Hi, I just placed this order[protected] from Pepperfry about an hour ago.
I paid the amount by credit card.
The order hasnt even shipped yet.
I called them to cancel the order and initiate a refund.
They refused and are not helping me

Pepperfry customer care is not helping me.

The product is a Office chair .This is the link for it -

Earlier also on the Indian customer care page the same complaint has been lodged by some customer. They need to change their policies.

    Stay away from Pepperfry!!!I got a product with a different color and fabric as compared to what was advertised on the website. When I complained the representative calls and tells me the vendor is saying the color is the same.I told them I have sent you the pictures, compare the color yourself.To which they responded saying it's supposed to be a multicolor product.now I can only laugh at myself for falling in this pepperfry trap as even their terms say the color may vary.Lesson learnt for sure, I have bought several products from other online furniture stores but never faced a quality issue.I will never buy from Pepperfry again and would highly recommend others to go patronize local furniture stores as you will get what you see or go for self manufacturing furniture stores like urban ladder because in that case they can guarantee the quality they deliver.

      I wrongly placed the order with different payment method. So i like to cancel the order and then like to place through different payment option.

      Pepperfry not providing any flexiblity to change the order. Once your payment in next minute you don't have any control on that. Even you report the customer service they don't hear and they are not ready to cancel.

      It is kind of forcing the customer to force to receive the order because payment.

      Pepperfry should change policy or someaction should be taken on their service.

        I bought an idol fountain for 12, 500. It was delivered after 15 days and there was a visible crack on the product. I gave return item on the product along with the picture of the broken product.
        A customer service rep called me and said the original product on the site also has the same crack (this is lie since I zoomed as much as I can and could not find any damn thing on the product in their website after this call). I asked him whether they are selling product knowing that it is broken and he started to blabber that it is the finish of the product(well trained or too much of practical knowledge cheating other customers). Finally he said I can't do anything we wont take your order for return.

        So their policy is NO RETURN AFTER PURCHASE EVEN IF THE ITEM WE SOLD IS BROKEN.

        I also got an email from them. Copy pasting it below.

        With reference to your online return request of your Pepperfry Order #[protected] DE1556832-S-PM1573

        We have a company policy where if the customer don’t like the product ordered from Pepperfry and also if it is not as expected case in such cases unfortunately we can’t take the return. Even in quality issue we do not take the return.

        Hence we are considering this case as closed.

        I agree. Pepperfry is a fraud.

        They sold me a 3rd rate WaterPurifier whose MRP is Rs. 7250 at Rs. 4899 but claimed to have given me a Rs. 12000 discount that'd make the original price at 16899 almost Rs. 17000.

        This product needs to be installed ONLY by the manufacturer, other the 3-month warranty on electronic parts is void !! And of course, I have to pay Rs. 499 for the installation which is a 1 minute job of connecting the water pipe to the unit !!

        Total fraudsters. And yes, they will not accept any returns. Product has to have arrived defective. So basically, they have NO returns policy.

        They do not mention any of these details on their website. It is all carefully concealed.

        Pepperfry needs to be put out of business.

          Very unfair and one sided policy. Not a win win situation. Its a win for them and loose for customer

          While i was about to become a loyal customer of pepperfry i have been left with a very bad reponse from the team of pepperfry.

          Just go give you a quick reference to what i am speaking about. I have first time purchased from pepperfry and wish to return two out of three products purchased reason being i am not happy with the comfort of the sofa. I am being forced to keep this product becasue pepperfry says its a policy that the product should be either damanged or incorrect. However when i visited your studio i was told about a certain comfort which is not meeting my expectation.
          If your company dosnt make exceptions on policy they are only loosing potential customers

          I have written to you and i hope for a positive revert. I was told by juri (mostly thats the name) on the call center that a senior person mr bilal khan will call me by the EOD today but i did not receive any call and so i write to you with some hope.

            I bought 2-sofas from pepper fry and after a week got an SMS to say the order will be delivered on or before 25th March2017 as it has already reached the warehouse in hyderabad. But it was not delivered. When i called on 26th the customer support agent said it will be delivered on 28th March2017. I called again on 27th Mar to make sure it was planned for delivery on 28th MAr but the agent who took the call said the previous agent didnt know it was holiday on 28th so now it will be delivered on 29th Mar. When I called again on 29th Mar the new agent who took my call said the other 2-agents didnt know the process and at any cost she will make sure my order is delivered on the 30th Mar. Today when i called, another agent picks up and tells me it will be delivered on the 1st April. Each time I ask them to hand over the call to a manager but they say they are not allowed to do that and i just have to speak to them and take the BS they are talking.
            This has been the worst experience and I have decided never ever again to but anything from pepperfry. Worst customer service ever. They are least bothered about the customers. When I asked for refund they said it is not possible. Cheap people. Not sure who is the CEO of such a useless and a Fraud site. I will make sure none of my family or friends ever buy anything from this useless org.

              Ordered and paid for dining set. Carpenter could not assemble it because screws and other hardware needed were not delivered with the wooden planks and metal frames. Intimated on call and mail. No response after 4 weeks and 7 to 8 customer care calls.
              Each time, the call centre support (mostly a girl named Vandana) mentions some manager's name (Karanveer) who will look into this shortly. This happens on every call but no response from Pepperfry's side after the call.

              How hard can it be to get spares from the vendor and deliver it to us. If the spares are not available then just let us know and take the product back a week or two is acceptable by some standards. But even after a month and more, the company does not have the decency to give a call or drop a message/mail to let us know the status of our complaint, is a shame.

              The bulk o[censored]nassembled wood and frame lie at the house unattended. Hope somebody responsible at Pepperfry can 'look into this'.

                I cant believe that a heavily advertised Pepperfry can stoop down to these levels. I ordered a product of Kings International from Pepperfry and the size of the product in reality was small compared to the picture which was misleading. I raised a return request on the same day and did not hear back about the pickup even after 10 days. When I contacted the helpdesk they told me that return would not be accepted unless there was a defect. This comes as a big surprise because one would least expect such a ridiculous condition in an online purchase. There was no such statement about return policy in the T&C either. When they say EASY RETURNS AND REFUNDS, the buyer would expect just that. This is daylight robbery and I do hope this complaint helps resolve the issue.

                  My order #[protected] was for a dining table. I have been waiting for it and I even called them on the day before the date of delivery to know about the status. They said, everything fine and we will get it next day.

                  On the day of delivery I got a call and they told me that, we are cancelling order as there is some problem. We will refund money.

                  I am very surprised. Normally anybody offers a replacement product or some other one. But here he spoke so rude and talk to me as if we are helping you and giving your money back.

                  I called again to see if somebody else offers a replacement product quickly, but they just say, we raised a request to refund your money. it will some in few days to your account. (not even immediate)

                  Pathetic people they wasted my ten days and now I caused so much in convenience. Now I need to search for it again.

                  I need penalty for the inconvenience they caused.

                    This is the worst ever online Shopping experience I am having, though I have ordered more than 10 times from pepperfry and never returned anything this time I ordered curtains worth 3k and the pic showed full length curtains while what I received was half length, I put in a return request to get the curtains exchanged and this size is completely useless for me as I have french windows. The customer care guy who called me was extremely rude and said they have a new return policy and would not even exchange it, he used the words I don't care and escalate to whoever u want and was the worst customer care guy I have ever spoken with. Also I multiple times told him that my 3k will go down the drain as I cannot use this and only want a replacement and he just didn't seem to care, d website has 0 value for customers and never again will i order. Also when I went back to the order on the app the return option is gone and there is no option to even add feedback this is disgusting behavior from pepperfry...online shopping is all about having the liberty to return i[censored] don't like

                      Hi,
                      I had ordered 'Winner Study Table in Rigato Walnut Finish by Spacewood' and received delivery on 5th March, Order no:[protected]. The product is not the Color what is shown in website/app. Within two days, I launched complaint which was addressed by the 'concerned' person in 10 days. Despite sharing the photos of the table, that person did not bother to look at it but checked through some internal team who said Color is same. Following up with further mail, they are not at all concerned about it but in attitude of do whatever you like. This is truly unprofessional behaviour which was not expected from 'self claimed' biggest online furniture store. As most of the products are third party, Pepperfry does not seem to take sole responsibility.
                      I hope this complain doesn't go unheard.

                        I ordered a pair of cushion covers which looked good in the images provided. However, once I received the order, I realized that they were of very low quality fabric. Its transparent and cant be used on regular white cushion fillers. I requested a return of this item, to which they replied that it cant be returned if the customer doesn't like the product. Now how is one supposed to know the quality of fabric through images. After this one email, I have not received any reply to my subsequent emails to them. This is really unfair to the customers and they should make sure the customer know the return policy clearly before buying. No where did I read in BOLD letters about their "very different" return policy. It is company's prerogative to decide their return policy but atleast don't fool the customers into believing that they are dealing with yet another e-commerce website.

                          I had ordered a mchannah bunker bed which was delivered on 17th feb. The assigned carpenter did not report for assembling the unit till 10th march and kept denying duty saying that the area (Vasant kunj) doesnt come under his duty territory. After raising yet another complaint i was assigned the same carpenter!!

                          The carpenter on opening the bed found that one of the bed boards had broken into two parts and said that this is defective and that the installation could not be done. I once again called the consumer helpline and they now refuse to replace/repair or accept any blame for having sent a broken, defective product.

                          I will never recommend anyone to buy any product from pepperfry.com. Absolutely bogus company with a ridiculous customer service and illogical return policy - how can a company not accept responsibility for a product that is delivered in broken/damaged condition??

                              Placed 2 orders with Pepperfry on the 18th Feb for 2 products (Ref - Order No.[protected] & Order No.[protected] for a wall clock & key holder.
                              Have only received the wall clock on Feb 27, found that it is hollow & casts a shadow on the wall and it is impossible to tell the time from a distance even with lights on. Placed a return request for the product on the same day i received it, then learnt about their ridiculous return policy, where they said that i could return only if it is defective or does not match the description in their website. In online shopping, how does one know if the product matches their requirement unless we see it in out home on location?. Get multiple calls from these unreasonable people only to tell me the same thing again & again. In a time when almost all shopping happens online, where people take back clothes without asking questions, find this extremely regressive. Earlier I have had Urban Ladder replace my furniture multiple time without so much so as a question. Coming to the order[protected], it shows as delivered on the 1st Mar, but have not received it till now. Reason they give is that they are following up with the courier delivery DTDC for the Proof of Delivery & that this product was delivered directly from the supplier and asking me to wait for 3-5 more days.
                              Goodbye Pepperfry, will not be back like ever & congrats, you lose a customer.

                              Not allowing to change the order item before it is shipped is unethical behavior by such a brand is Indian Consumer Court still sleeping?

                                Pepperfry has started cheating people openly. Recently we purchased a blackout curtain (Theatre darkness was a key requirement), after seeking assistance from pepperfry customer care. We had clearly told them our requirement and asked them to advice us on the kind of description we should be looking for, while on our search for the right product. Accordindly, we invested in a lushomes blackout door curtain (Set of 2) on 17th feb 2017. The order number was[protected]. When we received the item on 27th feb 2017, we noticed that there was no blackout lining at the back of the curtain and hence, the effect was nothing different from a normal curtain i. E. Light was passing through. When we complained, we were told that its not 100% blackout but normal blackout (!!!???). My question here is, how is that a blackout when there is no lining at the back of the curtain!?! It is a single sheet, ordinary curtain, though the online description clearly stated otherwise. Even after repeated complaints within the initial 7 days post delivery, customer care said nothing can be done. We felt extremely cheated and hence, wanted to warn all our friends and fellow buyers about these cheats. Breach of trust will ruin your business for sure and we will share this story across our personal and professional network, so that people think million times before ordering!! Pepperfry senior management - we hope you learn to do ethical business.

                                  I was prompted by Peppery that carpenter will come for three days after the delivery and the carpenter did not turn up. I chatted over the chat service three times and they kept promising that carpenter would come. I filed for a return on the website with the photo of the the unopened box and then carpenter calls when I am not available. I said I want to return the unopened box. Then the agent from Pepperfy calls and Pepperfry says they wont take back. He keeps repeating the same thing over and over again. Pepperfy site itself does not give any option for feedback that is visible to other customers. Beware of such sites.

                                    Its been barely 15-20 minutes, I placed a order with pepperfry.com and I want to cancel the order. Pepperfry customer care says they don't have cancellation policy. The item it not even shipped.

                                    Spoke to customer care and they are blatantly denying to cancel the order. This is arrogance at its best. Anti-competitive, anti-consumer in my opinion. There's not one other e-comm site that has this arrogant policy.

                                      Pepperfry Cheaters,

                                      I have ordered a Bergamo Four Seat Dining Set in pepperfry site on 16th of February and paid the total amount close to 35000/- using my credit card. After my order I have been checking/tracking my order status on a daily basis and it kept saying that my item is in Transit, it reached Mumbai warehouse, then it reached Chennai blah blah blah...I even had an online chat with someone to know exactly when I can expect my order and he confirmed me a couple of days back saying I would be receiving it on 1st of March. But today when I checked on the status through chat I was told that the item is damaged so I need to accept their Refund and so they can go ahead and raise a request which I did not want to do. When I asked them why should I take a refund? instead why not send me a new item which is not damaged, they said the item is not available in the warehouse. But I still see the item online.
                                      With all agony and anger I asked them for the Mangers number so I can have a chat with him but they said I will be receiving a call from the manager soon. I don't know if this is what is happening to all the orders. I wonder what if they take 50000 from 100 people and cancel their orders after all the waiting period of 15 to 20 days. So, who is gonna pay the interest for all that money. This is clearly an online fraud and I not only need my money back but with an interest amount for the same. And I request people not to buy any of their products online. This could happen to you as well.
                                      Moreover My Daughter was so eager to receive the dining table and she had been asking me all this while when we will be receiving the table. Now I don't have an answer for that. This is so ridiculous and I definitely deserve a better reply from Pepperfry.

                                        I had placed an order for 4 Capri Plastic Chairs manufactured under the brand name CELLO and paid the total price by net banking from my account in Kotak Mahindra Bank, South Extension Part 2 Branch on 25th January. The order No. is[protected].
                                        I was assured through email that the product will be delivered between 20th and 23rd February. When the product was not delivered on due date, I contacted customer care service on more than one occasions that the product has been dispatched. Since, I did not receive the product till 27th Feb, but no response. i have again sent an email today against non delivery of the product.
                                        I call upon you to ensure delivery of the ordered product within next 2 days, else I will bee constrained to take legal action agaisnt you,
