Date of the incident: June 22, 2023

Description:

This has been the most traumatic experience ever. We made the booking using the option "book without credit card", however have received repeated messages from OYO asking for a payment to avoid cancellation, hence had no option but to make an online payment of INR 3406.22.

But when my family visited the hotel today (22 Jun 2023) after a 28-hour train journey, they were denied check-in stating rooms are not provided for bookings with online payment made to OYO. I tried talking to OYO customer care and after being on call for 1 hour with 3 different representatives and kept on long holds, I was told that the Area property manager would help with the check-in however without an estimated time even when they are aware that the check-in time has already passed, and my family has been waiting at the hotel for more than 2 hours waiting to be checked in. I could not believe how could people be so insensitive.

The behavior of the representatives reflected the culture at OYO and the lack of respect or value towards customers.

My family group consisted of 6, which includes 4 senior citizens with couple of them undergoing medication for various illness, and it has been a tiring time for the whole duration.
My family was also warned by the hotel authorities to either make the payment by cash or to step out of the hotel. Finally, without an option, my family had to check-in by paying INR 5200, which is way more than the actual booking amount of INR 3406.22.

Hence, I again called the OYO customer care for a refund, and I was told that the refund request (under Ticket ID [protected]) is submitted and will be validated within 48 hours, and we will be updated about the refund status.

We need the refund at the earliest, as we already had to make the payment at the hotel and had to go through extreme inconvenience and trauma.

On June 25, 2023, we have received an email from [protected]@oyosupport.com stating that our full refund (INR 3406) would be processed within 7-14 working days, however as of today (July 12, 2023) we have still not received the refund nor any further updates from OYO. This is so frustrating to know that OYO does not bother to address customer grievances, where OYO as a company has failed completely by not fulfilling the booking even after collecting the full amount as an advance.

Even to this day, we shall never forget the terrible experience my family members (mostly senior citizens) had to go through by being refused to check-in to the hotel and made to wait outside even after making the full payment in advance.

We are still waiting for the full refund to be credited in our account.

    16th June 2023 black day for me unfortunately I booked Oyo room first time without knowing about them. I am wondering how they are running this big business without having basic set-up.

    Very common, all the service provider have same system. once you send the payment link or pay option on your website for the same customer has paid, none of the service provider will show the payment gateway again and ask them to pay. In your application I was asked to pay thrice for a single booking, the first time I paid it showed the payment gateway again thinking the previous transaction was unsuccessful I paid again and this idiocy continued one more time I thought the previous 2 transaction were failed so I paid the third time but only when I check my transaction history I realised the payment was successful all the three times the highlight is your idiotic application asked me to pay ₹1300 again while on Booking to "actually" complete the process. I should've have been cautious by this time by acknowledging this is a scam, but my brain did not think I would be fooled. After collecting the payment your application stopped working, it bombarded me with continuous error message. At that time I realised OYO looted my money.

    After a series of mishaps I reached out to your customer care service, they checked and said there is some error from our end in the application no need to pay ₹1300/- and also your excess amount which you paid will be refunded to your account.

    Time for check-in, unfortunately my client came earlier so, I asked the hotel reception they just had a single adamant answer which I quote "No room for OYO booking because they allotted AC room at a very low price to customer, in that low price they take maximum commission so we won't provide room ask them to change the property", I asked the reception why did you accept the booking if you have these concerns they said we don't know anything ask OYO. I called the customer care again, on the other side of the call a lady, brain eater picked the call and to change the property she asked my details more than ten times repeatedly and finally asked me to pay through the link she sent so, I paid ₹122 and again they said not yet received after several argument again I paid ₹122. I asked her to allocate the room for the same price but she was ignorant and allocated the room for ₹1687/- including yearly check-in price ₹100/- which I paid directly to the hotel. Now what I have paid for the previous room thrice I was refunded only twice and another transaction was not refunded. Cheated amount of ₹122 + ₹122 which is not related to me because of your mistake, you are changing the property for your own convenience. Excess amount what I have paid to the Stayed hotel because of your mistake need to be refunded otherwise will take further legal actions.

    No proper response problem not yet solved just received call from them that's it
    avoid oyo for booking hotels...no customer assistance, hotel sometime denied checkin due to low price, application & payment have frequent issue...customer executive are arrogant & uneducated people dont know much about customer satisfaction

        I had booked a room through Oyo app on 4 June 2023 at hotel- oyo townhouse 810943 saket residency (booking ID- EWDK6634) and made a payment of rs 856 but at the time of check-in the manager denied to give me a room saying his rooms were full for that I had filed a complaint at Oyo customer support and they said that the refund will be reflected to me in 7-14 days but I have not got the refund yet and the 14 days period is also over.
        I have tried reaching their customer support through call and mail but I have not got a good response from them.
        Kindly do the needful and get me my money back.

          I had booked a hotel through Oyo app, hotel named as oyo collection o Nirvana Residency (Booking Id- NXI11388) and I hade done the payment through Oyo app of rs 1348 but the hotel manager denied to accept that payment and I had to pay rs1348 again to the hotel manager to get a room after that I have tried to reach Oyo customer support through call and mail but I have not got a good response from them and my money back yet.

            Dear team,
            I booked an oyo room in Flagship Royal Palace from Oyo application and paid online for that room .Booking for that room is DRXP2711 . We are being denied check in by that property since we paid online . According to them oyo application pays them late, so until and unless they are getting that money they wont let us in. They took to id to verify and in the mean time they showed us checked in when we wanted to compaint in that app. This is a fraud act. We talked to the oyo agent for 12 minutes and got verbal assurance that we will get our refund . After that we left the place .This is a pathetic experience for any customer. The oyo has already denied our refund through email. I am attaching images here. Kindly look in to the matter and do the needful.

              I have not been refunded amount regarding my booking. I was denied checkin by the hotel staff reason being that they had not received the booking amount from the company side. I had paid at the time of booking but still was denied checkin and was told that I would refunded within 7 to 14 days. Its been about a month and still not received amount in my source account. Customer care did not transfer my call to the concerned department. I am attaching my details:

                I had done a prepaid booking from oyo app for a hotel in mumbai. I was denied checkin as the hotel staff said they had not received payment from the oyo company. I filed a complained in the customer care . I tried calling them several times but none of them responded and were behaving badly. Its been a month since the amount is stuck. Please help me.                   While booking the hotel room, I selected breakfast option which was available, but after reaching the hotel, I was denied breakfast saying we don't have an in-house kitchen, and you have to pay extra for breakfast.
                  The hotel manager told us to contact Oyo to get a refund.

                  I tried to contact Oyo, and after several calls, they said the refund of 4500 rupees has been initiated, and will be processed within 7- 14 business days. But after waiting for an entire month, we did not get the money back.

                  Then after repeatedly trying to contact Oyo, they said that there were some technical errors on their end, and the refund was not processed. Then they initiated the refund again, and as usual, it is has been more than 7- 14 business days. I would really like the money that Oyo stole from me back as early as possible. I've also attached a screenshot from a previous email where it is mentioned that the refund process was initiated. Kindly advise me on how I can get back the money that Oyo stole from me.

                  I have tried to contact Oyo several times, even at the front desk. However, after hearing my concern about Oyo scamming me out of my refund, the front desk puts me on hold for a suspiciously long period of time with the excuse that they are checking something, and after a while, the call just fails automatically.

                  I genuinely do not know what to do now.

                  After continuously complaining and writing multiple emails (more than 20 of them) and calling OYO over 20-25 times, after around 2 months of waiting (where we were told to wait for 7- 14 days only) OYO refunded me my money of 4500 rupees on the 27th of June. They gave us back the money after initiating the refund money four different times on four separate occassions. The excuse they provided for the previous attempts were that there was a technical glitch. It was a long and arduous process of getting them to cough up the money that they had stolen, but I am very glad they gave us back our money. My experience with OYO Customer Support has been worse than horrible, and I would never recommend their company to anyone. Before I posted about their scammy nature on this forum, I would only be dealing with guest experience managers, but after posting it on here, we got a call from someone from the main office who offered us a guarantee that we would get the money back. I suggest everyone use this platform to voice their concerns against OYO. I would rate the refund process and experience as 1/10 (Simply because I did end up getting my money back)

                  To keep a track of things, I got a call from Oyo on the 14th of June about the refund, and the same thing happened. They said that they'll process the refund again, and it will take 7- 14 days to reach my bank account. This is the 3rd time it is happening. I shall this thread updated.

                    Address: OYO Flagship Laxmi Residency 38389, Market To Gunj Road, Market Road, Karimnagar

                    We booked two OYO Rooms ( UDYG1950- OYO Flagship Laxmi Residency) and upon reaching there we were shocked to see that the Hotel is right in the middle of a Vegetable market, where traders come to sell their Vegetables at midnight 1.00 am.
                    And further there is no carpark available at the Hotel, and that we will have to park the Car 1 km away from the Hotel.
                    Upon trying to contact the Customer Service there is no proper response and we were told to be on the line for more than two hours.
                    Now I receive a mail saying that I did not show up at the Hotel and that there will be no refund.

                    While you said that car parking is not available has been clearlu mentioned, I have a screenshot of the same hotel showing a parking facility
                    In many websites, the same hotel shows parking available but the Customer Support says otherwise, please see attached.

                      I booked room in Oyo app by calling Oyo that guy said he has room available for the date I asked and told me it will cost 6300 but i[censored] pay now through gpay it will be Rs.5652 so I said ok then send a request to my gpay I paid amount deducted from my account and gpay shows payment successful but that guy Said I lying i didn't pay and ask me to pay again that he will send request but denied.
                      Then I called my bank they said payment done from their said they can't do anything ask gpay or Oyo .then I called gpay they said same that the payment was successful and oyo received the money I should ask them.

                          I booked hotel on 18 may 2023 through booking.con. Payment linked provided by oyo & I paid through it but checkin time property owner told me that your booking is cancelled.Then I stayed there by paying another money.I reported issued immediately & I got assistance from oyo side that they agreed to give refund amount but after 14 days I didn’t receive any refund amount then I called once again to oyo customer care they told me that we are unable to refund.
                          This booking is cancelled from oyo side so they have to pay for it.

                            I booked three bookings from my oyo accounts.. in August 16, 2022

                            Booking id:- H0R50713
                            Amt should be refunded - 521

                            Booking id:- CI5N0556
                            Amt should be refunded - 899

                            After trying almost thousand times to their customer care, they always tell "Please hold for 5 mins, we are giving your money back". Then put the line on hold and after 10 minutes it disconnects automatically,

                            Please don't oay Oyo for advance booking anyhow. Everyone should stand against this company

                            Then if I call again another customer representatives starts from beginning, I tell me to forward my call to previous agent, I say the name too. But they don't and start from first and put me on hold after promising the same. Once I called for 2-3 days regularly, everyday I wasted 3-4 hours of my time.

                              My booking ID is ALEP1718. I have booked a room in kajiranga nation park by OYO in December 2022 . The property owner refused to accept the booking through OYO and I cancelled my booking after talking to OYO'S costomer service centre. But till now I don't receive my money back into my account. Please resolve the issue.

                                I booked a room from the Oyo app on 8th June 2023. The payment was completed but after the completion of the price, the app was still showing the amount is pending. I tried to reach customer care, but they ghosted me without any solution. They in fact generated the booking id also which is INY76494. Now I can not cancel or go to the hotel. I want my refund.

                                  I booked room in capital o hotel soni inn on 3rd june through oyo app. My booking ID is BYLF8448. But at checkin property manager told that he cannot give room at such low price and they are not even able to give refund as I have already paid on oyo app. They said that they dont received money from oyo you can contact customer care. I tried to contact customer care but was unable to reach. I had to book another hotel as already previously I had booked some other hotel, oyo shifted me to this property. Also booking is removed from oyo app. I have shared screenshot of booking received on mail. Kindly initiate my refund of cancelled booking as soon as possible.

                                    My booking ID is PL7M0858, in Prayagraj. Post 3 days of checkout when I went for payment receipt generation it was just ₹80 in the receipt whereas I made a payment of ₹2469. On continuously calling the help desk and asking for the receipt, they either put me on hold or disconnected the call. Till date haven’t received the proper receipt. I don’t know how the company is still going on such bad mismanagement. Shame!

                                      I had booked OYO rooms through customer care... after booking confirmation and advance payment.. Hotel persons asking extra money for the rooms.. this type of incidents are happening many times with me... it is my request to the government to banned this app... otherwise poor and illiterate persons will suffer more... Many patient were visiting their hotels... but response is getting worst day by day...

                                        Hi there! I have booked oyo room and paid the entire amount. But after arriving at hotel they informed there they do not have any booking. After that i had called oyo customer care. They tried to transfer my booking to another hotel but failed and said they can only refund the amount. Even after 15 days i have not got any refund. My booking id is IO7G1987. My SIG escalation Ticket ID: [protected]
