Good Morning & Greetings to You !!!
I have been interacting with Reliance Customer Care and other people in Reliance Customer
Service earlier also, regarding their standards of Retailing business in India. I resist
my urge to complain, but many a times, i also feel it is my duty and right to not succumb to
unethical business practices at one of the most prestigious business organizations in the
country.
I being an NRI and having worked with very renowned retail chains in Dubai, know
What is "RETAILING" and What is Customer Service. I will jot down a few malpractices
very common at Reliance Fresh stores...
I had visited Reliance Fresh( Krishna Nagar) today morning to buy some Fresh Vegetables. My Reliance
Fresh card no. is [protected] and i bought vide invoice no :(C[protected] dated
14.01.12 at 9:58:28 am. You can please check your records . The usual malpractices
frequently noticed are:
1. I (cash till operator) do not have change, please take a toffee. ( This happened
with me today morning). Then reluctantly i had to pick Methi, instead. In Dubai,
when in the morning, when stores open, cash tills are open with sufficient change.
This is mandatory and followed as a ritual.
2. Many a times the money returned is not in full. But majority of customers do
not argue for paltry 50 paise or 75 paise, but this has become a practice now. Which
shows poor training & subsequent checking procedures.
3. Many a times, i have to strongly say, that, why one cash till is operational
when there is too much morning rush and when there are two other cash tills
installed......No one to check....Since, i am from retailing background, i couldn't
resist seeing such negligence and customer feeling uneasiness. When, i complain
this, then hurriedly, a person comes and opens the second cash till,
otherwise...there is a good queue of the customers in front of one cash till only.
4. At any given time, Reliance Fresh must have Fresh Vegetable stock ....or you
have no right to brand yourself as " Reliance Fresh"...... Invariably every time, i
have to direct and sometimes scold them....for very poor display of stale vegetables
.....Either "Perform or Perish".....In this era of Retailing...you cannot afford to
be so insensitive... You guys have to LIVE your NAME " RELIANCE FRESH".....
If my above complaints make any Retail Sense, then ask one of your representatives
to talk to me for first hand information. OR pass email ids of your Retail
Heads, i will talk to them.

on 13.12.2012 at about8PM I collected certain items and went to bill counter for bill and payment of items in hand. I produced the reliance one card No.[protected] for entry of its points earned. Ialso requested the bill clerk/counter employee to tell me the points earned and its value for deduction from the current bill. The counter employee misbehaved rudely and shouted. Upon intervening other employee of your shop a fresh card no. [protected] was given valid for lifetime.And prepared the bill in my absence while I was writing the form. The bill wasin excess as I was not availabe at counter and I reqested for details. The bill clerk again shouted. Therewere only one or two customers in the shop and upon his bad behaviour I retutned without purchase of domestic articles of rupees 736/ after wastage of an hour at your shop. The couter employee is not haing any identity except routine dress of yor shop.
I am senior citizen as well as a retired central services Group A Officer and request you to investigate the matter as I did not feel appropriate loge FIR against your employee My mobile No. Is [protected]
