This is with reference to my purchased id no: 30353835 dtd:[protected] from m/s pepperfry online shopping for 2no tupperware containers. This tupperware containers were shipped via delhivery courier with taking id[protected] and received by me on 09.11.2017. After opening the box it was found that the product looks old, odd in size and poor in quality. The issue was immediately taken up with m/s pepperfry customer care and request was raised for return of this the product since i am not satisfied with the product, but customer care department has not approved my return but supported the supplier. They thought the customer satisfaction is not important to them.

The issue was again taken up with m/s pepperfry customer care and requested for return. But unfortunately the m/s pepperfry customer care was adamant for return of this product. Hence i was forced to raise consumer complaint.

To resolve this issue once for all i kindly request the following i) please make arrangement for collecting the product from my address or i will send the product to the supplier. Ii) after receiving the returned product please issue the refund of the items and courier charges if sent by the undersigned.

This will resolve the issue once for all. Hoping for positive action from you considering the seriousness of the issue.

    Quite against the wishes of my well wishers and my wife, i wanted to take a chance and order furniture on an e-commerce site. Although this category is strictly a 'look-and-feel-before-you-buy', i wanted to gauge the honesty, truthfulness and business ethics of pepperfry.

    After doing a lot of research about wood types and its longevity as against the cost involved, i zeroed in on engineered wood type of mdf (Medium density fibreboard). And after sifting through hundreds of single beds with storage, i finally liked the "mczoe trundle bed with storage headboard in satin white & yellow by mollycoddle". It was clearly stated on the website that we can "easily return within 7 days". And thus armed with some confidence, i went ahead and ordered the bed by paying a sum of 11, 329/- after a discount of some 3000 change.

    To begin with, they delivered 9 days before time and i was impressed! The delivery guy called ahead of delivery and in return i called cust. Care to schedule a carpenter to assemble on the same day. To my surprise, the bed was assembled on the same day.

    And this is where the problems started. I noticed that the outer frame and panels were of mdf as promised. And when it came to the panels upon which the mattress will finally rest, i was shocked to find out that they were made of cheap quality wood!! This is quite against the advertised quality for the bed which clearly states "primary wood : mdf". (Image attached)

    Since when is the main panel, which supports the entire human weight, made out of light weight cheap quality wood?? The same panels are also repeated on the trundle (The bed underneath the main bed).

    Predictably calling customer care and initiating a return on the website yielded no result.in fact they had the gall to "close the return order" without consulting me first.

    This is the shallowness and complete lack of apathy these cheating e-commerce portals run on.

    This is a clear case of 'breach of trust' where the customer is cheated by first being shown something and then delivering quite the other!

    I want a complete return with whatever fines applicable from pepperfry. I am willing to dig in my heals and make them pay for 'cheating', 'falsification', 'intentionally hiding facts', 'hiding behind technicality' (E. G : primary wood : mdf; where they are not considering the main support panel as non-primary), 'wrong-doing', 'mental agony', 'breach of trust' etc.

    Let this serve as a lesson to not cheat/rob customers of their hard earned money. Let this also serve as a broom to clean the dirty world of e-commerce portals like pepperfry and so many others.

    You want to go the legal way, i am more than willing to as i am sure the "technicality" behind which you are hiding will be ripped apart and your true face unveiled.

    So after a few days of initiating a return, I receive emails informing me of their inability to refund the amount as the product was "delivered as mentioned on our website".

    After that I receive a call from one Amarjit from Pepperfry who introduced himself as a Manager (of frauds??) of some dept. He arrogantly told me "aapka product return nahi hoga sir", with such a finality that I was prompted to ask him "is it part of your job to deny claim right from the word go, without even bothering to listen to what I have to say??"

    His answer "sir aap kuch bhi kehlo, order to return nahi hoga"

    I said "are you sure you are saying this, as this call is being recorded". He nonchalantly replied "haan pata hain record ho raha hai, phir bhi product return nahi hoga"

    So I concluded that Pepperfry first lures the customers with their flashy advts and promise of Big Savings, but in return ruthlessly cheat and rob the customers of their hard earned money. And the product I received came in cartons which proudly said "Made in Brazil". So if you are extremely unlucky, you will not only get cheated out of your money, but will also be stuck with an inferior quality product sold by the esteemed Robbers & Cheaters Inc M/s Pepperfry.

    Stay away from this furniture portal. They are thugs and they will go to any extent to cheat the customers.

      dismantling and reassembling of bed

      When the purchased bed with compartments (October, 2015) was assembled by the carpenter from pepperfry, we were given assurance that service will be provided to dismantle and reassembly of the bed anywhere when contacted with pepperfry. Now we had to shift (November 2017) to a new place and when tried to contact peperfry with our query of dismantling and reassembly they say they don't provide service at all. How weird is the customer support...

      I bought elegant germany ele - 1008 chimney on 5 march 2016 via pepperfry.
      Warranty is to cover motor function for 5 years.in 18 months it has stopped running. Warranty services unreachable.

      I have visited the website of elegant home appliances and i have explained the issues several times. Yet no response.

      Pepperfry made some offers and we ordered the product, although elegant company is in delhi.

        The cot is just three months old, and day before yesterday it was my third day sleeping on the cot since we kept it for guest room, since we have a different cot for us.
        The cot broke in middle of the night. Luckily i didnt get hurt.
        When i contacted your customer care and raised a complaint, they closed it telling it is wear and tear issue. So they cannot replace or repair it.
        Their customer team agreed the product is not up to the mark and suggested not to buy any furniture from online.
        But as per the policy they says warranty is 36 months for manufacturing defect, this is just cheating.. How can they say warranty of 36 months for manufacturing defect.
        They are just cheating customers. Please look into the issue.

          I had purchased a product online Order[protected]:Isten Single Seater Sofa Cum Bed on 15th Nov 2017 and paid Rs.9822. However I was not able to unfold and use it like a bed. So called the CustomerService the very next day N requested for demo as there was no user manual as well. They instructed that I initiate a refund. However, post that there was no update inspite of repeated follow-ups nor an update on return status. When escalated they were rude and said they cannot provide user manual nor a demo nor a refund/return. They themselves justified that they delivered a faulty product by advertising false information on website. Its not a small amount and they cannot cheat customers to this extent. I did not expect this from pepperfry. Request that this is looked into at the earliest and my return is processed.

            I ordered a set of paintings from pepperfry website but due surge prices i wanted to cancel the order but their customer care service is saying that there is no possibility to cancel and no refund. It is too much as still the order hasn't been dispatched. So many customers also facing this problem. So please take immediate action as early as possible and save many customers from this type of inconvenience. Always remember customer is the king.

              I have purchased an iron bed from peperfry.com for rs 5820 on 28th october 2017. Order no. Is[protected]. For assembly, no carpenter came for 4 days (As they say they get it assembled within 48 hours of delivery). The bed is of very poor quality. Its headrest and footrest are bending just with a touch. Plastic hooks between nuts are already broken. When i complaint about this on customer care, they say it is as per standard and they refuse to take return. I don't know why they are selling such a fake and cheap quality product online and faking their customers.

                I have ordered water closet from pepperfry[protected]. This is the first company in e-commerce sector which does not allow order cancellation even after a minute after placing the order. After placing the order i requested them to cancel first order and place second order. This was communicated to them within 2 to 3 minutes after payment. But, they simply declined and started asking read policy!

                This was the most unfriendly customer care experience i ever had!

                Learning - never buy from substandard e-commerce sites like pepperfry. Amazon, flipkart, snapdeal have customer friendly policies. Go with them.

                  I had purchased a four door wardrobe from pepperfry in jan 2017 and within 6 months the wardrobe has started falling apart.. Door handles broken, channels of drawers are not working... Made a complaint to pepperfry through their website giving details of the damage and pic of damaged furniture... Got response on 28.10.19 that return is being initiated... Nothing happened for ext 10 days... Contacted again today on their customer care number where i was told that the concerned is not available and shall talk to me in the evening.. Just received a mail from pepperfry that they cannot help me in any way and termed the bad quality as damage due to wear and tear... Asked me to get it rectified through local contacts... I am feeling cheated now and do not know what to do now... Putting up my complaint on this platform to get some suggestions from anyone how to deal with this situation now and get back my money..

                    We really had bad experience with pepperfry india- we bought the coat on 17th feb-2016, order number[protected] vipra solid wood queen size bed.its not even 2years and the bed is broken, the front panel just came off and thankfully we avoided a big accident.
                    we contacted the customer care service they said they cant do anything as the product is out off warranty. we paid 19000/- for this product. we thought peperfry is a trust worthy brand but it is completely hopeless.
                    we regret buying this product..will never buy again and we want people to know the reality of such companies.

                      I have orderd (Order id:[protected] a wardrobe from pepperfry. It's assembly is showing as 'carpenter assembly'.
                      But after getting the product, they are saying that they will not send any carpenter in my location.
                      After asking in which area they were giving the assamble facility. Their reply was 'we do not have any such facility in whole west bengal'.
                      I have only 1 question, why you people are fooling your customer by showing in website that 'product requires carpenter assembly' will be assemble by your authorise customer.

                      At Pepperfry, we do not intend to upset our customers at any given moment. This maybe a one off case with such magnitudes.                       This mail is in context to your grievance posted on consumer forum. As per discussion, your pin code does not fall under carpenter serviceability, and the same has was been mentioned on our portal, before purchasing the product. We have arranged for a reverse pick up, and the same should be commenced within the next 3-5 days. Refund would be initiated once the product is picked up. Post initiation, it takes 7-10 business days for the amount to hit the bank account, and it would reflect under the name of “Trendsutra Platform Services Pvt Ltd”.

                        For starters, pepperfry does not provide you with an email id where you can communicate your grievances concerning things like extremely inferior packaging, damaged product or poor assembly - all the issues that i faced having ordered a product - an office chair worth inr 9.4k, with them. The only way you can communicate with them is via submitting a form on their website, and all you get in return is a "thank you" note or an email quoting a certain complaint number or some such thing! You can never keep a record of the communication you send them since it does not go from your inbox and they do not reply to the same email! They send you standalone responses over separate emails without appending your email! What's more - they say whatever they please - even things which are not relevant to your request, grievance or feedback or things you categorically have stated you do not wish to for! So it is like a one-way communication and almost unethical. Their systems are designed to suit them and are entirely customer unfriendly. You can never even prove that you wrote to them or have a record of written conversations with them! That to me is close to fraud and being unethical and non-transparent. That's not all - they will even limit the amount of content and images you can share with them in some forms they give us as a substitute to emailing them.in desperation, i tried emailing on every single email id which they had received emails from them while ordering like [protected]@pepperfry.com but all in vain!

                        We ordered a chair from them that arrived in a very poor packaging. The guys who delivered the product struggled to take the product out as the parts of the product were stuffed & strained badly against each other with no internal packaging whatsoever! They even failed to assemble it. The back of the chair which had a delicate mesh/fabric felt not stiff enough - as it was impacted, certain elements of the chair had also got crumpled like the bottom ribbed structure. Next, we were asked to call a carpenter which we did and he arrived without any prior consent on time of arrival, spent less than 10 mins fixing the chair and his work did not look ok to us (For instance the screws of the chair didn't look like they were fitted very well) but he paid no heed to our feedback, behaved badly and stormed out!

                        As soon as i sat on the chair, two screws fell off from it and i got off immediately to prevent a mishap - fall/injury! Also, as expected the back mesh was uncomfortable and slacky. Clearly, it was impacted. The chair hence was obviously not acceptable.

                        So we called pepperfry again! Long story short - we asked for either replacement of the chair or refund. The first day they said they will get back on how long the replacement would take (Customer rep: shalu) and today they said that they don't have a replacement policy at all and they will prefer sending a new carpenter to repair the chair instead! (Cust rep: ajay). I insisted on refund but they did not budge and simply sent me an email later that a new carpenter will come with no history whatsoever of all that has transpired. No prior communication appended or case history captured. Nothing! Just a one liner that a carpenter will be visiting (Along with a new compaint/ref number)!

                        Imagine being forced to accept a damaged and risky product and compromise with accepting "repairs" on a brand new product. Infact some parts of the chair like the back seat mesh will not even be repaired as they "feel" it is okay just by seeing a photo (And not by experiencing it). I wonder what i can do now since i have already paid up.

                        Additionally their customer care is pathetic and annoying. They will even question whether any of the things that you are complaining about have actually happened because their is no witness from pepperfry!

                        Avoid pepperfry! It is a waste of everything good and an epitome o[censored]nprofessionalism.

                          I brought an item from pepperfry which costs 12000 rs and it got delivered on 29th october. I didnt liked the look and dimensions of item doesn't suit our purpose so i raised a return request of the item.

                          But pepperfry claimed that they do not return unless the item is damaged. People can change there minds and as a citizen i expect i have a right to return the product undamaged.

                              Hi, i purchased a entertainment unit through pepperfry in july 2017.in september 2017, within 2 months, the unit starting having defects. Since the unit is under 36 months warranty, i raised a complaint. But for last 10 days, i am following up, but no help.
                              Complaint number is ph[protected]On 26th october, 2017).
                              I spoke to agents vaishnavi, subham and their floor supervisor vincent. They all promised a call back, but never arranged for the same.
                              Pepperfry is lying about the special tool and special part being arranged for the rectification, but on asking what tool or what part, they have no idea, including their supervisor.in fact, they never called to discuss the detail of the issue and just spinning the stories.
                              Totally a fraud website with extremely poor customer service.

                                I have ordered 2 orpat ceiling fans on the useless pepperfry website.in website they clearly said 1 day shipment. After paid the money, i got a information that i will get the fans after 2 weeks. I was literally shocked and raised a complaint to cancel the order as soon as i receive the shipment details. (Within 5 minutes of order). The next day one arrogant person called me and said that we cannot cancel the order and they will ship it as they like. These people are simply cheating us and i have decided to file a case in consumer court for cheating me.

                                I request everyone to stop buying from this fraud website. They will show attractive price to cheat people. I repeat, do not buy from them.

                                Greetings of the day.

                                At Pepperfry, we do not intend to upset our customers at any given moment. This maybe a one off case with such magnitudes. Having said that, we would positively work on it, so that such instances are not repeated in near future. Also we would pass on the feedback to the relevant departments, to safeguard on customer excellence parameters.

                                We would place a hold on the order and get it refunded, which should be done within a day or two. Post initiation, it takes 7-10 business days for the amount to hit the bank account, and it would reflect under the name of “Trendsutra Platform Services Pvt Ltd”.

                                We are doing this as an exception, as orders once placed cannot be cancelled. Request you to please refer to our cancellation policy guidelines.

                                  I agree. Pepperfry is a fraud.

                                  They sold me a 3rd rate waterpurifier whose mrp is rs. 7250 at rs. 4899 but claimed to have given me a rs. 12000 discount that'd make the original price at 16899 almost rs. 17000.

                                  This product needs to be installed only by the manufacturer, otherwise the pathetically short time 3-month warranty on electronic parts is void!!

                                  And of course, i have to pay rs. 499 for the installation which is a 1 minute job of connecting the water pipe to the unit!!

                                  Total fraudsters.

                                  And yes, they will not accept any returns. Product has to have arrived defective to qualify as return. Based upon quality or misinformation, as a customer they give no right to return the product.

                                  So basically, they have no returns policy. They do not mention any of these details on their website. It is all carefully concealed. Their advertisement is quite misleading.

                                  Pepperfry needs to be put out of business.

                                    1. We had visited the pepperfry store in kirti nagar, new delhi, in early september 2017, and selected two items, viz:-
                                    — dvina sideboard in provincial teak finish by woodsworth priced at ~inr 17, 000/-; and
                                    — elkhorn chest of six drawers in provincial teak finish by woodsworth proced at ~inr 21, 000/-.

                                    2. Being ex-store, we were asked by the said store to place an order on the link that would be sent on our email id.

                                    3. However, when we opened the link, we found that the price of one item (Dvina sideboard) had been abruptly hiked to double the original amount while the second piece (Elkhorn chest of drawers) was shown as out of stock.

                                    4. We corresponded with m/s pepperfry on this anomaly but were given a standard reply about fluctuating prices.

                                    5. Disappointed, we finally decided to order the mito entertainment unit by mintwud (Order placed at 11.2 am on 27 sept 2017).

                                    6. A few hours after placing this order, we were informed that the original two items we had selected were now available at the original discounted price.

                                    7. I immediately spoke to pepperfry's customercare, and was assured that as long as we place an order for the other two items (Worth ~ inr 39, 500/-, the order for the mito e/unit would be cancelled. Pepperfry sent two emails (27 sept; 04.27 pm and 06.45 pm) confirming cancellation of this mito e/unit order and accepting the order for the two other items.

                                    8. The same day we visited the said pepperfry store, explained the situation to store manager shri rahul adlakha and one shri s bisht, placed an order for the said two items (Dvina and elkhorn), paid by cheque (As they said it would be ex-store b-to-b order), and importantly also asked them ensure the order for the mito e/unit was cancelled.in turn, both spoke to their concerned superiors, who affirmed to them what we had stated.

                                    9. On 29 sept evening, i received an email from pepperfry stating that the mito e/unit has been shipped.

                                    10. We reverted to m/s pepperfry and informed them of the interaction, calls and correspondence between me and pepperfry.

                                    11. Then began our travail. Till date - 45 days after the first interaction and almost 25 days since the money was paid (Total inr 50, 000) (Inr 11, 000 for the mito e/unit and inr 39, 999 for the dwina and elkhorn items), neither have i got a refund nor have the other two items been delivered.

                                    12. I have sent a number of emails detailing the situation along with all evidence to pepperfry.in return, in each case they sent a standard reply that our team will get back to you in 24-48 hrs, but to no avail.

                                    13. I have escalated the emails to their grievance officer - again to no avail.

                                    14. Thereafter, i have escalated it to their founder - but it is as if they just do not care. It is also as if they cannot read the emails - as on the two occasions that their rep called, he/she just did not know the details. Clearly, they had not read the emails or bothered to go into the details of the case.

                                    15. Today, i got an email stating that they would be picking up the mito e/unit from my home. When informed that the item was cancelled and never delivered, the rep said that she would get back to us.

                                    16.in my view, one of the following two things are happening:-
                                    — pepperfry is so badly organised that neither the staff nor the founders really now what is happening in their company. This is a very sad state of affairs in a digitised age.
                                    — or, the staff - and the founders - are deliberately holding on to the money, hoping to tire me out and have no intention of either refunding for one item and delivering the other two items.

                                    3. But given my recent experience with you, and the utter confusion and ineptness that I have witnessed, I doubt the image-compliant juxtaposition will help, as, starting from 27 Sept, you haven't been able to understand a simple problem despite:-
                                    - 18 SMSs from YOU;
                                    - 16 emails from YOU confirming my interaction with you / receipt of my 11 emails (including three very detailed ones).
                                    - add to it my 19 conversations with Shri Sushant Bisht and Shri Rahul Adlakha (of the Pepperfry store at Kirti Nagar, New Delhi);
                                    - interactions with your Customer Care/Team on tele no. [protected], including with Ms. Tanuja Parab (23 Sept; 0920 PM & 0933 PM); Ms Sana Ansari (27 Sep at 4:27 PM); Ms. Vaishnavi Joshi (27 Sep at 5:58 PM); Ajay Maharaul (28 Sep at 28 Sep at 12.06 PM & 12:20 PM); Sophia Dsouza (07 Oct at 11:36 AM); Ms. Noorin Qureshi (23 Oct at 7:25 PM); Ajay Panpatil (26 Oct at 10:48 AM); Bilal Khan (26 Oct at 5:54 PM).

                                    4. If despite this body of interaction since 27 Sept 2017, you still don't know what's happening, well, I do not blame you - I am convinced that you are the unequivocal winners of the Darwin Awards for this year.

                                    5. I will be uploading the emails next. So, like they say, Watch This Space!! And a few others too in the coming days.

                                    5. To the Founders: Despite my best attempts, I have not been able to reach you. The level of mismanagement in your company is epic and if this is the situation in a digital age / informationised world, I don't know what to say.

                                    1. Yet another mess up by M/s Pepperfry.

                                    I had ordered four sets of Doyours Glossy S/Steel Grab Bars, all bearing
                                    SKU No. BB1450884-SPM2860 as under:-

                                    - Serial One: Order No.[protected] for one set. Status - Delivered. AWB as per Pepperfry's website is RKT6447519, which matches with the Delivery Form 402. Problem - NIL.

                                    - Serial Two: Orders No.[protected]two sets) and[protected]one set). Status - Delivered. problems with this Order:-
                                    --- Items corroded / blackened.
                                    --- Items are different from those delivered against Serial One (Order No.[protected] although the SKU for all is the same.
                                    --- Items of Serial One are welded to the grab bar. The flange of Serial Two are secured with a bolt.
                                    --- AWB as per Pepperfry's website is RKT6447486; however the AWB as per the Delivery Form 402 is RKT6447503.
                                    ---The packing of Serials One and Two are different.

                                    AND AS USUAL, THERE IS NO RESPONSE FROM M/s PEPPERFRY !!!

                                      As per web site four colours shown white, blue, red and yellow but they have supply white, red, yellow and black.in the description nowhere mentioned that supply will be made as per available colour.in place of blue they have supplied black colour.
                                      In the other product item multicolour iron diwali lantern - set of 4 by house2home showing colour white, yellow, blue and black separate available in the website
                                      I have requested through compliant / feedback on[protected]. But no action has been taken to replace or refund my money till date.

                                      The pepperfry failed to made the supply as per description shown on website. They were requested to replace the product and supply as per order and description on website but they have closed my case. Amount was also not refunded till date.
                                      Hence you are requested to take action against pepperfry as per rule for refund my money along with interest on money which they have utilised with compensation of rs.1000.00 for losses suffered by me in my bank account immediately.

                                      I ordered a couch on Oct 4th for an occasion and it is not delivered. I found an alternative option. The occasion is on Oct 31st and I want to cancel the order because I don't have time to wait for the delivery
