Updated by Nitin Basra September 2014 is when the journey started at 6;30pm when I picked my bike from South Delhi motorcycles. 10yh day from the date of purchase my bike started rattling which I showed c 45 times at the service center and I was told that there is no problem. Eventually after a lot of escalation my shocker were changed which took me close to 1.5 months.
Post that the problem continue to persist; hence, shared the same with South Delhi motorcycles workshop where I was told the second month that there is no problem.i had two accidents during this time because of the same which lead to bigger problem; hence, I decided to write a mail to the services and I got in touch with Dhannalal which supported me in getting the front disc changed which was creating a problem.
Post getting this problem fixed the side cover started rattling the 5th month which was a manufacturing defect and I had to get it welded from a local welder as it fell down while riding.
Just the first month which was March where two small problems took monstrous time leading to two accidents I planned to visit Ladakh and started the preparations and then just realised that this bike started makin funny noises for which the the mechanics of South Delhi Motorcycles said "sir this is nothing"... Then I started facing bigger challenges with the bike when the bike started missing and the gear shifting became bad.
Dhannalal supported and eventually along with the support of Manish who were able to identify that it was the coil and got the Pulsar Coil changed which they realised is faulty after a month.
While I was preparing for Ladakh I realised that there was yet another funny sound in the back and went back to the service center who told me that it's nothing without checking.
I checked and realised that the chain was hitting the center stand so got that fixed.
Then I started my journey to Leh Ladakh where at Jalandhar my bike stopped and gave up leaving me with some funny but similar sound from the engine. I took my bike to Royal Enfield Jalandhar in the month of June where they again realised that the coil was again faulty and they replaced it stating "sir Iska gear shifter and ley shaft kata hua hai " but upon asking they told me that they had to close sp they couldn't support as it was already late.
They asked me to read srinagar with the same situation which was definitely risky as there was no support with us. Somehow I reached Jammu and it started pouring like cats and dogs when I realised that this bike of mine can not be ridden on rain as it gives up which others work perfectly fine in the same condition. I somehow managed to make the bike reach Srinagar where they changed the ley shaft and with additional stay in Srinagar they gave me bike. Then post 50 kms I faced same problem and this time there was no RE support..I somehow managed to reach Sonmarg including an accident.. At Zojila pass the bike started throwing fumed and stopped after every 100 meters I had to strike the accelerator hard to ensure I cover distance which again was risky.
We had to toe the vehicle from Zojila to Drass bike to bike where we realised that the petrol which was filled by RE srinagar had kerosene oil in it. Which we opened and cleaned to continue. Entire trip was in the same situation as bike had multiple problems.
I reached delhi and had to take multiple leaves after which RE realised and got my engine changed.
My bike was delivered to me on 29thAug and then was sent back immideately because there was a problem that the bike was missing a d RPM was not set.
The bike was funnily delivered to me after 10 to 15 days with the same problem for which I spoke to Dhannalal and Manish, they asked me to send the bike to send the bike to IP I deus trial area where Manish use to sit before getting posted to jharkhand.
I visited the workshop c 10 times which the worked ghee would also acknowledge. They changed many things including fuel pump which according to them was a problem. They changed and I came back home with the bike where there was nothing done and the missing problem still persisted.
Finally they decided to ask the Chennai team to visit and they were also not able do anything, one was plan headband another was customer service head. (They visited south delhi motorcycles)
They agreed that there was a problem of which I am sure I'll be able to produce the video.
Finally they told me it will take time and then left the bike at South Delhi.
I kept on following up and realised nothing was happening and I was told to ride my bike in same Condition...
Post that Dhannalal asked to vet the bike picked for something done and nothing worked for me.
They called two boys from Chennai who finally changed my wiring a d the problem was fixed according to them for which I give credit but it was after close to 4 months of pain.
Not post getting the same fixed my bike again started taking side which was because of the shocker fault which I got diced on my way to Chakrata from Ponta Sahib.
Two days back I went to Ajmer sharia where post traveling 150kms from Delhi I got my bike oil topped up and spark plug cleaned. After traveling 40kms from Kotputli my bike gave up and spark plug shot. Then I got the same fixed and then the wire of ignition coil was loose enough to break from the hub.
I was stranded and toed the vehicle to around 40kms to Jaipur were we went to a workshop. Workshop guys were hell bent on the ECU being faulty which we checked finally in one or GT in our group and it worked so ECU being faulty was ruled out.
Then they changed the Pulsar Coil and the bikes started giving current. Which handing over the bike to us I was there was a red light switch on which upon asking I was told that it's Charging battery and nothing else. 30kms from Ajmer I realised that the bike started missing again, then finally it stopped and we had to toe the vehicle 30kms to reach guest house
finally bike was picked and I was told that wiring and meter were faulty which they asked 14000 for but thanks To Dhannalal who supported... I was given an old netter with a meter reading of 341 kms on 6700 minus discount.
I got the metre changed because I was told that there is a neutral light blocking on your meter and that's why the wiring shot but I was also told that it shot because of the additional lights so I was Co fused.
50 kms from Ajmer bike gave up and stared heating. Then light stopped working, the front bearing broke becsuee we had to switch on the bike in running and it put a lot of load on the bearing and also the chain sprocket broke which lead to chain to slip.
Now without light and traveling 10kms in bits and taking halts we reached delhi at 4 am which is not acceptable.
I paid money c9100 and I am still facing same problem which isn't good.
Now what I am asking royal enfield to do is to replace this bike or ensure to repay me for the damages and risks I have taken because of negligence and in-capability of RE workers to fix this bike.
Either I should get a new bike or else I need team insurance from RE which would make my family secure of anything happens to me while riding.
Disclaimer - this complaint is not against Dhannalal and Manish as they have née. Supportive but I am sure others sitting high above aren't really looking the reality of a person riding in deadly terrain... Making money and doing business should not be more than someone's experience and life. I
