At tollbooth, the govt had started collecting double fines for people without fasttag. We have fasttag and we have always maintained sufficient balance in our account. But at tolls, it says that our fasttag is blacklisted. When we ask the fasttag employees say that the bank has blacklisted us. When we asked the bank they said everything is clear and it is a problem from fasttag. This is ridiculous. You can't make rules to collect double fines when you can not improve the technology. Very bad!
A lot of times, the fasttag is not getting scanned properly. Now in tolls between Madurai and Tiruchirapalli in TamilNadu, we were fined twice at all tolls. We faced this frequently in other vehicles of ours. The problem is also intermittent. It works in a few places and doesn't work in a few places. When I maintain balance why should I bare the cost if their system is not proper? That is not my problem.
Resolution I expect:
Refund the fines that you had collected and discipline the toll booth employees. Replace the scanning machines with better equipment. The bank and fasttag should be held responsible for technology/infrastructure failure.
It is very unscrupulous to charge me for a failure on their side and lack of enforcement from the government.
