I went to shoppers stop R-City store on 22nd Jan 2016. I liked one top & sales girl gave it to me to try it on. When I was going to the trial room one girl came to me & said, ‘if you don’t buy this top then give it to me’. I said ok, & I went to trial room. After coming out that girl again showed up and start snatching that top from me. It was shocking as that girl was pulling the top from my hand & was blocking my way. I told her I am buying the top. Then she started yelling at me that she has asked sales boy to keep the top aside for her & I took it. I told her that just before 5 min you were asking me that if I don’t buy the top then give it to you. On that, she was like what else I can say to you. Even after the sales girl & the boy confirmed that she has not asked to keep the top aside & it was hanged in an aisle when the sales girl gave it to me, she started yelling at me and created full chaos. But in spite of that the shoppers stop staff stood still watching the tamasha and latter one sales guy took the top from me lying that he just want to have a look at the top to check if they have another pair of it, and when I handed over it to him that guy gave a top to her & let her go with it. When I asked what’s happening here & that I want to talk to the manager, all the staff member said that manager can’t do anything and I need to understand that she is their customer. (If she was the customer, then I don’t know who was I for them??). When one guy came saying that he is the manager of the store, I told him I am trying to cooperate with your staff in spite of the fact that it’s not my fault, but your staff has just handed over the top to that girl & telling me to have patience. Then even that manager started yelling at me saying I am not cooperating with them & they are trying to arrange for another pair of top from some other store for which they don’t know how much time will take or I go to other stores of shoppers stop & look for the same top.
Through the whole incident, even when that girl was literally pulling the top from me & blocking my way when I was trying to talk to any of the staff member, all the members of shoppers stop shop was nicely standing & enjoying the drama. Without any of my fault I had to go through this humiliation. At last when I asked for complaint register or feedback form or contact number of in charge with whom I can raise my concern, the answer was ‘we don’t have any complaint register or any contact number’.
With this kind of attitude how can anyone feel safe & not discriminated?
