Dear Team,
I have booked a bus ticket (Guntur to Chennai) with "Paytm" service (order no: [protected]) for my wife and myself on 09 Jul 2016. Before booking the ticket I have viewed the cancellation policy of the SVR Translines (bus operator) in my IOS app. It was clearly mentioned that "if we cancel the ticket between 5 hrs to 24 hrs before the bus departure you will get 90% refund". By seeing the cancellation policy of the bus in the IOS app, I have confidently booked the ticket. Due to personal reasons my wife travel got postponed and I had to travel alone to Chennai from Guntur. When I opened the paytm IOS app, the app didn't allow me to cancel my wife ticket alone, so I had to forcefully cancel both of our tickets, hoping that I would get 90% refund as mentioned in the cancellation policy. Later I have booked another ticket from REDBUS IOS app for my travel to Chennai and I have travelled on the same day which is on 10 July 2016.
Now the problem here is, Paytm has not credited 90% refund for my bus cancellation. When I raised a complaint (Ticket No: 06027561/[protected] with Paytm, they have mentioned that "If you cancel the ticket between 0 hrs to 12 hrs before the departure of the bus you will get 0% refund". They have posted the same message content in their desktop site, but the cancellation policy which I have seen is from IOS app. When I have argued with them that
they have mentioned it in the IOS app, they kept quiet and din't respond for my questions for 1.5 months. Later I have tried to replicate the scenario by booking the same bus and took the screen shot of the cancellation policy which clearly described "if we cancel the ticket between 5 to 24 hrs before the bus departure you will get 90% refund". I have sent the screen shot proof to the paytm customer care representatives and they din't respond anything relavant to the screenshot.
After 1.5 months (14 Aug 2016) I got a call from paytm customer care representative and he has asked me to replicate the issue in IOS. When I tried to replicate the issue, I can see that they have changed the
cancellation policy of the bus operator in the IOS app. I have asked him did you do any releases/patch updates to the Paytm IOS app, he said no to it but I have seen the recent they have depolyed a patch in the IOS app on 04 Aug 2016. The customer care lied to me that there were no patches. I have asked them few questions to answer but they haven't replied for any of my questions.
Here are my questions.
Why did you take 1.5 months to reach the customer ?
When I reported the software bug initially to the customer care representative, why did he accepted it ?
How do you prove that the screenshot I have taken is not from SVR Translines ?
Can you provide any proofs that you have not released any pathes to the IOS app ?
I have also attached the screenshot of the cancellation policy I have taken.
Consequences:
Paytm app didn't allow me to cancel my wife ticket alone, so I had to forcefully cancelled both of our tickets, hoping that I would get 90% refund as mentioned in the cancellation policy. Later I have
booked another ticket from REDBUS IOS app for my travel to Chennai and I have travelled on the same day which is on 10 July 2016.
Because of that reason I had to loose Rs.3180 (For cancelling the paytm ticket which I thought 90% will get refunded) + Rs.1600 (The bus I have booked with REDBUS) = Rs. 4780.
Relief Required:
I would like to get my refund of Rs.2862 (which is 90% of Rs.3180). Hope it clarifies you to accept that it is the bug/glitch in the paytm IOS app.
By mistake I have given wrong address for delivery an item. Order number is '[protected]'. Please change my current added address.
