I paid so far rs. 200, 0000 and for surrender value you stated in statement is rs.67, 349.03. I would like to surrender this policy, when i joined, your agent axis bank representative did not explain about this policy, simply took signature and made himself ecs transactions for premium payments. Now understood this policy doesn’t have any benefits. I can’t accept 1, 33, 000 for penalty for surrender. This is too cheating. Please answer immediately, else i will lodge the complaints. Regards, Team Max Life Insurance Verified Support Feb 13, 2019 Max Life Insurance Customer Care's response Dear Madhavan, Further to your discussion with our customer service team, we'd like to inform you that as an organization we have a responsibility towards the policy holder's money and we manage the same under guidelines laid down by the regulator, IRDAI. Cancellation of a policy is strictly governed by the terms & conditions of the policy contract and these terms & conditions are part of our product approval processes with the regulator. As per the regulatory provisions, there is a free look period of 15 days during which the policyholder may approach the insurance company for cancellation (if not satisfied). This free look period starts from the date of receipt of the policy pack by the policyholder. In line with above, your policy pack including proposal form and benefit illustration was duly delivered at your communication address on time. We have received your request for cancellation now, which is beyond the free look period of 15 days. Hence, we express our inability to cancel the policies and refund the premium paid. In case you wish to surrender the policy, you are requested to visit any of your nearest Maxlife office and submit the following documents: Surrender Form duly filled and signed by the policyholder. (Attached) Original Policy document Original Id Proof (self attested). Cancelled Cheque with pre-printed name and account number.
