I had the most terrible experience with oyo ever. Booking id - acyl0324. I did a booking at oyo 8389 hotel temple citi in kanyakumari for 6th january to 8th january after seeing the hotel facilities and made full payment of rs 5248 online. On reaching the hotel, i was told that the booking was not reflected in the hotel database. I called up oyo customer care (Krishnan) who told because of some issue, my booking could not be completed in that hotel and he was shifting me to another hotel (Oyo 5620 c gate residency). I was assured that the new hotel is equally good and i would be facing no issues. I had elderly parents waiting with me without lunch for more than an hour and i accepted the shift. On reaching the new hotel oyo 5620, i found it is located on a highway with no transport connectivity, near a clogged drain with flies and no lift facility. Lift /ground floor room is essential for me because i was travelling with elderly parents and i double check before booking if the hotel has these facilities. The oyo property to which i was shifted was not at all acceptable for staying with family. I also saw that not just me, other travellers were also dissatisfied with that particular oyo property

I called up oyo again (Shweta) and explained my situation. I was told oyo could not arrange for a room in the initial hotel oyo 8389. I mentioned i would not be checking in at oyo 5620 and will find a place on my own. I also refused to be shifted again because i was tired, with heavy luggage and old parents and apprehensive that the next oyo might also be unacceptable. I requested for a full refund instead since i did not stay at any oyo property and had to suffer for more than 3 hours for no fault of mine. She mentioned she had escalated the issue and will be reverting.
I am not asking for any extra compensation for all the trouble we had to face unnecessarily, just asking for a rightful refund for a facility which i could not use because of oyos fault. If that is also denied, i am afraid this is the last time i will have booked with oyo. And have to discourage my colleagues and friends also to use oyo in future because no one should have to face such stress and substandard service on a trip.
Another update, even after not staying at oyo 5620 cgate residency, the hotel management updated my booking as checked in because of which i can't cancel the same. This activity happened after i mentioned to oyo customer care (Gurdeep) about not staying at that hotel and making separate arrangements for my stay.
I urge oyo team to process the refund for a genuine customer whose one day of trip was ruined because of oyos mistake and to take cognizance of the fact that the oyo 5620 hotel cgate residency is substandard and lied with regards to customer check in.
I was assured of a callback from oyo escalations team and i am yet to receive that.
