Horrible experience
I, AdarshTodi, Booked a holiday trip to Sikkim with Make My Trip (Booking
ID: IN1501B7S057268), Chennai
office through Mr Abhishek Damani ([protected]) and Ms Nikita Kapoor
([protected]) and they were in charge of our trip. Having previously availed
the services of Make my trip on two previous occasions which were very
much planned and organised, I was confident that even this holiday to Sikkim
would also be hassle-free and convenient. But it was the other way around. Both the parties
involved, one Makemytrip, Chennai and other Club Side Travel Agency in Sikkim were
most irresponsible and unprofessional this time. We were taken very lightly
after knowing that we are regular customers of makemytrip, and Ms Nikita kapoor
had taken no pain to plan the trip and check on the counterparts with any kind
of confirmations. Every instance, the contract was breached either by Make
My Trip or by their local Sikkim counterparts. Point wise detail of breach of contract:-

This Holiday has made us very sure and confirmed mind set of NO
MORE MAKEMYTRIP FOR ANYTHING AND ADVICE PEOPLE TO STOP GIVING BUSINESS TO
MAKEMYTRIP.
Because of all above, I
want to claim back my booking amount with other few charges paid by me to Mr
Pradeep on behalf of make My Trip. The Claim Amount is as under
1. Booking cost Rs 84000.00
2.Mr Pradeeps Reimburses Rs 700.00
3.Mental agony and harassment Rs 50000.00
Rs 134700.00
Thanks For
spoiling my leisure trip to harassment trip. I will make sure I put a case in
consumer forums, consumer court, and social media about the type of services
provided by MAKEMYTRIP. I have all the facts and messages which were exchanged
by Make My Trip officer Ms Nikita & Mr Pradeep to make my Case stronger and
viable.

Annexure I
Irresponsible & Unprofessional behaviour post booking by
MakeMyTrip officer Mr Abhishek Damani & Ms Nikita Kapoor
On confirmation of
booking on 22/01/2015 via E Mail to Ms Nikita Kapoor, there was no action from
Make My Trip for my Booking till 04/02/2015 and this forced me to write an
Email on this for my Booking ID no and details for making payments. But again
this try went in vain and the last option left was to make a call to toll free
number of Make My Trip on this issue.
This call escalated the issue and made bells ringing in
ears of Ms Nikita Kapoor to act on my bookings.
This doesn’t end here, my mobile number were wrongly
entered by Ms Nikita, which again resulted in confusion.
Such
a irresponsible and unprofessional behaviour is least expected from make my
trip team.
Annexure II
Breach in Land contract
As per the contract/Booking, Make My Trip were supposed to
allot one Tata Sumo Vehicle for all 10 days of my trip but the worst was
waiting for me to know that, all 10 days I had to start my day by breaking my
head with Mr Pradeep (Make My Trip coordinator in Sikkim) for Land transport.
Every single day we were allotted different vehicle with variety of Drivers to
handle with.
Below are the day wise details of torture borne by me due to
Mr Pradeep/Ms Nikita on Land Transport
a)
Two
days before travelling I am getting a call from an unknown number stating I am
Mr pradeep and I will be your tour coordinate from now and I am at siliguri to
help you, i was happy for the call but never knew will he be really helpful?
b)
Day
1 On 8 th morning I get a message from Mr pradeep “Driver:Bijay [protected] he
will be receiving you in bagdogara airport and will take you to gangtok, when I reached bagdogara I got a call from mrBijay I am
not coming, one of my friend will call u and assist you further, now Best part
I am waiting for a call from unknown name and number! Should I rely on him?
c)
After
waiting ½ an hour I get a call, hetakes me to a taxi and introduces me to one
new driver and tells me he will take u to gangtok. Day is over and waiting for
Mr pradeep’s call for next day plans and details. Waiting for call never ends! We
called Pradeep for next day’s plan he explains that vehicle will reach your
hotel by 8:30 am but the details will be given only by 8:00 am in the morning.
d) Day 2 starts with waiting again for
the message to go and follow which particular driver or the number, after
waiting for an hour 8:30 am to 9:30 am I call pradeep again but no response and
again call after 5 min he picked this time, told and messaged us to come to
“Vajra stand for north Sikkim Vehicle No. MAXX0962 driver Mobile [protected]”
My question was “I was told by Ms nikita
all pick up and drops will be at the Hotel taken, then why was I asked to come
to vajra taxi stand?” When contact Mr Abishek damani Chennai office about the
same he told me he will check and come back and I get a call from Mr pradeep
that pls sir adjust the amount will be reimbursed to us, as the allotted
vehicle has no permission to come in the
city limits. We agreed and we went to the taxi stand. The vehicle details and
the driver details given were wrong and it was a complete mess. Then I was told
to wait and in ½ an hour another vehicle was arranged. ” when my plans and Booking were final ahead
of a month why this type of commotions should a tourist take? Why was I asked to adjust? Why was vehicles and permissions not checked
before tourist visit. I have not received the reimbursed amount which was
promised by Mr Pradeep.
e)
After
all this commotions and hectic traveling reached lachen, my Itinerary states
“chopta valley, gurudongmar lake –lachung”but at the army checking point I come
to know that the travel agent has not
taken permission to go to gurudongmar lake, the permission is taken only for
lachen town. Why? Did I not pay
or the itinerary doesn’t states that? Why was I not informed before leaving
from gangtok about this by your so called coordinates? Due to this we missed our sightseeing of Gurudongmar
Lake when contacted Mr pradeep he is even unaware of this. He told me he will
check and come back. I got a call from him stating army was not giving
permission for the said sightseeing for the particular day. What a others from the same hotel
has permission to visit the gurudongmar lake but we don’t as we were special
case of not getting permissions.
f)
Day 3 as we had no choice other than to stay in hotel because we had no
permissions to go to gurudongmar lake but others from the hotel went till the
extent to chopta valley and came back. “WILL
MAKEMYTRIP PAY FOR MY MENTAL AGONY WHICH
WE WENT THROUGH”
g)
Day
4 we complete the day with no hassles but again while coming back to gangtok we
were left on road to catch a taxi for
the hotel drop which was promised by Mr pradeep will be reimbursed, but
still waiting for reimbursement to happen.
h) Day 5 Mr pradeep promised this time
that a vehicle will pick us from Hotel and our further trip is going to be a
hassle free, we were joyful and happy but that never happened. Mr pradeep told
us to get ready by 7:30 am sharp as vehicle will come to pick me up or else we
will be late for our excursion to baba mandir and tsomgo lake. As told by
pradeep we were ready waiting, waiting, waiting, never ending waiting in a
leisure trip and calling pradeep and pradeep not picking calls, frustrated us
further. And then 9:00 am I get a message from pradeep “ vehicle – 0427 Xylo
will come for tsomgo lake”. Now waiting for the vehicle starts with no Number
of the driver to be contacted. Vehicle comes by 9:30 am! “OUR WAIT TIME FROM 7:30 AM TO 9:30 AM FOR NO COST ON A LESUIRE
TRIP” Every single day in Sikkim
was a new driver and car and the numbers given to us never matched. The details
were always wrong. For Tsongmo lake in
Gangtok we were made to wait for more than two hour and when questioned, the
driver’s and Mr Pradeep’s stories varied. When contacted Ms Nikita Chennai
“we are helpless sir let me check and come back”. But Mr Pradeep doesn’t Picks
calls of the MMT employees too. Shame on
Makemytrip, they keep unprofessional partner and coordinators who don’t respond
to their duties when needed.
i)
Day 6 we were told by Ms Nikita Kapoor Chennai
that we will be having TATA Sumo vehicle for the entire trip but on Day 6 after
a long wait and calls from and to pradeep we get a message by 8:31 am “Vehicle no.3032 will come at
9:00am for gtk sightseeing” we were told to get ready by 8:00 am but the message
received by 8:31 am for 9:00 am! Is this is the way? The vehicle sent was maruti 800 but PROMISED TATA SUMO. This
vehicle was only for the sightseeing but what abt the counterpart to Pelling no
Information about the same….again wait and call callcall repeatedly to Mr
Pradeep for more Info. Then I was informed by Pradeep a Xylo will pick up us on
our desired time from the hotel to Pelling. A calls comes by 12:00 I am a new
driver who will take u to Pelling where should I come to pick you, we were
shocked to see this kind of attitude. The driver is asking us the details of
the hotel from where we have to picked up!!! MY WIFE ASKED ME “WHY MAKE MY TRIP!!!”
j)
Day 7 in pelling another horrible
day, vehicle sent for sightseeing
without any information Mahindra Maxx 16 seater local taxi vehicle with all indecent looks and smell. Now
at this point I was very clear that I have to take some serious actions on Mr
Pradeep as he was not picking any calls and not responding to messages too, so
I called Nikita and got a new Number
[protected]. I don’t remember the name of the guy I spoke to, I told him
very clearly if this is going to the future vehicle then I will break my trip
from here on my own, but he assured me of no more hassles in the balance trip.
But there was no break to the problems. MAKEMYTRIP
HAS LOST ALL ITS STANDARDS AND ETHICS BY NOT LISTENNING TO THE GRIVANCSES OF
THE CUSTOMER AFTER GETTING FULL AND FINAL TOUR AMOUNT.
k)
DAY
8 was Picked Up from hotel in a good vehicle TATA SUMO to Darjeeling. Now
waiting for more Info on day 9 plans and details of driver, again call pradeep “WAS IT A LESIURE TRIP” A tourist
calling the tour coordinator for everything, why is he there then? When he has
no Info about anything... Then I got a
message from pradeep after continuous calls “Vehicle 3715 driver lalit
[protected]” on day 9 we have to plan for Tiger hill and had to get Up early
by 4:00 am so this time I want to be sure about the wait time, I called the
driver on day 8 itself but the answer I
got from the other end wrong Number pls call the right number. I was like!!!@@##. Calling
pradeep again, in the meantimeI got a
call from unknown number and name, “ sir I
will be coming tomorrow morning pls be ready by 4:00 am I am mr lalit`s
driver.” Every single day in this trip was a new driver and car and the numbers
given to us never matched. The
details were always wrong. WHEN WE
HAD A CUSTOMISED PACKAGE TRIP WHY WE WERE NOT ASSIGNED ONE SINGLR VEHICLE FOR
THE TRIP?
l)
Day
9 had no hassles this time with good vehicle and the driver too. Vehicle
provided was TAVERA, pradeep called himself and told the same driver will
continue tomorrow also for airport drop. So no change in number and the vehicle
too.But we get a call from a Unknown
number stating I am Mr Lalit`s friend and was told to pick and drop to airport
as the driver no feeling well, I agreed. I saved the number who called me
this time and told him to come by 7:30am
m) DAY 10 Last day my mental agony doesn’t ends here. The driver who called
me as MrLalit’s friend never picked the
call after that. Again call pradeep for the solution but Mr pradeep same as
before never picks the call, I got a call by 8:00am stating I am coming for
airport drop and I am on my way to hotel now this new driver turns up by 8:45 am. And states a new story. ARE WE HERE TO HEAR ALL STORIES FROM ALL
DIFFERENT MOUTH PIECES?

Fake Hotel Booking Voucher for two
place
(Gangtok – Hotel Summit Ttakshang
Residency
&
Lachen – The Apple Orchard Resort)
Nothing
more worst than this can be done by MakeMyTrip team, by handing over fake Hotel
vouchers. This was the biggest shock to me when we came to know that, at two
places one at Hotel Sumit Ttakshang Residency (Gangtok) & other at Hotel
Apple Orchard (Lachen), Make my trip have not confirmed our booking and still
they have handed over the vouches to me.
The detailed report is as under:-
1.
First
day at Gangtok we were told there isn’t
a booking for us in the hotel Summit Ttakshang residency but were given a room
as we were carrying the hotel vouchers.
2.
DAY 2 when we reached the hotel Apple orchid in Lachen by 5:00 pm we
were given room to stay but when we came down for dinner we were called by the
manager and told by him stating we have
to pay for the hotel room charges as they have not received the amount from
Makemytrip and they have no booking from them, and I also spoke the owner
of the hotel regarding the same. She
told me that as there is availability of rooms in the hotels she is providing
the stay or else she might have denied admission too, She confirmed that
there was an enquiry but no confirmation mail or the payment details from Ms
Nikita make my trip Chennai or the club side MMT partner. After long
confusions and confirmations from and through Mr abishek damani things were
sorted out in 1 ½ hour. “Do tourists
have to undergo this type of agony after paying for the leisure trip”?

First and foremost, please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused to you as what happened is certainly not in line with our service standards.
Further please note that, we have validated the case at our end and found that your refund of INR 38158 has already been processed from our end on 31-Mar-15 and the balance amount of Inr 7076 will be initiated from our end on 10-Apr-15. The same should reflect in your account as per your bank processing cycle. We will keep a follow up on the same and will take this to the closure on priority.
