I am samridhi agarwal. I applied "select" coupon code while booking an ola ride in april, which gave me one month of free membership of ola select.
After somedays, i went to "ola select subscription" page to cancel the membership, but found that there was by design no cancel button - only a "renew subscription" button (Which remains deactivated.
Meanwhile, i was hospitalised for maternity on may 19.
After the expiry of one month of this "free" membership, ola automatically charged my wallet rs 599 on may 27 and extended this "ola select" membership on a paid basis. Wow!
When i went to cancel this "ola select" subscription, i was again confronted with the same problem - there still is no option to cancel.
Next i called their call centre where i learned that i can only cancel this subscription within 7 days from the date when the money was deducted from the wallet. What more, i can't cancel the subscription of future months as well. E. G. To cancel the next month's subscription i will have to wait for the money to be deducted on 26th june and then cancel it within next 7 days, else they won't offer the return.
Needless to say, the poster boy of indian start ups has stooped so low to these dirty and dishonest tricks to earn the extra money. The whole "ola select" business smells shady when you don't give the customer the option to cancel and automatically charge him rs 599 in the garb of offering free one month membership. This leaves a very bad taste - not only the way this whole "ola select" campaign has been conceptualised and run is so disnonest, but also the way customer service executives react to the agony of customers is so heartless that it reeks of a well thought out conspiracy by ola to dupe the gullible customer of a neat rs 599 per month of his/ her hard earned money, so that ola can show profits to command a better valuation from the vcs.
I am hugely disappointed with ola to have resorted to these kind of shenanigans rather than focussing on improving the quality of falling service standards.
I want ola to not only issue the full refund of rs. 599 that they have charged me for the month of may, but also apologise and introduce a permanent "cancel the ola select subscription" button that remains active all the times, immediately on the "ola select" membership renewal page so that they can't arbitrarily charge the customer in the garb of offering something for free. Rbi officials should take note of this misuse of wallet and vcs as well.
Sorry to inform you I book a cab from ola cab first time cashless booking. After completion of ride driver to me to pay the amount .I was paid amt and I check application there is also amt is deducted.i complaint to ola after 24 hours company Denise the same .The also involved into with there driver .
