passive and egoistic to respond properly. I have had the same experience with Red Bus also and hence migrated to Make my trip. But here again the same thing is happening. Why cant they pay me back my money? They dont have any right to hold my money. Please intervene . The amount involved is only Rs 1500 but I will fight out till I get back the money. Please help. Regards Sheeba Varghese email: [protected]@hotmail.com

      There are 3 bookings I made in the last couple of weeks which were canceled and this has resulted in failure on Makemytrip’s part to issue refunds. In one case, the cancellation charges MMT showed on the site at the time of cancelation were nearly half of what I was actually charged. At this time, MMT owes me a little more than Rs. 22500 and despite over ½ a dozen calls with lots of holds, multiple email messages to [protected]@makemytrip.com and several hours on their site (which has had a ton of technical issues since yesterday, May 10, 2015), they keep giving me the run around and standard replies of “It will take 6 days to process.” Here’s specific information with booking IDs, MMT Ref IDs, amounts owed, etc. Can you please help out. 1. Booking ID - NF[protected] Complaint Ref No.[protected] Issue - Ticket canceled, refund not issued Amount to be refunded - INR 10271 2. Booking ID - NF[protected] Complaint Ref No.[protected],[protected],[protected] Issue - Attempt to change travel date resulted in money debited from bank account, but travel date was not changed by MMT AMount to be refunded - INR 6304 3. Booking ID - NF[protected] Complaint Ref No.[protected] Issue - Ticket canceled (since travel date change did not work), refund amount (of Rs.1226) lower than what was shown on the site at the time of cancelation (of Rs.5976) - customer service agent agreed that what was shown on the site is the correct amount that ought to have been deducted and that the error is on their part, but saying another 6 days needed to give her a call back. Amount to be refunded - INR 5976 TOTAL AMOUNT TO BE REFUNDED - INR 22551

        TICKET WAS BOOKED on 9th April. After a week i got a message that ticket got cancelled with out my knowledge. Subsequently when i was expecting the refund i got the refund of Rs. 102/- against my payment of Rs.6548/-. I was harassed, since Makemytrip has cancelled my ticket without even my knowledge and then i had to make an alternate arrangement for my travel with higher cost. Finally on refund they have swallowed the complete my by refunding only Rs.102/- May please look into the details and i would request a written explanation on this harassment. Best Regards, Partha

          Makemytrip is cheating by taking payment and then confirming booking has failed. Refund would take 3-14 days and their service centre does not answer calls and keeps you waiting for nearly an hour. And then when you complete the online complaint form, you get a message “oops we are facing some difficulties”. But still nobody calls you even though they have a faulty system.
          My question is all over the world online booking works like this. You go online and search for your flight schedule. When you find the right one, you select “book” and then you are informed that you have a temporary booking and now you can make your payment. You are then taken to a payment page and you enter your credit card or other information and your payment goes through and then subsequently you get your eticket. But the makemytrip system is this:
          (1) you select the flight schedule and then select book
          (2) you are taken to the payment page and you give your credit card information and your payment goes through
          (3) then for some unknown reason, if you get a message that your booking is not confirmed and your payment will be refunded, then starts the nightmare
          (4) you call up the number given online and nobody answers for over an hour.
          (5) you call again and again and you go through the circle of options but nobody comes online.
          (6) so you get frustrated and go to the complaints page. You complete all your details and select submit and lo and behold, you get the dreaded message “…oops we are facing some difficulties…” and your complaint does not go through.
          This is the horror story about makemytrip. What are your options? Do you make another booking, again make a payment and hope your booking is successful? Can you take that chance? What if you get the same message? So, then how do you travel?
          Has any government agency or law enforcement looked into this scam of makemytrip.com?

          Here are my responses to your queries:

          Booking ID: NF[protected]

          - Email address used at the time of booking : [protected]@gmail.com.

          I understand that you have many complaints similar to mine and MMT has no intention to change their system to fix the problem.

          The facts still remain:

          (1) Money was illegally taken out from my credit card account BEFORE my ticket was confirmed.

          (2) A Refund was thereafter processed, but, it takes 3 to 14 days for the money to come back into my account. You are well aware about this delay in money going back into the customer's account and yet you have deliberately not introduced a system that prevents innocent money coming out from a customer's account BEFORE the ticket is confirmed.

          (3) This is premeditated FRAUD by MMT intentionally taking money before providing the service.

          (4) When such a big amount is taken from a customer's account, how do you expect the customer to make another booking with the risk of again loosing another big amount? Have you considered this obvious possibility?

          (5) What happens when there is an emergency and a person has to travel on the dates booked through MMT and for which he has paid MMT but the booking is not confirmed by MMT but available from another source but he has no more money to pay the other source again as MMT has already taken his money illegally? I am sure the courts will give due cognizance to this grave anomaly in your system and will award sufficient punitive damages for the grave inconvenience, upset health and pain and suffering by the customer due to the mis-management by MMT.

          In view of the above, I am seeking a fair compensation for the pain and suffering meted out to me by MMT.
          Please do not delay the inevitable by sending me the same stereotype excuse template again and again which is more of a harassment and I do not accept.

            On 2nd may 2015, I opened @Makemytrip to book a flight ticket. After the complete transaction @Makemytrip showed me a technical error page. Because o[censored]rgency, I booked the ticket 2 more times but the result was same i.e some technical error. After around 10-15 min, I got a message from my bank account regarding the deduction of money thrice, but there was no confirmation from @Makemytrip. Now whenever I called @Makemytrip there executives told me the amount will be refunded within 3 days or 7 days. No action has been taken yet. I am fed up of these people now looking for a justice.

              I was making a Ticket when my transaction failed on 20th April. I got a reference no NF[protected]. I called up make my trip and they said its a technical fault and I will get my money in 7 working days. Rs 8781/- was deducted from my bank. The same was not resolved. They asked my bank statement which I provided and again a confoirmation from bank that the money was paid to makemytrip was also provided. They confirmed me several dates for refunds but all in vain.                 My Booking ID is : NR[protected] Refund Reference No :[protected] I had booked my rail tickets from Hyderabad to Chennai on 29th April 2015 (Amount Rs.4122) Unfortunately due to some technical error money got debited from my account and I got an email from MMT saying that the refund is initiated and will get refunded within 72 working hours and after 72 working hours the amount got credited was 1251??? I wonder where did my rest of the money go??? and after calling the so called customer care endlessly, I spoke to one hopeless agent Kaushal Vinayak who doesnt know to handle the customers and just reads the script (In this case I apologies for the inconvenience caused blah blah).I called the customer care team 4 times and in all the instance the reply I got from them was please wait for 72 working hours and its more than four 72 working hours and still the refund is pending which is really annoying...The service is very pathetic and if this doesn't get resolved this time I am taking you guys to the court. Please resolve this issue ASAP.

                  I booked a domestic flight ticket from Chennai to kolkata through Makemytrip on 3rd Sep.2014, Travelling date was 4th april2015 of Spicejet airline, But spicejet has cancelled the flight and he given 100% refund due to "no show Flight".I also called to makemytrip for cancel the flight ticket on 31st march2015 and he calcelled my ticket and told that refund will we initiated within 4 days, But after 40 days amount not credited in my account.They are cheating with me, always telling within 4 days refund will be credit in your a/c.But not happend till now.There is no any follow system in makemytrip, they always telling lie..

                  Thanks to consumer forum.Makemytrip has refunded my amount in A/c on 15th May 2015, It was consumer forum pressure, otherwise they continue cheating with me, I called Makemytrip atleast 30 times but their Refund department representative always told that within 4 days refund will be credited in ur a/c, but not happened.They try to making owl to me.Makemytrip has a complete army of liers.Once again thanks to Consumer forum.Thanks

                    Dear Sir, I had made a booking through your Organization for the month of October 2014.This was the trip at Kashmir when it was completely flooded and all the travel companies had issued refund for the same as I had got the refund of my Air Tickets from GoAir. But I have been writing regular mails to you but there is no response as yet. I am suppose to get a Refund for Rs. 18500/- but they are keeping on delaying the matter and now they are saying that as it is too late, now we will not refund this amount. I am regular buyer from your a Portal and don't want to end up my relationship in a bad mode, but if you insist that I have no option but to file a complaint in Economic Offence Wing and File a Criminal Case against your Company and Mr. Deep Kalra (CEO) where I am ready to spend more than the money I am suppose to get back from you.

                      i purchased an international ticket on Makemytrip. The connecting flights were hyd to delhi by air India, delhi to Frankfurt by airIndia and Frankfurt to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil by TAM. AirIndia cancelled the first flight a day before the flight and did not provide any alternative flights. Make my trip did not do anything to help either. The Makemytrip has one thing to say for everything - we are talking to the airline. Will I get an alternative flight? Their answer is, "we don't know". What about myinternational flight for tomorrow. Their answer is, "we don't know". Because of this, I had to purchase indigo flight that night and stay in a hotel in delhi. Again Makemytrip claimed the hotel was a four star but it turned out to be a shanty place. When I reached Delhi, I went through the immigration without a problem and was about to board the flight to Frankfurt along with my family - wife and three kids. Just then airIndia security tells me that I will need a transit visa to connect via Frankfurt. This information was not given to me by neither Makemytrip nor AirIndia. AirIndia said they cannot allow me to take the flight as transit visa is needed by Indians flying via Frankfurt. I have not been informed by neither AirIndia nor Makemytrip. Even worse, neither of them took responsibility for alternative flight for me. The worst part was that I was "offloaded" by AirIndia. They stamped on my passport saying that I was offloaded. When I asked them why they would stamp such negative message on my passport inspite of my not being responsible for any of it, they laughed and said that it is their procedure. More than insensitivity it is cruelty towards customers. AirIndia and Makemytrip are able to be cruel towards customers because they believe that they are invincible and nobody will hold them responsible for take their customers for a ride. Because of the way AirIndia and Makemytrip treat their customers, I had to travel separately from my family. This was the most harrowing part of the experience. In addition to that, I had to by an alternative route completely on my own. When I was about to take the flight through a different airlines in Hyderabad, the Hyderabad bureau of immigration asked me what offloading meant. They interrogated me about this stamp in the passport. Clearly the officer saw something obviously negative in it and did not let me through till they questioned me and till I showed them all the additional paper work of proof of family, their tickets, that I could not travel with them because of the ill treatment by AirIndia and Makemytrip. I do want anybody else to go through such a horrible and heartbreaking experience by choosing Makemytrip or AirIndia. My fellow citizens should know the possible painful experience awaiting them when they choose Makemytrip or AirIndia.

                      I have called several times and registered several complaints and even escalated the complaints. It says wait 48hours. Even escalation is not allowed on your website. I have asked that this be escalated to management but it was not done.

                        I made booking for greece honeymoon package. They told me the documents and i told them that i dont have ITR & PERSÒNAL BANK STATEMENT they said it will be done by sponcering and i gave all doc of sponcership But before 20 days of travel date they said we need your personnel itr and bank statement and i told them that i dont have so they are blaming me for this and putting penalty charges which are false. As i was clear to them from day1. Now they are not replying to me of anything. I ñeed help.

                          Hi, I have booked flight tickets from bangalore to Jodhpur and applied MMTAPP500 from my phone on[protected] and I have booked one more ticket from Jodhpur from my friend's phone and applied MMTAPP500 on the same day. I made sure that both the time the Coupon was being used for the first time.                           In reference to your complaint, please note that we have validate your concern and found that cash back for INR 500 has been processed on the first booking ID-NF[protected] but on the second ID, it was not processed as per offer T&C. Please note that as per offer T&C customer cannot claim the cashback for more than one booking. The offer is valid only for one booking. We have found that both the booking were booked using the same listed email ID, so cash back on the second booking wont be possible. We thank you for contacting us.

                            I have been trying to find out about my International ticket refund amount since yesterday. Spending almost 2 to 3 hours on the phone. First of all it will take more than half an hour to reach to the representative and secondly most of your representatives don't know the basics of ticket booking. When I ask them about the how they arrived at my ticket cancellation figure they say Hello hello and disconnect the line or they put on music which will play for hours. I never expected from such a professional company like yours. I have booked three international tickets out of that three I had to cancel it . First ticket which I cancelled the booking Id is NN[protected]. Actually I cancelled it just few hours before the flight but still they told me it was not updated in the system hence it became no show and the refund amount was Rs.17, 318/- out of which only Rs.8659 has been credited to my account so far. I have just sent my credit card statement for the verification. But I don’t get an answer why you guys are refunding in two parts? Secondly the Booking Id No. IN1501B7S076346, now this ticket is for 28th of May I just cancelled it yesterday and they cancelation charge is Rs.9944/- but when I ask how they got that figure no answer either they disconnect the phone on the face or act as if suddenly they can’t hear me and say hello hello and disconnect the phone. I am really being frustrated, since two days I have been spending most of the time calling you guys. Is there anyone who can help me?

                              I made a booking using the mobile app on 2nd May 2015, but it said booking failed for the first time (NF[protected]and app said it is due last minute fare hike and asked me whether you want this money back in your card or or MMT account, i opted my card . Since i urgently needed this ticket I went ahead and made the same booking (NF[protected]again this time it was successful and amount charged again. After some time I receive message from make my trip for two booking using the same details. The customer care person tells me do I have a screen shot of first unsuccessful transaction, I tell her I am not stupid to make the same booking twice. I have spent hours on phone and multiple calls explaining this to MMT customer finally they send me and email that you will have to bear the cancellation charge on the first failed transaction an amount of some 7000 INR. The unprofessional customer care personnel tells me do whatever you want to now but MMT is not bearing any charges since you have no proof of the first failed transaction.

                                I made a booking on 18th of March'15 from Lucknow-Chennai. I used a coupon for SBI card to get a refund of 15%(max. of 1000). I did not get the cash back for two weeks so I called make my trip and they told me I will get it in 21 days. I did not get the cash back. I have called them almost 7-8 times for the same. I even registered a complaint for the same at MakeMyTrip. They called back and said it will be done in next two days. It is not done yet. Even after that I have called them two-three times, but no use. Also, when i used the coupon, I read it properly and it said that I am eligible for a cashback of 15% upto a maximum of Rs.1000. I did not find any other condition. But once one of their person told me that I am eligible for a max. of Rs.250 only and second time some other person told me that I am eligible for Rs.200 cashback. These people are not clear with their offers itself. My complaint No(with MakeMyTrip).[protected]

                                  Dear MakeMyTrip customer Support, Please be advised we have been subjected to a LOT OF Harassment by your company having taken the customizable package MakeMyTrip Booking ID - NL[protected] Super Dubai with Trio Value Pack I was able to customize my tour according to the options given and suitable for my requirement Additional Components Details Activity Dubai by Night City Tour ATLANTIS - THE LOST CHAMBERS (EXCLUDING TRANSFERS) Ok to Board Supplement for Indian Clients. DOLPHIN & SEALS LIVE SHOW(VIP) (EXCLUDING TRANSFERS) I was given to understand I shall be provided with required vouchers for inclusions, hotel vouchers, visas and airline tickets 5 days before the trip date . Complete payment for this Trip was made 100% in Advance through bank transfers. I followed up regularly for the above but the MMT representatives were pesistent that I wait for some more time, although I had difficulty understanding that why would they not start working or even assign the booking to anyone in operations. At last it was assigned to mr Amit Chokroborty, from operations team but again he told me to keep waiting. I also opened several complaints asking MMt to start working on the trip atleast so that I do not get any surprises in the end (which are still open btw). MMt representatives are very eager to arrange a call back but don't bother to call back or answer any questions to satisfaction, rather just keep waiting or take leave or half days. Upon my persistence and with the help of Mr. Rohit Rana, rather than the one assigned to the package, Mr. Chokroboty and Mr Manmeet Banyal, I got the air tickets and hotel vouchers just 1 days before the trip i.e 24th April. But again, to my surprise, shock and Dismay I was told by Mr. Devashish just a few hours from my flight that the airport to hotel transfer and all the inclusions cannot be provided due to some backend issue and they will be cancelled. I was left stranded and very rudely spoken to by Mr. Devashish, whose failure despite 30 days of reassurance by MMT, spoiled my trip. I was told that MMt will refund the amount. When I reached the destination I had to arrange all by myself and on the 2nd day of my trip i.e 26th I got vouchers for only 2 of my inclusions. For other inclusions I had to pay out of my pocket and not spoil my trip because of your failure. Same was highlighted and complained by self in e-mail of 26th April 2015 to mr. Rohit Rawat & Mohd Ubed. We lost Dubai by Night City Tour, Ok to Board Supplement for Indian Clients(which the airline told was not required, so I demand refund) and the trio value pack which included Dhow cruise with Dinner, Desert safari with dinner, and City day tour. This wasted a lot of my time as I had to replan the activities over at Dubai. OUT OF HAND EXPENCES MADE BY US EVEN AFTER HAVING PAID IN ADVANCE: - Taxi From Airport To Hotel - 95 AED Dhow Cruise With Dinner - 270*2 = 540 AED Desert Safari with Dinner - 250*2 = 500 AED Taxi From Hotel To Airport - 95 AED TOTAL - 1230 AED Apart from the above I like compensation for OK To Board charges, Dubai by Night City Tour OVER AND ABOVE ABOVE MENTIONED BREAKDOWN OF EXPENSES PAID FOR BY US EVEN THOUGH SAME WERE ACCOUNTED FOR AND CHARGED TO US UPFRONT IN ADVANCE WE HEREBY LODGE A PROTEST AGAINST YOUR COMPANY FOR BREACH OF TRUST AND NOT ABIDING BY AND MEETING THE OFFER COMMITTED AND CHARGED FOR / NON PERFORMANCE OF COMMITMENT AS INDICATED AND CHARGED / FRAUDULENT ACT OF DECEIVING THE CUSTOMER BY CANCELLING CONFIRM BOOKINGS AND THEREBY STANDING FAMILY WITH KIDS ON A VACATION WITH LIMITED RESOURCES. WE HAVE REPEATEDLY RAISED OUR CONCERNS AND COMPLAINTS TO YOUR GOOD OFFICE THROUGH E-MAILS, PHONE CALLS AND TEXT MESSAGES WHILE WE WERE ON THIS TRIP AND HAVE ALSO BEEN FOLLOWING UP SAME THROUGH ALL SIMILAR MEANS AFTER RETURNING FROM THIS TRIP. WE HAVE BEEN CHEATED AND DEPRIVED OF PEACEFUL HOLIDAYS AND FEEL ENTIRE TIME AND MONEY WE SPEND ON THIS TRIP HAS BEEN A WASTE. AS WE WERE LEFT DISTRESSED AT EVERY STAGE AND HAD TO MAKE OUR OWN ARRANGEMENTS, MAKE REPEATED PHONE CALLS, SEND E-MAILS AND TEXT MESSAGES TO GET ARRANGEMENTS DONE / GET CONFIRMATION OF SAME ETC. WE HAD APPROACHED YOUR COMPANY SO AS TO HAVE A PLANNED TOUR SO AS TO HAVE A PEACE FULL HOLIDAY WITH ALL ARRANGEMENTS IN PLACE AS PER PLANNED TOUR SCHEDULE OFFERED AND AGREED WITH AND CONFIRMED BY YOUR COMPANY. HOWEVER WE WERE LEFT ABROAD WITH NO ARRANGEMENTS IN PLACE, ALL PREVIOUSLY CONFIRMED ARRANGEMENTS CANCELLED, WITH ENTIRELY UN PLANNED DELAYED ARRANGEMENTS LEAVING US IN A STATE OF DISTRESS AT ALL TIMES. WE HOLD YOUR COMPANY RESPONSIBLE FOR AND CLAIM FOR A REFUND OF ALL EXPENSES INCURRED AND LOSSES INCURRED BY US ON THIS TRIP DUE TO HARASSMENT BESTOWED ON OUR FAMILY BY YOUR LACK OF PERFORMANCE AND NOT ABIDING BY THE OFFERED AND CHARGED FOR SERVICES.

                                    I had cancelled my ticket on 7th March and after many mails and endless phone calls i got this information Booking ID: NF[protected] Refund Date: 01 Apr 2015 05:30:00 Refund Amount: INR 9, 593.00*approximately Refund Reference Number:[protected] But till date this amount has not been reflected in my account. The Refund call executives are very basic and don't know how to handle this call. Especially my last call With Ms. (Shivani Anand) (04/05/2015 01.19 PM) was pathetic she kept me on hold for 34 mts and she had no clue what to do and finally she just kept me on indefinite hold till it disconnected, which is a common trick that Make My trip tele-executives resort to if they cant resolve your problem. I wonder if i have to go to court to recover this refund? I decided NEVER to use Makemy trip again. I have used them many times in the past but its become a very shabby organisation of late. If the management has any shred of honesty I would like them to reply to this complaint and take immediate action.

                                    Further as per our discussion please note that, we have validated the case and found that initially a refund of Inr 9593.00 has been initiated from our end for the original booking on 25-Mar-15 because of the un-cancel feature which was opted by passenger to re book his ticket without paying any additional cost. And cancellation which was made on booking for the second time was a normal cancellation so, cancellation fee has been deducted as per airline fare rule and refund for Inr 3298.00 has been processed on 7-May-15 with refund reference number #[protected] and the same should reflect in your bank account as per your bank processing cycle.

                                      I have booked my flight from Port Blair to Kolkata on Spicejet airlines flight SG-733 (Mon, 6 April 15, 08:05 hrs PNR-U111NR) but due to seasonal timings change they postponed the flight to 11:45 hrs on Mon, 6 April 2015. As i have another flight to catch to Delhi so i cancelled the above mentioned flight directly with the Spicejet airlines and also informed MakeMyTrip. Spicejet refunded the full amount (i.e. Rs 12, 010/-) for it but i haven't received the full refund from MakeMyTrip and being paid Rs.8210/- only (i.e. almost Rs.4200 short). I'm not being paid the rest of the amount yet. I have also contacted MakeMyTrip several times without my refund issue being getting resolved. I request you to kindly resolve my issue as soon as possible and refund the rest of the amount as i'm facing this problem from the past one and half month.

                                        My Kid loves bath tub and hence I wanted a room with bath tub when I checked you web site it did mention that the even standard room has a bath tub facility. After booking when I checked with the Hotel they says that it doesn't. THIS IS CHEATING. They are not giving an option to upgrade nor cancel the booking. This is the most pathetic service I have ever experienced. I have always been doing my international or domestic booking thru expedia or yatra and had no issues till date. This is the first time i chose to do it from here and this is the service am getting... I am a senior manager for a MNC company (HP -- Hewlett Packard)... I will update all the our internal blogs and external blogs and social web site regarding this cheating... We have an internal blog which at least 50, 000 plus employees in India have access to and I will make sure no one will come back to makemytrip for any bookings...
